We ate here in the evening as part of a Tesm excursion and were not disappointed. Nice atmosphere, super friendly service (greetings to Ms. Chef In 😉) and extremely delicious food. The portions were large and really tasty… Anytime again… 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Very chic shop, the service was very friendly and quick. I was more than satisfied with the food. I would come back if I hadn't just been in Würzburg for a weekend.

Great service, friendly and accommodating. We had Schäuferle which tasted very good. Unfortunately everything was lukewarm, even though there were almost no guests there.

Unfortunately, I have never eaten such bad Kaiserschmarrn before. Roast pork was OK but dumplings were not good. The location is nice and the location is good.

We stopped by this great restaurant by chance. Even though there were a lot of reservations, we still got a really nice table. The waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable. The food came very quickly and was gone just as quickly because it was simply top class. The portions were also quite large so that everyone would be full. Thank you!

Nice atmosphere and delicious food

Hello I like to eat Schäufele but what's on the plate... has nothing to do with Schäufele at all... Meat very hard and chewy... Also no seasoning on the meat or sauce... not to mention the service... unfriendly and you have to beg for every drink... And the inn was only half full... no question for me... no one can get me here anymore...

Easy reservation, nice location, good service, delicious food and drinks, reasonable prices... and the dog 🐕 was allowed with us too.

There was a separate lunch menu. When I ordered haxen and schnitzel from the lunch menu, they recommended the original schnitzel. The recommendation was good~^^

A good decision if you are in Würzburg and are looking for something special on the Main. The attentive and friendly staff take care of your physical well-being in an exemplary manner. Good regional cuisine was what I wanted and I got my money's worth with Schaufele, as I also experienced at the next table. A year later I can only confirm the good impression from the first visit!

The overall package fits and dogs are also welcome.

My compliments for perfect performance in all areas. Food, service, ambience simply great. I almost didn't go in because the prices on the outside display seemed too high. Once inside, we quickly discovered that the Franconian roast pork was great and cost a fair 15 euros. So we'd love to come back. In summer, the romantic terrace directly on the Main with a view of the Würzburg Residence is definitely a hit.

Quaint, pretty busy and open every day. Just drank a glass of wine.

BOA awesome mega 🤩🤩🤩 The only drawback for us: toilets on our evening could have been improved.

Really bad Kaiserschmarrn. It wasn't possible without raisins, so it wasn't fresh, which is what you tasted. Not enough service staff, we had to wait a long time, I actually wanted something but after 20 minutes I didn't feel like waiting anymore.

Beer garden located directly on the Main that impresses with its size. A slightly better view of the Main would be desirable (small hedge trimming). The drinks are delicious, the food tastes good, but very expensive. For example, €12 for 2 white sausages and 1 pretzel is almost outrageous, even if prices have generally increased. But a single pretzel there costs €1.50, so I pay more than €10 for 2 small white sausages... Service is great. Recommendation, with one “but”.

Despite the high volume of people, everything was well organized and the food was on the table within 15 minutes. The service staff were super nice and had everything under control.

The food was delicious but given the very nice gastronomy, one or two dishes could have been prepared a little more appetizingly 4 out of 5. We sat outside and felt very comfortable. Regarding the service, the waiters were nice and quick, but the usher basically ruined half of our day. We had reserved a table long in advance for a 70th birthday and a dozen people. We were then split up and couldn't eat together, even though there was a very simple solution despite reservations. However, the person assigning us seats became very unfriendly and, in a very inappropriate tone, refused to allow us to move to another table so that we didn't have to sit with our backs to each other. Very unfriendly and disorganized. But hopefully it was an isolated personal case.

We spontaneously went to the Altes Kranen for our wedding anniversary after our actual reservation could unfortunately not be maintained elsewhere. My companion spontaneously remembered that we had wanted to eat there for a long time. I've already celebrated my birthday here (2019), applied to work behind the bar (2015) and have done so countless times (including tapping beer kegs) at the Old Kranen. It's simply an institution in Würzburg. The service is simply bomb! Here you can tell that the owner (and of course every single service person) attaches great importance to the fact that everything is always 110% - you rarely have this feeling in the restaurant. But I also assume that there are still training dates like the “cocktail course” that I was able to experience in 2015. We were greeted within a few seconds of arriving at the beer garden and were able to be assigned a table (the beer garden was packed). My companion dropped a knife, which was immediately picked up and told to take a new one - it's these "little" things that make a service simply great. Yesterday the ambience was once again wonderful, sitting under this green "roof" made of plants. And when the lighting comes on, everything looks even more dreamlike. From some places you can definitely see the Main and the fortress - but as a "local" I've never paid attention to it here. Unfortunately, our meal (crane schnitzel and sliced ​​meat) wasn't so good yesterday. However, yesterday, after donating blood, I had already eaten something immediately beforehand. Then maybe it was Just too much :D But neither my companion nor I really liked the chicken in the sliced ​​meat. All in all, I will definitely come back!

We had to sit at 2 separate tables even though it was possible to sit together. We will definitely not be celebrating our next family celebration in May 2025 in the Old Kranen.

Very nice cozy restaurant. We had previously reserved a table for 7 p.m. The Franconian bratwurst and roast pork tasted very tasty, as did the accompanying Mönchshofer Kellerbier. The service was very friendly and attentive. Fantastic view outside of the Main, the fortress and the Main Bridge!

Large beer garden in the immediate vicinity of the Main. We were there with a group. You had barely ordered before the food was there. Often you wait too long, but here it was the other way around. It happened way too fast. Apparently they rely on short dwell times. The food was at a good canteen level. Nothing more, nothing less.

Late in the evening we were still hungry. Off to the restaurant we would receive a very warm and friendly welcome. The drinks were in front of you in no time. Eating also happened very quickly. Good large portions and good taste too.

We often come to this nice and cozy restaurant and have already tried many dishes. Pork beards, sauerbraten and Schäufele were always very good, the soups were skillful, but the Kranenschnitzel was seasoned a little too blandly, which can be corrected at the table. The service is absolutely friendly and there is nothing to complain about in terms of price. You can't ask for more for this location, quality and service. We'll definitely be back soon.

Beautiful atmosphere with a beer garden. Upscale food that has legitimately higher prices. Service courteous and pleasant. It should be reserved in advance. There are vegetarian dishes, but also Franconian dishes for large and small appetites. There is a paid parking space under the restaurant.

Very tasty, large portions The schnitzel with fries was great, schnitzel crispy, fries crunchy Roast pork with potato dumplings, I'm not a fan of potato dumplings but this one was so good!!! Our service was very friendly and professional. All in all, we will come there again and enjoy the food in a wonderful, authentic, atmosphere.

The beer garden is in a great location and very inviting. The beer comes to the table in no time and tastes good. We were satisfied with the food, but I also ate better in Würzburg. The sauce for the Schäufele didn't have the right consistency and the Schäufele was a bit better elsewhere. We found the self-service part of the beer garden catastrophic: there were only young and inexperienced employees who, to be honest, had little idea of ​​what they were supposed to be doing...

Not again so soon. Service was unfriendly and food was simply not good for the price. No more mass processing. My meat was overcooked, hard and almost black, and the sauce had already formed a skin when I served it. We mentioned this to service and a simple “hm ok” was received. I don't expect a discount or anything, but a "sorry, I'll pass it on to the kitchen" or a coffee on the house wouldn't have hurt anyone.

When in Würzburg than tasting typical German delicacies in this restaurant is a must! Personell always near to help and compete your order if wanted. Cozy as well as a place with a terrace with a wonderful view and/or feeling of being near the river and beautiful downtown. The bridge is very near, and you should not miss a walk on the bridge as well as a glass of local wine while strolling. Food tastes delicious and I recommend this restaurant. 😋

If in Rome...exactly. Our first time in Würzburg and we wanted to taste and enjoy local cuisine. Very nice staff and fast operation and service. We really enjoyed our choice: roast pork, pork schnitzel and apple fritters. If we had been there longer we would have gone a second time. Food was good, price/performance and ambience too, we would have liked to have stayed longer. But we, two people, were seated at a large table on the wall that served as a bench at 6 p.m., despite making a prior reservation and being told there would be no problem and free choice. During our entire stay, which was shorter than planned due to the uncomfortable seating, there were both tables for 2 and 4 available on the terrace! It's a shame, so the location was changed after dinner.

The Alter Kranen restaurant is located directly on the Mainkai near the stone bridge. Rustically furnished inside and with a cozy beer garden outside, the restaurant offers a delicious selection of Franconian specialties and an extensive range of drinks. We have rarely eaten such a delicious dark beer sauce with Schäufele. The staff were friendly and quick and the price/performance ratio was right during our visit.
