Great restaurant, very nice service, great decor. I would be interested to know which carpenter made this.

We have been coming here again and again for 30 years and always enjoy the delicious food and the cozy atmosphere.

Food was okay for the price. Had 2 pizzas which were average. The service seemed listless and unfriendly. When we wanted to pay, we were first asked what we had (only had 2 pizzas and 2 drinks in total - so not a long order). We didn't get an invoice, everything was just scribbled together on a piece of paper. We only received the receipt when we asked. No recommendation!

Waiter Guiseppe knows his stuff, is very friendly and quick. Pizzas taste great. Pasta dishes are very small in portion size. But the taste is very good. Drinks are very well chilled. We'd love to come back. But then order pizza. Best regards.

There are a lot of good reviews here and indeed the restaurant was almost full. But unfortunately, I cannot share everyone’s enthusiasm. I would like to, but alas. The wait for the ordered dishes was too long (about 30 minutes), the portions were too small and did not correspond to the stated menu (instead of tagliatelli tartufo they brought spaghetti, without sauce, with tartufo scolded on top 😏). Portions are smaller than expected. Instead of apologizing for the half hour wait, the waiter said that we were not alone here. This is understandable, but it’s bad that with such a crowd you are alone here, that’s the problem. I think that next time we won’t come here again. In principle, any restaurant can be assessed according to three criteria: food, service, interior. So it turns out that according to the first two criteria, the restaurant receives two stars. Google didn’t ask about the interior, although it’s not bad at all.

Not sure where the negative reviews come from - maybe just a bad day for the restaurant or the diner. I went in around 6:00 pm place (inside and outside) was maybe 80% full. Ordered a pizza - as good as any I’ve had in Italy. Noted that the other diners were all speaking well of their good pizza or pasta. By the time I left the place (inside and out) was totally full and had people waiting.

We ate very tasty and well. We had pasta. Service was super nice and quick. Only the mixed salad for €8 was a bit small - but everything else was perfect.

Excellent pizza. Also gluten-free, which is prepared separately in aluminum bowls, so that allergy sufferers will also be happy here. Vegan/lactose-free cheese is not offered, but you can bring it with you. This also seems to be done carefully, and it worked well for us (with a milk/wheat allergy, no intolerance). Very nice location, very friendly service, excellent pizza, suitable for allergy sufferers. Everything is just excellent.

We actually prefer regional cuisine on vacation, but Viola is an exception. Have rarely eaten better Italian. The homemade pasta, the green pepper sauce, even the glazed carrot pieces were unique. The wild boar was also cooked excellently. Not exactly cheap, but still worth every cent.

The pizza here is really incredibly delicious! A thin, crispy base, very well and deliciously topped. Simply perfect and exactly how it should be. Everyone is very attentive and friendly. Simply perfect!

We made a reservation and then waited 40 minutes for our table. This is very annoying at the start. We sat on the terrace during that time, got a menu - but no one came to take an order. Then it started raining harder and the awning wasn't extended. That is also annoying. When I ordered the wine, a carafe came instead of a bottle (annoying, but the carafe was on the house - good!) and my starter (tomato cream soup) was completely forgotten. The margarita pizza was quite dry, not bad, but not really good either. The risotto was not a risotto. It must be mushy, but it was more like good sticky rice with a bit of moisture. Carbonara was solid. The restaurant is absolutely average. The white wine (Friulano) was nice for a warm summer evening, can be recommended. We were either very unlucky or due to the hype of the holiday, people often rate it better than they should. I wouldn't recommend it, the Alpenrose around the corner delivers much better quality. The restaurant's reaction to critical reviews is always the same: you're supposed to be relaxed on vacation and you'd be arrogant anyway. But that's how the store is. Very arrogant, because the place in Mittenwald is full anyway. We found other Italian restaurants in the place. They are less prominent, but there is warmth and quality.

The pizza and also the risotto were excellent. The staff was overworked, but always friendly and helpful. You are in good hands here. I can only recommend it.

Nice service, remember what you like to drink even though it's only the second time you've been there. The food is great!!!! If you are in Mittenwald, definitely go to La Viola. As a tip, reserve a table.

Pizza to pick up: I ordered pizza by phone. After the specified time of half an hour I wanted to pick it up and realized that he had forgotten what is human and waited another 20 minutes. I was looking forward to the pizza but pizza on the website and in reality looked completely different, very little on it, no mussels, wasn't baked properly. Simply bad for this price.

A real gourmet restaurant! The food was a poem... The service was very friendly, quick and attentive, the food was prepared quickly and lovingly. Conclusion: Gigantic and indescribably delicious!!! We will come back and highly recommend it!

We had to wait a long time before we even got the menu and then we could order. Then the wrong pizza was brought. That hasn't particularly bothered me. The pizza was average. I've eaten bruschetta much better. Not even the stalk was cut out of the tomatoes. It seemed a bit loveless. The risotto was salty and grainy. The cook insisted there was no salt on it. We then got a new one and extra spice. It was still grainy. At the neighboring table, the guests were full of praise for the food. So maybe we were just unlucky. However, I think the restaurant is rather average and wouldn't recommend it.

This was a nice Italian restaurant. We had the Margarita pizza and the lasagna. Both meals were good but not great. Both needed a bit more seasoning.

We ate something here shortly before our destination in Austria and it was really very good. The staff was very friendly and the food was great, I had a lasagne which at 12 euros wasn't too expensive, for me it could have been a little bigger 😉 (LG) Got a table at lunchtime without an appointment. If necessary, reserve in advance in the evening. Sanitary facilities were clean. 👍

We stopped in transit and were very impressed. The food was excellent (2 pasta dishes and 2 pizzas), was served promptly, the staff was friendly, the price-performance ratio was great and the pizzas were even gluten-free. There was a parking lot behind the house. Unfortunately we saw it too late, so we paid for a parking space in front of the restaurant.

After visiting the Geist Gorge, we were still walking around Mittenwald and felt hungry for pizza. We discovered the pizzeria “La Viola” by chance. The pizzeria offers, among other things, gluten-free pizzas, which is an absolute hit for people like me who have a slight restriction in this regard. The food was excellent. My companions' noodles tasted very good. The pizza I took was also very, very tasty. Can only recommend :)

We made a reservation for 4 people, were warmly welcomed and enjoyed the best service. The food was prepared fresh and quickly. For those with intolerances (celiac disease), pizza and pasta are offered gluten-free, which worked without any problems. The pizza was just as big and delicious. Thank you very much for the lovely evening.

We were guests at La Viola this evening (June 1st, 2024). We were welcomed with Italian hospitality and served in a friendly manner. To eat we had Pizza Margeritha, bruschetta, pasta (daily menu) and two desserts. All the food was very tasty and exuded a touch of northern Italy. Very authentic and consistent. We'll be happy to come back next time you visit :)

Nothing to complain about. The food was fantastic and finally an Italian who makes Spaghetti Frutti de Mare WITHOUT tomato sauce!! We will definitely come back

Spontaneously saw the restaurant during an evening walk and after a quick question about whether we could bring our four-legged friend, a table was reserved for us. The food was prepared quickly, extremely tasty and the service was extremely friendly. Toilets accessible via stairs in the basement, very well cleaned and smelling fresh/ In the future we will stop here on every trip to the south.

Kid friendly? Rather not! We had reserved in advance and came because of the good reviews. Unfortunately, neither the food nor the service impressed us. There was no children's menu, so we ordered two small portions of pasta. In fact, these were the same size as my normal one (three carbonaras), but only cost €2 less each. This wasn't mentioned when we ordered and when we asked (friendly!!!) whether the price was really right, the angry boss came straight out of the kitchen and complained that we should be glad that he didn't do the same for the small portions required, as for the "normal" ones. Combined with the fact that all the pasta dishes were very salty and seasoned with way too much pepper (everything was too spicy for the children), it was a rather disappointing evening for us. Especially with children, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

In a beautiful location in Mittenwald we found an Italian culinary gem. The main reason we arrived was the gluten free pizza and pasta but we were very happy to discover a fine restaurant in all aspects. The feeling, the service, the most perfect al-Dante pasta and above all the gluten free options which were delicious. Don’t miss it in your visit at the lovely town of Mittenwald.

After we were extremely disappointed in another restaurant (which was recommended to us) because, despite making a reservation, they still put us off 35 minutes after the agreed time and didn't want/couldn't offer us a table, we came here. We received a warm welcome, were given a table straight away and were informed what was currently no longer available on the menu. (It was already late in the evening but it still suited us) The food was very good and the service was friendly and attentive. There was a ☆ deduction for the ambience because it was a bit louder.

Whenever we are in the area we visit the restaurant. Important for celiacs, there are also gluten-free pizzas and they taste like a pizza should taste. About the restaurant: The staff is always friendly and the food (we've tried a lot) tastes excellent. Today it was pizza parma, tortellini and tomato cream soup. We ate there for the second time yesterday and we absolutely loved it. Not only did the waiters recognize us after several months, we were served just as friendly as before and the food was fantastic again. The quality is great, the prices are absolutely justified and for us it is one of the best Italian restaurants ever.

We were returning from Innsbruck on the way to Garmisch via train and stopped in Mittenwald for dinner. I just randomly found this place. The food was great. We started with the caprese salad. 3 huge pieces of buffalo mozzarella. I had the Ossobuco and my wife had the Quatro Formaggi for dinner. also for desert panna cotta and creme brulee which was also delicious. we had several drinks, everything came out to less than 80 euro. After we paid the waiter brought us some Amaretto as an aperitif. Highly recommend if in the area.
