Franziskaner in Würzburg

Wir hatten Rinderrouladen und Schäufele. Wir kommen gerne wieder, endlich ein Restaurant ohne diesen ganzen Lärm und herumtobende Kinder. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

Wir waren mit unserer Adventskaffeerunde 2x in diesem Restaurant. Wir fühlten uns dort sehr wohl und haben uns mit Sabine (Inhaberin) auf Anhieb super verstanden. Besonders unser Willi. Das Essen sehr lecker und reichlich. Tolle Speisekarte. Gemütliches Lokal.Können wir nur weiterempfehlen.

Wir waren mal wieder in Würzburg zu Besuch und auf der Suche nach einer Gaststätte, in der es etwas geruhsamer als in den zentral gelegenen und immer überfüllten, fränkischen zugeht. Wir haben das Wirtshaus Franziskaner ausgesucht – und: Volltreffer. Etwas abseits des Touristenrummels findet man hier eine überschaubare Anzahl Tische und ein eher gemütliches Ambiente, auch scheint es hier viele Stammgäste zu geben. Wir hatten reserviert (empfehlenswert) und wurden von der Wirtin herzlich empfangen und gleich angenehm platziert. Die Speisekarte ist nicht überladen, es findet sich für jeden etwas. Meine Frau tendiert eher zum Vegetarischen und war vom Salat mit gebratenen Champignons und besonders der Vinaigrette ebenso wie von den Bandnudeln mit Saisongemüse mit Lachs einfach nur begeistert. Meiner Meinung nach sind die blauen Zipfel im Wurzelsud die besten in ganz Würzburg und auch der Sauerbraten war hervorragend. Uns wurde dazu ein Zwick’l Kellerbier im Steinkrug von der Chefin empfohlen, ein sehr guter Rat. Die Crème Brûlée zum Abschluss – das sprichwörtliche i-Tüpfelchen. Wir haben uns sehr gut betreut und rundum wohl gefühlt; wir können den Franziskaner, zudem noch im Wortsinn preiswert, nur empfehlen und kommen garantiert wieder.

Wir haben Spargeln gesucht und Spargeln gefunden. Tolles Gericht, hat wunderbar geschmeckt. Alles überstrahlt hat aber die Bedienung. Einfach nur TOP. Wer in Würzburg ist tut gut daran hier einzukehren. Fotos habe ich leider keine gemacht. Sorry.

Einer der besten Zweibelrostbtaten den ich je gegessen habe und service sehr aufmerksam...

Ein Glücksgriff! Wir wohnten nebenan im Hotel und fühlten uns im Restaurant sofort wie zu Hause. Küche sehr gut und bodenständig. Regionale Weine und über allem regiert die Chefin mit ruhiger aber bestimmter Hand. Gepflegte Gasthaustradition wie sie sein sollte.

Eins der besten Lokale in Würzburg, der Koch zaubert wunderbares Essen, seine Frau im Service verzaubert durch ihre Freundlichkeit.

Dort habe ich nein erstes Schäufele gegessen. Es war hervorragend, das Fleisch butterweich ging quasi von allein vom Knochen weg, die Kruste total knuspeig aber nicht fett. Total lecker. Und eine sehr freundliche Vedienung also es war perfekt.

Fantastische Lage in Würzburg! Nur wenige Schritte vom Stadtzentrum entfernt, aber der 5-minütige Spaziergang lohnt sich absolut! Super authentische fränkische Küche und wahrscheinlich die beste Schäufele, die ich je gegessen habe.

Wir waren an einem Samstag Abend als 5-köpfige Mädelsgruppe im Wirtshaus und wurden sofort sehr nett begrüßt. Das Wirtshaus wird von einem Ehepaar geführt, der Mann kocht & seine Frau kümmert sich ganz sorgsam um die Gäste. Wir hatten ein paar Fragen zum Essen, welche uns sofort sehr ausführlich beantwortet & wir zusätzlich beraten wurden. Wir haben uns dadurch sehr wohl gefühlt & wurden den ganzen Abend sehr gut bewirtet, wir haben dadurch gemerkt, dass hier Service groß geschrieben wird. Das Essen war überragend bei jedem einzelnen von uns! Nochmal ein ganz großes Lob an den Chefkoch! Das Fleisch war super zart & ist nahezu auf der Zunge zergangen & die Klöße haben wie aus Kindheitszeiten von meiner Oma geschmeckt, natürlich selbstgemacht! Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist wirklich TOP & wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Danke für den schönen Abend! 😇🙏🏼

Gestern hatten wir mal Glück gehabt und einen Tisch für vier Personen zur Mittagszeit reservieren können. Wir wurden wie immer freundlich begrüßt und man hat sich an uns von vorigen Besuchen erinnert. Das Schäuffele, der Sauerbraten, die Gänsebrust und meine Viertel-Ente waren ausgezeichnet! Dazu ein lockerer und humorvoller Service. Was will man mehr?

Wir hatten heute Roulade und eine 1/4 Ente. Wow - sehr sehr lecker. Auch der Silvaner war vorzüglich. Sabine war aufmerksam und freundlich - wie immer halt :) Wir kommen immer wieder gerne hierher!

Ein sehr schönes Ambiente und super nette Wirtsleute! Die Speisen sind lecker und reichlich! Die Auswahl der Gerichte ist für jeden etwas. Die Ansprache und die Umsicht der Wirtin ist fantastisch! Wir haben sehr lecker und in einer heimeligen Atmosphäre gespeist, wie unter guten Freunden. Immer wieder gerne!!!

Das war mal ein tolles deutsches Essen. Hier sieht und schmeckt alles traditionell wie es sein soll ohne Schnickschnack. Absolut lecker und absolut empfehlenswert. Dazu diese unglaublich freundliche Bedienung.

Wir waren am 1. Weihnachtsfeiertag im Restaurant zum Essen und waren zum wiederholten Male positiv überrascht. Obwohl es proppenvoll war, hat die Chefin trotzdem Zeit für ein kleines Pläuschen. Obwohl alleine, klappt der Service bemerkenswert gut. Das Essen war, wie immer, war vorzüglich. Warum manche beim Essen nur 3 Sterne vergeben (zudem ohne Begründung!) können wir nicht verstehen. Wir freuen uns auf das Nächstemal.

Such dedication and friendliness are rare these days. The food, as on our first visit, was an absolute delight. The gravy was incredibly delicious, and the potato dumplings were divine. My wife also had red cabbage, and I had wonderfully aromatic sauerkraut—both excellent and perfectly complemented. Everything here is truly perfect: quality, taste, and value for money. Our visit to the Christmas market culminated that evening at the Franziskaner restaurant, making it a truly perfect experience. Such warmth, hospitality, and passion for good food are sadly all too rare these days. We're certain of one thing: our trip from Fulda to Würzburg will definitely lead us to the Franziskaner more often now. We're already looking forward to our next visit! We reserved a table for two for dinner based on the many great reviews, and our already high expectations were exceeded. The service was incredibly friendly and positive, and the food was simply fantastic. Whether it was the side salad, the soup, the Sauerbraten, or the Schäufele (pork shoulder), everything was incredibly delicious without exception. The atmosphere was convivial and welcoming, and we will definitely (!!) be back.

We had dinner at the Franziskaner Restaurant and we really enjoyed it. The waitress was very attentive, even though it was very busy. We all had Franconian wedding fare for our main course – beef with noodles, cranberries, and horseradish sauce. We all enjoyed it very much. The portion of pasta could have been a bit larger, but the meat was tender as butter. The desserts and the side salad were also absolutely delicious.

We snagged a table at 8 p.m. on a Friday, and the wait was absolutely worth it! The best traditional Franconian food in Würzburg, with extremely friendly service. If you get the chance, you should definitely go here. It's cheaper and tastes better than the Backöfele! 😊

If you're looking for an incredibly tender and delicious Sauerbraten, this is the place for you! For me, it's only here at the Franziskaner (I've been disappointed too many times elsewhere 🙃). The service is attentive and super friendly. The price/performance ratio is excellent! But be sure to make a reservation – the fact that the restaurant is often fully booked speaks for itself. It's rather unassuming from the outside, but it's worth it. We'll be back again and again. Thanks, and see you soon.

We visited Würzburg a few months ago and ate at this restaurant. What can I say? I've never encountered such friendly service (the manager). I got the impression that she truly enjoyed her job. She kept asking questions, even though she was quite busy. The food was excellent; I had a beef roulade, which was tender as butter. The restaurant itself is cozy, and I liked the indirect lighting. The prices are perfectly reasonable. If we ever come back to Würzburg, we'll definitely eat there again...a definite recommendation!

We really enjoyed our visit here. The restaurant is run by a married couple – she serves, he cooks. Although it was busy, the landlady was very friendly, contributed to a good atmosphere, and was also very accommodating to our disabled friend, who was there with us. The food was also delicious.

We had a wonderful evening at the Franziskaner! The owner greeted us so warmly, and we knew it was going to be a great evening. The salmon salad was delicious, the homemade herb dressing was incredibly tasty, and the amazing apple strudel rounded it all off perfectly. A stable restaurant, a bit dated. The food is OK.

Four of us ate there yesterday. I can 100 percent recommend the restaurant. The manager runs the service alone. Nevertheless, she has everything under control. She was super friendly, and the drinks came quickly. She kept asking if everything was okay. That's how I imagine service and hospitality. Her husband was in the kitchen. Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet him. But the food was amazing. Everything was freshly prepared and reasonably priced. Since the restaurant isn't very big, please make a reservation in advance. It's definitely worth it.

Highly recommended! We had a reservation for 5 p.m. and were a group of 10 people. Unfortunately, our boat trip was delayed, so we couldn't arrive until 5:30 p.m. Luckily, the group after us canceled, so we were able to stay until the last round. The food is excellent! Authentic German home cooking, superb quality, very tasty, and the portions are filling! It was a very nice evening that we were able to spend there; the service was more than accommodating and super friendly! You just feel at home there. The shoulder of pork and the Schoppe were delicious! It's not the cheapest restaurant, but you can definitely find more expensive options. The food was definitely worth the price. The service was friendly. The portion was quite filling.

Worthy of note are the "still reasonable prices. The food was excellent and so was the service. There's nothing more to say.

We were there with six people. The table was reserved online. The staff/boss Sabine was an attentive, friendly and warm host. The food was incredibly tasty and, above all, fresh. Everyone was excited. The selection of drinks was also large and ensured that we stayed for over four hours. Price-performance was really very good. From now on my first choice when I come to Würzburg again. I strongly recommend making reservations in good time.

What a surprise this well-arranged restaurant is. A fantastic meal for six with motorcycle friends and the brilliantly fun evening is mainly thanks to the successful cuisine and the service by the boss herself. If we come back to Würzburg, we will reserve a table again.

Nice nice little place. The boss who is responsible for the service is just great and super friendly. The food is really delicious! Special requests are also catered for! To top it all off, there was a heavenly crème brûlee. There is a large and great wine selection. Overall, it was a successful evening for us as a family. Anyone visiting Würzburg city center should definitely stop by here (but it's best to reserve in advance!)

Dieses Restaurant hat uns mehrfach überrascht. Chefin ist auch einzige Servicekraft. Bewundernswert wie sie das Lokal managt. Super freundlich, sehr schnell und auch noch kompetent. Der Gatte hat die Küche in der Hand. Und was da heraus kommt ist auch erstaunlich. Hervorragendes Schäufele, prima Leberknödelsuppe und ein guter Apfelstrudel. Eine gute Weinauswahl rundet das ganze ab. Ohne Reservierung werden sie keinen Platz bekommen.
