Not entirely consistent – ​​what a shame! We had eaten there and wanted something to drink afterwards. The waiter took the order and brought our drinks. Unfortunately, we were then asked to leave by the "supervisor" - with the information that our stay was limited to 1.5 hours. It's not okay to take orders and then ask guests out mid-drink. A simple: “Sorry, your reservation is about to end” would have been enough. So unfortunately it felt very rude.

Even as a larger group, the food arrived at the table at the same time. The service worked smoothly. The food was good. However, we had reserved. Without a reservation we probably wouldn't have gotten a table.

We were here today on a Saturday with great weather from the afternoon until the evening. Very busy, people were queuing. Nevertheless, we were served very attentively and friendly. Everything was very professional, we would love to come back 😊

We visited and toured the sights of Würzburg extensively, e.g. B. Residence, St. Kilian Cathedral. We had dinner at the Alter Krsnen inn. There were Franconian dishes here that tasted very good 👍. They were served by very friendly waiters. Nothing is missing. The restaurant is also very good 👍 suitable for larger groups. We can recommend it.

This inn impresses with its beer garden and beautiful view of the fortress. The friendly service and the short waiting time for the delicious food (5 people) were great. Table reservations are recommended as the inn is very popular. We can only recommend a visit and we will be happy to come back!

Had lunch on May 2nd, 2025. I had reserved in advance. I was welcomed and assigned to a table. I had the lime-mint water to drink which was very strong and good. Almost like lemonade. For the main course I had the roast pork. There is a side salad, since I didn't want it I was offered if I would like a third dumpling. I find that very friendly and it made me happy. The roast pork and the dumplings were very tasty. The only thing I could complain about would be that my plate was warmer than the food. One usually expects hot food. Mine was the perfect temperature for eating. For dessert I had the apple fritters with vanilla ice cream and cream. These were also excellent and the combination with vanilla ice cream was perfect. The price was also completely reasonable for this location. Roast pork: €14.90 Apple fritters: €6.90 Lime-mint drink: €3.90 The service was always friendly and the food came very quickly.

At first glance it's a classic "tourist trap". However, I was also traveling as such ;-) But everything was great. Not overpriced. The location is beautiful, the outdoor terrace is fantastic. You hardly notice the traffic on the main road passing by.; At least it didn't bother me. The service was quick, attentive and friendly. My food came quickly. Almost too fast. This suggests that a certain part is pre-cooked and is just being warmed up. The sauce for the sauerbraten wasn't really hot anymore either. It still tasted good. If the weather is nice, I'll definitely come back when I'm in Würzburg.

We came here spontaneously for dinner. Although it's better to make a reservation, we were short on time. Nevertheless, we found a cozy spot. The drinks we ordered arrived very quickly (Würzburger Hofbräu from a wooden barrel, very tasty), and the food also arrived quite promptly. The server was extremely friendly, and with a full house—I think that's what they call "professional service"—it was a real treat. A clear recommendation for rustic and regional food and drinks! We'll definitely be back!

The Alter Kranen Restaurant is a wonderful place to relax after a stroll through the city. The rustic furnishings and, above all, the good food have made me stop by there several times. The service is fast and first class, at this point I would like to thank Hilal for her kindness. I'll definitely come back. Price and performance are right here.

Classic brewery inn with a large beer garden in a fantastic location directly on the Main with a view of the Marienberg Fortress. Good quality Bavarian and Franconian delicacies, and delicious local beer. The staff are on their toes and the waiting time is pleasantly short, even at peak times.

Delicious Franconian food, served promptly. Outside, there's a wonderful beer garden, right on the Main River with a view of the fortress.

Fast and friendly service. The pork knuckle and beer were excellent. The beer garden with a view of the old Main Bridge is a great place to linger.

Relatively cheap, but the portion could have been a little larger. All in all, a good choice. In summer you can sit outside and have a beautiful view of the castle.

We spontaneously made a reservation at the Alte Kranen on our way to Würzburg, which was the right decision. It was very busy, even on a Thursday! The beer and the food were delicious. As a northern German, I naturally eat Franconian cuisine in Franconia. It's very tasty and plentiful! If I ever find myself in Würzburg again, the Brauerei Gaststätte will be at the top of my list.

Our food arrived super quickly. We both enjoyed it. I particularly liked that my veggie burger was topped with dried tomatoes, among other things. I've never had anything like that before. I thought it was appropriate and really tasty. 🤗 Both portions were more than sufficient, that's our subjective opinion. The service staff were well-coordinated. Everyone was friendly. When the weather is right, it's a lovely place to sit outside. 👍👍 We highly recommend it.

Too slow! Our order was taken after 40 minutes and the food came 1 hour later :( Food was cold when we got it. Unfortunately the cheese spaetzle didn't taste like anything - too expensive for that! Waitress overwhelmed. Unfortunately, we do not recommend this.

We were looking forward to a lovely evening in the Alter Kranen restaurant. When we arrived we were not greeted, but were immediately told in a friendly manner that the table would only be available to us for 1 1/2 hours. There's nothing fundamentally wrong with that, but the gentleman's unfriendly manner isn't acceptable at all. Time to politely greet guests should be a normal process or act of politeness. It's probably not for everyone... In hindsight, we should have left... Two minutes after ordering the dishes, the starters arrived. After we had eaten these (we gave ourselves extra time because we had seen through the scam) and the plates were cleared, the main courses arrived again after about a minute. These have apparently been under a thermal bridge since the order was placed. The sauce already had a skin on it, the Schäufele didn't come off the bone well and the red cabbage was also dried out and more brown than red. It was very disappointing and we don't recommend it. Tourist restaurant. The motto “mass rather than class” obviously applies here. Very large restaurant and therefore a very high noise level. We then quickly left the restaurant so that the table could be given away again, the euro has to roll... and ended the lovely evening we had hoped for in a wine bistro on the old Main bridge. We're looking forward to our two upcoming holidays in France. There is nothing like that, you are welcome in the restaurant and can enjoy your food and get more for your money.

We arrived on a Saturday evening without a reservation and were accommodated without any problems. The food and service were quick and it was also delicious.

Good BUT BEWARE of waiter Marcos . You made it very PERSONAL It was fabulous food, great beer but beware when asking the bill , i even didn't get the overview and had to pay 15€ more than what had in mind. I wAs charged an extra portion that we didn't order. In the end after complaining i got my money back but the waiter was rude and stressed. He almost threw money on the counter and had to pick a euro coin from the ground. It was very embarrassing and uncomfortable. I didn't say anything back to avoid further escalation. THIS WAS ONE OF THE WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE ---> waiter Marcos, I hope you find a better suited job.

We reserved a table in front of it. After waiting at the table for an hour, we were asked for our order. The burger was very dry and hard. After the first bite everything fell apart. Not recommended anymore. The service people constantly ignored us.

Six of us had dinner last night and had a very good experience overall. The highlight of the evening was less the food, but clearly our service! She was funny, warm and made our evening sweeter with her friendly manner. A small mishap with the Baileys was treated with humor by everyone, which made the atmosphere even more relaxed. We were given a table with the advice that we would please not have more than 90 minutes. No problem. Service friendly and quick. With our drink order we also wanted to order food, whereupon the waiter said we would make drinks first. Drinks came quickly and after ordering the food, it felt like it took less than a minute until cheese spaetzle and spinach dumplings with carrot and kohlrabi vegetables and side salads were on the table. Fresh is definitely different. Everything overcooked, mushy, soggy. Unfortunately our expectations were not met. But we were out again quickly.

The portions are mega, the price is very reasonable, rather cheap for this quality!!! The service was on point and the food didn't take long to arrive!!! For us another “must go” for Würzburg!!!!!

Unfortunately, the quality of the food doesn't match the beautiful ambience. Schäufele was dry, red cabbage was completely overcooked and there was sauce from Maggi with it.

After dinner we stopped by the Alten Kranen for a beer 🍺 and were served politely. Next time we'll go there for dinner too. Keep it up.
