Kullman’s Grill & Diner Würzburg in Würzburg

Last weekend we had another delicious burger. We treated ourselves to drinks, an appetizer, and dessert – and still didn't spend more than about €25 (including tip) per person. The friendly young server brought our drinks within minutes and our appetizers about 15 minutes later (and since we weren't in a hurry but wanted to enjoy a relaxed evening chatting with friends), it was perfectly fine. We'd gladly come again.

The food was really bad, we had the all-you-can-eat chicken wings. They tasted like they were frozen. The whole meal was awful.

Everything was very delicious and juicy; it was the best thing I've ever eaten.

Two people with a dog. We quickly found a table, and the lovely Christmas lights lured us into the burger joint. The staff came to our table somewhat reservedly, but friendly, and took our order. Mishap number one. The Hugo (a type of rum) was served all over my pants and sweater. The server apologized and was genuinely sorry. Unfortunately, there was no sign of compensation or goodwill gesture. At least we got a new Hugo. After that, we ordered burgers, including a vegetarian one. Unfortunately, the burger arrived with a meat patty. Sadly, there was no server around to complain. So we ate it, which was a shame. It tasted great, though. I'm not usually stingy, but I did want the burger without meat, as ordered. After an hour, my order still hadn't arrived, so we just paid. We also ordered a Radler (a shandy). Unfortunately, the mixing system seemed to be malfunctioning, and the Radler tasted just like beer. Despite our best efforts and multiple refills, we kept getting only beer, and unfortunately no shandy. Perhaps the staff should check what they're actually serving. In conclusion, the staff is friendly and tries hard, but unfortunately, they're completely overwhelmed and underqualified. At least we had a fun evening, but I can't recommend it.

We were two adults and three children that afternoon. The quality of the food was very good, kudos to the kitchen! The ambiance was as expected. However… The way the server treated us ruined our experience, and we left the restaurant fuming. She made three mistakes when taking our order. One side dish was completely forgotten. One drink had ice in it, even though we had explicitly asked for it to be removed. One double upgrade for a burger, which only arrived with one patty. Despite all this, we said we would take the burger anyway. Then she had the audacity to question whether we were sure there was only one patty on the burger. As if we couldn't count to two! After we complained, no one came to our table again, neither to clear the table nor to take the payment. I had to get up to pay the bill at the counter. Extremely disappointing!!!

A chic American diner style. The food is great, they even have beer brewed especially for Kullmans. It tastes pretty good. However, you hardly stand a chance of getting in without a reservation.

The food wasn't even good; we ordered ribeye steak, and it was inedible. The mac and cheese with pulled pork had way too much barbecue sauce, and the macaroni had no cheese at all. The sodas were good, but it took way too long to prepare the food. We were really disappointed.

Since our last visit a few months ago, the portion sizes have practically halved. A mini burger with some cold sweet potato fries cost over twenty euros, plus the exorbitant drink prices, very long wait times, and a meal (salad) only arrived much later after we asked for it. We probably won't be coming back.

We had the Monday special, all-you-can-eat ribs; there were three of us. It took a good 15 minutes for the server to come, and then we waited at least 20 minutes for the ribs to be refilled. When they did, a measly portion arrived, and after that long wait, we were full. Just as we said we wanted to pay, the server suddenly appeared with two plates full of ribs (after a total of one hour of waiting). Poor management, poor service even in the kitchen. The food was okay, but it's not worth it at all. A rip-off!

A very disappointing experience. We arrived at 6:30 pm on a Sunday evening. There was no greeting; we were listlessly shown to a table where we were told to sit. We waited 30 minutes for our drinks, which were placed in front of us without a word. The waiter completely forgot to bring us the menu, so we had to look it up online ourselves to order. Another 45-50 minutes passed before the food arrived (by then it was almost 8 pm and we were really hungry). Then came the shock: the fries were ice cold, the steak was also cold and dry, and the ribs were burnt. The pulled pork was tasty, and the coleslaw was also good. Nevertheless, for €70, the food and service were truly dismal. As a guest, you feel like a nuisance and not welcome.

I was very disappointed with my visit to Kuhlmanns Diner in Würzburg. I ordered a mixed platter which included spare ribs, a burger, pulled pork, pastrami fries, and corn on the cob. When the food finally arrived after a 50-minute wait, everything was completely cold. The spare ribs were half charred and therefore simply inedible. The service was also a major problem: unfriendly, barely responsive, and generally rather disinterested. For a diner that should be known for good quality, it was a very disappointing experience overall. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place.

I had ribs with fries and coleslaw. The ribs were bone dry and had hardly any flavor, as if they'd been sitting out for two days. No glaze either. Instead, there was a tiny portion of coleslaw (about three forkfuls). Drinks took up to 15 minutes to arrive. Let's hope the steaks and burgers are better. The ribs, at least, were a complete disaster.

Visually, Kullman's is a real eye-catcher, but the food was a real disappointment, especially since Kullman's prides itself on being "authentic." The price is also quite steep. I ordered mac 'n' cheese, and it felt like it was just pasta mixed with cheese and shoved in the oven. It wasn't creamy and gooey like I know real American mac 'n' cheese to be (and I lived in the US for a year, so I've actually eaten real American food and had certain expectations). I can't say exactly what kind of cheese it was, but it definitely wasn't cheddar, which I found incredibly disappointing. The pancakes we also ordered weren't fluffy and light either, but very dense and rather hard (the batter was probably overmixed, who knows), and they were already cold. There weren't any breakfast sausages left, which I would have liked to try, especially to see if they tasted like American sausages. My partner ordered a sandwich, and I find it incredibly misleading how the pictures of the sandwiches in the menu look. You think you're getting more than you actually receive. What disappointed me most, for a restaurant that claims to offer an authentic American experience, was the lack of complimentary water! I know that's not common practice here in Germany, but in America, you always get free water in restaurants. To be honest, I don't know if I want to go back and give the restaurant a second chance...

The sight of this baked potato is enough to put you off everything... probably lying under a sofa for the last 5 years, today was its big day... not... the lettuce on the half-cooked burger was at least as wilted as the autumn leaves on the floor, the buns stale and dried out... the curly fries looked like they'd had a previous owner... And you gladly pay almost 50 euros for this... who cares about quality and service anyway...? 🤮

There were four of us in the late afternoon, using the Schlemmerblock discount booklet. The service was very friendly; the first thing they did was ask our dog if he wanted water :-)), the food arrived quickly, and they also asked if we needed anything else. The chicken breast was incredibly tender and well-seasoned. I didn't like the side salad. One person was thrilled with the burger. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Simon was the waitress. A god with the plates, a legend at the till, a legend among the waiters. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, but the place was packed (because it was good). A bit more expensive than expected, but there's a terrible recession going on (nothing you can do about it). Highly recommended.

How can you tell if a restaurant is wheelchair accessible? Answer: When the staff moves tables and chairs without being asked, so that wheelchair users can maneuver easily. And if, last but not least, the food tastes perfect, then you're at Kullmam's Würzburg. Full marks! 🫠😀👈👆

We were in here 2 times, atmosphere is good, but food and services needs some attention

Our visit to Kullman’s American Diner in Würzburg was unfortunately a complete disaster. The experience started off disappointingly: the appetizer – nachos with pulled pork – arrived after a mere five minutes, before the drinks or even the cutlery had been served. To make matters worse, the pulled pork was cold. After asking several times, the drinks and cutlery finally arrived, but the main courses took a full 1.5 hours to arrive. The disappointment continued: the pastrami was completely dried out and barely edible, and the pulled pork tasted more like pureed cat food. Only the burger was palatable and the sole bright spot of the evening. The service was inattentive and overwhelmed, the wait times were completely unacceptable, and the quality of the food left much to be desired. In short: an absolutely disappointing experience – we will be avoiding this restaurant in the future.

Food was very good and served quickly, however the portions were a bit too small, hence the one-star deduction. The price-performance ratio is therefore OK, otherwise everything was great!

I really like the service and atmosphere, but the food is definitely not worth the money... Please take a look at the photo. It was a cheap frozen schnitzel (even a low-priced one) that was thrown in the deep fryer with a few mushrooms and not-quite-crispy bacon, served with cold curly fries. Culinary-wise, it's simply a complete flop and in no way worth €17. You really don't need to go to a restaurant for that kind of food. The whole pricing structure for burgers and other items is outrageous and doesn't justify the quality offered here. Nothing is homemade; it's just another mass-produced chain restaurant.

Sunday afternoon, moderately busy restaurant. The appetizer arrived relatively quickly, faster than our drinks. However, it was cold and without cutlery. After about 1.5 hours, we finally received our main courses, but only partially and after asking again. After pointing out that more main courses were missing, we received them after another 30 minutes. At this point, we also ordered two desserts and another drink. After we had finished the additional main course, one of the two desserts was served. At which point we asked for the bill. We are still waiting for the second dessert and the drink... that was our last visit to Kuölmans.

Very friendly service. Extremely delicious food. I haven't had such a good burger or such perfect spare ribs in ages.

We are deliberately submitting this review after 5 days. We ordered 4 dishes, 3 of which were the same. The 3 dishes were steaks with sides. Round 1: 2 steaks without sides, and the 3rd was very tough. By the time the sides arrived, everything was cold. Round 2: the same steaks from Round 1, reheated, inedible. Very tough. Round 3: although the meat was new, this time fried in rancid fat. The meat was as tough as shoe leather. After round 3, we were fed up and went home hungry. NEVER AGAIN. DISGUSTING

We went for lunch today during our lunch break. Communication and service were practically nonexistent. The kitchen and service staff were completely understaffed for the number of guests. Our burgers arrived after 1 hour and 45 minutes. The food quality was okay, but nothing special. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it.

Of four dishes, only one was okay. Three steaks were tough as leather. Of three identical steak orders, two came without any side dishes. After a complaint, we were sent back to the kitchen. The same pieces of meat came back to the table...unbelievable. The fries were cold by then. Another complaint. The last person got his new steak dish after two hours. And it was tough again. It wasn't our first time here...but it was our last. Absolutely not recommended!

Yes, it's Friday night... but the service is simply overwhelmed because they're not in the industry. Then it also happens that the food comes out of the kitchen lukewarm. Blaming the restaurant for being so busy is the wrong approach. I know other diners that are really busy and still do a great job. And if I'm going to wait an hour for my food because the kitchen supposedly can't keep up, then the service should at least bring it to the table hot. So what a shame about a visually beautiful diner. Whether it'll get a second chance is still up for grabs.

The topped onion burger was delicious and a good size; the side dish was best shared. Friendly service and a nice location. Good value for money with the gourmet block. I'd definitely go back! Parking is available in the adjacent parking deck/garage for a fee, or a few minutes' walk away on parallel streets.

The food was quite good, everything was fine until it came to paying. EC card payment, the machine showed around 27 euros, I entered the code, and the young lady quickly took the bill. Later, my wife received a message from her bank app, saying around 32 euros had been deducted. A 5 euro tip was secretly added without us asking, and that's completely unacceptable 👎 Get the bill, or only cash is real.

We were here on Wednesday for the all-you-can-eat wings. Friendly service, good wings, and a real diner atmosphere. Refills were always requested quickly. So, everything was top-notch!

Only with the parking spaces it is bad, you have the possibility to park for free from 4 pm on Monday to Friday in Beethovenstrasse, I think from 1 pm on Saturdays and always free on Sundays, otherwise you have to go to a paid parking garage

Great American-style restaurant. The ribs were delicious. Child-friendliness is a top priority. A free 0.2-liter drink for children under 6 is provided. A coloring book with markers and a special children's menu are also provided.

A very cool and beautifully decorated diner, it almost feels like you're in the USA. The food was also very tasty and the price was reasonable. I'd go back anytime.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. We had a lovely waitress, Johanna. She was so kind and attentive. We barely had to wait, and the food and drinks were great.

Nice service, some of the food was a bit expensive, but good. It's very loud and the tables are a bit crowded. The ambiance is classic American diner. There's a large selection of dishes, so it's hard to decide at first, and everyone will find something to eat and definitely be satisfied. Both visits there have been great, and I'd love to come back from time to time.

Unfortunately, I'm a bit disappointed. The fries arrived after the burgers had already been eaten. There were also some issues with the ordering process. As compensation, we didn't have to pay for the fries! Thanks for that... Another thing to say is that all the staff are very friendly. The atmosphere is cozy.

We were there for lunch. There are outdoor seating areas, unfortunately located on a very busy street. Traffic noise during the break wasn't an option for us. You're seated inside. Everything is empty, but you have to wait until a staff member "sacrifices" themselves to offer you a seat. So far, so good. There's no "hello"; you're shown to a table in silence, and as a guest, you feel rather intrusive and annoying. The music inside was, in my opinion, very loud. During the break, you want to chat or relax... pleasant music in the background, no problem... This was far from it. When the drinks arrived, there was no "please"; the drinks were put down without a word. We had plenty of time until the food arrived. The staff were listless, with annoyed looks; you really couldn't believe they enjoyed their work. We thought the food was good, except for the wilted salad. How can you put something on other people's plates that you definitely wouldn't eat yourself? An absolute no-go. As we left the restaurant, we managed to squeeze out a "goodbye," which we weren't expecting at all. Bottom line: I won't be going back.

We've eaten here twice in the last two weeks. The service was friendly each time, and the food was excellent.

The food is usually really good! Today (03.08.25) we were really surprised by how unfriendly the entire staff was. No "hello" when we walked in, everyone was in a really bad mood. My order was taken with a strange look, and when I handed over the money, the server just walked away without a word... Edith: Later, they were even nicer 😅

The food itself is very delicious, and the ambiance feels authentic. This review is based solely on my experience ordering and picking up food from the restaurant. There were repeated, and this is also the reason for this review: significant delays in preparing orders, meaning you might have to wait 30 minutes or more at the counter for your order. This is especially disappointing for those picking up food, as you could have just eaten on the spot after such a long wait, if circumstances allowed.

Not good food but great service

I think Kullmann's was a great choice. My mom and I visited the restaurant for my birthday. The food was amazing! We had the BBQ grill, which was generous and definitely filling, and the sirloin steak, which was cooked to perfection. The staff was very friendly and reliable. When I asked, they even gave me a free slice of cake of my choice (with a sparkler 😊) because it was my birthday. The prices were fair, and all in all, it was a great experience. I highly recommend it!

Kullman's recently came to our rescue: We were able to place a large takeaway order for a private party with about 40 people, relatively spontaneously and without any hassle. Our guests were thrilled with the delicious wraps and Chicken Feast platters! The wraps were not only delicious, but also beautifully packaged and perfect for pick-up and delivery. We've eaten at the diner itself several times before and were always extremely satisfied.

The food was well-seasoned and served very quickly. Unfortunately, something on the grill plate for one person wasn't good. I've been battling food poisoning for days now, with severe pain, nausea, and so on. So, unfortunately, I won't be coming back. What a shame.

We were there for dinner and were very pleased with the food, and especially Steffen's service was fantastic. Thank you for the friendly and excellent service. Our evening was truly a treat. We'd love to come back next time we're in Würzburg.

Room for improvement. Frozen fries aren't really necessary these days, especially not for the extra cost. The burger was relatively dry; it's rare for a pretzel-style bun to taste dry.

Reception and order-taking were very friendly and efficient. The food and drinks arrived quickly, two dishes. The classic burger was good, the fries were dry, BUT: Selling a salad that's already yellow, wilted, and partially spoiled is outrageous. For that price, I expect a fresh, crisp salad like the ones I have in my vegetable drawer at home, even after days. The bad salad I was given was supposed to be the SoHo Sunday Salad. I can't say "It tasted good," let alone "Goodbye."

We had reserved a table for Saturday. Because our schedule had changed a bit, we had to postpone the reservation for another hour, but that wasn't a problem either. The food and drinks were delicious, and everything arrived with minimal waiting time—just fantastic. The service was exceptionally good, and everyone was super friendly. Thank you so much!

Very delicious food! Especially with ribs, I value the taste, size, and how the meat falls off the bone. I would deduct half a star because it wasn't quite perfect. But the taste was more than convincing! The steak and pulled pork were also great. The coleslaw was delicious!

Took 1 hour to bring the burger. 3 Out of 5 were not we ordered. Ketchup was cheap, actually pasta sauce. Drinks were OK. Over all view burgers were bad. Staff is the only 5 star thing here.

We've been eating here for years, last time we were actually forgotten and we had to wait ~1 hour for our starter, and then another ~45 minutes for the main course. Meanwhile, a couple came to our neighboring table and they were through their starter, main course and dessert before we even got our starter. Of course, our appetite and mood completely disappeared. Nevertheless, we found a solution in a friendly manner, our bill was halved and we received a generous voucher for our next visit. It didn't really make things any better that day, but it shows that the store is trying to be there for the customers.
