Sehr lecker, aber schon amtliche Preise. Es war ein sehr schöner Abend!

Eine Geschmacksexplosion für den Gaumen und liebevoll bis ins kleinste Detail drapiert. Inensive, äußerst freundliche und aufmerksame Betreuung.

Sehr vielfältige japanische Speisen im Menu und ausgezeichnet zubereitet und präsentiert mit einem exzellenten Service.

Ich komm ungefähr alle 2-3 Monate in das Maser und bin nie enttäuscht, so auch gestern war es wieder exzellent. Der Geschmack der Speisen ist immer wieder überraschend Struktur und Geschmack exzellent Service super. Vielleicht könnte das äußere das Ambiente etwas gediegener sein

Es war ein großartiger Abend von Anfang bis Ende. Wir hatten ein wunderbares Menu mit einem Höhepunkt nach dem anderem. Einfach ein Genuss! Sehr aufmerksamer Service. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Danke liebes Masa Team.

Wir waren hier beim unseren Jahrestag. Das Essen sowie das Konzept ist ausgezeichnet. Der Chef hat seine Gäste persönlich empfangen und beim Abschied auch zur Tür gebracht. Das fanden wir sehr nett. Sein Team passen gut auf die Kunden auf. Bei einigen Gängen müssen wir ehrlich sagen dass wir noch nie was so lecker gegessen haben. Was mir wünscht, was zwar auch vielleicht komisch klingt, ist dass das Essen Portion etwas mehr sein wird. Das kann man insbesondere beim Sushi Gang und Hauptgericht Gang umsetzen. Eine weitere Anmerkung noch ist das wir keine Gratulation für unseren Jahrestag bekommen, obwohl ein anderer Tisch das bekommen hat. Wir haben bei Reservierung auf jeden Fall das angegeben. Eine Gratulation und es wäre sogar besser wenn die Staff für uns ein Foto machen würden. Das könnte den besonderen Tag schöner und eindrucksvoller machen.

Es war einfach alles perfekt - Service, Essen, Ambiente - das Masa Team hat für einen unvergesslichen Abend gesorgt.

Bei Masa Essen ist eine fantastische Erfahrung für die Sinne. Jedes Gericht ist eine Augenweide und ein Gaumenschmaus, der Service ist Exzellent und die Saké Auswahl über jeden Zweifel erhaben. Gerne wären wir öfter bei Masa zu Gast aber preislich ist der Besuch ebenfalls etwas ganz besonderes, das man sich nicht alltäglich gönnen kann und vielleicht auch nicht sollte. Wenn wird man es jedoch nicht bereuhen.

Very friendly and authentic service. Fine, precise food, which – typically Japanese – is quiet and unobtrusive, yet rich in clear flavors. A little more precision would have benefited the ambiance. The tables were very nice, but there were cables hanging from the ceiling.

Masa's restaurant offers a truly extraordinary glimpse into Japanese cuisine. We've never eaten so well at a Japanese restaurant before. Our meal lasted almost four hours and was absolutely delicious. The accompanying wines were perfect. Excellent. This experience is worth every penny.

It was a culinary revelation. The menu had a distinctly exciting arc, underscored by the accompanying drinks. Each item was a flavor explosion in its own right. I couldn't help but laugh at times because I found the food so absurdly good. The service also ensures that the experience is the top priority, so you can focus on nothing but enjoyment. Das Restaurant von Masa liefert einen Einblick in die japanische Kochkunst, der wirklich extraordinär ist. So gut haben wir noch nicht bei einem Japaner gegessen. Unser Menue hat fast 4 Stunden gedauert und es war so köstlich. Dazu die passende Weinbegleitung. Exzellent. Dieses Erlebnis ist den Preis wert.

Dining at Masa is an absolute experience. The atmosphere, the service, the food, and even the opportunity to watch the chef at work are absolutely unique. We definitely want to treat ourselves to it again in the future. The extensive menu is highly recommended: We would have been very reluctant to miss out on the additional dishes.

Anyone who has ever been to Japan and experienced Kaiseki cuisine will inevitably be reminded of it when they enter Masa Japanese Cuisine. Everything exudes a simplicity that transports you to the world of Japanese haute cuisine. Ultimately, however, the dining experience, as the culmination of Japanese cuisine, is the focus, and you savor what awaits you to the fullest. Food is imaginatively presented, and you experience the high quality of each dish, simply delighting in it. At least, that's how it was for me. The service and wine selection were impeccable. All in all, a successful evening that I will remember for a long time. Arigato gosaimasu!

Ein sehr schöner Abend! Masarue Oae kombiniert japanische Produkte von höchster Qualität dort, wo es passt, mit dezenten, klug eingesetzten Elementen französischer Küche. Die Präsentation der Speisen ist sehr ästhetisch, die begleitenden Weine passen hervorragend zu den diversen Gängen. Der Service ist freundlich und kundig, die Atmosphäre im Lokal entspannt und bestens gelaunt.

Yesterday around lunchtime, I tried their lunch set menu, which included: * Greetings from the kitchen (2 types) * Starter 1 * Starter 2 * Soup * Sushi * Meat dish * Dessert * Sweet finale The combination was very delicate and unique. Apart from some dishes where the garnish leaves weren’t very fresh, everything was quite good.

Großartiges Restaurant mit japanischer Spitzenküche. Puristisch ist die Einrichtung und ebenso auf das Wesentliche reduziert sind die Gerichte von hoher Qualität. 

It was a fascinating culinary journey to Japan. Ambitiously created dishes. A feast for the eyes and a taste explosion, pure enjoyment. Everything was harmonious. We received excellent advice on the perfect wine for the entire menu. The sake also added a special touch to the fish course. The staff is friendly, professional, and specific in their descriptions of the dishes, lovingly and pleasantly unobtrusive. It was a truly wonderful evening. It won't be the last.

Masa celebrates its wonderful Japanese cuisine in an unassuming setting. The entrance is shabby and easily overlooked, the decor is completely understated, and the focus is very archaic on what it is all about: a concentration on fine dining: on the table, the person sitting opposite, and back on the table. No distractions. Great! I love it. Finally, no wild colors and shapes on the walls and floor; instead, the gaze wanders to the plates and glasses. Where else? There isn't much else to go on :). And the best Japanese cuisine unfolds on the table. The service, trained and always knowledgeable, knows how to create a warm, enveloping ambiance. You feel like you're in good hands. The extensive omakase menu, with individual drink selections by the guest and sommelier, is a culinary journey through the large Japanese fish pond and its associated fruit and vegetable gardens. What splendor is presented on the plate in the smallest of spaces. A feast for the senses of the highest quality, both in material and preparation. The staff are patient, even when, after more than five hours of devoting themselves to the refined dishes, guests still want to order more for the finale. Frankfurt can be proud of Masa. It's in a league with the best European cuisines. I say that as a connoisseur who usually has his palate cared for in Italy, Spain, and France. And the prices are reasonable. If you appreciate fine dining, this is the place for you.

Rating this restaurant is not easy. It's very good, but the price is exorbitantly high. The restaurant looks very inconspicuous from the outside. At first you think you're standing in front of a dilapidated kiosk. When you come in, there are two rooms available and seats at the counter. There are only a few seats and the rooms are simply furnished. The service is first class, food and drinks too. But you leave a lot of money here. If you go all out, like the two of us did, you can order the large menu for just under €200 per person and upgrade it by another €60. A wine accompaniment is also available for €90. If you then have an aperitif and something for afterwards and the tip, you easily end up with 450 € per person (like us). Then you just have to be aware that you can eat four times as good for the money, even in Frankfurt. So who is this restaurant for? Definitely for people who don't know where to put their money. And anyone who can bill such sums for business purposes is of course in good hands here. If you have too much money to spend here, I don't think it's a bad thing if it means good staff get a good salary. They spend the money they earn and thus support the economy. That's exactly how it should be, money has to be in circulation so that many people can benefit from it. For people who don't have a lot of money to spend at this restaurant, as already mentioned above, there are far cheaper options even in Frankfurt with certainly the same or almost the same quality. It's certainly not a 9-course meal with wine accompaniment, but it doesn't necessarily have to be. Of course, considering the quality and service, this restaurant deserves five stars (and more). But because it is so incredibly expensive, I wanted to deduct two stars. But that wouldn't be acceptable because of the high quality of the restaurant. That's why I'm only deducting one star because of the very high price.

Behind the inconspicuous facade lies a successful combination of Japanese classic and modern with small regional accents. Each course of the omakase lunch menu was carefully balanced in textures and flavors and lovingly decorated and presented with typical Japanese care. The service is impeccable, attentive and unobtrusive and responds to the guests' wishes. We'd love to come back.

It's hard to know where to begin. The ambiance is rather rustic, whereas the service shines with attentiveness, professionalism, and even humor. The food is top-notch. From the chef's greetings to the appetizers, soup, main courses, and dessert, everything is individually coordinated, and the wine pairings perfectly complement each course. High praise to the kitchen and service for a fantastic evening!

Jeder einzelne Gang war für sich ein Kunstwerk, sowohl optisch als auch geschmacklich. Ich hatte das Glück, direkt an der Zubereitungsstelle zu sitzen und somit einen Eindruck von dem Aufwand und der Qualität der Zubereitung zu bekommen. Die Weinbegleitung zu den einzelnen Gängen passte hervorragend . Wenn man sehen möchte, was Zen ist, dann muss man da hin. Es hat mich beeindruckt.

I made a reservation for my mother's birthday a few years ago because I was so impressed by the food, but I couldn't help but write a review. First, the sauces were too salty and the food looked fancy, but there were too many overlapping ingredients, making it monotonous. They were ingredients you would expect from a Japanese restaurant, but it was disappointing that they used too much. First, almost every menu had at least 3 courses, including fried food and desserts, and yuzu and shiso leaves were served in different forms, but they kept coming out as foam and garnishes, so many dishes felt similar. The ingredients were fresh and there were some great dishes, but overall, they fell short of my expectations. The desserts were especially disappointing. The yuzu basil sorbet was delicious, but the combination of panna cotta, cubed fresh pineapple, and chocolate cookies on top really made the desserts below par with their reputation. Maybe I had high expectations because I had such delicious desserts the last time I came. Second, the service staff were polite, but there was nothing other than a mechanical explanation of the food. One of the three staff members didn't speak German other than the ingredients, and I had to concentrate to understand the other staff members' explanations because the surrounding area was noisy. And the chef saw me when I went to the bathroom, but he didn't greet me, and the customers sitting at the bar were escorted to the door on their way out. Hahaha Third, we sat in a space where the bar wasn't visible, and there were 6, 4, 2, and 2 people in total, 14 people. The tables were so narrow that I could hear people talking at the tables next to me. I thought I was in the same group as the next table. There was anticipation for the next menu while waiting, but I could already see what was coming out next to me, so that wasn't great either. You can't see the sushi being made in a narrow space reminiscent of a warehouse, and there was no interior design to speak of, so there was nothing to see, and it was boring just waiting for the food. The ingredients might be new to Germans, but the food definitely needs improvement. We paid around 600€ for 3 people and I think there were plenty of other options to have a great birthday. I don't think I will be going back again.

Speisen in ruhiger Atmosphäre und mit einem sehr aufmerksamen Service. Die Menuezusammenstellung passt optimal zu einem japanischen Restaurant auf diesem Niveau. Einzig die Parkplatzsituation ist ausbaufähig.

We went to Masa for the first time for our anniversary and had a wonderful evening there. From the excellent service to the extremely delicious Japanese cuisine. The service was very friendly, accommodating and immediately available for every request. And all of this without being intrusive. The food was of course the highlight and we were able to enjoy our omakase menu for 4 hours in a noble ambience. Of course, the fact that we were able to watch the food being prepared from our seat at the counter made the evening perfect. The matching wine pairing was fantastic and absolutely suited my taste. Although it was a bit much for me as I hardly drink alcohol. The wine sommelier, as well as everyone else, do their job from the heart and you should feel that in every interaction. The ambience was simple and elegant and, despite the full cast, it was never too loud. It was just a little too cold for our taste, but that's a personal interpretation. In summary, I give 5 stars for our stay at this restaurant. A restaurant that takes all the senses on a journey through Japanese cuisine. We can wholeheartedly recommend Masa to anyone who values ​​good food.

Wir waren 4 Stunden dort und die Zeit ist wie im Flug vergangen. Wirklich ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis und auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert! Tipp: Nach Möglichkeit den Platz am Tresen nehmen, dort kann man bei der Zubereitung und Anrichte zusehen, was ebenfalls ein Highlight war!

Today we visited Masa Japanese Cuisine in Frankfurt for the second time. We were once again impressed by the outstanding quality of the food and the excellent service. Ich gehe alle vier Wochen bis acht Wochen in das Marsa und das ist immer hervorragend so auch gestern. Das Essen war möglich unbeschreiblich gut und ich glaube die Stadt Frankfurt kann dankbar sein, dass es dieses Restaurant in Frankfurt gibt. Herzliche Grüße an das Team

Our second visit to Masa was once again an absolute culinary spectacle! The dishes were perfectly balanced and of the highest quality, complemented by truly exzellent service. This time, we chose the extended menu with Ozaki Wagyu sirloin and eel, paired with delicious wines – highly recommended! A special tip: sit at the bar to watch the masters as they craft each dish into a true work of art. A must for lovers of Japanese cuisine.

Unfortunately a huge disappointment today. Last time we had great service and great food. Unfortunately today we were seated in the last seats at the counter without warning. Very sad for communication. And it would then be pointed out to me that when we order a table, we should definitely say that we also want a table and not a counter. Too bad.

Der Besuch im Masa war ein Erlebnis. Die Räumlichkeiten sind spartanisch eingerichtet und entsprechen in ihrem reduzierten Stil der japanischen Kultur. Ganz im Kontrast hierzu überzeugt jeder einzelne Gang in seiner Präsentation durch Schönheit und Kreativität und führt immer wieder zu Geschmacksexplosionen. Die Zutaten sind von höchster Qualität und bewirken, dass selbst "einfache" Gänge wie Sashimi oder Sushi anders und besser als bei anderen japanischen Restaurants schmecken. Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam und gab zu jedem Gang ausführliche Erklärungen. Kein Wunder, dass das Masa seit 2023 einen Michelin Stern hat. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

In puristischem Ambiente bekommt man in diesem kleinen Restaurant einen umfangreichen Ausschnitt japanischer Esskultur geboten. Die Qualität der Zutaten, die Zubereitung und die Präsentation der Speisen sind absolute Spitzenklasse. Ebenso das hervorragende Service-Team. Menü und Wein-/Sake-Begleitung ergänzen sich wunderbar. Spezielle Erwähnung verdienen aus meiner Sicht die Vorspeisenplatte, die Präsentation der Garnelensuppe, der Adlerfisch-Gang und das süße Finale, in meinen Augen eine süße Fanfare, grandios. Freund*innen der japanischen Küche, aber auch Menschen, die einen Ausbruch aus der französisch dominierten Spitzengastronomie suchen, sind hier genau richtig!

Unglaubliche Vielfalt der Gerichte. Alles super und aufwendig angerichtet- das Auge isst mit, und wie! Mehr feine und zurückhaltende Aromen als Geschmacksexplosonen. Lediglich das Wagyu (55€ Aufpreis) war eine Enttäuschung. Sehr gute Auswahl bei den offenen Weinen. Auf den Plätzen am Tresen kann man bei der Tellerdekoration zusehen. Toll!

Es gab zu viele überlappende Zutaten in jedem Gang, sodass sich viele Gänge ähnlich anfühlten. Insbesondere die Qualität der Desserts war im Vergleich zum Preis und dem Ruf des Restaurants lächerlich niedrig. Sofern Sie sich nicht im Tecke-Raum befinden, erinnert das Innere des separaten Raums an ein Lagerhaus. Ich kam mit schönen Erinnerungen an die Zeit vor ein paar Jahren zurück, aber es entsprach nicht meinen Erwartungen und ich denke, es wäre viel besser gewesen, wenn ich ein anderes Restaurant ausprobiert hätte.

In my opinion, the appetizer platter, the presentation of the shrimp soup, the eagle fish course and the sweet finale, in my opinion a sweet fanfare, deserve special mention. Fans of Japanese cuisine, but also people who are looking for a break from the French-dominated top gastronomy, have come to the right place!

Probably my favourite Japanese restaurant in Frankfurt now, definitely deserve the Michelin star. We had the 9 course Omakase menu, the ingredients are super fresh and definitely worth every penny! Service is professional and polite (just like in Japan) and the aperitif we had was also mind blowing (matcha sake aperitif). We sat at the counter before the chef’s cooking bench so we were able to observe all the detailed cooking and cutting (which itself was an art and performance!)

Exquisite food that was spectacular and the service was excellent

This was a wonderful dinner, one of the best I’ve ever had. The service was excellent. Ambience is friendly, comfortable and welcoming, simple/elegant, casual. The food and is exceptional. Wine and sake pairings are fabulous. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the experience of the chefs putting plates together.

Wir können den gesamten Abend nur als „hervorragend“ bezeichnen! Das Essen war fantastisch, der Service, die Beratung, die Freundlichkeit, das Ambiente waren vom Allerfeinsten! Dieses Lokal könnte ich mir auch sehr gut in New York vorstellen.
