Excellent cuisine, home-brewed beer. Right on the water.

This is one of the best beer gardens I have ever been and is next to the famous Old Main Bridge.Delicious food .I have tried Fränkisches Holunderradler which is different type of Radler beer but very refreshing and in main course have had Ofenkartoffel~ mit Pilzragout (Vegan) and this was very delicious as you can see in pics and yes staff is very polite and they attend you nicely even they were fully busy with the crowd. Highly recommended

The home-brewed Helles beer tastes really good. Service was quick, and the seating is lovely, overlooking the Main River and the old town. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, no beer garden due to the prices. It's more of a restaurant. Especially the food. Even the kids' meals are very expensive.

Here, you can sit right by the Main River and the lock, but still be on dry land. It's a shame; I would have loved to have enjoyed the wonderful ambiance with a view of the old Main Bridge for longer, but the otherwise very friendly waiter unfortunately didn't keep his word. 'I'll have another half-liter as soon as I've finished my drink' - 'I've got it figured out'... and unfortunately, despite several glances at the table, which had since been cleared, nothing happened for over 20 minutes. When asked about the faux pas, there was a stunned admission, but the unspoken tip was still retained. The opportunity to offer a small compensation was also missed. It may be Ascension Day, but the crowds were manageable at that time. The house beer was delicious; my companion especially liked that they also offered a 0.3l wheat beer. The prices for drinks are very good; in my opinion, a Maß for €9 is very rare these days! Second chance, different service - this time everything was OK, but the overall impression is unfortunately not enough for 5 stars

Very nicely located and very busy. The waiter was still prompt. The food was also good. The kids were entertained on the trampoline. Since it's right next to the lock, there's always a different ship passing by, giving you something to watch.

The beer is good, the staff is attentive. There's a beautiful view of the Main River. You're welcome to visit.

Ordered a pretzel with butter and got Obazda with a pretzel. I'm not a fan of Obazda at all. And the roast pork was extremely dry.

Overall, a nice little beer garden on the Main River. Unfortunately, the lock is right next to it, so you occasionally have ships docked nearby, which is a bit noisy and spoils the atmosphere. The menu selection is good, the prices are a bit high, and the quality is mediocre, but for a beer garden, it's definitely good. Home-brewed beer from the brewery, but from a beer garden perspective, it's still one of the best spots in Würzburg.

Nice beer garden, nice and efficient service, food is delicious and there is also a play area with a sandpit and 2 trampolines (separated from the bike path). It was a perfect lunch for us. Thanks to the whole team and next time there will be Maibock, someone else will have to drive 😉

Very nice, well-arranged beer garden located directly on the Main (Main cycle path) under the old Main bridge. The home-brewed beer tastes excellent and the snacks (Gerupfter/Obatzder) can also be recommended. I can't say anything about the other dishes. The staff is friendly and on the ball. There are enough parking spaces for bicycles

There aren't many places in Wurzburg that sell haxen, but there is one here! First of all, the scenery is great, the staff is friendly, and the food is delicious... I recommend it!!!

The location right on the Main is really nice, which gives the beer garden a pleasant atmosphere. Otherwise it remains a rather average beer garden. For the children I ordered a children's portion of bratwurst with boiled potatoes, but we received bratwurst with potato salad. When I only wanted to eat a small portion myself, I was refused a children's portion. For dessert there was supposed to be apple strudel with vanilla sauce, but after about 20 minutes we were informed that there was no more vanilla sauce available. To cheer up the disappointed children, I asked for two lollipops, which was initially presented as not a problem. However, after another 10 minutes we were told that the lollipops were also out. Conclusion: Disappointed children and a rather disappointing visit overall. There are definitely beer gardens in the area with better service and fairer prices.

A visit to the Golden Goose beer garden in Würzburg directly at the barrage is always a highlight. The cozy ambience under the trees with the beautiful view of the Main Bridge and the city makes you forget everyday life. The attentive and friendly staff strives to make your stay comfortable. The food is excellent and plentiful. A beer garden that always deserves a visit. No parking problems as there is a parking garage in the immediate vicinity.

We were here in the beer garden for the first time this afternoon. The ambience right on the Main under old trees and the friendly service are positive. What was definitely negative was the far too long wait for the food and ultimately the price/performance ratio when it came to the food. This really small portion of sausage salad with 2 slices of bread (without butter) has nothing special in terms of taste and is far too expensive. In my opinion, the prices quoted for 1 pair of bratwursts are also far too expensive. But here you pay for the ambience. We won't be coming back again.

The selection is rather small and prices are steep for the portion size. €13.90 for the sausage salad in which you had to look for the cucumbers

The food is good in the Goldene Gans, the Frozen Aperol gives it a special shine. The friendly service with the quick bob simply does her job perfectly! She served the drinks quickly, fast as the wind, which is why we are now tipsy. We are happy to pay more for such nice service, so we would like to thank you very much!

The entire team is very accommodating and friendly. Very beautiful and very shady through the trees. I was there with 5 friends and I really enjoyed it. The bus stop is also next door. I will gladly come again.

After visiting Bamberg and Forchheim the helles was very disappointing.

Food not good. Any chef would be ashamed of the watery and tasteless sauce over sausages and knuckles. The food itself wasn't any better and most of it probably came from a bag or can. Prices for food are far too high and no longer appropriate for a beer garden. Service was friendly. I won't come back and I'm guessing there are numerous fake reviews here.

a great place to have great food for lunch and drink cold beer (very cold!), overlooking the river. We were served by a very friendly, smiling attendant who helped us in English! A very friendly person told us that she has already been to Brazil and the cities she visited! unfortunately we don't know her name, but congratulations for doing everything smiling! we highly recommend!

The food tasted very good, but it was also quite expensive. The service was friendly.

Unfortunately we weren't served for more than 20 minutes. After our orders (drinks and food) were taken, the waitress came back a short time later and said that the kitchen had just closed and that only cold dishes were available. In the meantime the drinks arrived, which left us with no choice to make a different decision if necessary. After we finally ordered cold food and there wasn't enough bread for five people and we asked for more bread, we were told that there was no more bread. Suddenly bread was found for us somewhere. The disappointing thing: No apology and no effort to make the situation better. A pity.

Good, traditional Biergarten. Beer is great, but it would be nice to have a couple more options (there’s always Helles, but Pils just every now and then). Also quality food, but a few more options would be nice. Specially I’d like to have the option of eating a Schnitzel or something like that.

Last week we had dinner here in the beer garden in the evening. It was a highlight from the start. The service staff attentive, friendly, competent. The food was absolutely great, the best knuckle I've eaten in recent years. The home-made beer is simply delicious. Thank you for the great stay.

We came for beer and food and stayed for the nice ambience and friendly service. The Golden Goose, right on the water, is undoubtedly worth a visit.

Monday was very busy and is suitable for children. Prices should be adjusted. ...Quality fits....

We visited this place with Rada in mid-May. After eating I wanted to pay the bill with a bank card. It turned out that wasn't possible. This was pointed out on a notice at the entrance, but I didn't notice it. OK, my fault. Good thing I had cash with me. However, ten cents were missing from the bill. Yes, just a few cents. And then the most beautiful thing began. When solving the problem, the manager arrogantly advised to go to the bank on Sunday, leave the ID card as a deposit, and also said that you cannot put gasoline in the tank for free. Rude, stupid, petty pub manager. Thank you to the visitors who borrowed cents to pay the bill in cash. They were also shocked by this attitude. We will never return to this place again.

Nice beer garden, near the old Main bridge, next to the lock. Usually relatively full, which means slightly longer waiting times and sometimes waiting for a seat. This is absolutely compensated for by the friendly service, the view of the Main and the surrounding area and the delicious food. Clear recommendation if the weather is right.

And you sit in a beautiful beer garden right in Würzburg. Definitely visit on your next bike tour. If you’re cycling around Würzburg, you should definitely stop by the Biergarten Goldene Gans on the banks of the Main River near the old Main Bridge. It’s along the beautiful Main cycle path and offers a wonderful view of the old Main Bridge. Very friendly service and super delicious food and drinks. Good selection and looks freshly made. But there wasn't much going on at midday during the week. What I found positive: it is called a regional slaughterhouse for the sausage. Service: friendly and fast. Ambiance: typical beer garden. Everything OK. No card payment possible. No notice seen either.
