A lovely, shady beer garden. Located directly on the Main River. Very close to the Main Bridge, but very quiet. The food is delicious, and the price is absolutely reasonable. We'll be back again and again.

Definitely a lovely spot, within sight of the old Main Bridge. It's a beer garden with a decent selection, and the quality of the food is just adequate for me. The beer is probably above average for the Lower Franconia region. It's more of a wine town.

Unfortunately, no. A very rude male waitress brought us two stale, spilt wheat beers. We were able to witness the whole thing. After we complained, he told us there were no more drinks for us.

Pathetic menu. Salad, bratwurst, Leberkäse (meatloaf), or a snack. Where are the classics? Schnitzel or nuggets with fries, Steak with fried potatoes, Pork knuckle with dumplings, Kässpatzn (cheese spaetzle), Pasta, pizza, etc. Such a beautiful, inviting beer garden, right next to the locks on the Main. How cool is that? And then you don't even get anything decent to eat. Sad, pathetic, not recommended.

The beer is great (and brewed in-house). The service is always very friendly, and the location is top-notch. The only downside—this didn't happen to me, though, but to a friend, and only once, but it really shouldn't have happened—was that we ordered dumplings, which, after two complaints and two re-servings, were completely raw in the middle each time. We then ordered spaetzle, which were very tasty, though. Still, 5 stars because I've never had anything to complain about before, and the staff handled the situation well (except for the chef in this case 😅).

I was with my wife and friends at the Golden Goose beer garden in Würzburg. As I left, I politely asked a waiter – I think his name was Dorian – "May I pay when you're finished?" He was busy, but replied extremely rudely, "No!" and simply walked away. When I followed him to politely ask if I'd heard him correctly, he confirmed it with "Yes" and then cynically said, "That's life, my friend." Only after I showed him our table did he realize he was our waiter after all. Later at the table, I confronted him about his rudeness, to which he replied, "Yes, maybe it's different in another country." When I asked him what he meant by that, he simply replied, "I have no idea, no matter where you're from." I am a German citizen with Arab roots and was honestly shocked by this disrespectful and obviously xenophobic remark. Such statements have no place in the restaurant industry—or anywhere. We left immediately and will definitely not be returning. It's not just about bad service, but about disrespectful and discriminatory behavior.

Great location. It's very easy to reach and beautifully decorated. The food is varied and offers something for everyone. The staff is very friendly, and you get your food pretty quickly.

The Golden Goose light beer is so unbelievably bad. I've honestly never tasted such a bad beer. After complaining, the shift manager was very rude and walked away during the conversation. No goodwill, no refund, never again.

Beautiful place in a quiet setting, and the servers were also very friendly. We got our food and drinks quickly. However, everyone in our group who had the schnitzel had a bathroom slump the next day. I'd happily come back for drinks, but no thanks for the food.

The food was mediocre at best and very expensive. They didn't even serve fries. We waited over an hour for the food, and over 30 minutes for a beer. The beer was extremely sloppy and disgusting. The location at the Mainschleuse lock was quite nice, and the service was also very friendly, but no reason to repeat.

Friendly, prompt service soon brought our food. We had baked potatoes with salmon and wild boar sausages. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere in the beer garden, right on the Main River, was also very pleasant. There's also a playground with a trampoline for the kids.

The food is okay, mass-produced, but the fact that they sell and serve a salad with unpeeled shrimp and then, upon request, tell you that no napkins are available takes some getting used to. Not all of the drinks on the menu are available, and cutlery was only provided upon request. The beer garden is well-served, with three stars.

Probably the most beautiful beer garden in Würzburg, right next to the lock and with the best view of Würzburg. Because of the wood-chip flooring under the trees, it's always nice to walk there barefoot👣 Even if you get the last table in the row, the evening won't be dry. When I'm in Würzburg, I like to come to the Golden Goose.

We had actually made a reservation elsewhere, but they were so unfriendly that we left. They recommended the Golden Goose, and we were very satisfied. The staff were friendly, courteous, and quick. The food was delicious, and the house beer was really tasty!

We stopped by the beer garden at the lock on the Main River twice. The home-brewed wheat beer is amazing. Super delicious. As a woman, I had the "Russ" beer. I liked it so much that I ordered it again on my second visit. We also enjoyed the bread and butter and the white sausages. And all at a fair price. I highly recommend this place to everyone. And while you're at it, you can watch the ships going through the locks.

The 'Golden Goose' truly lives up to its name! There aren't many beer gardens near the Old Main Bridge. This means that the beer garden not only offers a fantastic view of the Main riverbank, but also the hustle and bustle at the lock and on the Main. The garden is shaded by parasols throughout, making it possible to linger and recharge your batteries even when temperatures exceed 30 degrees Celsius. Instead of gravel, there's bark mulch on the ground. This is not only dust-free, but also much more pleasant when walking. Beer benches include backrests. For the little ones, there's a giant trampoline and a sandbox. The fact that guests are very important here is also evident when the staff welcomes you at the entrance. Friendly and courteous, they help you choose your seating. The traditional costume, designed in white and green, perfectly complements the garden in my opinion. On Sunday before leaving, we absolutely had to have Franconian bratwurst with potato salad. The sausages were perfectly cooked; the dark beer sauce could, in my opinion, replace ketchup with sausages anywhere in the world (and mustard), and the potato salad was perfect in every way! The home-made, naturally cloudy beer tasted simply wonderful! It's nice and drinkable, not overly bitter, and definitely goes well with any meal offered by this restaurant. It was a spontaneous visit before leaving home; it's a shame I didn't have more time. I'd happily go back! 🥳🥹🫡

To be honest, the bratwurst wasn't as good as expected. The portion could have been a bit larger. Otherwise, a nice restaurant.

I was here yesterday with my two children, ages 4 and 5. While my food arrived in 20 minutes, my children had to wait almost 60 minutes for theirs, despite the beer garden's moderate attendance. My daughter reminded the waiter shortly after my food arrived, but apparently he didn't mention it to the kitchen. At least I was allowed to pack the food myself, since we didn't have time to enjoy it. This made for a very stressful time, even though it could have been a very nice place.

This is one of the best beer gardens I have ever been and is next to the famous Old Main Bridge.Delicious food .I have tried Fränkisches Holunderradler which is different type of Radler beer but very refreshing and in main course have had Ofenkartoffel~ mit Pilzragout (Vegan) and this was very delicious as you can see in pics and yes staff is very polite and they attend you nicely even they were fully busy with the crowd. Highly recommended

Here, you can sit right by the Main River and the lock, but still be on dry land. It's a shame; I would have loved to have enjoyed the wonderful ambiance with a view of the old Main Bridge for longer, but the otherwise very friendly waiter unfortunately didn't keep his word. 'I'll have another half-liter as soon as I've finished my drink' - 'I've got it figured out'... and unfortunately, despite several glances at the table, which had since been cleared, nothing happened for over 20 minutes. When asked about the faux pas, there was a stunned admission, but the unspoken tip was still retained. The opportunity to offer a small compensation was also missed. It may be Ascension Day, but the crowds were manageable at that time. The house beer was delicious; my companion especially liked that they also offered a 0.3l wheat beer. The prices for drinks are very good; in my opinion, a Maß for €9 is very rare these days! Second chance, different service - this time everything was OK, but the overall impression is unfortunately not enough for 5 stars

Very nicely located and very busy. The waiter was still prompt. The food was also good. The kids were entertained on the trampoline. Since it's right next to the lock, there's always a different ship passing by, giving you something to watch.

Overall, a nice little beer garden on the Main River. Unfortunately, the lock is right next to it, so you occasionally have ships docked nearby, which is a bit noisy and spoils the atmosphere. The menu selection is good, the prices are a bit high, and the quality is mediocre, but for a beer garden, it's definitely good. Home-brewed beer from the brewery, but from a beer garden perspective, it's still one of the best spots in Würzburg.

Nice beer garden, nice and efficient service, food is delicious and there is also a play area with a sandpit and 2 trampolines (separated from the bike path). It was a perfect lunch for us. Thanks to the whole team and next time there will be Maibock, someone else will have to drive 😉

There aren't many places in Wurzburg that sell haxen, but there is one here! First of all, the scenery is great, the staff is friendly, and the food is delicious... I recommend it!!!
