Brauereigaststätte Postkeller in Mittenwald

Highly recommended, we moved in here with several people at short notice and had a very nice evening.

We were looking forward to a typical brewery and were surprised by live music. However, the live music was with violin and bass (not necessarily brewery style, but great musicians). Food was mediocre and disproportionate to the high prices. The sauce for the roast pork was bland and you could only order the sauce for the schnitzel for €1.50…. We had great service, but she was responsible for the entire restaurant (max. half full). We were looking forward to pork knuckle, but it had been there since 5 p.m.!!! no longer existed. All our meals are around €20, without salad (even the roast pork)

Great place to stop in and get a bite. I was solo so I sat at the bar but the bartender was very friendly and was kind enough to practice his English with a real live American. Would def visit again!

During our stay in Mittenwald, we visited this great restaurant several times, where we can drink beers from the local brewery behind the restaurant. Friendly, quick service, particularly good beers (Helles/Marzen/Dunkel), delicious food (Curry wurst, mixed sausage platter) characterize the place. When we left later in the morning after the opening at 10:30, we had a good start of the day with a pint of Helles and Marzen beer. The view from the terrace is beautiful, the interior is nicely furnished, and the visitor is welcomed by a clean washroom. In terms of prices, there is a fair, normal tariff. Tip.: During happy hour between 5-6 p.m., a liter of beer is 8 EUR... behind the restaurant, you can buy the brewery's beers for 1.10 EUR/bottle in the brewery's sample shop, as well as plenty of local schnapps... We recommend raspberry pálinka and measuring concentrates are measured at a very good price!

We love this place! Mittenwalder Helles and Märzen are on tap fresh from the factory (located in the same building), and the quality of the food and service is five stars! <3

Beautiful brewery, good beer, decent but not great food. When it was time to pay the waitress told me: "Only cash", absurd.

Had dinner here with a group today! I don't understand the criticism, the food was plentiful and very tasty, the service was extremely friendly and always checked on us, there was absolutely nothing to criticize! And the atmosphere is finally very inviting! We'll definitely be back! Thanks to the new tenant and waitress for an all-round enjoyable evening.

Beer is great. Location too. However, the food leaves a lot to be desired. Pepper steak was way too salty and had glutamate vibes for sauce. Another point of criticism: the pepper steak was much too thin, which meant medium rare was virtually impossible. And then a price of 30 euros (with a few fries on the side) is simply far too expensive! Unfortunately, service was no longer available after the main course. Empty glasses, empty plates and no one came for over 20 minutes.

The new tenant, who has been in charge since December, has made really small quantities of the good food. The cordon bleu was fresh from the freezer and served with exactly fifteen fries. We really enjoyed going to the Postkeller, but now I'll never come back. Assuming, of course, that the tenant stays.

Nice atmosphere, offered a table even without reservation, good variety on the menu, but small portions. Service very friendly but overwhelmed and relatively slow. Kitchen closes already at 20.00 CET! Reasonable prices.

Unfortunately the food wasn't really warm and the portion was very small. Unfortunately, the New Year's Eve menu was very expensive and the portions were very small. But the staff was very friendly and there was compensation at the house's expense.

New Year's Eve 2024, we were looking forward to a delicious dinner because we have been eating out here in Mittenwald for years on vacation. Unfortunately there was a separate New Year's Eve menu. Price and quality were disproportionate. We thought we had all ordered children's portions. The food was only lukewarm. A positive thing to mention was that, because of our appropriate criticism, we received a portion of Kaiserschmarn for our table on the house. The same situation happened at the large neighboring table with over 10 people. Hopefully the new tenants since the beginning of December 2024 will be able to get the organizational problems under control, especially in the kitchen. The staff was friendly and accommodating.

Forgot reservation. Food was great 2 months ago. Service was also good. Today, 12/30/24, the food was half the size. The baked salad, otherwise a highlight, was really half the size and tasteless. The waiter didn't even ask if I would like mayo or ketchup with my fries... No time. Mass processing. When asked about this after the meal, the waitress simply said: there was a lot to do. Even I don't pass it on or anything like that. So they don't have much to do for much longer...

Waren bei unseren zahlreichen Besuchen in Mittenwald schon häufig in der Brauereigaststätte. Immer wieder sehr gut. Das letzte Mal vor dem Wechsel des Besitzers im Oktober dort sehr gut gegessen. Heute am 30.12.24 ein erschreckend schwaches Essen. Der Backhendlsalat sonst ein echtes Highlight, halb so viel wie noch vor 8 Wochen. Nicht einmal ein Stück Weißbrot zum Salat. Außerdem geschmacklos. Das 2. Gericht war noch ok, aber man wurde nicht einmal gefragt ob man Majo oder Ketchup zu den Pommes möchte. Nach dem Essen darauf Angesprochen war die Begründung: Wir haben viel zu tun. Kein : ich gebe es weiter.. Wenn's so weiter geht nicht mehr lange.

Very nice staff. Unfortunately the food is not that good. Soup totally over seasoned. It only tasted like broth and salt. But it should actually be a cheese leek soup. and cordon bleu was served without beer sauce. Then we had to pay extra for ketchup. Without it it would have been super dry

Service sehr gut! Essen leider nur durchwachsen. Cordon Bleu war in Ordnung und für ein Brauhaus angemessen. Die Haxe war leider sehr „fest“, da bin ich von anderen Brauhäusern deutlich besseres gewohnt. Schade, hatte mich sehr darauf gefreut. Positiv ist allerdings, dass der Service sehr gut auf die Reklamation reagiert hat und es einen Schnaps und einen Espresso kostenlos gab.

Great sun terrace with a wonderful panorama. Delicious beer, we only had a little something to eat (fresh white sausages), but that was fantastic. From the tables next to us you could only hear good things about the main courses, unfortunately we didn't make it a second time. All in all, absolutely recommended

Classic brewery with a corresponding menu. Schnitzel was very good, the knuckle was okay. Danger; Closed from the beginning of November with a change of ownership in December.

Birreria spettacolare! Un paradiso per chi ama la buona birra e i sapori autentici: la scelta ideale per riempirsi di piatti sfiziosi e dell’incredibile Birra Mittenwald, che non solo non è a km zero, ma praticamente a centimetro zero, visto che la spillano dalla fabbrica alle tue spalle! Consiglio? Rifornitevi allo spaccio e tornate a casa con un carico di bionde da sballo. Il servizio è impeccabile: cortesi, rapidi, efficienti… ma c’è una nota che stona un po’: la prossima settimana cambiano gestione! Riusciranno i nuovi a mantenere l’incantesimo?

This is a good restaurant. We had an excellent meal here. And we were very well looked after. However, you should reserve a table in advance.

Mussten lange darauf warten bis mal einer der Bedienungen sich für uns Zeit genommen hat. Essen kann ich hier nur eines beurteilen, weil wir beide das Gleiche bestellt haben: Cordon Bleu mit Salat. Das Cordon Bleu war schön mit Käse gefüllt, aber ansonsten eher durchschnittlich. Der Salat war alles frisch, nur die Soße leider etwas wässrig. Meiner hatte dafür ein langes schwarzes Haar mit drin - bäh! Als Entschädigung haben wir unseren Espresso und Cappuccino gratis bekommen. Zum Glück! Sonst hätte ich mich noch geärgert, dass ich den dünnen Cappuccino bezahlen muss. Gegen Ende war offensichtlich nicht mehr so viel los und der Kellner etwas entspannter und freundlicher. Fazit: Service ok, Essen unterer Durchschnitt

Nice Bavarian food 😋 I ordered deer Gulasch with Spätzl (some traditional style of pasta) and warm red cabbage, which was very tasty! 🤤 And, I strongly suggest you to try rubarb white beer 🍺

Wir wurden zunächst von einer weiblichen Servicekraft freundlich empfangen und zu dem von uns reservierten Tisch gebracht. Getränke- und Essenbestellung hat bei dem dann zuständigen Kellner auch noch zeitnah funktioniert, Lieferung erfolgte zeitnah. Während drei der Essen als Durchschnittskost weitgehend akzeptabel waren, war ein Essen aufgrund hoher Fettschichten und -durchwachsungen weder genießbar noch sättigend. Darauf angesprochen, entgegnete der Kellner, dass es beim Fleisch eben Unterschiede gäbe. Nach dem daraufhin als Entschädigung servierten Obstler hätten wir anderen gerne noch etwas getrunken, erfahrungsgemäß auch mehr als ein Getränk. Aber wir wurden vom Kellner ignoriert und als das gesamte (!) Serviceteam eine ausgiebige Esspause einlegte, scheiterte sogar eine Bestellung an der Theke. Somit haben wir durstig und zum Teil noch hungrig die Lokalität nach langem Warten auf die Rechnung verlassen. Das vom Kellner vorausgesetzte Trinkgeld gab es nicht, allerdings musste er zur Herausgabe des Wechselgeldes aufgefordert werden. Kein Service = kein Trinkgeld!

I've never been treated so badly. So that the old lady knows who I am, a short description. After a 5 hour drive we wanted to have a quick dinner here. My wife and I went to the inn and were warmly welcomed. We asked for a table for two. There were only a handful of tables occupied, but we were told that everything was reserved and we could only sit at two tables of 6. I showed some of my displeasure. The old lady didn't like that and said either way or it doesn't work. My wife said that's fine and went to the table. I wanted to go to the toilet before ordering and went the other way. The old lady probably misunderstood that, I have to say that I walked very slowly because I am 100% severely disabled and have very bad walking skills. I was immediately asked to leave several times because I didn't fit in here. The old lady was right, we normally eat at a different level. We ate somewhere else where people were treated kindly. I can't say anything about the food, but if you look at the number of reviews I'm assuming it's mass-produced tourist food with average quality at best.

A very good restaurant with delicious food, good salads, beers, wines and spritzers. Very friendly and prompt staff. Very large restaurant with lots of seats, therefore only 4 stars for the ambience. But it's still nicely decorated!

After un long (cold) day, we going at 15h to eat. We take schintzel and curry wurst wit 2 delicious beer of their brewery. The dishes were big enough and really good. The wait was normal. When we pay the server ask only cash, it should be annouced please.

The food was good... But I can't shake the feeling that the portions are smaller in season...

The reception was borderline. The service was good. The drinks and food came quickly. Unfortunately, the food itself was only worth 2 stars. Not again.

Unfortunately, the food was more reminiscent of canteen food, not recommended... the meat seemed to be marinated in a ready-made marinade... unfortunately a disappointment for us. The service didn't seem particularly motivated either. It's a shame we were promised more 🥹

We went here for dinner as part of a birthday party. The table was beautifully set with folded cloth napkins. The service staff were all very nice, attentive and quick. The food was great! The only drawback is that when it's warm, the air in the rooms just stagnates and it was very hot and stuffy.

Unfortunately the food was sometimes cold, but the service was good as usual.

I don't know what else people are told, but I definitely can't confirm the reviews and the taste of the quality. I'm from Bavaria and know what a good roast pork and good dumplings taste like. We ordered roast pork that evening. Unfortunately, the sauce was made from ready-made powder, the dumplings made from ready-made mixture tasted like nothing and the meat didn't taste good either. I wouldn't recommend this place for roast pork!

The food was very tasty, as was the wheat. Unfortunately, the service was very chatty, so you had to wait longer for your order. Another waitress had to point out to him that guests were waiting for their food and an order. Otherwise the store is good.

We had dinner there with 5 people on Monday. Everything was really great. The service was very friendly and accommodating and the food was simply great. We had a plate of meat with potatoes, goulash with dumplings and a small salad (+extra) and neck steak with a fried egg and fries. Everything tasted great and nothing was left over! Worth an experience.

There were 8 of us there and we ate different things. Everything was extremely tasty, our highlights were the cordon bleu, the garlic-beer-chilli soup, and the braised ox! The service was very attentive, fun and friendly. We happened to be in the area, spontaneously and would go back at any time. Thank you for the nice welcome and the great food!

Two years ago we were much more impressed by the food, maybe it was just the choice of dishes. But after last night I'm deducting a star. The wood chipper steak was tasty but fried in a lot of oil. The side salad was relatively expensive (approx. €6.50) (1 slice of cucumber, 1 piece of tomato, etc.) and the dressing wasn't very balanced in terms of taste. The Postkeller Pfandl was also not convincing. But the quantities were plenty.
