Nikolaushof in Würzburg

Restaurant mit Biergarten über dem Mainufer mit großartiger Aussicht über Würzburg. Sitzbereiche aussen auf der Hangterrasse und um einen kleinen Teich mit offenem Pavillon. Sitzplätze innen in geschlossenen Pavillon mit großen Sprossenfenstern, sehr schöne stimmige Innenausstattung. Essen war lecker, grosse Weinkarte.

Sehr schönes Lokal, tolle Lage und Aussicht

Wir hatten einen wirklich tollen Aufenthalt im Nikolaushof. Das Essen war hervorragend und besonders der Lachs war absolut top – perfekt zubereitet und geschmacklich wirklich etwas Besonderes. Auch der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und das Ambiente super angenehm und gemütlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Pure Chaos, Bierglas war mit Spiennweben, Bedienung lange gedauert.

Ich bin nach dem Besuch des Käppele spontan auf den Nikolaushof gestoßen. Das Ambiente ist traumhaft, die Dame an der Theke war sehr nett und der Eiskaffee lecker (allerdings hat mich die Minze in den Eiswürfeln etwas überrascht). Gegessen habe ich nichts, daher kann ich dazu nichts sagen.

Sehr zu empfehlen! Wir haben hier eine Silberhochzeit gefeiert mit BBQ Buffet und es war alles perfekt. Großes Lob für das leckere Essen und den ausgezeichneten Service!

Sehr schöne Location mit Blick über Würzburg. Die Selbstbedienungs Terrasse hat Biergartencharakter. Auch schattige Plätz sind vorhanden bzw mit Markisen geschaffen werden. Da Selbstbedienung keine Servicepunkte, obwohl alle an der Theke sehr nett, hilfsbereit und flott sind. Ein sportliches Ausflugsziel zu Fuß oder mit dem Fahrrad, da es doch ganz schön berg hoch geht. Ich habe meinen 50. Geburtstag auf dem Nikolaushof gefeiert. Essen, Service, Location, Organisation - alles top! Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung! Nach der Erfahrung werde ich auch mein nächstes Fest dort ausrichten!

Vorsicht, falls ihr dort ein Event plant. Uns wurde 3 Tage vor unserer Hochzeit ganz nonchalant abgesagt. Im Nachhinein bin ich froh, dass wir nicht dort gefeiert haben, bei der Arroganz (und dazu den überhöhten Preisen).

Hallo liebes Team vom Nikolaushof, Vielen lieben Dank für die wunderschöne Hochzeit bei euch! Jessica und ihr Team sind von Anfang an voll und ganz auf unsere Wünsche/ Sonderwünsche und Vorstellungen eingegangen. Es wurde immer sofort und unkompliziert eine Lösung gefunden, zu keinem Zeitpunkt mussten wir uns Sorgen machen. Am Hochzeitstag selbst war die Chefin persönlich die gesamte Hochzeit über vor Ort und hat den Ablauf überwacht. Für uns als Brautpaar war das natürlich eine große Hilfe, es lief alles professionell im Hintergrund ab und wir konnten uns zu 100% auf die Feier und unsere Gäste konzentrieren. Das Service-Team war sehr Aufmerksam und wurde von unseren Gästen ausdrücklich gelobt! Eine Kellnerin ist wohl noch nicht sehr lange da und sie hat einen perfekten Job gemacht! Weiter so! Die Empfehlungen für den DJ und den Fotografen hatten wir ebenfalls von Nikolaushof, Brian und Florian. So lief die Abstimmung natürlich nochmal besser ab als wir uns dass je hätten vorstellen können. Alles in allem hat uns das Team vom Nikolaushof eine perfekte Hochzeit bereitet! Tolle Location mit wunderschönen Blick auf die beleichtete Stadt Würzburg. Der alte Hof ist sehr stilvoll mit getrennten Gasträumen in den alten Gebäuden. Wir waren in der Scheune mit schönen Ambiente und reichlich Platz. Das Valentinstsgsmenü war toll. Jeder Gang fantasievoll und liebevoll inszeniert. Das junge Servicepersonal war sehr aufmerksam und auch mal zu einem Scherz bereit. Wir werden gerne wieder kommen.

Wir waren zum Kaffeetrinken hier und haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt. Zum Kaffee gab es sogar ein kleines Stück Schokolade, was richtig lecker war. Die Waffeln waren einfach fantastisch – sehr saftig und geschmacklich top, auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert! Die Aussicht ist super schön und macht das Ganze noch gemütlicher. Alles war liebevoll angerichtet, das Ambiente angenehm und man merkt, dass hier auf Details geachtet wird. Das Personal war richtig nett, freundlich und zuvorkommend, man fühlt sich direkt willkommen. Auch die Toiletten waren sauber und schön eingerichtet – da merkt man einfach, dass alles passt. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen und können einen Besuch nur empfehlen. Einfach ein schöner Ort, um Kaffee zu trinken, Kuchen oder Waffeln zu genießen und die Aussicht zu genießen!

Super freundlich und herzlich willkommen geheißen - beste Waffeln und leckeren Cappuccino mit u.a.Hafermilch (!!) - Heizstrahler für die Füße ( für FrierFrauen eine Wohltat 👍) und auch noch warmes Wasser beim Hände waschen. Dazu die TopAussicht. Wir kommen sehr, sehr gerne wieder. Weiter so und nur Gutes für Jessica und Co.

Sehr gutes Essen, schönes Ambiente. Nach längerer Zeit wieder mit 25 Personen im Pavillon zum runden Geburtstag und gleichzeitigem 25-jährigem Hochzeitstag im Nikolaushof gewesen. Wir waren wieder sehr zufrieden mit der Location, dem Service und dem Essen. Gerne wieder. Kann man nur weiterempfehlen!

We were invited to a birthday party. Excellent service, excellent food. There's a lovely dining room with a terrace that can accommodate up to 40-80 people.

So, this was my first time here. The view over the city of Würzburg was fantastic, really nice. I had the dish with chanterelle mushrooms, but the dumplings weren't quite my taste. The terrace is large. It gets very busy on weekends.

Great food in a beautiful ambience

Exclusive ambiance, exclusive prices – unfortunately, exclusive responsibility. After our visit, which cost almost €100 for two people, my partner suffered severe stomach upset with vomiting and diarrhea that same evening. My complaint was met with an evasive response, citing allergies and hypothetical intolerances – instead of taking the incident seriously. Anyone dining in this price range can expect more than just a beautiful view and empty words.

Impossible! The kitchen and service were completely overwhelmed. The appetizer arrived after over half an hour, and the main course never arrived! Better off going to McDonald's!

We went to the beer garden. The atmosphere and view are excellent! However, the cakes are just cheap, industrial-style goods. And I don't think €4.50 a slice is reasonable. Any cake mix tastes better!

Unfortunately, a complete disaster. We had a 5:30 p.m. reservation, and we couldn't have come any later because we waited FOREVER for our food. We ended up leaving the restaurant at 9:30 p.m. after four hours, and we had to wait 30 minutes to get our menus. The guinea fowl arrived at the table partially raw (translucent and pink). After we took it back to the kitchen to get a cooked, edible chicken, the waiter came to the table and instead of apologizing for the inedible food, he asked, "Oh, and you'd like your chicken cooked well?" Oh, what kind of question is that?! A chicken isn't a steak, which can be eaten medium-rare. We paid €230 for this for four people. We won't be back and won't recommend it to anyone. Better food and service can be found at much cheaper prices in other restaurants and bars.

A truly beautiful location above Würzburg with a unique view of the city from the terrace. I would describe the food in the restaurant as very good, upscale cuisine without any Michelin-star frills. The aroma and consistency are just right, as is the price-performance ratio. The wine list should really satisfy most tastes. The service at the table was very friendly. The only annoyance for us was trying to reserve a table online via the website: It says that reservations are only possible via the online reservation form. However, this form only allows reservations for the following day. And when you try to do that, the form requires a captcha entry – only no captcha appears. We then called and were able to reserve a table for the same day without any problems. For this reason – and really only because of the hassle of the online reservation – we deducted 2 points for service.

The food was excellent and the team was simply fantastic. We immediately felt at home. The service was super attentive and warm. Thank you for the lovely evening with you! :)

Unfortunately, the Nikolaushof cannot be recommended. The price-performance ratio is clearly disproportionate. The schnitzel seemed overcooked, as if it had come from a deep fryer, and the fried potatoes were soggy for €31. The truffle pasta for €26.90 was no better, served in a pure cream sauce with a touch of truffle. The trout served in the pan was not only dry but also lacking in flavor. The extensive wine list is impressive, but not when compared to the wait staff's lack of knowledge about the products. And then, when half the white wines aren't chilled... The service staff were generally very attentive and friendly. The ambiance, with its view over Würzburg, is actually worthy of 5 stars. Unfortunately, this impression suffers from a lack of cleanliness, e.g., the awning, things lying around in the corners, etc. It's a shame—the location actually has a lot of potential. Given the overall impression, I wouldn't visit you again and unfortunately can't recommend you to anyone.

A very nice location, but unfortunately, the prices for the food are disproportionate. Very expensive, and the service isn't up to par! Perhaps the concept could be reconsidered! It's a shame we expected more! €14 for an appetizer (see photo...) – we were disappointed! The portion in the bowl was the size of a tablespoon, and unfortunately, the flavor wasn't explosive!

We went there with our family for dinner and the experience was not good. The service was slow: it took a long time to take our order and even longer for the food to arrive. There were five of us; three of the four adults received their food, and the fourth arrived 10 minutes later. The quality of the food is disproportionate to the price: €40 for a main course of mushrooms and pork fillet with no salt, bitter mushrooms, and small portions. There are also no healthy food options for children. We were given a glass of wine as an apology, but we won't be returning and cannot recommend it.

The prices are now disproportionate to the quality of the food on offer. Prices are like those at fine dining, but the quality and taste are like those at a simple pub. A 1.5-hour wait for the food. Very friendly staff who tried to limit the damage. Perhaps they should rethink the concept of this otherwise great location, or if the kitchen doesn't have enough staff, they should not accept so many guests. This restaurant won't survive in the long run.

After our wedding 💒, my husband and I had dinner at the Nikolaushof. It was known that we were having our wedding that day. Neither the waitress nor the manager congratulated us, let alone perhaps a coffee or a schnapps for dessert on the house. I found that a real shame, because weddings aren't something you get to do every day, and it was just the two of us, and we left enough money at the restaurant. Whether we'll go there again is highly questionable.

July 2025 A great location with a fantastic view over Würzburg. Plenty of shady spots. There's a self-service and restaurant area. It's a great place to linger. A great atmosphere.

Great location just above the Käppele with a fantastic view of Würzburg. The tables on the large terrace are very nice. Large umbrellas and sails offer protection from the weather. The interior is also comfortably furnished. The staff is very friendly and the food is exceptionally delicious. We had a great time.

I celebrated my wedding there a week ago, and it was unforgettable. The staff was always attentive to all of our guests and supported us in every way, even before the ceremony, and listened to our every question. The price is high, but absolutely justified for this location. My husband and I were thrilled and are very grateful for everything.

Nice ambiance, food was good, but we waited over two hours for our food in a moderately busy restaurant. The trout and salmon were also overcooked. For the price, I really expected a bit more. To make matters worse, the heavier staff who brought the food were so unfriendly, know-it-all, and dismissive that I won't be visiting this restaurant again because of the service.

As always, we were warmly welcomed by the entire team around Julia and Johannes, incredibly attentive service, and pampered with unparalleled organization. The service is extremely friendly, attentive, and authentic – you immediately feel that the work here is done with passion. Whether it's a welcome, advice, or loving attention in between: your every wish is literally read from your eyes. Add to that this stunning view over the whole of Würzburg – it's as if you were sitting in a small oasis above the city's rooftops. The atmosphere, cuisine, and hospitality blend perfectly here. What was particularly impressive was that no matter what we celebrated – be it a milestone birthday, a baptism, a Christmas party, an evening with friends, or a wine tasting – Julia, Johannes, and their team perfectly supported each event and made it something special. We are always impressed, each time in a new way. Even for a "normal evening," the Nikolaushof is a place where you can relax, enjoy yourself, and simply feel at home. Thank you all so much – we're already looking forward to our next visit!

A place where everything is just right: - Food - Drinks - Atmosphere - Location and view There's nothing more to say.

A bit dated, with some investment backlog. But the food is excellent, and the service is good and friendly. In good weather, the location is prime with a fantastic view over Würzburg.

Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be! As a Würzburg resident, it's more than a shame to see how much the Nikolaushof has declined. After many years, we went back there again – and unfortunately, for the last time for now. The food was not good, simply not appetizing, and in no way commensurate with the price. The charred fried potatoes are just one example of several. The service was friendly at first, but the entire experience seemed chaotic and unloving. The restaurant gives off a dingy impression; you simply sense no passion, no heart and soul. It doesn't feel like a place run with love, but rather like something that just sort of works, and as if no one really puts any effort into it. Our criticism was ignored; the chef even defended the black potatoes, saying that his guests like them that way. Resistance to advice instead of insight. At least we weren't charged for the meal in the end – but unfortunately, that doesn't change the fact that we left disappointed. The view over Würzburg is still unique, but the restaurant can't do anything about it, and unfortunately, it doesn't salvage the overall impression either. What a pity!

Unfortunately, I have to say that, based on the reviews, I was expecting a bit more. While the food tasted absolutely fine, the portions were very small compared to the price, or in other words, the price was too high for the portions. So if you want to enjoy the beautiful view, aren't too hungry, but are still willing to pay a lot, this is the restaurant for you.

I, Giannis Nicou, was booked as a wedding DJ at the Nikolaushof – an absolute dream location! The combination of a stylish ambiance, a fantastic view, and a super-dedicated team made the celebration unforgettable for everyone. From a service provider's perspective, too: top-notch! Beer garden with a beautiful view. Food and service are okay, but nothing more.

First the positive, the view is breathtakingly beautiful, the path to the chapel is not far. We arrived there full of anticipation, having pre-booked a table for 4 people. Drinks and starters came quite quickly, then we waited over an hour for our main course. When we asked when we would get our food, the waiter told us, after he had asked, that there was a social gathering there, and it would be our turn when they had their food. When the food arrived, a Wienerschnitzel-sized dish (2 schnitzels), we were very impressed, then came 3x the Plänchen with green beans, spaetzle and pork fillet, the emphasis is on pan, beans hard, meat hard and you had to search for mushrooms and spaetzle. For the price and the wait, it's outrageous. Such a beautiful restaurant with such a beautiful view is unfortunately not worth what we got for 190 euros. Our companion, who had recommended this restaurant to us, was also visibly surprised.

We had already booked the Nikolaushof for a company party two years ago – the location itself is simply stunning. The view over Würzburg remains unique. For Mother's Day, we wanted to enjoy this special place privately and had reserved a table for 6 adults and one child at 5:30 p.m. We arrived at 5:00 p.m. and were able to sit down right away. Our table was in the back area – when we asked if we could move to one of the front (still free) tables with a nicer view, we were told that this area was reserved for self-service. It was all the more surprising that other guests were seated there a short time later with à la carte options. Unfortunately, the evening took a disappointing turn: After over an hour, there was still no food at the table, not even an appetizer. Since we had booked a taxi to the train station, I went to the kitchen to politely point out our time constraints. They promised to try – but after two hours, we ended up having to take a taxi without food. The service was always friendly and attentive, but the bottleneck was clearly in the kitchen – nevertheless, such an experience on Mother's Day naturally leaves a bitter aftertaste. The disappointment was also palpable at neighboring tables. The bottles of wine "on the house" unfortunately couldn't make up for it. It's a shame – we would have loved to have fond memories of this day.

A Sobering Experience at the Nikolaushof We visited the Nikolaushof around 6:00 p.m. and unfortunately had another disappointing experience. Although the terrace was still mostly empty at that time, almost all of the tables had "reserved" signs. We weren't asked for a reservation, but rather directly whether we wanted something to eat. Since we didn't have a menu yet, we couldn't answer immediately. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to have even a glass of wine on the terrace – despite the apparently numerous free seats. We found the communication to be lacking in service and hospitality. Since we've experienced similar situations several times before, we've decided not to visit the Nikolaushof in the future.

Located high above Würzburg, the Nikolaushof offers a unique view. The food is absolutely excellent, the service is very friendly, and the place has a charm all its own. Very clean restrooms complete the good impression. Parking is available nearby. It's not particularly suitable for wheelchair users due to the many stairs and uneven paths. We highly recommend the Nikolaushof.

The highlight, of course, is the phenomenal view of Würzburg. We sat on the self-service terrace. As long as there isn't a large group waiting to order ahead of you at the self-service counter, everything goes relatively quickly. Since we only had French fries and beer, we can't really judge the food, but everything was fine for us.

I was there with my partner in March. It was already a bit milder during the day, but still very cold at night. The dining area wasn't heated, so some guests sat at their tables in their jackets, and some of the staff also wore extra clothing. The salad we ordered was disappointing, but the vegetable curry was good. When the food was served, some of it was only lukewarm. The prices, however, were very high. All in all, the location is very nice, but unfortunately, the visit wasn't worth repeating or recommending.

Seven of us went to Mother's Day brunch today and we can't confirm the partly subterranean reviews. We were lucky that we were set up outside in this great weather. This means the places are spread out nicely. The buffet was divided in such a way that the same dishes could be accessed on both sides, so there were no long queues. The quality of the food was very good. And from start to finish the service was great, attentive, very friendly. There was also disinfectant in the toilets for the toilet glasses. So it depends on how the guests leave the toilet.

Waiter puts beer on table and doesn't clean. Atmosphere is good, 2 stars for the koi fish

Yes, beautiful view and great ambience. Alsatian tarte flambée and Franconian bratwurst are highly recommended.

I received brunch for three people as a birthday present and was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately for free. It started with the fact that our reserved places (the voucher was issued specifically for this Easter Sunday, but was still reserved separately) were not noted. So we had to forego the brunch room and take a seat on the terrace. Luckily the weather was fairly passable. However, firstly, the chairs are not that comfortable and secondly, the service person responsible for the brunch was very rarely outside. (If he did, then he was friendly and eager to try). The management there, probably the service manager, left a lot to be desired: she used first names (maybe it's in now, but still doesn't suit a restaurant as expensive as the Nikolaushof), she was extremely loud, made fun of us without seriously checking on us. She neither informed us how far the buffet was nor did she bring drinks without special request (which were rarely possible as she didn't feel responsible for our table), nor was it probably beneath her position/dignity to take away used dishes. Unfortunately, pseudo-friendliness cannot hide a lack of service. I would like to give this three minus stars, which unfortunately isn't available here. The food was not labeled (that would be helpful for some products), cold, partly old, dry, inedible, canned fruit, but above all unimaginative and far too little. The hot lunch was oversalted and the meat was tough. At our suggestion, the nice waiter offered us three dishes from the kitchen: Bœuf bourguignon. It was nice and came relatively quickly, but it wasn't boeuf bourguignon, but rather roast beef. Unfortunately, only one of three slices was tender and edible and the sauce was too salty. The Nikolaushof can't do much for the wonderful view as an ambience or for the weather, but it still gets 3 stars for that - minus the not entirely hygienically clean toilets. Very disappointing. I used to enjoy being here, the food was highly recommended. Unfortunately that was it. You definitely lost me as a guest.

We just spontaneously went here for a drink - super relaxed atmosphere with a great view. I would particularly like to highlight Mehdi: extremely friendly, helpful and just really likeable. Good day, I thought about how to write this for a long time. We were really looking forward to Nikolaushof and were completely disappointed. Eat: The soup was cold and had several hairs in it. The waitress didn't notice us. The glasses were still dirty. The main course was ok The positions on the prices were definitely not right. For me it was more of a children's plate with two pieces of meat. We didn't want dessert. Service: We just stood there for about 8 minutes until we were noticed. There were leftover food from previous customers at the table, which can happen. But the fact that we have to wait 20 minutes before we can order drinks is really tough. Ambience: The view is great but the cleanliness at McDonalds is sometimes clean. Conclusion Nikolaushof We won't go again for now

Good reward at the end of our excursion and the visit to the chapel. We were able to enjoy some very beautiful panoramic views along with two glasses of wine and some sausages 😊 100% recommended!

A big compliment to the host! I stopped by and unfortunately it was a rest day. I sat down on the terrace to take a breather and it looked so homely. The innkeeper happened to come by and asked if I would like a coffee. I said yes, but said “they have a rest day”. “No problem,” he said, went and brought me a great cappuccino and gave me that too. That's what I call love for work and really nice guest service. I would like to remember the restaurant for another time because the menu looked really tasty. 🙏🏻

I visited the Nikolaushof for Valentine's Day dinner, where many of my friends raved about the location. So I booked this evening for myself and my wife. First we were welcomed for a drink in the courtyard. Here you could enjoy the view over Würzburg or warm up by the fire. After a short time, the staff assigned us a table and told us when the food would be served. The location inside and out is very beautiful. The service was courteous. For the 4 course dinner: At the beginning there were a few small starters, including dips with white bread. The second course was pumpkin soup, the main course was risotto with kohlrabi and vegetable chips and, for dessert, some ice cream with a small muffin with eggnog cream. It was a bit of a shame that the vegetarian option included a little bit of kohlrabi instead of the chicken poularde, which in my opinion was completely out of proportion to the price, because it was the same as the meat option. If you choose the meat option, the price would still be high, but more justified. All in all, I wouldn't book another event here and maybe just come by for a drink to enjoy the view.

I give full marks, especially for the presentation, ambience and unique view. The character up there is completely different to that of staying in the city.

We were in the restaurant for a 6-course dinner on New Year's Eve 24/25, the table decorations, the service and the drinks were definitely first class. The view over Würzburg and the many fireworks is also unique. What was unacceptable was the fact that the tables including drinks were completely cleared while the guests were admiring the fireworks on the terrace. The New Year's Eve description previously stated that it would end at 1 a.m., but announcing that guests were being kicked out with empty tables, so to speak, is not advertising for such a top restaurant.

We booked the Christmas brunch. First we had to walk across the courtyard in 0 degree weather to get our food in another room. We actually only got a cappuccino after the fourth time we asked. The breakfast was very simple. The scrambled eggs offered were simply placed in the bowl, unwarmed, in front of the door, which was always open. Fish, such as smoked salmon, was not refrigerated. Lunch was dry (fish) and cold (beans and potatoes). The two people responsible on site were never open to the criticism of many guests. People were fobbed off with the answer “and what should we do now?” Dear Nikolaushof, you can't always excuse yourself with the great view!

We took part in the gala dinner on New Year's Eve 2024/25. It was the first event of this kind for us and it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The food was very good, the courses varied and the portions more than sufficient. The wines were well chosen and you could order as many as you wanted. The organization was fluid and the timing was perfect. We ate dinner from 7:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with the breaks between courses never being too long. The food came hot in every course and at the same time for each table. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the guests were also pleasant. Initially the price per person seemed high to us, but now I have to say the evening was worth the price in every respect. We will come back. Thank you for the lovely New Year's Eve celebration.

Hello everyone, I was invited as a guest to the Christmas brunch in the barn on December 26th, 2024 (Boxing Day), so my name is not shown in the reservation book. Unfortunately, I had to realize that the entire Christmas brunch process, no structure and no planning was in place, as well as the distribution of space was an outrage and a catastrophe. I wasn't the only guest here who had this opinion, I suspect almost all the guests who received the table in the hut, barn and pavilion. I would like to explain the events in a little more detail. First of all, we had made a reservation for 5 people. In the “Barn” restaurant, we were allocated space on site at a table that would actually only have been for 4 people. The position of the table was to get up and walk past the other chairs/guests without disturbing them, it was very narrow at around 15 cm. So the second step was a table in the “Pavilion” restaurant. Since we were in a single hut with other guests, the food was not always available and was replenished very late. The table position of the small buffet could also have been chosen better here and not in the area of ​​the open entrance door. You had to get various dishes in the barn, the path then led back and forth across the courtyard back to the table in the pavilion. Everything wasn't designed so ideally. You should receive a partial refund of the price here because of the absolutely catastrophic poor planning and implementation by the management staff. The person I felt very sorry for during this entire service process was the service staff; they primarily noticed all the frustration and annoyance from the guests present. I hereby give 5 stars to the operating staff. It was a very tense atmosphere and you can also confirm the situation. I remain in a positive message from you regarding a partial refund. Yesterday we had our Christmas menu in the Nikolaushof and to sum up it has dropped off massively. Marketing and location isn’t everything. We were very happy about the invitation and reservation confirmation. When you arrive on site, the entrance area appears completely untidy. The wine bottles and boxes are supposed to look modern but they're just not tidy. The organization was nothing. First food comes and then they ask for drinks. For this price it was nothing, neither the food nor the service justified this price. That has decreased massively. Only mass processing. The atmosphere from previous years is gone. We enjoyed staying at the Nikolaushof for many years, but unfortunately that's over because for the money, unfortunately, no. Not recommended, at least if it stays that way.

We were at the barn for Christmas brunch in 2024. If it continues to be offered like this, we cannot recommend it. The seating was far too narrow and many people couldn't even sit properly at the tables. The room would have really benefited from 10-20 fewer people. In some cases, registered groups could not sit together because there were simply not enough seats at the tables. The food was okay, but the buffet was far too crowded for the many people. At this price (excluding drinks), a recommendation in this form is simply not advisable.

A mixed evening at Nikolaus Hof Our experience at Nikolaus Hof started promisingly: a breathtaking panorama, accompanied by a magical Christmas landscape and atmospheric atmosphere. But unfortunately our lovely evening suffered a few setbacks, ranging from minor inconveniences to serious disappointment. The meal started solidly with a starter of lamb's lettuce and spicy pickled pumpkin, which there was nothing wrong with. However, we then had to wait a full 50 minutes for the main course, even though it was ordered at the same time as the starter. After this long wait, the dishes finally arrived - but unfortunately they did not live up to expectations. The duck was a bit tough and clearly overcooked, while the salmon was disappointing: not only was it completely unseasoned, but it was also accompanied by a side dish of broccoli, the consistency of which was more reminiscent of carrots. After a reasonable break, dessert followed, but it was also disappointing. The cinnamon cake seemed to come from the freezer and the baked apple was difficult to enjoy as the unremoved peel significantly detracted from the eating experience. In summary, although the evening started solidly, the food did not maintain its “solidarity” status. With better kitchen performance, this experience could have lived up to its promising start.

Unfortunately I have to give one star and can't deduct a star. We had the booked brunch on Christmas Day. The organization was completely underground. We had to go across the yard ourselves to get our food. The selection was very clear and not worth the money. We asked the service manager and managing director about it, but they were very indifferent. Two thirds of the guests also complained and wanted to speak to the management, but the management did not show up to the guests/customers (I am not sure that we are seen as such).

We were here for Christmas brunch on December 25th, 2024. The reception was very friendly. Unfortunately the buffet started 30 minutes late. The small room was far too fully booked. It doesn't create a festive mood. Some of the food was not of the quality of this restaurant class. Some of the rolls were hard and dry, like two days old. Also not enough available. The waitresses were disorganized. Cutlery and plates were always missing. We expected more for this price. Very unfortunate. 😔

As an otherwise big fan of the Nikolaushof, we are extremely disappointed after today's Advent brunch! For €60 per person, not only we but also all the other guests expected to sit down in a cozy, festive atmosphere and relax and help themselves to a delicious and varied buffet. Instead, this is what awaited us: As if we were sitting on a chicken coop, we were sitting in the barn that was completely overbooked; it was impossible to even get to our seat, let alone get to the buffet. Some guests were spontaneously moved out due to lack of space and had to walk across the courtyard to the overcrowded buffet. It is understandable and to be tolerated that there are problems with processes and mistakes happen, especially at Christmas. But what was offered here was an absolute disgrace! Against this background, it almost became irrelevant that the food tasted bland at best. Maybe and hopefully this was an unpleasant exception that shouldn't happen to an institution like the Nikolaushof. ADDENDUM: Parts of our buffet society are currently complaining about feeling unwell.

Great location overlooking the city. The cuisine is good, but at a fairly average level - the establishment is not for connoisseurs. If you understand how to properly cook duck breast or fondue, then this is not the place for you. You will be served food that is quite edible, but it will not taste good... The staff is kind, the waiters are quite nice, but they also don’t live up to the stated level...

We were here with a group. All in all good. We only noticed one point that was a bit negative. When the food was served, the waitress instructed us to please distribute it ourselves. I find it difficult when it comes to pricing. But everything else was fine.

One of the absolute best restaurants in Würzburg. Very good service, very carefully maintained restaurant with very good cuisine. But the real crowning glory is the unique location with a view of the whole of Wü, where the restaurant is without competition. Highly recommended. We ourselves have been regular customers for 15 years.

No question, the main reason for visiting the restaurant is certainly the great view over Würzburg within walking distance of the Käppele. I can't complain much about the quality of the food, it's always been fine for me. However, the size of the portions for the main courses is also rather manageable, but the price quoted is all the more hefty. The biggest drawback for me, however, is the service. There are a lot of untrained and sometimes completely clumsy people here. There is always loud chatter coming from the kitchen, which doesn't seem very professional. Guests are often responded to late or not at all upon arrival - there is clear potential for improvement here.

Top food, with super friendly staff at the self-service counter. The view over the city is unique and definitely worth a visit. The price is a bit high but it's worth it.

Delicious food with a great view over Würzburg with great staff that makes you feel welcome in this location. Can recommend the Tafelspitz and the Cheese Fondue they are two of my favourite choices there.

We didn't enjoy anything here except the view. Even after 40 minutes and several waves, we weren't served, so we finally left. We've never experienced anything like this before.
