Grillstube in Mittenwald

Food took forever. Goulash supposedly homemade, I wouldn't recommend it and the Leberkäs was one of the worst I've ever eaten. I won't go there again.

We've been vacationing in Mittenwald for 7 years, the grillstube is our favorite restaurant.

Tested and found to be good. Based on the last very good reviews, we tested it and were thrilled. Great and very friendly owner, great roast pork and meatloaf at really moderate prices. We will be visiting there more often now.

Great food, I highly recommend it.

No star cuisine but down-to-earth Croatian cuisine which is unfortunately becoming increasingly rare. I like it!!!

Food out of the bag and pre-prepared. Haxe was out. Schnitzel was dry. Not necessarily good cuisine.

I ordered Pola Pola and a Hefeweizen. The beer came quite quickly, as did a salad consisting of white cabbage and red cabbage, carelessly in a bowl. The main course consisted of 6 cevapcici, which all looked the same, spongy chewing feeling, the frozen ones from the discount store tasted the same. The pork skewer was dry. The ridged fries were good. There was also a dollop of ajwar from the jar and a teaspoon of onions. Atmosphere. I sat right in front of the kitchen. Everything seemed cluttered and not really organized. The kitchen helper's baby was sleeping between two tables, obviously related. The young man touched everything with his fingers, chips, salt on top, corn, tomatoes, cucumber slices, parsley, gloves - none. The boss also garnished everything with parsley, without gloves. I can't understand the many good reviews. Unfortunately no repeat or recommendation.

Two days in Mittenwald and two dinners on the terrace in this friendly restaurant. The cuisine is quality, the portions are generous, the waiter is very friendly and the prices are reasonable compared to the rest of the street. First evening, I chose the Spatzle goulash and 2nd evening the grilled steak and fries. Dessert also delicious. I recommend

We had a salad with sheep's cheese and cheese spaetzle. The portions were quite large and the waiter was friendly and funny. The beers were cold and delicious, what more could you want :). Top value for money for a restaurant in a holiday region 👍

My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant twice on our trip to Mittenwald recently and absolutely loved the food. I had the spicy mince sausages and rice and my partner had the goulash.The apple strudel was the best we have ever had so if you do visit make sure you leave room for dessert! Friendly waiter and we had excellent service on both occasions.

Great restaurant, always fresh and homemade. The boss always has a joke up his sleeve. Animals are very welcome. Whether Yugoslavian dishes or Bavarian... Everything is great .. I can only recommend it. Keep it up...👍😃

The most disgusting food we ever had. I don’t understand how such places survive and make money. The cevapcici was cooked at least 2 days ago, the 3er Spieß was horrible, couldn’t swallow this bad quality meat. I hope we don’t get any food poisoning. NEVER AGAIN!

Delicious mix of German and Balkan cuisine. Great and very friendly service, great value for money. Unfortunately the toilets are one floor higher. Seating is available inside and outside.

We ate at this restaurant with 4 people. It appears to be a 2 person operation. The waiter always had a funny saying on his lips. Drinks came quickly, we had to wait a while for food. Since we had no time pressure, it didn't matter to us. The food was delivered to us (schnitzel with potato salad, 2x roast pork with potato dumplings, beef goulash with spaetzle). The schnitzel was very thin in terms of meat, hardly any taste, and the potato salad also had no taste. The roast pork was OK. With the goulash there was a flat plate with spaetzle and 5 large pieces of meat. Taste OK, nothing special. The dessert was a disappointment. We ordered 3x pancakes and 1x apple strudel. The pancake tasted like it had been bought; it came to the table cold. We hoped that it would be brought to the table fresh and warm. There was also whipped cream and ice cream. The cream had no taste, tasted like it came from a spray can. The ice cream was in the pancake. I can't imagine that the entire pancake would cool down completely within a short period of time. The apple strudel looked a lot like store-bought frozen food, but the taste was okay. My wife could see that a microwave was being used very often. At the end there was schnapps on the house. The next day my wife had massive intestinal problems. We can't say whether it's related to this restaurant, but she didn't have any problems on all the other days). Conclusion: No recommendation!

A super great restaurant! Sooo kid friendly. And fantastic food. We had beef goulash, pleskawitcha and onion roast, fries and dumplings for the children. Every single dish was delicious. Excellent cuisine!!! Luckily we received such an unfriendly welcome at the Alpenrose that we ended up in this insider tip. Thank you for the wonderful and relaxing meal!

Die Bratensoße vom Schweinebraten war viel zu dick . Salat zu den Käsespätzle war gut .Kleiner Biergarten vor dem Eingang.

Nach der Neueröffnung im Aril 2023 sind wir Sommer '23 sowie jetzt im Urlaub fast jeden Tag hier gewesen. Das hat seinen Grund - kommt vorbei und ich spare mir den Text... ...bringt Hunger mit und wählt zwischen Deutschen- und Balkan Gerichten, das hat Mittenwald so noch nicht erlebt, Freundlichkeit und Küche haben hier den Daumen mehrfach nach oben.... :-)

We had a bad experience at this restaurant. The service is good until we got the table. We wait about 5-10 minute after we said we are ready to order and what happen is very unacceptable. Waiter was going to receive an order the table behind us which is absolutely come after us. And 2nd unacceptable things was after waiter came to receive order at our table with a few confuse to our order because my wife want to order something that not a beaf. With no a little help to us the waiter took off to somewhere else in the middle of our order told us to wait and we wait there for fews minute and decide to leave the restaurant.

Nice and quiet place to sit in the pedestrian zone of Mittenwald. The economy is run by 2 people. One person does the cooking, the other serves and takes the order. You should therefore plan some time during your visit if there is something more going on. This was the case with us. We were greeted normally and were able to place our order fairly promptly. The drinks came quite quickly while the food took longer. Even though we understood that there were only two of them, the waiting time was borderline. The man also didn't explain to us that it would take a little longer. We both ordered goulash. According to the man, everything is made fresh. That could be true, but it wasn't our taste and we had a few doubts. The sauce was too thin for us and lacked oomph. We also found very fatty pieces of meat in the goulash, something I wouldn't want to offer a guest at home. In my opinion, the flat plates are also unsuitable for the goulash dish; here I would recommend deeper ones. It may be that we would have liked the other dishes more, but after the goulash was advertised on the blackboard outside, we decided to go for it. According to reviews, other guests were satisfied with the goulash. As we all know, tastes differ, but ours didn't.

We are locals and came here for the first time based on several recommendations. We were absolutely positively surprised. The landlord is very nice and funny, the food is freshly prepared and tastes delicious and the prices are absolutely fair! This restaurant is definitely on our favorites list and we are already looking forward to the next time 🥰

Were in Mittenwald for a few days in July '23. After our first visit to the Grillstub'n, it was clear to us that we would eat there every day. (That's how it was) The landlord and his kitchen fairy are great!!!! Five stars are simply deserved. It will definitely be our regular restaurant in the future. Greetings from Heilbronn 😉

Nichts Besonderes, aber auch nicht schlecht. Räuberspieß: Fleisch gut, Aivar OK Pommes i.O. aber wenig. ggf. komme ich wieder, aber nur, wenn ich nichts Besseres in Mittenwald finde...

Sehr leckeres Essen zu einem top Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis! Wir hatten einen Bayerischen Wurstsalat und ein Raznjici (weiß nicht, ob das richtig geschrieben ist) und waren wirklich begeistert! Hat sehr gut geschmeckt und die Portionen waren üppig. Der Wirt ist super freundlich und witzig, Hunde sind hier erlaubt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

20 Uhr und kein anderes Restaurant wollte uns bedienen. Durch den netten Zuruf des Gastwirtes, haben wir uns gerne überzeugen lassen, dort einzukehren. Das Essen (Zwiebelrostbraten und Schweinebraten) war sehr lecker und wir wurden sehr nett bedient. Wenn wir das nächste Mal in Mittenwald sind, kommen wir gerne wieder!

Eenvoudig restaurantje maar prima gegeten. Heerlijke biefstuk en stoofvlees… verse salade erbij. Vriendelijk en niet duur. Prima tentje!

Das Essen entsprach besserer Imbiss Qualität. Der Fisch war tiefgekühlt, Schnitzel machte nur durch Pommes satt. Der Kartoffelsalat gewiss auch nicht Hausgebacht, Soßen Fertigmischung. Stammkunden wird es eher weniger geben. Wiederholungsfsktor bei mir gleich null.

Ein Punkt, weil man 0 Punkte nicht vergeben kann. Wir sind leider recht unhöflich und kurz angebunden abgewiesen worden, obwohl Plätze im Außenbereich frei waren. Zum Essen kann ich nichts sagen, mangels Erfahrung. Manchem Gastronom geht's offensichtlich noch zu gut. Pech, dass das unser erster Urlaubstag war. Die sehen mich nur noch vorbei laufen. Es gibt halt keine zweite Chance für den ersten Eindruck

Essen war ok. Nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Mein Mann hat ein Wiener Schnitzel mit Pommes bestellt, das war reaktiv fettig, aber gleichzeitig ohne Ketchup o.ä auch recht trocken. Ich hatte eine Ofenkartoffel, die etwas zu durch war mit Salat, der leider alles etwas verwässert hat. Der Aperol Spritz war allerdings sehr lecker und dafür dass der Mitarbeiter/Inhaber (?) Alles allein gemacht hat, waren die Wartezeiten und das Essen moderat. Nochmal hingehen würde ich allerdings nicht.

I cibi sono molto buoni, così come i prezzi, forse imbattibili, il problema è stato quello di non aver potuto pagare con la carta e di non aver ricevuto lo scontrino fiscale. Sinceramente una cosa del genere non me la sarei assolutamente aspettata in Germania

Schöner Platz. Bedienung freundlich und nett. Einfach zum wohlfühlen. Grillteller mit 3 Sorten Fleisch bestellt. Nie wieder. Alle 3 Stücke waren super trocken und das nicht nur bei mir sondern auch bei meiner Frau welche das Gleiche bestellt hatte. Kellnerin hat den Koch informiert. Keine Reaktion. Wahrscheinlich ist ihm das egal. Weiter so, dann kommt keiner mehr. Wir gehen jedenfalls da nicht mehr essen. Übrigens das Salatblatt welches sich unter dem Fleisch versteckte war dafür schön weich um nicht zu sagen matschig.

Schöne location, vor allem zum draußen sitzen sehr schön. Bedienung war freundlich. Allerdings das Essen mittelmäßig, die Schnitzel hat wie Fertigprodukt geschmeckt und das Gemüseschnitzel auch nicht der Knaller. :/

Essen war ganz gut. Bedienung unfreundlich. Wir kamen relativ spät (21 Uhr). Haben unsere Getränke und unser Essen bekommen. Getränke falsch. Statt Bier Radler bekommen, darauf hingewiesen, keine Entschuldigung. Daraufhin hat die Bedienung bisschen komisch geschaut und mit sich selber geredet, nur gesagt „hm, ich hab aber Radler aufgeschrieben.“ Ohne einen Kommentar wurden uns dann die Gläser vom Tisch gerissen. Nach dem ersten Bier wollten wir ein zweites. Allerdings kam lange keine Bedienung mehr (saßen alle im Innenraum beim Essen). Daraufhin sind wir rein gegangen um zu fragen, ob wir noch ein Bier bekommen, die Antwort war einfach nur ein knappes, genervtes „Ne“.

Steak war zu fettig und tot gebraten. Schnitzel TK Ware. Portion sehr überschaubar. Preis-Leistung gleich Null.

Essen war mittelmässig. Leberkäse komplett fettig und dazu wurde Kartoffelsalat aus der Tüte serviert. Gleiches bei der Bratwurst, das Sauerkraut war definitiv aus der Dose und fade. Tisch war klebrig und wurde vorher nicht geputzt/desinfiziert. Preise waren in Ordnung. WC sauber.

kleines feines Lokal, sehr freundliche Bedienung, Essen sehr gut und nicht teuer, Steak mit Pfifferlinge für mich, Salat mit Putenstreifen für die Frau, beides sehr köstlich, wohl auch frisch zubereitet, nix aus der Dose, Getränke auch bestens, und nicht teuer....gerne wieder

Wir haben hier im Zentrum von Mittenwald günstig und lecker gegessen. Die Gerichte sind vielleicht nichts spektakuläres, aber bei einer Grillstube erwarte ich sowas auch nicht, schon gar nicht in der Preisklasse. Der Service war sehr nett.

Hyvä ruoka ja palvelu. Ihana pieni ravintola, jonne piipahdettiin matkallamme. Makkaraa, perunasosetta ja hapankaalia, todella hyvä ja sopiva annos.

Wir hatten hier einen Zwischenstopp auf dem Weg nach Hause eingelegt. Die Lage lädt zum Verweilen ein. Leider haben wir uns für die Grillstube entschieden. Das Lokal kann sich meines Erachtens nur halten, weil es genug Gäste gibt, die dieses Lokal aufgrund der Lage besuchen. Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass man wegen dem Essen nochmals dorthin geht. Die Qualität des Essens hat sich nach einigen Bewertungen zu urteilen nicht verbessert. Und das anscheinend nach vielen Jahren. Von Grillstube keine Rede. Vielmehr tatsächlich Gefriergut aus der Fritteuse und Kartoffelsalat aus dem Metro-Eimer. In einer so hoch frequentierten schönen Lage muss mehr drin sein als so ein Essen. Dann sollte man es lieber gleich bleiben lassen. Da helfen auch die günstigen Preise nicht‘s! Schade um‘s Geld!! Der Inhaber sollte sich hier unbedingt was einfallen lassen. Aber solange es genug Gäste gibt läuft es ja!!! Uns hat das Lokal jedenfalls nur einmal gesehen. Nicht zu empfehlen!! PS: Die Bedienung war freundlich.

Wer günstig etwas essen will ist hier gut aufgehoben. Nette Bedienung, preiswert, gut gelegen.Die meisten Essen unter 10 Euro. Einfach aber lecker.

Whenever we visit Mittenwald (to restock our supply of Mittenwalder beer), we stop at the Grillstube for more of their FANTASTIC gulaschsuppe! I compare every restaurant to theirs as far as gulaschsuppe goes, and I STILL haven't found one that I like as well! I will return for more! Great family-run tiny place on the main "walking street". Many people miss it in search for a good Bavarian restaurant. Try it--just once!

Wir waren zum Bozener Markt hier eingekehrt. Da ist es schwierig mal einen Platz zu finden um sich zu stärken. Die Einrichtung ist rustikal. Die Bedienung war freundlich. Wir haben Schnitzel bestellt. Hat geschmeckt. Preis Leistung fanden wir O.k. für die Gegend.

We return to visit the Grillstube mostly for lunch or an afternoon dessert. They smile, are friendly, make great food, and the outdoor seating is perfect in the pedestrian center.

Die Bedienung war überfordert. - Sie hat uns angepampt - Sie hat die Getränkebestellung falsch aufgenommen - Sie hat einigen von uns die Getränke übergekippt Für das Malheur mit den Getränken haben wir keine Entschädigung erhalten Das Essen war eine Katastrophe - Die Schnitzel Wiener Art waren Tiefkühlrohlinge minderer Qualität - Ebenso das Gemüseschnitzel - Der Kartoffelsalat hat noch nichts geschmeckt, das haben sämtlich Würzmöglichkeiten gefehlt - Die Mengen waren nicht ausreichend einen durchschnittlichen Esser satt zu bekommen - einzig der Beilagensalat war nicht mangelhaft und kommt mit ausreichend daher. Und die Getränkekarte bietet kein Getränk das günstiger ist als Bier, was viele nicht stören dürfte aber nicht konform ist mit dem Apfelsaftparagraphen. Meine Empfehlung: Geht iregendwo anders hin!

Very friendly staff we came to know during our visit. Wonderful views from outside. Little grill with good selections. One cold evening our server suggested 'yagertea' warmed you right up! Great suggestion!!

We came for an authentic german meal and what we got was £25 euro cooked from frozen oven meal. Worse than school dinners.

This is a very small restaurant. I was hungering for french fries, so I opted for the schnitzel and fries chalked on their blackboard. It was great -- hot too heavy and very tasty. The french fries were a bit salty though.

We went in here after a long day and had a really good meal, simple food cooked well! German food is all about getting the basics right and this place does it!

We stopped here for a light lunch (if there is such a thing in Germany!) and had excellent gulaschsuppe--one of the best bowls I've had in Bavaria! The service is friendly and cheerful--seems like a family operation--and your food is freshly made after you order. We'd been there before and liked it, and remembered as soon as we entered. I'll definitely go back for more gulaschsuppe! (and beer....)

The food is what you would expect from a "faster food" type place. Great for when shopping in town. Not for a nice sit down meal.
