A truly lovely little café gem in Bad Vilbel! The location is fantastic – modern, bright, decorated with great attention to detail, and simply a wonderfully pleasant atmosphere where you can immediately relax. In summer, the terrace is very inviting, and in winter, you feel right at home inside. The coffee is top-notch: whether flat white, cappuccino, or filter coffee – everything tastes exceptional; you can tell they brew really good coffee here. And the selection of cakes… truly impressive! Very varied, visually stunning, and almost everything is homemade or from excellent producers. The cakes and pastries taste as good as they look – there's very little to disappoint here. The only slight drawback: the prices are considerably higher than what you'd normally pay in the area. Two coffees and two slices of cake quickly add up to €20–25, which is quite steep. Therefore, for me, Wewe is more of a special treat every 4-6 weeks (if that), and not my weekly café regular. But if you're consciously looking for something truly lovely, delicious, and with a feel-good atmosphere – highly recommended!

We first took a tour of the brewery, which is highly recommended, and then had a meal.

We were a group of eight. The food tasted okay, but overall it was rather standard. Unfortunately, several dishes were served lukewarm or cold. The service was friendly, but poorly organized. We sat for a long time with empty plates and glasses, even though the restaurant wasn't busy, and some orders were forgotten. On the plus side, the location was nice and clean, there was plenty of free parking, and the price was fair for the location and the food. Unfortunately, the coffee was weak and bitter, and the restrooms weren't clean. Overall, it wasn't a great experience, so we wouldn't recommend it.

The next room was still very loud, and the waiter was shouting too.

Unfortunately, I have to completely revise my positive review from before the change of ownership. We ate there on Boxing Day. While the staff was very friendly and the food arrived quickly—all eight meals arrived less than 10 minutes after we ordered—the food was cold, and the duck was tough, like it had been left over from the day before and hadn't been reheated enough. The rainbow trout tasted quite good, but it was also only lukewarm. Even my great-grandmother, who usually only manages half a portion and takes the rest home, easily finished the overpriced portion of Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle). Serving the tiramisu for €3.90 in a tiny tealight holder was the final straw. The price was in no way justified! On a positive note, they did cater to our dietary needs.

It's sad to see such a traditional restaurant fall into such disrepair. The food (at our Christmas party) looked and tasted like pre-made frozen meals. Unacceptable at these prices. The ambiance is usually lovely, but at this time of year, it's just been hastily dressed up for Christmas. The only positive aspect was the excellent waiter, who was organized and friendly, expertly resolving all the kitchen mishaps. It's a shame; we used to enjoy coming here.

Excellent location, friendly service staff. My sauerbraten was absolutely perfect, a very generous portion. The Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) were also good. Price, service, and quality are all very well balanced. We spontaneously booked a table for four people via the website. Overall, everything was excellent, we'll gladly come back. It's all mass processing. Everything is far too cramped. And we were basically thrown out after eating.

The food was cold and tasteless; they skimped on everything (cranberries, etc.). We had a reservation until 2 pm and were kicked out at 1 pm because the next group was already waiting. There were 30 of us! We weren't even allowed to finish our drinks.

We ate there on December 25th, 2025. The food was cold – the potato salad was ice-cold and the salmon trout lukewarm. It was presented without any care. There were large chunks of potato. The price was far too high for what we got. We went home hungry. The staff, however, were very friendly.

Unfortunately, there were no children's menus on Christmas Day (December 25, 2025), let alone a dish with fries for the kids, which we found very disappointing. The Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) cost €15.90, a very small portion (even my wife finished it easily). And a bowl of beef broth with garnish for €7.90 – those are some pretty steep prices. The service and atmosphere are excellent. However, the price-performance ratio is very high and borderline unacceptable. We probably won't be coming back!

Unfortunately, it wasn't a pleasant experience... We had a reservation for 25 people in the main building/conservatory for Christmas. We were assured it was confirmed. Unfortunately, we arrived today, December 25th, and were seated in a dark, rustic, and dimly lit room. My mother-in-law ordered a Spezi (a German soft drink), but was told that Spezi wasn't served in that room... I don't know why... Only after complaining to the (according to her) manager was the Spezi served as a courtesy (since we had actually reserved a table in the main dining room). Then there was a very limited food selection. I can understand reducing the menu, but the selection was truly insufficient for a Christmas dinner. We were allowed to order meals from the regular menu for the children. Unfortunately, there were no fries or bratwurst. The atmosphere finally turned into laughter when my nephew ordered a tiramisu for €3.90 and received a tea light filled with it. The server tried his best, but it was clear he was overwhelmed. ... No Christmas there anymore. Six people left early and ordered food elsewhere... That shouldn't happen; there's a lot of room for improvement. Please try harder...

We were guests at the Hofbräukeller today. It was very busy, of course, it being Christmas Day. The server wasn't particularly friendly and seemed stressed. When she dropped something, she cursed loudly. Otherwise, she was fine. The food, however, was very good; we all agreed on that. Our table was next to the entrance, and the door was constantly open, so it was bitterly cold. Perhaps it would be an option to attach the thick curtain on the side. Our feet were freezing, and we wrapped our winter jackets around our legs. We would definitely come again in the summer.

We had a wonderful evening! Friendly welcome, very nice service, and excellent food. My favorite: the suckling pig knuckle. We'll definitely be back!

Absolutely fantastic. The phone reservation process was pleasant. The friendly staff went above and beyond to accommodate requests, even at short notice. The atmosphere was wonderful. Despite the successful renovation, the building's charm has been preserved. The food arrived quickly and tasted delicious. The portions are generous, even for hearty eaters, and the prices are very reasonable. A large parking lot right outside is also a great bonus. Reservations are highly recommended.

To kick off a cozy evening with delicious food, we were served a "beer tasting platter" featuring some beers brewed on-site. I'd never experienced anything like it before and found it very interesting from the start. We were a group of over 20 colleagues (with a reservation) enjoying a relaxed atmosphere and having a wonderful time. Despite the spacious restaurant being quite busy on a Thursday evening, the service was absolutely professional, and our food order arrived promptly. The tasty dishes, made with many regional ingredients, were perfectly combined with professional service that I found to be very friendly, attentive, and not at all intrusive. I wish there were more restaurants like this. Highly recommended! Unfortunately, I can't comment on the parking situation because we were dropped off right at the door by bus, so I didn't pay attention to parking.

We had our Christmas party at the Hofbräuhaus. The food was delicious, and despite the large crowd, there were no waiting times. I only have one complaint, and it's a real disgrace for a Hofbräuhaus. Filling the beer glasses only to 2 cm below the fill line is unacceptable. I complained about the first one, had it refilled, but didn't mind the second. My colleagues had similar experiences. Someone should definitely bring this to the attention of the bartender.

The Hofbräukeller architecturally blends its traditional, original furnishings with the new conservatory extension, which serves as the main building. The restaurant has a wonderful brewery inn atmosphere with several dining rooms. This allows you to experience the Hofbräukeller in both modern and traditional styles. The service is quick and friendly. The food is also very delicious. These days, you can easily spend a lot of money eating out, so we ourselves go to restaurants less often than we used to. But here, the value for money and the ambiance are just right for us. We were very satisfied and thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the meal.

I was a regular here long before the beer garden was renovated – with family, friends, colleagues, often several times a month. Just yesterday, I was here with friends and quite naturally tipped a friendly young waitress €2. But what I experienced today was simply disappointing and disrespectful. An extremely unfriendly waiter deliberately addressed me in English, even though I spoke clear German – apparently assuming I was a tourist and could be deceived. As soon as I ordered, I was told I had to add a €1 tip. I've never experienced anything like this in all my eight years in Germany. The two beers were placed on the table without a word, without asking who they were for – and the waiter just walked on. No greeting, no eye contact, no courtesy. I'm happy to tip if the service is good – but this behavior was a disgrace. This is not how you treat regulars. This is not how you treat guests at all. We consciously didn't seek conflict at that moment—our children were there, and both my husband and I place great importance on good manners. But inside, I was stunned. And what hurt me most: I felt like I was treated differently because of my appearance or my background—despite communicating clearly in German. A form of silent but tangible discrimination that should have no place in our society. I won't be coming back—and I won't recommend this place to anyone. I'm not a Chinese person, I'm not a Chinese person.

Went there for dinner yesterday, spontaneously, not the first time. Unfortunately, it seemed like an even worse day than usual. The food, from the soups to the main course, was lukewarm - cold! The dumplings were very watery on the outside and hard in the middle, as if they had been in water for too long, cooled down and then reheated - and we wondered why so many went back - we got the answer after we got ours. The sauce was cold, and there was very little and relatively tasteless. The festive soup tasted like ready-made products for €7.90 - not acceptable. Of course, I informed the extremely nice waiter about this - his reply: "I've heard several times today that the food is cold" - he passed it on to the kitchen.... There's nothing to complain about the ambience or the staff - but the food is just not good. If you prefer a quieter atmosphere, then this is not the place for you - it's very noisy inside.

Unfortunately, the waiter treated me very disrespectfully. I didn't feel welcome. The menu wasn't suitable for me - they could explore what works better with the individual components. (Perhaps a dish that combines a bratwurst or a steak with cheese spaetzle.) Perhaps add meat to the additional side dish section and make possible adjustments more transparent. The iced tea and the tarte flambée were great; it would also be cool to offer cocktails and create them myself. After this experience, I will unfortunately not be a guest in the future, but I wish you continued success and hope something like this doesn't happen again.

Very tasty German food! Everything was deliciously prepared, and the Brathändle (a German sausage) in particular blew us away. The service could have been a bit faster, but the staff were pleasant and friendly. The interior is very inviting and appropriately decorated. A beer garden as you'd imagine it, shaded by mature trees, spaciously laid out, and traditionally furnished. There's also a secure area where children can play safely. The service was good; you might have to expect a bit of a wait depending on the occupancy. The food was very wholesome and quite satisfying. It could have been a bit warmer for me—but that's a matter of taste, as we all know.

The first impression: wow! The location is a real highlight. The lovingly designed beer garden invites you to linger, the interior dining area is stylish, charming, and furnished with a great eye for detail. A real investment has been made here – at least in the visual aspect. All the more disappointing, then, is what ends up on the plates. The food is – with all due respect – a bitter disappointment. Carelessly prepared, the taste is bland to questionable, and the quality is at best cafeteria-level. I would have expected much more from a restaurant that presents itself in such an appealing ambiance. What remains is the feeling of a missed opportunity. So much could be done here – with a cuisine that even comes close to meeting the high standards of the surrounding area, this place could be a real insider tip. Instead, you leave with a disappointed palate and the impression that the potential has been left hanging at the kitchen door. Conclusion: If you're just stopping by for a drink in a pleasant atmosphere, you won't be disappointed. However, if you value good food, you should lower your expectations considerably – or better yet, eat somewhere else.

Upon arrival, the staff ignores you unless you're following someone directly. Drinks listed on the menu aren't available (on a Friday night). At some point, you finally get the idea to go shopping... The food was served before the drinks even arrived. I ordered the wrong food, and they don't accommodate any food intolerances. And last but not least, I was overcharged. The food was okay for a beer garden, and the ambiance was nice. Parking is also good (parking tickets can be validated). All in all, we were very disappointed. What a shame.

I think the operators' expectations are significantly higher than reality. The price is simply too high for direct marketing of beer. The same applies to the food. But the service was absolutely abysmal. We probably just had bad luck with our waiter. 🤷 But if I have to wait 30 minutes for a beer, he can't even maintain eye contact with his customers, and I have to order from my colleagues only to get the wrong beer, then this is simply not worthy of a beer garden. Once again, I was at the Hofbräu beer garden. The cheese spaetzle was an absolute disaster. The service could have been better. What I have to say is, why aren't the owners taking action? The ambiance is absolutely fantastic. Why doesn't the investor/manager see this? There's potential. One can only wish that things will get better.

Yesterday, June 20, 2025, at 4:50 p.m., we wanted to try the Hofbräukeller again, as the previous owner, Henke, only served lukewarm beer. Well, about seven employees, probably minimum wage earners, just stared at us disinterestedly; no one came to us. We left this impossible beer garden, thirsty, at 5:10 p.m., even though it wasn't very busy.

Eight of us went for dinner in the evening. First, a positive: The place is really nice, the drinks were delicious, from the homemade lemonade to the beer and the Sarti Spritz. Furthermore, the main server was always attentive and friendly. The food, however, was very disappointing. I should have read the reviews beforehand, because I can only agree with the criticisms. The chicken seems to be a frozen industrial product. In any case, the breading is high. It was evidently prepared well in advance and kept warm, as it was very dry on the outside. It also had that rancid taste that develops when you heat fat to a high temperature for frying and then leave it at low heat for a long time. Overall, most of the dishes were lukewarm. Unfortunately, the salad was very soggy. We sent back two dishes. Even though we only took a few bites, they told us that we shouldn't have eaten any of the food if it wasn't good. The complaint was therefore unacceptable. I understand the point, considering half of it was already gone. But in fact, there was still well over three-quarters of the portion left on the plate. Another argument was that the chicken and salad were often ordered and usually not complained about. In the end, we were given a drink—one drink in total for two meals. This meant that we had to order something else to eat later elsewhere. I would have much preferred the criticism to have been received more positively. I understand that you have to develop and test suitable concepts first. But I should always be open to honest criticism. A chicken like that and lukewarm, slightly rotten salad can be a health risk. That's a shame, because the location is so beautiful and offers so much potential. Conclusion: only great for a beer. The food, not so much. Unless the quality of the food isn't that important to you.

A very nice old beer garden under new management. Super friendly service and good food! Unfortunately, there's no real playground anymore, just a sandpit. There used to be a huge climbing frame.
