Despite the size, very comfortable, great food, very nice staff.

Highly recommended. Food comes quickly. Sometimes you have to wait a bit without a reservation. But the food is absolutely GREAT. Keller very humorous and nice. Sat directly next to a mini stream that flows through the restaurant in the outdoor area.

Bad staff only delivers half the food. After asking, the other things will be delivered. Not recommended.

We got the card and then nothing left, the waitress served at the next table and cleared it away and didn't pay any attention to us.

Briefly summarized: - At first I was ignored for about 10 minutes (with moderate operation) - then the wrong drink was brought and the wine was poured more into the glass than into the glass - the food came after about 5 minutes (freshly prepared?) - the "tender deer schnitzel" was tough, the rest tasted okay, even if the spaetzle looked very unappetizing (gray?) - after that I was deliberately ignored (I would definitely have ordered more wine, a dessert, an espresso and a nightcap, but was happy that almost 10 minutes after my umpteenth attempt to draw attention to me, someone actually gave me the bill came) Sorry, but that doesn't work at all! There were 3 “regular” service staff and 3 “runners” who had to serve a total of around 20 tables with perhaps 50 people. That's 6.6 tables per professional... that's ridiculously low! Instead of rushing around hectically, I recommend some structure and customer focus. But I don't care, I won't come again...

Kurz zusammengefasst: - zunächst wurde ich ca. 10 Minuten ignoriert (bei mäßigem Betrieb) - dann wurden ein falsches Getränk gebracht und der Wein mehr neben als ins Glas gegossen - das Essen kam nach ca. 5 Minuten (von wegen frisch zubereitet?) - das "zarte Hirschschnitzel" war zäh, der Rest geschmacklich okay, auch wenn die Spätzle arg unappetitlich aussahen (grau?) - danach wurde ich geflissentlich ignoriert (ich hätte durchaus noch mehr Wein, ein Dessert, einen Espresso und einen Absacker bestellt, war dann aber froh, dass knapp 10 Minuten nach meinen x-ten Versuch auf mich aufmerksam zu machen, tatsächlich jemand mit der Rechnung kam) Sorry, aber das geht gar nicht! Es waren 3 "Stamm"-Servicekräfte da und 3 "Läufer", die insgesamt ca. 20 Tische mit vielleicht 50 Personen bedienen mussten. Das sind 6,6 Tische pro Profi... das ist lächerlich wenig! Statt hektisch umherzurennen empfehle ich etwas Struktur und Kundenorientierung. Aber mir ist es egal, ich komm nicht nochmal...

Very tasty, carefully prepared food, and we were very pleased with Daria's warm service. Particularly noteworthy is the extensive range of bottled wines at reasonable prices.

The critical reviews are probably satire. The food, we've been there twice these days, is first class. The service was very friendly, despite the restaurant being full. You can taste the selected ingredients, everything is actually right. It wasn't the last time we were here.

Whenever we are passing through southern Germany we always look forward to a typical meal of the region. We were not disappointed, my partner & I had a lovely meal & will certainly be back to this restaurant on our next trip.

I was looking for a restaurant as a transient. Most restaurants in Mittenwald were full (also because it was raining heavily). The post office (according to its own description an “organic inn”) was completely empty except for three tables. I ordered the ox cheeks, which were advertised as the daily special outside of the standard menu. The cheek itself was okay, but it was swimming in a lake of gravy and was accompanied by the standard convenience vegetable mix (Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, kohlrabi and carrots), which is also available in the very large bags. I hope that at least the bags were "organic" - you don't need a chef for something like that

Ich suchte als Durchreisender nach einem Restaurant. Die meisten Restaurants in Mittenwald waren voll (auch weil es stark regnete). Die Post (nach eigener Beschreibung ein "Bio Gasthof") war bis auf drei Tische völlig leer. Ich bestellte die Ochsenbäckchen die außerhalb der Standardkarte als Tagesspezialität angekündigt waren. Das Bäckchen selbst war in Ordnung, schwamm aber in einem See aus Tütensauce und war begleitet von der Standard Convenience-Gemüsemischung (Rosenkohl, Blumenkohl, Kohlrabi und Möhren), die es ebenfalls in den ganz großen Tüten gibt. Ich hoffe, dass wenigstens die Tüten "Bio" waren - einen Koch braucht man für sowas nicht

We have been vacationing in Mittenwald and visiting the Gasthof *Post* for many years. The kitchen has maintained a consistently high quality over the years to offer. The staff are in a good mood and are always up for a joke, so we always enjoy being there in Mittenwald.

Wonderful onion roast with fried potatoes and fresh vegetables and cheese spatula with salad. Fast Bavarian service rounds off the very good impression 👍🏻

Got a nice table despite the Easter holiday. You feel completely at home in the dining room with its thick walls and vaulted ceilings. The service is consistently very, very cheerful and friendly. The food was very tasty and plentiful, not to say almost too much. Price/performance absolutely fair. Be sure to stop by. It is worth it!

We ate here during our Mittenwald vacation, the food was good, the waiters were very concerned about the guests' well-being.

It was very delicious. The game was very tender and good. We all enjoyed it. From chickpea curry to cheese spaetzle. For larger eaters, one more dumpling wouldn't go amiss. The waiters were all very attentive and friendly.

Good food with great service. The restaurant looks better from the outside than from the inside, but it is still nice.

We were there with 4 eaters and everyone enjoyed it very much. The good eaters would have wanted a little more side dishes, but for the others it was enough. The fried potatoes and potato wedges could have been a little crunchier. The market vegetables and Brussels sprouts were on point and the game hardly needed any teeth, it was so tender. The respective sauces were super tasty. There is Mittenwalder, but also good non-alcoholic beer. Also a good wine selection! It's a little (surprisingly not a lot) more expensive than elsewhere, but the quality of the food and everything organic, it's totally worth it! We'll definitely be back!

Very good service, nice and helpful. Some good deals for vegetarians. Unfortunately I got unripe tomatoes and dried arugula. A pity. But I understand that fresh salad and vegetables are not always super fresh in the dead of winter. Portion size is also a bit smaller than usual.

Were very disappointed on Christmas Day. We were looking forward to a nice meal at Christmas, but unfortunately nothing came of it. We had to wait over 1.5 hours for our food after ordering. The waitress already said it would take some time to get the food, but having to wait more than 1.5 hours for it is disastrous for a restaurant attached to a 4 star (!) hotel. Maybe we could have been reconciled with a drink on the house to tide us over, but there was simply nothing. Unfortunately no communication either. Either the kitchen was poorly organized or understaffed and the restaurant should not have accepted so many guests. If you want to spend a lot of money on a special meal, then the service has to be right. Several other guests waited as long as we did and were annoyed. We finally paid the bill for the drinks and left. By the way, the tables were very narrow and it was a bit uncomfortable to sit with four people. It's a shame, that's not how we imagined a lovely Christmas Eve would be!

Die Bewertung betrifft nur das Restaurant nicht das Hotel (hier haben wir einen uneingeschränkten, positiven Eindruck und würden das Hotel in jedem Falle weiterempfehlen). Im Rahmen der Hotelreservierung haben wir auch für den ersten Tag eine Reservierung (mind. nur 3 Monate im Voraus) im Restaurant aufgeben. Das Essen war gut, keine Beanstandung und die eigentliche Bedienung am Tisch (zwei Herren) ebenfalls. Die durchschnittliche Bewertung resultiert aufgrund des Erstkontaktes mit einer Kellnerin, die wir bez. unserer Reservierung zur vereinbarten Zeit angesprochen haben. Mit dem Hinweis, dass der eingeplante Tisch noch nicht frei wäre, wurden wir von ihr im Restaurant ohne weitere Hinweise an einen Ecktisch verwiesen. Unsere Nachfrage, wann wir dann an unseren vorgesehenen Tisch könnten, wurde mit dem Hinweis "Das ist ihr Tisch" beantwortet. Unsere Nachfrage, ob wir einen Außentisch bekommen könnten, würde verneint. Erst auf weiteres Nachfragen wurde und wenigstens ein Tisch am Fenster ermöglicht. (Ab dann übernahmen die beiden Kellner unsere weitere Bedienung, die dann absolut ok war) (Hinweis: nur am Rande: Ein Ehepaar am Nachbartisch, das "sich sehr energisch aufgetreten ist", erhielt sehr wohl einen Außentisch. Fazit: Der eigentlich gute Gesamteindruck wurde durch den unmotivierten Erstkontakt relativiert. Solche Erfahrungen blieben uns dann in den weiteren Restaurants in Mittenwald, in denen wir dann in den Folgetagen reserviert hatten, erspart.

Avoid Kasspressknödel. Small portions and not tasty at all. Nice waiters.

Ein schickes Bio Restaurant. Die Speisen hatten einen hohen Salat/Obst Anteil, waren aber dennoch lecker und für uns von der Portion her absolut ausreichend.

Bestes Restaurant, in dem ich je gegessen haben. Waren in unserem 1 wöchigem Urlaub 3 mal dort. Die Preise sind zwar etwas höher, aber komplett angemessen. Für so ein top Essen bezahlt man gerne mehr. Wir hatten Zwiebelrostbraten und Schnitze gegessen. Besser ging es nicht! Der Service war flott und sehr zuvorkommend. Am liebsten würde man 10 Sterne vergeben.

Habe mich gefragt,ob eine Umstellung auf Bio soviele Vorteile für ein Restaurant bietet. Ein Fisch aus dem benachbarten Gewässer Fleisch von einheimischen Bauern kann nicht so einfach angeboten werden. Deutlich höhere Preise für das kulinarische eher bescheidene Angebot, finde ich schon grenzwertig. Eine Kartoffel mit Kräuterquark und etwas Blattsalat für unseren 12 jährigen Neffen für stolze 17:90€ lässt sich für uns nicht nachzuvollziehen. Positiv war die freundliche und offene Art der männlichen Servicekraft. Das Restaurant war im Vergleich zu einem Nachbarlokal eher bescheiden besucht.

Wir kamen sehr hungrig in Mittenwald an und waren froh, hier einen Platz im Biergarten vor der Tür zu ergattern. Ein Blick in die Speisekarte ließ bei den Preisen Gutes erahnen ... na ja! Beim Schnitzel gab es noch nicht einmal einmal einen Beilagensalat dazu, der Wechsel von Kartoffelsalat zu Spätzle kostete nochmal 1 € extra, was das Essen dann merkwürdiger Weise teurer machte, als hätte man Schnitzel, Spätzle und Pilzsoße bestellt. Macht keinen Sinn! Mein Beilagensalat zu den Kösespätzle war welk und braun (Bio!?), die Spätzle trocken und geschmacklos. Viel Geld für wenig! Gut, dass es in Mittenwald andere gute Restaurants gibt mit angemessenen Preisen für gute Qualität!

Wir waren schon öfters dort. Am Dienstag war das Essen nicht so gut waren 6 Personen die Tomatensuppe wässrig und geschmacklos. Schade mein Besuch aus der Schweiz war enttäuscht.

Restaurant im bayerischen Stil. Im Sommer Außenterrasse an einem erfrischenden Stadtkanälchen. Breites Speisenangebot, besonders gefiel das Hirschgulasch mit Knödeln- eine große Portion, die dann auch lecker schmeckte. Angebot an offenen Weinen ganz ok, aber ausbaufähig. Service schnell und freundlich, aber nicht immer auf der Höhe: Weißwein zu warm, der angekündigte Kühler kam nicht.Gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis

Leider hatten wir sehr großen Hunger, für Bilder reichte es nicht mehr! Das Essen war wirklich sehr gut, der Service und das Personal sehr aufmerksam. Man kann sich nur wohlfühlen 😊, danke für alles!

Stel je er niet teveel van voor. Wij hebben bij de meeste eet gelegenheden gegeten in Mittenwald maar deze staat voor ons op een gedeelde laatste plaats. Schnitzel was droog en de cordon bleu slecht gevuld en een apparte smaak als of het niet vers was.

Wir waren in den vergangenen Jahren immer wieder da, auch weil wir bio und die Qualität der Zutaten in der Post sehr schätzen. Nun also der erste Besuch am Anreisetag. Netter Tisch (drinnen), Service wie immer super! Das Essen nun ja, meine Kässpätzle waren eine echte Enttäuschung. Eigentlich keine große Kochkunst, aber vielleicht gerade deshalb: Sie sind fast kalt auf den Tisch gekommen, die Spätzle waren pampig, der Käse geschmacklos, die Zwiebeln fettig. Einzig der Salat war gut. Das Schnitzel meines Mannes und der Kartoffelsalat waren o.k., aber nix besonderes. Und dafür zu teuer. Sehr schade.

Bei äußerst freundlichem Personal und leckerem Essen kann man nur 5 Sterne geben. Auch die Getränkeauswahl ließ nicht zu wünschen übrig. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ein hervorragend geführtes Restaurant in Bio Qualität, mit einem absolut perfekten Service, wohlschmeckenden Speisen und guter Atmosphäre. In unserer Urlaubszeit waren wir hier drei mal Essen. Auch das Preisniveau war völlig in Ordnung. Vielen Dank für die gute Bewirtung

Tolles Restaurant. Die Gerichte sind sehr lecker und auch mehr als ausreichend groß. Der Service nett, hilfsbereit, gut gelaunt, aber keinesfalls aufdringlich. Genau so, wie man sich ein gutes Restaurant vorstellt. Es gibt eine Mehrzahl an vegetarischen und veganen Gerichten zur Auswahl. Aber auch die fleischhaltigen Gerichte sind lokal und von bester Bio-Qualität. Hat meine volle Empfehlung!

Bestellt hatte Ich mir die Hirschrückenmedallions Preis war meiner Meinung nach überteuert. Ich kann das Restaurant trozdem weiterempfehlen, nur nicht das was ich bestellt habe.

Als Freund der guten Küche schaue ich mir gerne die angepriesenen Restaurants an um zu schauen was dahinter steckt! Im Hotel und Gathof Post in Mittenwald wurde ein Wildschwein Gulasch und Hirschmedaillons angeboten, so ging ich mit meiner Frau dort essen um zu schauen ob es gut schmeckt! Ohne zu übertreiben, so ein Mist das ich in der nähe von Bonn wohne, verdammt war das ein Gedicht, es war auf den Punkt gegart und zercremte im Mund mit der fantastischen Soße den Kartoffeln und dem herforagen angerichtetem Gemüse! Alleine deswegen wird Uns Mittenwald noch einmal sehen! Meine absolute Empfehlung! Für mich mindestens eine 5 Sterne Küche! Preis Leistung absolut in Ordnung!

We had a great experience at Bio Gasthof Post. There were plenty of people eating there during our first two nights, so we decided to give it a try on our last evening and it didn't disappoint. The food was very tasty (although it was a bit more expensive compared to the other places in Mittenwald) and the staff was very helpful. They had some English menus we could use and were very willing to help us order. During the evening we visited there was also some live traditional music by a small band of two people and the waiters were dressed in traditional costumes. Overall, it was a great end to our trip to the Bavarian Alps!

Wir waren zum Abendessen im Bio Gasthof Post und es war fantastisch. Die Kellner waren sehr, sehr freundlich, schnell und aufmerksam. Das Essen war unglaublich lecker. Wir haben Schweinefilet-Medaillons mit Champignonrahm und Kässpätzle sowie Hirschgulasch mit Blaukraut, Semmelknödel und Preiselbeerbirne gegessen und waren absolut begeistert. Das Hirschgulasch war butterweich und ist mit der Gabel zerfallen. Ein Traum! Allgemein ein sehr gemütliches Gasthaus mit super Essen. Würden sofort wieder hierherkommen.

Super nettes, unscheinbares Restaurant. Habe mir Käsespätzle bestellt, da diese Speise mein Liebling ist und ich sie sehr gerne selbst koche. Was mur hier gebracht wurde ist wirklich auf einem richtig richtig gutem Niveau, wenn nicht sogar perfekt. Guter Hüttenkäse, wenig Butter (wenn überhaupt?), gute Eier, gutes Mehl und selbstgemachte Röstzeiebeln. Besser gehts kaum!

Mein Mann und ich hatten im Urlaub hier unseren 40. Hochzeitstag und hatten für den Tag dort einen Tisch bestellt. Wir waren wirklich überrascht wie nett der Tisch für uns dekoriert wurde. Man hat uns nicht nur zu unserm Hochzeitstag gratuliert, sondern uns auch auf ein Glas Sekt eingeladen. Das war schon mal sehr nett. Dazu kam das schmackhafte Essen, das von der Vorspeise bis zum Dessert einfach köstlich war. Dazu viel Auswahl für Vegetarier. Es war einfach klasse. Und alles in Bio Qualität zu einem äußerst günstigen Preis. Besser geht's nicht. Nochmal lieben Dank an das Personal und die Küche für die tolle Bewirtung und das leckere Essen Das war sicher nicht unser letzter Besuch in dem tollen Bio Gasthaus....

Bio-Orientierte Gastronomie, leider geschmacklich enttäuschend. Ich bin gerne bereit für gute Qualität auch die doch deutlich höheren Preise zu bezahlen, aber gutes Essen wird nicht nur dadurch gut, dass man Ware aus Bio-ökologischem Anbau verwendet, auch wenn dies sicherlich eine gute Basis darstellt. Dass ist dann die hohe Kunst des Kochens. Hier verpasst der Gasthof Post leider eine Chance. Da ich auch ehrlich antworte, wenn man mich fragt, ob den alles recht war, wurde mir nur erwidert, dass Würze ja Geschmackssache sei und man hätte mir gerne Pfeffer und Salz gebracht. Dass, ist etwas einfach argumentiert.

Das Lokal ist sehr nett gestaltet. Das Personal war freundlich und immer höflich unterwegs. Im Hintergrund spielten zwei Männer mit einem Akkordeon und einer Gitarre Musik, was sehr angenehm war und sehr zu einer klassischen süddeutschen Stimmung beigetragen hat. Das Essen schmeckte lecker und war auch schön angerichtet. Alles in allem ist ein Besuch sehr zu empfehlen.

Ich war in meinem Urlaub 2-mal im Gasthof Post essen. Ich bin vor allem wegen der Bio-Zertifizierung und der – ortsuntypisch – sehr grossen Auswahl für Vegetarier und Veganer hingegangen. Das Essen war beide Male wirklich frisch und lecker und der Service war ebenfalls tadellos. Ich kann es also sehr empfehlen.

Endlich gibt es in Mittenwald ein Bio Restaurant, das auch hauptsächlich regionale Produkte verwendet. Der aufmerksame und freundliche Kellner hat dann auch unterhaltsam das Almleben der Rinder beschrieben, die seine Chefin wohl extra mal besucht hat. Da habe ich natürlich gleich das Rumpsteak bestellt. Es kam medium-rare, genau wie bestellt, war zart und geschmacklich ein Erlebnis. ich konnte problemlos Pfifferlinge dazu bestellen, lecker! Auch sein Rindergulasch meines Mannes war ausgewogen gewürzt und butterweich. Obwohl recht viel Betrieb war wurden wir oft von unserem Kellner besucht und gefragt ob alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit war, daher konnte er uns auch überzeugen noch ein grandioses Mousse au Chocolat zu teilen, dass ich auch in Frankreich noch nicht besser gegessen habe.

Schönes Gasthaus mit guter Küche und regionalen Produkten. Draußen sitzt man im Sommer sehr schön.

Leckeres Essen. Guter Wildteller. Leckere Bratkartoffeln. Sehr nette und aufmerksame Bedienung. Rustikales Ambiente.

Seit 47 Jahren kommen wir nach Mittenwald, jedes Jahr mehrere Wochen. Am Anfang hatten wir ein Zimmer mit Frühstück und so sind wir immer zum Essen gegangen. Das Hotel zur Post war für uns ein wichtiger „Ernährungspartner“, mit Wiener Schnitzel, Schwabenteller usw. dazu mindestens eine Maß „Löwen“. Nachdem wir viele Jahre dort waren, erlahmte das Interesse an den Speisen. Die Speisekarte hatten wir schon im Kopf und mittlerweile wohnten wir mit der Familie in einer Ferienwohnung. So wurden die Besuche immer seltener. Neue Gaststuben machten auf, man probierte auch andere Lokale. So hatten wir das Restaurant im Hotel zur Post, etwas aus den Augen verloren. Heute sehen wir rein zufällig den Hinweis auf der nicht mehr so üppigen Speisekarte, dass hier nur Bio Qualität angeboten wird. Gleich heute waren wir wieder einmal im Hotel zur Post. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und wir fanden noch einen Tisch. Das Essen war sehr gut und wir können die Geschäftsleitung nur zu dem neuen Schritt beglückwünschen. Das Essen war schmackhaft und entsprechend für Bio Qualität nicht überteuert. So werden wir häufiger hier zum Essen kommen. Mittenwald ist eine „Bio-Diaspora“. Zum Einkaufen müssen wir immer wieder nach Garmisch fahren und so können wir nur zu dem Mut gratulieren und einen erfolgreichen Weg wünschen.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Essen und der Service war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben direkt für morgen wieder reserviert, eine Reservierung ist zu empfehlen.

Mit 5 Männern zum Essen waren wir erst skeptisch, wurden aber positiv überrascht. Sehr leckere Rouladen mit Rotkohl und Bratkartoffeln für € 17,50 sind sehr zu empfehlen.

My parents honeymooned in the Post Hotel in March of 1969 and so, for their 50th wedding anniversary my wife and I arranged a return visit. On our first night we went to the hotel restaurant and were more than pleasantly surprised at the service, food and value. This is a restaurant which offers little by way of deviation from the regional specialities but does them very well indeed. I began with a really very good carrot soup, beautifully presented and seasoned. My father had the beef broth with meat dumplings which was also very nice. My mother had trout for her starter which she very much enjoyed. I plunged straight in to the local fayre and ordered the schweinshaxe with dumplings, beer sauce and a side of coleslaw - what an introduction to traditional German food - it was simply superb. Incredible crackling and melt in the mouth meat. My father, on the recommendation of the incredibly charming Hungarian waiter, had the goulash which was very generous and rich with the ladies having Wiener schnitzel which was light, crisp and delicious. Deserts were icecream, chocolate mousse and apfelstrudel and all well received. So good was the experience we ate in the hotel again during the stay.

We stayed here about 15 years ago and remembered the food here as one of the highlights of our trip. We were not disappointed. We ate in the Stube section on 5 of our 6 nights staying at the hotel. We tried different types of traditional Bavarian food and different specials with Steinpilze, wonderful seasonal mushrooms, which we remembered from our previous visit. And the Bauernrosti was great. Portions were enough to split between two people in some cases. We had beer from the local brewery. Service was excellent. And it was surprisingly cool in the Stube considering the August heat outside. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant highly.

My wife and I have come to Mittenwald multiple times for vacations, and my first visit was back in 1965. During these visits, we have become very fond of specific restaurants, bakeries, and other food-related establishments. Each visit we make it a goal to try a few new ones. During this visit we made it to two new places in Mittenwald, and one in nearby Krün. Post Hotel restaurant was one of our first-time visits. We wouldn’t have gone there except that there was a special being offered that included Steinpilze (aka porcini, champinion porcini). It is one of my favorite mushrooms. I looked through their online menu as well and found a number of dishes that I enjoy very much, but cook at home rather infrequently. We changed plans and opted to visit the Park Hotel Restaurant for lunch. The restaurant far exceeded any expectation one would have based on the rating in TripAdvisor, and I hope my review encourages you to give the restaurant a try. It was a lovely sunny day, and so we sat outside. The dining area is along the edges of one of the main squares, and allows for enjoyable people watching as you drink your beer and wait for your main course. I liked the beer options that were available, and so that immediately got things started on a positive note. The local Mittenwald brewery makes some excellent beers, and they were well represented on the beer list. Prices were a bit higher than at other eateries, but still a bargain compared to CA prices for craft beers. If you prefer wine, they have you covered. My wife had the Schweinshaxe, and that is always a tempting dish. I opted for one of the daily specials, which was Bauernrösti with Steinpilze (that had just come in that morning). The Schweinshaxe came with the ubiquitous but delicious cabbage salad. The pork shank had beautifully crisp skin, moist meat, was fully rendered of excess fat, and was a very generous portion (it almost always is). Two dumplings, one potato and one bread-based, rounded out the meal. I had a small taste of the pork shank, and it was quite delicious. The Bauernrösti dish is served in a cast iron pan, and you could think of it as a potato pancake on steroids. It has additions of bacon, green onion and cheese, and most likely egg in the potato batter. This was topped with a generous amount of Steinpilze that were wonderful, and more cheese. It was one of the pricier dishes on the lunch menu, but it was well worth it. The regular menu has a version of the dish made with chanterelle mushrooms. The serving was ample, and I was actually grateful that it was a wee bit lighter of a meal than many others I had consumed during this trip. Service was attentive, but unobtrusive, and payment by credit card was possible. When I look at the rating of this restaurant on TripAdvisor, I am rather puzzled. With the exception of Markt Restaurant, which is in a league of its own, this meal was on par with the best I have had in Mittenwald. The restaurant is criminally underrated. I can only guess that because the restaurant and hotel share a listing that the overall rating includes evaluations by people who did not like their hotel room. I am not staying there, so this is not an issue for me. I think the restaurant easily deserves to be in the top 10 and possibly even the top 5 in Mittenwald. I most certainly will be adding it to my preferred list. Each visit to Mittenwald reveals a hidden gem. On this stay, the Park Hotel Restaurant was one of them. If you are downtown and haven’t given this restaurant a try because of the low rating, consider the possibility that this is yet another victim of TripAdvisor’s flawed algorithm for determining overall rankings, and failing to separate restaurant and hotel evaluations.

I spent one night here with a walking tour group. I had a spacious double room although I was traveling as a single. My room had a good view, very comfortable bed, and a spacious modern bathroom. The decor throughout was traditional, with lots of wood. We had our opening dinner at the hotel's restaurant, and it was delicious, with many traditional Bavarian dishes. The buffet breakfast was fresh and plentiful

The building itself is beautiful inside and out. Good parking for our 7 bikes. Friendly welcoming staff. Rooms/bed comfortable. Indoor pool is big enough to stretch your arms and very warm, maybe a little too warm but nice. Great location to explore the little, traditional town centre. Would definately stay again. Breakfast is nice a simple with a good choice, dont go expecting a full English though if thats all you eat. Had 1 evening meal which was a Tomohawk Steak, turned out to be a bacon chop with a knob of garlic butter which was a little expensive at 24 Euros.

A busy place. Good service, a bit unpersonnal. Nice range of dishes and not all simple traditional ones. Much better than the regular tourist traps for backpackers.

Really nice hotel in the centre of town. Very friendly staff in both reception and restaurant. Nice pool but the sauna is literally for 2 and is infrared so not sure what happens if there is a busy time! Dinner and breakfast were excellent and good value. The room was not air conditioned but it was fine. The balcony was a welcome addition .

The food was good but a little slow getting there. Enjoyed visiting with Flo, who spoke excellent English and made good recommendations.

Lovely old world place with excellent food....one of the best Haxe meals I have ever had. Good service and a large selection of delicious entrees. Been there 3 times now in 2 years..will go again

Lively busy place, very traditional inside and out, on the main street. Good food and beer, good service. Quite noisy when we were there but it really was very busy!

Very good food at the Post Hotel! Very large dining room area and lounge area by the lobby. Breakfast was good and plentiful as well! Nice to sit and have a drink at night in the lobby area. Very comfortable seating out there by the fireplace!

Rooms rather classy - could need a pep-up. I realize I may have been put into the old part. Sitting area next to the lobby fully overfurnished - unpleasant. Gready internet policy!

Love this hotel! It's right in the center of Mittenwald - one of our favorite towns in Germany. The rooms are very nice and clean. Some offer great views of the mountains! They offer turndown service and place wonderful chocolates on your pillow each night. Breakfast is HUGE and included. The restaurant itself for dinner is top notch! The rooms are very quiet. Some of the showers don't have curtains or doors (this is very European) - if that's not your thing, request a room that includes this. They have both! I've spent a couple weeks here and I would recommend it to anyone!
