4.60 euros – that's the motto here. Elderflower spritzer, cappuccino, or any other beverage – 4.60 euros! Since 2024, the beautiful Brunnsteinhütte has had a new tenant, and with it, new prices. Keeping hut hikes affordable for everyone is unfortunately no longer the motto here. When a simple drink like elderflower spritzer or ski water – that is, syrup and tap water – already costs 4.60, it's better to bring your own (of course, please don't drink it in the hut!). Thanks to the cable car and the nearby Mittenwald, delivery conditions aren't exactly difficult. Yes, maintaining a hut costs money, even after a year of higher inflation. But pricing should also be done with a sense of proportion, and that unfortunately didn't happen here. The snack board – at €18, not exactly a bargain for those on a tight budget – is just about acceptable if you share: 4 slices of bread + the toppings are enough for two slightly hungry hikers, but if breakfast was more than two hours ago, the cake (it was quite tasty for a hut) is a must – for €4.60, of course… Dear hut team, please reconsider your pricing, then everyone benefits! The huts are there for everyone – that's the DAV's concept, it's in every Panorama magazine! >> Addendum from October 12, 2024: Dear Brunnsteinhütte team, you commented on my post with "The prices are the same at all AV huts in the area" – that's clearly not the case. The AV hut closest to you is already significantly (!) cheaper. For example, Skiwasser: you're €4.60 – the neighboring hut is €3.50. Unfortunately, that won't pass the fact check...

Leckere Torte und sehr guter Cappuccino in freundlicher Atmosphäre. Wer Geschenke sucht, wird hier fündig: Tee, Kaffee, Gin, Heufiguren, Fell usw.

Very good, traditional Bavarian food in a modern atmosphere. Excellent service, personal requests were catered for. Even though it's not in the center, a visit to this restaurant is always worthwhile. We visited several times during our vacation in Mittenwald and were always very satisfied.

Zufällig haben wir die letzten Bewertungen gelesen. Nun haben wir befürchtet, dass es im Post Hotel bald kein Bio Essen mehr gibt. Bio was heißt, dass ? Wenn wir ein Schweineschnitzel bestellen, wird es auch wie ein Schweineschnitzel schmecken. Dabei können wir nicht unterscheiden, ob es ein Bio Schwein gewesen ist oder ein konventionell mit allen Schadstoffen gefüttertes Schwein. Für ein Bio Schnitzel muss ich auch einen höheren Preis bezahlen. Für 1 kg Bio Schnitzel zahlen wir mindestens 25.00 € pro kg. Also ist ein höherer Preis logisch. Leider ist uns kein Bio Fleischer/Metzger in Mittenwald und Umgebung bekannt. Den Ausdruck „Tütensoße“ empfinden wir als bewusste Verleumdung. Selbst eine Tütensoße kann so aufgehübscht werden, dass man die Tütensoße nicht herausschmeckt. Aber beurteilen, kann das nur jemand der Tütensoße isst. In Bayern sind Bio Produkte eben im Moment noch schwer zu vermarkten. Hier dauert es immer etwas länger. Zu unserer Bewertung: Die Schweineschnitzel waren schmackhaft, die Bratkartoffeln auch. Dazu gab es einen knackigen Beilagen Salat. Für die kleine Portion wurden 3,00 € abgezogen. Eine Umbestellung statt Preiselbeeren, Pilz Soße, wurde nicht zusätzlich berechnet. Der Service war sehr gut, mehr erwarten wir nicht. Für den Sommer holen wir „Verstärkung“ dann kommen wir wieder. Es war sehr gut.

It's an impertinence to admit the food from the kitchen.....we ordered an XXL citizen schnitzel and a cheeseburger 🤮 My wife's pattis were chewy like bubble gum My schnitzels were put through the deep fryer, tomatoes were inedible...... We told the waitress that the two foods were in the bottom drawer........the salad looked as if it had already been eaten......she said that too The cook (trainee) The schnitzel with cheese in the microwave was 👍 We are both chefs ourselves and I am ashamed.......that the chef or chefs give out such food........ Tolle Aussicht, gute Getränke, aber das Essen auf billigstem Niveau. Der Kartoffelsalat matschigs Fertigprodukt, keine frische Salatbeilage zum laschen Leberkäs. Trotz Nachfrage keine Info, ob es auch süssen Senf gibt. Belehrendes Auftreten der Kellnerin, statt freundlich und erklärend. Wir würden hier nicht nochmals einkehren . Die Korbianhütte weiter unten ist das positiv komplette Gegenteil.

Never eaten a worse knuckle. Rock-hard crust, meat without any significant taste, cabbage ok, dumplings below average in terms of taste and consistency. My wife's soup was decent. I expected more from a butcher's snack bar, but that was the worst meal of our week in Bavaria.
