Cozy wine and beer bar, service sleepy and in need of improvement, kitchen performance modest. Creamy schnitzel was black at the bottom.... The kitchen should practice using a pan here! If you continue like this, it will soon be over.
Franconian hospitality looks different...The owners should check THEIR concept!
Through the Schlemmerblock we ended up in this great restaurant. The pizza was great. Nice thin base, very well topped and also super baked and delicious. Service is very friendly, everything is clean and you don't sit back to back and dogs are allowed too. There are enough parking spaces available. We'll definitely be back.
Wanne be American Diner
Disappointing experience – unfortunately, I don't recommend it.
First, the good news: The waitress was friendly and clearly trying hard – but that was unfortunately the only bright spot of our visit.
The chaos began with the drinks: After a long wait, they weren't served at the table, but had to be passed from hand to hand across several tables – an absurdity in a restaurant.
The disappointing impression continued with the food. We ordered burgers, spare ribs, steak, and schnitzel, among other dishes. The steak was initially missing the accompanying baked potatoes, which were only served after repeated requests and with a significant delay. Instead of the requested vegetable side dish, fries were mistakenly brought. The dips seemed unimaginative and tasted interchangeable.
To match: The schnitzel was extremely thin and seemed more like deep-fried than properly fried – another disappointment.
Overall, a lackluster and unprofessional impression – we won't be back.
Very tasty, but at least the burgers are quite small. The beer isn't the best in the region, but it's anything but bad. Sides can be ordered at will, and the service is very friendly. The atmosphere, right on the Main River, is also very nice, especially in the evenings. It's definitely worth recommending, but I think the steaks are better than the burgers.
Friendly service and really great with children! A large play area with easy access from the seating area. The food is perfectly fine for a beer garden, but not a culinary highlight.
We had reserved a table for a larger group in advance and received a very friendly welcome upon arrival. Our spot under the gazebo offered plenty of shade – perfect for a sunny day.
Our drinks were served promptly, and the staff were consistently attentive, cheerful, and genuinely welcoming. The beer garden itself is beautiful and historic, with a charming atmosphere – exactly what you'd expect.
The food was also a hit: roast pork in Altbier sauce, Leberkäse (meatloaf) with potato salad, Obatzter (a local sausage), and potato chips – all fresh, delicious, and typical of a Bavarian beer garden.
The service was particularly friendly: Our waitress even lent us her personal power bank – simply fantastic! She checked in regularly to make sure everything was okay, without being intrusive.
Conclusion: An all-round successful visit that will stay with us forever – cozy, welcoming, and simply a place to feel good. We would love to come back!
I really enjoyed it! The food was delivered on time (the driver even kindly brought the food to my hotel room!).
I thought the price was perfectly reasonable. I had the sake bowl: lots of fresh salmon, fresh ginger, delicious edamame, avocado, and the rice was delicious too. The portion was large and tasted absolutely fantastic.
Only one comment: unfortunately, no forks or chopsticks were included...
I'll definitely order again when I'm in Würzburg.
The highlight, of course, is the phenomenal view of Würzburg. We sat on the self-service terrace. As long as there isn't a large group waiting to order ahead of you at the self-service counter, everything goes relatively quickly. Since we only had French fries and beer, we can't really judge the food, but everything was fine for us.
