Hotel Zur Stadt Mainz in Würzburg

The rooms are very nice and the hotel is centrally located. Breakfast is a disaster because of the coffee machine Cups too small, tea glasses not available at all or only available to a limited extent. The food is OK and sufficient, the rest is very amateurish

Check-in was carried out digitally smoothly, but we were generally disappointed with the hotel. On the one hand, the bathroom was very small and if I had been further along in my pregnancy, I would have had real problems moving around in it. The shower wasn't clean and the shower doors didn't close seamlessly, so the bathroom was flooded after showering. There were adhesive residues from previous installations on the bathroom walls. The sink drain smelled unpleasant, but flushing it with hot water is also difficult with a motion detector on the faucet. The hairdryer had a loose contact, so drying the hair became a farce. Likewise, the replacement hairdryer that I got from the cleaning room did not allow my hair to be blow-dryed continuously. The size of the bedroom was appropriate, the mattresses were very comfortable for us, although there were broken pieces under the bed. The window didn't close properly. You should definitely have Oropax with you, otherwise you will be kept awake by the conviviality in the pub opposite. We didn't use the coffee machine or the water provided in the room, so I can't comment on that. I liked the storage room at the end of the hallway, from which you could get fresh towels or an extra pillow/blanket if necessary. There was also a high chair for children. The breakfast buffet was very attractively presented, varied and the products were very tasty. There also seemed to be enough of everything available and being replenished. That enhanced the hotel experience somewhat. However, we find a price of 102€/night p.p. not appropriate for the performance.

Contactless pin hotel. Location is very central. The room was on the top floor and was therefore correspondingly warm. There was no air conditioning, just a fan. The bathroom was fully functional, and quite modern. Check in and check out via app. Recommended for a city trip.

Unfortunately, the faucet in the bathroom was not fully functional, the temperature could not be regulated and was getting warmer and warmer. I can't rate the service because it's a hotel without a reception and room service is only done every two days. If you stay two nights, an evaluation is therefore not possible.

Great hotel with contactless access via PIN. My single room was quite small, but definitely enough for one person to stay overnight. Air conditioning is already installed in some rooms. Unfortunately I only had one fan, but at least. Not even the rule in German hotels. My room and bathroom were very clean and I felt very comfortable here. There is a coffee machine with capsules in the room, so that the first start of the day is guaranteed. The breakfast, which can also be enjoyed spontaneously, is absolutely impressive and makes the short trip to Würzburg a successful experience. I would stay here again...maybe also a little because of the beautiful name "Zur Stadt Mainz"...my home and the most beautiful city for me 🤗🌸.

Absolutely dissatisfied! We had booked a larger room (with an additional charge), with the request that a quiet room on the higher floors be available to us. We were assigned the smallest room (despite the surcharge), on the first floor directly on the street. Loud music, car traffic and shouting constantly disturbed our sleep. Other negative aspects: the hotel has no reception, neither staff. Everything is done via email only. Extremely small bathroom. Faucet with sensor that hardly allows washing. No mini bar in the room. Not recommended!

We stayed at this hotel for one night. We were accommodated in the annex. The rooms are nice and very modern. Everything you need is there. The contactless access is very convenient. What is particularly positive is that dogs are allowed to stay here for free. The location is 1A. Everything is within walking distance and great for a city trip. We parked in the theater car park for around €16 per day.

When I recently stayed at the Hotel "Zur Stadt Mainz", I was pleasantly surprised by the modern facilities and high level of comfort that this contactless hotel offers. The downtown location is simply unbeatable, with a wealth of amenities right on your doorstep. The hotel itself is a prime example of contemporary design and functionality. My room was spacious, tastefully decorated and had all the amenities one would expect. From the comfortable bedding to the modern bathroom, I felt taken care of from the moment I arrived. Whether you need something for breakfast or want to pamper yourself in the evening after a long day exploring, the selection of options right on your doorstep is unbeatable. The service at the hotel was also outstanding. Although the hotel is run contactless, I felt well looked after at all times and was able to easily communicate with the staff if necessary. All in all, my stay at the Hotel “Zur Stadt Mainz” was absolutely fantastic. I can recommend it to anyone looking for a modern, comfortable and well-located hotel in Würzburg. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

I didn't like what was on offer in the new BBQ grill room at all. Prices are quoted like those in a trendy steakhouse in a cosmopolitan city, but you are in a Franconian inn in a small provincial town. These rooms belong to a Franconian inn and not a “grill room”, which offers mediocre food that is not even beautifully presented. Far too expensive and the taste is rather average. Half the beer €5 (yes five!). Short ribs cost almost €30, the starters were mini for the money, especially the croquettes. The beetroot salad was also grossly overpriced and very small. What were the owners thinking? Now you can pick up your burgers via Lieferando. God forbid!

Unfortunately I have to write a bad review here, which I actually do very reluctantly and rarely. I wanted to book rooms for 9 people. I had telephone contact with the hotel and was told that I should please send a quick email with all the information and then they could send me the confirmation directly. It was 8:30 a.m. then. When I didn't have any confirmation during the morning, I called again, yes, yes, it would be soon. When I still had no confirmation after a long time, I called again. Arrives in 1 hour. After that still nothing. Call again, coming in 10 minutes. After that still nothing. Then in the meantime I saw (around 1:30 p.m.) that the room in Booking was suddenly gone and called again. Conclusion: At some point an email came, but not a confirmation, but rather a we're sorry, unfortunately there's no room anymore. Sorry, I called four times and said I wanted all of these rooms. And the end of the song, I had nothing and had to look elsewhere. Well, I could have booked through Booking (I asked several times on the phone) whether they would then take down the advertisements and send me the confirmation promptly because I really want the rooms and I want to make sure that the booking goes through and is safe. Otherwise, I would prefer to book in Booking just to be on the safe side. I was assured of that. Haha! I would have preferred to book online, but I wanted to do something good for the hotel so that they could save the booking fees. Very unprofessional and apparently there is no need if you have to make 4 phone calls afterwards. That's really a pity!

Room 102 is extremely noisy. Right above the hotel restaurant. Many guests, many voices, music and especially the bass boom into the room. Unfortunately it was still in operation around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday night. Went downstairs and asked for the music to be turned off. Was implemented immediately. The clean-up operation was tolerable. Around 3 a.m. a few boys from the next room came home and had fun in the wing with loud laughter and noise. What I mean is: In my opinion, the hotel is more for young partygoers than for commuters or families. The service in the restaurant was friendly and good. That food tasted good. Therefore 3 out of 5 stars in the scales.

Booking 3 months ago. Hotel simply canceled the room three weeks later without giving any reason. I had asked for an answer and even now after a month I have not received an answer. To date, no reason, let alone an apology! I booked without the possibility of cancellation. Impudence! Overall 0 stars!!!!!

Hotel in the heart of the city. Modern and spacious room up to date. Service, welcome, pleasant and pleasant.

So I have to say that was the worst meal, especially I ordered it a day in advance and what I didn't want came. 2 hour wait for food. Never again

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in December 2023. The room was generously sized with a lovely view of one of the churches, and the bed was very comfortable. It is well located on a safe street very close to the centre of town (maybe 6 mins walk). The bathroom is very small with a motion-sensor tap that activates at the slightest movement! Hotel guests should be aware that the lift only goes up to the second floor, so contact the hotel if you have mobility issues that make stairs difficult for you.

Frühstücksbuffet wird im Internet angepriesen wie im Schlaraffenland ... vorgefunden haben wir einen fast leer gegessenen Tisch der auf Nachfrage nur widerwillig neu bestückt wurde, obwohl noch frühstückszeit war. Brötchen ausgenommen, die blieben leer. Stattdessen gab es pizzataschen oder was das auch sein sollte. Für Frühstück unpassend. Haben als externe reserviert, telefonisch wurde uns eine deutlich kürzere frühstückszeit angegeben als auf der HP vermerkt. Für die Auswahl und Menge des Frühstücks viel zu teuer; Service eher Mittelmäßig - erst als es an die Bezahlung ging wurde man freundlicher.

Ein Hotel und Restaurant mit tollem Ambiente. eine gute Mischung aus Tradition und Modernem. Die freundlichen Betreiber und das leckere kulinarische Angebot überzeugen auf ganzer Linie. Ich war dort zur Übernachtung mit Abendessen und Frühstück.

Super Essen und toller Service. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Wir haben nur das Restaurant besucht und können deshalb nichts zum Hotel sagen

Ich war zum Essen dort, die Zimmer kann ich nicht beurteilen. Das Restaurant wurde toll modernisiert und behält trotzdem den alten Charme. Der Service ist ausgezeichnet und zuvorkommend! Die Gastgeber sind einfach freundlich ohne aufdringlich zu sein! Jeder Wunsch wird direkt erfüllt! Die Speisen und die Weinauswahl sind ebenfalls ausgezeichnet! Sowohl geschmacklich als auch qualitativ! Ich komme definitiv zukünftig häufiger zur Stadt Mainz :)

Das Restaurant ist sehr gut! Die Speisen sind gut abgeschmeckt und lecker. Die fränkischen Weine überzeugen zu einem außerordentlich günstigen Preis. Der Service ist aufmerksam und freundlich. Wirklich eine Empfehlung!

Schönes Restaurant. Angenehme Atmosphäre zum Wohlfühlen. Aufmerksamer, sehr freundlicher Service. Hervorragende Küche! Speisekarte bietet "Fränkisches" bis Veganes. Das beste Bier aus München: Augustiner - herrlich gezapft. Ebenso sehr gute Weine aus der Region - zu vernünftigen / günstigen Preisen. Wir haben uns Sauvignon Blanc u. Müller Thurgau, Divino Nordheim, schmecken lassen. Insgesamt super! Wir geben gerne unsere Empfehlung und kommen wieder.

Wir haben sehr lecker gegessen und die Bedienung war sehr zuvorkommend. Zu den Zimmern können wir noch nichts sagen, aber wir werden wiederkommen und werden das Hotel buchen.

Wir hatten ein tolles verlängertes Wochenende in diesem Hotel. Das gesamte Personal war unglaublich freundlich und aufmerksam, ganz besonders die "neue" Mitarbeiterin. Die Location hat uns ebenfalls sehr gefallen - alles ist saniert und einladend, die Zimmer schön groß und modern, das Bett super bequem. Und wenn man bei der Tür rausgeht, landet man direkt im Terrassen-Biergarten :D Herrlich!

Nettes kleines hotel mit schönen Zimmern super zentral gelegen.und das beste mit einen typisch fränkischen Restaurant. Küche sehr gut erfüllt auch gerne extrawünsche. Habe heute krenfleisch mit Nudeln (Fränkisches hochzeitsessen) gehabt. Krensauce wurde extra scharf zubereitet. Habe einen Wein bestellt der leider ausgtrunken war. Es wurde mir nach kurzer Zeit eine adäquate Alternative offeriert. Super freundliches servicepersonal. Komme gerne wieder

Sehr leckere klassische Küche und nettes Personal. Das Restaurant ist modern und gleichzeitig gemütlich eingerichtet.

Haben zum Hochzeitstag hier übernachtet und zu Abend gegessen. Wir würden sehr gut umsorgt, der Service war sehr aufmerksam und super freundlich, das Essen war sehr lecker und schön angerichtet. Wir sind begeistert. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig, alles frisch. Nur bei der junge Dame an der Rezeption am Morgen ist noch sehr viel Luft nach oben. Da das Zimmer sehr sauber war und der Service am Abend so hervorragend gibt es keine Abzüge. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Danke für die schönen Erinnerungen. Kleiner Punktabzug da kaum Parkplätze vorhanden. Es gibt aber günstige Parkhäuser in der Nähe und es sind fast alle Sehenswürdigkeiten in laufnähe.

Ich war Restaurant Besucherin. Was soll ich sagen... Das nächste Mal probiere ich das Schäufele, sofern ich noch keine Vegetarierin bin. Mein Zwiebelfleisch hat auf jeden Fall nach "mehr" geschmeckt, obwohl der Teller reichlich gedeckt war. Der Service war freundlich profesionell, einfach immer wieder gerne 👍

Der Besuch des Restaurants war rundum gelungen: Reichhaltige Auswahl an Speisen und eine vielfältige Weinkarte. Besondere Erwähnung verdient der umsichtige und freundliche Service.
