Franziskaner in Würzburg

We had dinner at the Franziskaner Restaurant and we really enjoyed it. The waitress was very attentive, even though it was very busy. We all had Franconian wedding fare for our main course – beef with noodles, cranberries, and horseradish sauce. We all enjoyed it very much. The portion of pasta could have been a bit larger, but the meat was tender as butter. The desserts and the side salad were also absolutely delicious.

We snagged a table at 8 p.m. on a Friday, and the wait was absolutely worth it! The best traditional Franconian food in Würzburg, with extremely friendly service. If you get the chance, you should definitely go here. It's cheaper and tastes better than the Backöfele! 😊

If you're looking for an incredibly tender and delicious Sauerbraten, this is the place for you! For me, it's only here at the Franziskaner (I've been disappointed too many times elsewhere 🙃). The service is attentive and super friendly. The price/performance ratio is excellent! But be sure to make a reservation – the fact that the restaurant is often fully booked speaks for itself. It's rather unassuming from the outside, but it's worth it. We'll be back again and again. Thanks, and see you soon.

We visited Würzburg a few months ago and ate at this restaurant. What can I say? I've never encountered such friendly service (the manager). I got the impression that she truly enjoyed her job. She kept asking questions, even though she was quite busy. The food was excellent; I had a beef roulade, which was tender as butter. The restaurant itself is cozy, and I liked the indirect lighting. The prices are perfectly reasonable. If we ever come back to Würzburg, we'll definitely eat there again...a definite recommendation!

We really enjoyed our visit here. The restaurant is run by a married couple – she serves, he cooks. Although it was busy, the landlady was very friendly, contributed to a good atmosphere, and was also very accommodating to our disabled friend, who was there with us. The food was also delicious.

We had a wonderful evening at the Franziskaner! The owner greeted us so warmly, and we knew it was going to be a great evening. The salmon salad was delicious, the homemade herb dressing was incredibly tasty, and the amazing apple strudel rounded it all off perfectly. If we're ever in Würzburg again, we'll definitely be back!

Four of us ate there yesterday. I can 100 percent recommend the restaurant. The manager runs the service alone. Nevertheless, she has everything under control. She was super friendly, and the drinks came quickly. She kept asking if everything was okay. That's how I imagine service and hospitality. Her husband was in the kitchen. Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet him. But the food was amazing. Everything was freshly prepared and reasonably priced. Since the restaurant isn't very big, please make a reservation in advance. It's definitely worth it.

Highly recommended! We had a reservation for 5 p.m. and were a group of 10 people. Unfortunately, our boat trip was delayed, so we couldn't arrive until 5:30 p.m. Luckily, the group after us canceled, so we were able to stay until the last round. The food is excellent! Authentic German home cooking, superb quality, very tasty, and the portions are filling! It was a very nice evening that we were able to spend there; the service was more than accommodating and super friendly! You just feel at home there. To top it all off, we got our beer to go for a very good price—what more could you want? If we're ever in Würzburg again, we'll definitely be back! Best wishes from southern Lower Saxony :-)

We were there with six people. The table was reserved online. The staff/boss Sabine was an attentive, friendly and warm host. The food was incredibly tasty and, above all, fresh. Everyone was excited. The selection of drinks was also large and ensured that we stayed for over four hours. Price-performance was really very good. From now on my first choice when I come to Würzburg again. I strongly recommend making reservations in good time.

What a surprise this well-arranged restaurant is. A fantastic meal for six with motorcycle friends and the brilliantly fun evening is mainly thanks to the successful cuisine and the service by the boss herself. If we come back to Würzburg, we will reserve a table again.

Had been there twice. Had the wedding dinner, it tasted very good, the beef was nice and tender, the horseradish sauce was good, only the tagliatelle could have been a little more but otherwise I was very happy with the food. The service was also very friendly....everything was fine.

Nice nice little place. The boss who is responsible for the service is just great and super friendly. The food is really delicious! Special requests are also catered for! To top it all off, there was a heavenly crème brûlee. There is a large and great wine selection. Overall, it was a successful evening for us as a family. Anyone visiting Würzburg city center should definitely stop by here (but it's best to reserve in advance!)

Dieses Restaurant hat uns mehrfach überrascht. Chefin ist auch einzige Servicekraft. Bewundernswert wie sie das Lokal managt. Super freundlich, sehr schnell und auch noch kompetent. Der Gatte hat die Küche in der Hand. Und was da heraus kommt ist auch erstaunlich. Hervorragendes Schäufele, prima Leberknödelsuppe und ein guter Apfelstrudel. Eine gute Weinauswahl rundet das ganze ab. Ohne Reservierung werden sie keinen Platz bekommen.

Really nice and good here. A sauerbraten that you have to look for for a long time - you can find it here. And a Silvaner soup with a kick. Or the vegetarian orange and rice vegetables. There were four of us and everyone was more than satisfied. With the best cuisine, with great service and, last but not least, with the selected wines. Everything at absolutely fair and good prices. And we were lucky: the weather was nice and we sat outside in a wonderfully quiet area. When we are back in Würzburg, we will of course go back!

Wir hatten 2 x Krustenbraten mit Knödel und Kraut: Reichlich Fleisch und es gab nichts nichts zu bemängeln. Deshalb haben wir das Essen unserem Tischnachbarn empfohlen, der dann nur halb so viel Fleisch erhalten hat. Das Kellerbier war gut, das leichtere Zwickl war noch besser.

My partner and I went for dinner the other day, and our experience could not have been better. It is a small but cozy place, and the waiter was extremely nice and friendly. She was really caring about us (whether we were comfortable, understanding the German menu, and enjoying). Then, the food was also very good: big portions, and everything very tasty indeed. The best point was without doubt the waiter, but anyway it was such a good experience, that if I could, I would go back again!

As Würzburgers, we ate at Franziskaner for the first time today and we didn't regret it. The service was super friendly, attentive, totally relaxed and always with a smile on her face. There's only a small map, but I don't think it's bad. The starter, main course and dessert tasted impeccably. The drinks are very inexpensive for Würzburg standards. We will be back definitely. But you should make a reservation as there are not many seats.

The inn is rustically cozy. We were also very welcome with our dog. She was immediately given a bowl of water. The knuckle with sauerkraut and dumplings was incredibly tasty, as was the beef roulade.

Wir waren gestern Abend das erste Mal dort essen. Das Essen war sehr gut und das Personal sehr freundlich. Das Restaurant war klein und sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Wir kommen auf jedenfall wieder.

Ich habe hier vor einigen Jahren mal kurzfristig als Aushilfe gekellnert und hatte es schon damals als sehr professionelles und freundliches Restaurant kennen gelernt. Heute zu viert als zwei Pärchen zum Essen da gewesen. Was soll ich sagen? Perfekt. Sabine, die Chefin, macht alleine einen souveränen, überragenden Service. Und die Freundlichkeit kommt von Herzen, man merkt ihr die Freude und Leidenschaft förmlich an. Das Essen: Eine Wucht. Die 17,90 für eine zarte viertel Ente mit leckerer Soße, zwei Klösen und reichlich gut gewürztem Blaukraut sind gut angelegt. Also Leute, kommt hierher zum Essen und lasst es Euch schmecken und gut gehen. Meine Freunde und ich werden es auf jeden Fall! P.S.: Die "nur" vier Sterne fürs Ambiente sind wegen der "Red Light District Atmosphäre" über der Bar und and der Kaffeemaschine. Gelbton oberhalb der Restaurantbeleuchtung fände ich passender. Aber alles Geschmacksache. Egal. Essen, Service und Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis Top. Bis bald.

Sehr zu empfehlen! Sau leckeres Essen und die Bedienung ist eine Wucht. Die Pfälzer und die eine Thüringerin sagen DANKE, dass wir da sein durften.

Top! Leckeres Essen aus regionaler Küche mit toller Würzung und ein super netter aufmerksamer Service. Dazu günstige Preise und ein tolles Ambiente. Die Desserts sind klasse und die Weinkarte muss man mal durchprobieren (Tip: 0.1 l bestellen) - die „Alten Rezensionen“ sind übrigens gar nicht mehr passend zum aktuellen Konzept. Soviel sei noch gesagt: wenn die Würzburger „Einheimischen“ sich dort treffen und sehr wohlfühlen, dann läuft hier so einiges richtig.
