We dined here on 9 November 2023. Sorry it's taken so long to write this review. I had made reservations on Open Table. We were staying very close by at the Crowne Plaza. We were the 1st to arrive on this evening. We were welcomed with an Amuse Bouche. Even though the receipt says Hefeweizen (Wheat Beer), I received Dunkel as requested; it was the same price. I had 2 very good ones. Other half had Korsischer Rose (wine). He started with Kuerbiscreme soup (Pumpkin Cream soup). I had a salad. For his main, he had the duck leg w/ cabbage & more. I had the Scholle Finkenwerder (a local fish) with a side of potatoes. The fish was tasty but had too many bones for my liking so I really couldn't enjoy it while I tried not to miss a bone! I would order schnitzel next time. We both passed on dessert since we were full. All in all, it was a very good meal. We thought about returning on our last (4th) night in Hamburg but decided to just get sandwiches and eat in our room and relax. The restaurant was operated by husband and wife, I think. She waited on tables, and he prepared the menu and cooked. It is a great place, especially if you're staying at the Crowne Plaza!

One of the most beautiful restaurants we have ever visited! It is directly opposite the main train station. The food is absolutely great, the staff is very nice and accommodating. A reservation is mandatory here. The store is full every day for a reason. When we are back in Hamburg, we will definitely come back!

We ate probably the two best ducks in Hamburg last night. Both the classic side dishes and the two ducks were more than perfect. As always, the service was very friendly and accommodating. We would be happy to come back

Some time ago I wanted to have breakfast at Elvi with my husband, but unfortunately the shop was completely closed. Too bad.

Really great restaurant, very nice service, the food was very tasty, the prices are fair. We particularly recommend the sweet potato fries, extremely delicious!! It was our first time here but we will definitely come back, thank you for the great evening.

We spontaneously came here for dinner, but I can't rate the rooms or the associated Kastanie hotel. The restaurant has been known in Duvenstedt and far beyond Hamburg for decades. There has always been good quality and you could also hold business meetings here. Now all rooms have been extensively modernized, overall comfortable, high-quality furniture and therefore a nice ambience. In addition to the main room, there are also separate rooms for celebrations, and the rear area with a terrace also offers a great setting for events. The welcome was relaxed and warm, the service was of the old kind in a positive sense - friendly, a good eye for guests and just there when you need him. First of all, the bread was super delicious, the in-house water was great. Salad with lots of turkey, fresh with different types of lettuce, fruity and delicious dressing - price reasonable for the large portion. Otherwise rather higher price range, portions ok, quality great - certainly suitable for the region. There are a large number of parking spaces on site, possibly on side streets. Hotel operation with new and existing buildings. Location in the forest villages ideal for a break or to know that business partners are well looked after.

Well, classic tourist trap. Viennese schnitzel with fried potatoes 29.90. Probably not again...

We were looking for a restaurant that had both a classic authentic feel and with great authentic food. Researching online, we were recommended this location. It lived up to our expectations. We did sit in a corner “behind” the bar. For more atmosphere, I would have preferred to sit with the bar visible. Price was great too. It will take a long walk or trip with the S-bahn to get here from the center, but it’s worth it.

I ordered fries in the little bistro. They were underground. Very poor quality of the fries themselves, not thoroughly fried and only seasoned with salt (no paprika/curry seasoning). Mayonnaise was a waste of resources in packaged plastic/aluminum bags and it wasn't tasty and wasn't enough. Not recommended at all. Then €4.30 for that. Nope!
