We reserved a table for two because I wanted to celebrate my birthday there. We arrived 20 minutes early and were turned away because the table was still occupied. We then went for a short walk and returned to find that the same person at reception (whom we were told was the event manager) asked about our reservation again and then seated us at a dirty table. The service was also lacking, as the waiter barely showed up. I had indicated in the reservation that it was my birthday, but this was completely ignored. Nevertheless, thank you for this truly disappointing experience. The only positive: the food is excellent!

We had our Christmas party at the Hofbräuhaus. The food was delicious, and despite the large crowd, there were no waiting times. I only have one complaint, and it's a real disgrace for a Hofbräuhaus. Filling the beer glasses only to 2 cm below the fill line is unacceptable. I complained about the first one, had it refilled, but didn't mind the second. My colleagues had similar experiences. Someone should definitely bring this to the attention of the bartender.

A very charming, very old Würzburg restaurant. Newly renovated. Ideal for both Christmas parties and a lovely dinner. Excellent and attentive service. Absolutely mid-range prices. Definitely worth a visit.

The Hofbräukeller architecturally blends its traditional, original furnishings with the new conservatory extension, which serves as the main building. The restaurant has a wonderful brewery inn atmosphere with several dining rooms. This allows you to experience the Hofbräukeller in both modern and traditional styles. The service is quick and friendly. The food is also very delicious. These days, you can easily spend a lot of money eating out, so we ourselves go to restaurants less often than we used to. But here, the value for money and the ambiance are just right for us. We were very satisfied and thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the meal.

We were there on September 26, 2025, with a group of 10 people. Somewhat skeptical due to the reviews, we were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good, and the price/performance ratio was right. It came quickly and everything came together. Overall, the service was very good, fast, friendly, and attentive. Unfortunately, I don't remember the waiter's name, but he looked after us very well. All in all, a wonderful and successful evening. Thank you very much.

The food here was delicious, the portions were generous, and we received good service. Since the restaurant is quite large, it can get a bit noisy when it's busy, but it wasn't too disturbing. We would come here again.

The visit to the Würzburg Hofbräukeller was perfect! From the truly chic dining room, where utensils from the brewing history are still everywhere, to the service and the food. We had the Schäufelchen (small shoulder of pork) and the Zwiebelrostbraten (onion roast beef). Both highly recommended! The portions were very generous. It's nice that they recommend the right beer for each dish, or you can simply order the beer sampler directly. All in all, highly recommended!

We were there on Sunday, and for the morning pint, there was a really good live band playing classics. I especially liked that the band changed locations every now and then, so everyone could get closer and hear better. The beer selection was excellent, accompanied by fresh Federweißer. The food was good – not Michelin-starred, but absolutely fitting for a Hofbräukeller or beer garden. I found the prices fair and not excessive: you're paying for the ambiance, the atmosphere, the beers – and you get solid, good food. The service was great: fast, friendly, and helpful. No complaints. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it, especially for groups for a Sunday morning pint. A really nice, convivial start to the day! 🤗

Modern (aka recently renovated) take on a traditional brewery restaurant and beer garden — with friendly service, daily and seasonal specialties and a wide variety of locally brewed beers, bottled beer (also NA options), plus wine, cocktails and soft drinks.

We were there as a large group of over 10 people for a friend's birthday! Lütfi gave us excellent advice and service. We had a wonderful evening. The atmosphere was already good, but Lütfi's personality made it even more special!

We had made a reservation in advance, were there with a group of 30 people, and had a private room. The service was excellent; we were always able to order promptly. The food was also delicious and arrived very quickly, even for such a large group.

The service and food were very good. You can get your parking ticket validated. The only thing the kids found much too cold to drink was the Spezi with ice cubes. I'll go again.

Beautiful beer garden where everything fits

So... First of all... Not all waiters are like that. For example, there's a super-nice and attentive Turkish man... The chestnut trees offer plenty of space for birds, but by far the funniest bird is a two-legged male living on the ground. This particular specimen is forgetful, and therefore easily annoyed and unfriendly. Especially towards older people... A beer garden's flagship should look the other way around... Sorry, but an absolute no-go... I've deleted the original 5-star review... What a shame...

I went to this pub today. The ambiance is very nice inside, and the seating outside is very comfortable. The food is also very good and tasty. The service could be better; you have to wait for everything, but at least I got a shot while I waited.

I was a regular here long before the beer garden was renovated – with family, friends, colleagues, often several times a month. Just yesterday, I was here with friends and quite naturally tipped a friendly young waitress €2. But what I experienced today was simply disappointing and disrespectful. An extremely unfriendly waiter deliberately addressed me in English, even though I spoke clear German – apparently assuming I was a tourist and could be deceived. As soon as I ordered, I was told I had to add a €1 tip. I've never experienced anything like this in all my eight years in Germany. The two beers were placed on the table without a word, without asking who they were for – and the waiter just walked on. No greeting, no eye contact, no courtesy. I'm happy to tip if the service is good – but this behavior was a disgrace. This is not how you treat regulars. This is not how you treat guests at all. We consciously didn't seek conflict at that moment—our children were there, and both my husband and I place great importance on good manners. But inside, I was stunned. And what hurt me most: I felt like I was treated differently because of my appearance or my background—despite communicating clearly in German. A form of silent but tangible discrimination that should have no place in our society. I won't be coming back—and I won't recommend this place to anyone. I'm not a Chinese person, I'm not a Chinese person.

Went there for dinner yesterday, spontaneously, not the first time. Unfortunately, it seemed like an even worse day than usual. The food, from the soups to the main course, was lukewarm - cold! The dumplings were very watery on the outside and hard in the middle, as if they had been in water for too long, cooled down and then reheated - and we wondered why so many went back - we got the answer after we got ours. The sauce was cold, and there was very little and relatively tasteless. The festive soup tasted like ready-made products for €7.90 - not acceptable. Of course, I informed the extremely nice waiter about this - his reply: "I've heard several times today that the food is cold" - he passed it on to the kitchen.... There's nothing to complain about the ambience or the staff - but the food is just not good. If you prefer a quieter atmosphere, then this is not the place for you - it's very noisy inside.

Very tasty German food! Everything was deliciously prepared, and the Brathändle (a German sausage) in particular blew us away. The service could have been a bit faster, but the staff were pleasant and friendly. The interior is very inviting and appropriately decorated. All in all, a very nice Hofbräu with delicious food and a wide selection of good beers.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with our visit to this restaurant. The service was inattentive and disorganized – we had to wait a very long time to order our food. Since there were obviously enough waiters on site, we didn't understand why. The dishes themselves were rather mediocre in taste. The value for money was particularly disappointing – clearly too expensive for the quality. The interior is inviting. It's a shame; we expected more. We probably won't be back again.

Unfortunately, the waiter treated me very disrespectfully. I didn't feel welcome. The menu wasn't suitable for me - they could explore what works better with the individual components. (Perhaps a dish that combines a bratwurst or a steak with cheese spaetzle.) Perhaps add meat to the additional side dish section and make possible adjustments more transparent. The iced tea and the tarte flambée were great; it would also be cool to offer cocktails and create them myself. After this experience, I will unfortunately not be a guest in the future, but I wish you continued success and hope something like this doesn't happen again.

All in all: a nice place, fair prices, friendly service. We'd love to come back and try more of the truly extensive selection.

A beer garden as you'd imagine it, shaded by mature trees, spaciously laid out, and traditionally furnished. There's also a secure area where children can play safely. The service was good; you might have to expect a bit of a wait depending on the occupancy. The food was very wholesome and quite satisfying. It could have been a bit warmer for me—but that's a matter of taste, as we all know.

The first impression: wow! The location is a real highlight. The lovingly designed beer garden invites you to linger, the interior dining area is stylish, charming, and furnished with a great eye for detail. A real investment has been made here – at least in the visual aspect. All the more disappointing, then, is what ends up on the plates. The food is – with all due respect – a bitter disappointment. Carelessly prepared, the taste is bland to questionable, and the quality is at best cafeteria-level. I would have expected much more from a restaurant that presents itself in such an appealing ambiance. What remains is the feeling of a missed opportunity. So much could be done here – with a cuisine that even comes close to meeting the high standards of the surrounding area, this place could be a real insider tip. Instead, you leave with a disappointed palate and the impression that the potential has been left hanging at the kitchen door. Conclusion: If you're just stopping by for a drink in a pleasant atmosphere, you won't be disappointed. However, if you value good food, you should lower your expectations considerably – or better yet, eat somewhere else.

Nice beer garden, service is hit or miss. It always depends on the area of the beer garden and how motivated the waiters are.

Upon arrival, the staff ignores you unless you're following someone directly. Drinks listed on the menu aren't available (on a Friday night). At some point, you finally get the idea to go shopping... The food was served before the drinks even arrived. I ordered the wrong food, and they don't accommodate any food intolerances. And last but not least, I was overcharged. The food was okay for a beer garden, and the ambiance was nice. Parking is also good (parking tickets can be validated). All in all, we were very disappointed. What a shame.

I think the operators' expectations are significantly higher than reality. The price is simply too high for direct marketing of beer. The same applies to the food. But the service was absolutely abysmal. We probably just had bad luck with our waiter. 🤷 But if I have to wait 30 minutes for a beer, he can't even maintain eye contact with his customers, and I have to order from my colleagues only to get the wrong beer, then this is simply not worthy of a beer garden. I won't be coming back anytime soon. What a shame.

Once again, I was at the Hofbräu beer garden. The cheese spaetzle was an absolute disaster. The service could have been better. What I have to say is, why aren't the owners taking action? The ambiance is absolutely fantastic. Why doesn't the investor/manager see this? There's potential. One can only wish that things will get better.

Yesterday, June 20, 2025, at 4:50 p.m., we wanted to try the Hofbräukeller again, as the previous owner, Henke, only served lukewarm beer. Well, about seven employees, probably minimum wage earners, just stared at us disinterestedly; no one came to us. We left this impossible beer garden, thirsty, at 5:10 p.m., even though it wasn't very busy.

Eight of us went for dinner in the evening. First, a positive: The place is really nice, the drinks were delicious, from the homemade lemonade to the beer and the Sarti Spritz. Furthermore, the main server was always attentive and friendly. The food, however, was very disappointing. I should have read the reviews beforehand, because I can only agree with the criticisms. The chicken seems to be a frozen industrial product. In any case, the breading is high. It was evidently prepared well in advance and kept warm, as it was very dry on the outside. It also had that rancid taste that develops when you heat fat to a high temperature for frying and then leave it at low heat for a long time. Overall, most of the dishes were lukewarm. Unfortunately, the salad was very soggy. We sent back two dishes. Even though we only took a few bites, they told us that we shouldn't have eaten any of the food if it wasn't good. The complaint was therefore unacceptable. I understand the point, considering half of it was already gone. But in fact, there was still well over three-quarters of the portion left on the plate. Another argument was that the chicken and salad were often ordered and usually not complained about. In the end, we were given a drink—one drink in total for two meals. This meant that we had to order something else to eat later elsewhere. I would have much preferred the criticism to have been received more positively. I understand that you have to develop and test suitable concepts first. But I should always be open to honest criticism. A chicken like that and lukewarm, slightly rotten salad can be a health risk. That's a shame, because the location is so beautiful and offers so much potential. Conclusion: only great for a beer. The food, not so much. Unless the quality of the food isn't that important to you.

A very nice old beer garden under new management. Super friendly service and good food! Unfortunately, there's no real playground anymore, just a sandpit. There used to be a huge climbing frame.

I ate there for the third time yesterday, and unfortunately, I've noticed that the food gets worse each time. Yesterday I had the crispy Backhändl (baked pork belly), which was unfortunately very bad. The breading tasted reheated and sticky. I asked the waiter about it, but there was no response. It's a shame, I really liked it at first.

Five of us came here for dinner yesterday. The food was good to very good. Our marina was excellent, the best service ever. We'll be back 👍
