Very nice people. The food came quickly and was very, very tasty. We'd love to come back.

A great little restaurant. We were greeted warmly despite the fact that we didn't have a reservation. We were kindly brought to the table. Our orders were taken quickly and brought to our table after a short time. Our food order was prepared very quickly and we were very pleased. The pancake with vanilla ice cream was like homemade. Perfect. I had the schnitzel with fried potatoes and cucumber salad. And I was also very excited. I also told the customer service about this when paying. We'd love to come back.

The only thing that disappointed me was the soup. She was quite small. But overall, I tried the legendary Labskaus and I'm satisfied Very nice service

Opitz restaurant, hamburgers and home-style cooking. I've been wanting to eat here for a while and it worked out today I got a seat even without a reservation. Luckily the menu is not overloaded, there are many delicious dishes here. I took kale with a smoked pork sausage and pork cheek from the special menu, but I left out the pork cheek. Plus fried potatoes and a little mustard. The fried potatoes were very tasty, and the kale plate was a poem, very tasty food like at mom's. I haven't had such delicious kale in many years. The restaurant is very rustically furnished and has a cozy atmosphere. There is also outdoor seating in summer. The service was very friendly and attentive, and there seemed to be a lot of regular customers who you already knew by name. But I recommend making a reservation in advance. A clear recommendation if you like home-style German cuisine, this is the right place for you!

I absolutely loved the Opitz restaurant in Hamburg Uhlenhorst! The kale with smoked pork dish was particularly a real treat. The kale was wonderfully aromatic, perfectly seasoned and had just the right consistency - not too soft, but wonderfully tender. The Kassler was excellent: juicy, tender and with an intense smoky aroma that harmonized perfectly with the spicy kale. The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant and the attentive, friendly service rounded off the visit. You can tell that the cooking here is done with attention to detail and that high-quality ingredients are the focus. A wonderful place to enjoy classic North German cuisine at the highest level. I'll definitely be back!

We visited the Opitz on a Saturday evening and had a really delicious, home-style and plentiful meal. Hearty home cooking at reasonable prices. Despite the abundance of the restaurant, the waiting time for the food was short, but unfortunately we were not asked about any further requests. We would have liked to enjoy more drinks, dessert or espresso but the service - although very, very nice and friendly - apparently didn't have time for it. Still a nice evening and recommended. We will come back again!

Very classic Hamburg cuisine: the labskaus and the Finkenwerder plaice probably taste just as excellent as the pan fish you tasted. The waitress is as authentic as the cozy interior. But even home cooking has its price these days - as does the paid parking lot opposite.

We were lucky to get a table around 8pm Friday evening. Great cozy atmosphere. Great menu and extremely courteous service. The food was fantastic!

I wouldn't order brawn from my own production again - fried potatoes are great - it's awesome when paying with a card, I've never experienced that before: the card reader has three switches - tip 10%, 15% and 20% - until you press one of these switches , your card will not be read! I found it quite bold and you're already thinking about whether you need to do something like that again

A real insider tip. The food was absolutely delicious. How they write themselves without any nonsense. The economy is totally quaint. Always better to pre-order. Our tip is the steak with fried potatoes and the Viennese schnitzel. Always happy.

One of the best addresses in Hamburg for classic German cuisine for years. Had the roulade last night - fantastic! Plus a great atmosphere and great service! It's difficult here if you're a vegetarian or vegan...

Decidimos probar este restaurante para la cena, pero no teníamos una reserva. Pudieron sentarnos de todos modos, pero recomendaría hacer una reserva para estar seguros. El lugar es pequeño y muy pintoresco con encanto del viejo mundo y un ambiente agradable y relajante. La comida era de las mejores que he encontrado en Hamburgo. Tuve que tener el rouladen de carne que resultó ser un enorme roulade de carne nadando en algunos de los más sabrosos salsa alemana que he probado. Fue acompañado de col roja que era igualmente delicioso. (Creo que también venía con patatas fritas, pero no las probé). Nos gustó tanto que está en nuestra lista de comedor permanente para la próxima vez que estemos en Hamburgo. Recomiendo encarecidamente probarlo si estás buscando deliciosa comida alemana.

We have been coming to Hamburg regularly for years and always visit the Opitz restaurant. The quality, the taste and the friendly service were so impressed on the first visit years ago that it became a must-visit. You should, no, you have to eat here. A little note for everyone: reserve a table! If you arrive here without a reservation, you may be unlucky because everything is occupied or reserved. We have now eaten fish, meat and poultry dishes here and EVERYTHING is recommended. The schnitzel, the pork medallions and the roulade are particularly recommended. The fried potatoes are a poem. The service is friendly and accommodating. For us, the restaurant is the best restaurant Hamburg has to offer.

Wir waren mit 6 Personen zu Gast im Opitz und waren alle sehr zufrieden. Wir wurden nett empfangen und hervorragend bedient. Es hat uns allen super geschmeckt. Ich persönlich hatte den Heringsteller und meine Frau den Pannfisch. Alles ausgezeichnet und vor allem die Bratkartoffeln ein Träumchen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

We were there on September 28, 24 at 6 p.m. with four people. We all enjoyed ourselves very much and had a lovely evening. Absolutely recommended restaurant. Particularly noteworthy, however, are the two women who not only take the orders, but also operate the entire store. Super nice, always a smile for all the guests. No matter how busy there is, when we were there all the tables were occupied. So maximum stress level! Our special thanks go to the two ladies. That was Champions League!!!! Wir waren mit Freunden für ein Wochenende in Hamburg und kamen, über eine Empfehlung, ins Opitz. Hier gibt es ganz leckeres Essen ohne Gedöns. Ich persönlich hatte das Kesselgulasch…ein Traum 😋

Eating with our friends at Opitz was a pleasure. The four of us had 4 different dishes. All were very tasty. I particularly enjoyed the sauce with the vegetables. Everything was deliciously seasoned - a culinary delight! A “Bravo” to the friendly cook!

餐厅女服务生为我们点菜，服务很好！但是之后变成岁数较大的男服务生，根本没服务…..还没吃完就要收餐！结账时强制要求10%小费，说这是德国规定….他应该被开除，如果是女服务生我们会给，但他也强要了小费，希望老板能看到！太差了！

The OPITZ restaurant has been on Mundsburger Damm for 30 years now, an authentic establishment with delicious German cuisine and Hamburg classics. Today we had the crab plate with fried eggs on brown bread and the herring plate with a Bismarck fillet, fried pickled herring, housewife-style matjes fillet, a portion of North Sea crabs and fried potatoes. An extremely friendly and attentive service team. Highly recommended, reservations advised.

You might think the prices are a little more expensive than elsewhere, but the quality and more importantly the quantity you get is really great and the taste is an absolute pleasure. We had dinner at Opitz's this evening (8/26/24) around 7:30 p.m. The food tasted great, we had a beef roulade and herring fillet. For our taste it was a little salty, but that depends on how you like it. Unfortunately the service was absolutely horrible. We were very rushed and sent indoors, where we were treated briefly when taking the order, and there was no sign of friendliness. We ordered a portion of fried potatoes shortly after ordering them. When our food came and we asked for the extra portion of fried potatoes, we were told "we should start eating first". Of course, the extra portion we ordered didn't come (there weren't enough fried potatoes for both of us). No questions were asked about whether the food tasted good or whether something was missing. A slightly older woman with short, blonde hair served us. When we paid, there was a terse "thank you" and nothing more, even though we gave a tip despite the really bad service. We felt very uncomfortable and therefore won't be coming back, what a shame!

Great service and really delicious food! Locally - phenomenal. Fish, meat, cuisine a la Hamburg! My recommendation of the area. It's also great to sit outside - even if the concept of being so separate takes some getting used to, it works great!

First, we sat on the patio. This is located at the back of the building. To use the toilet you have to walk around the building. The service and food were excellent. The prices are reasonable. Only recommended!

1.5 years later back in HH, was there again on a Friday. Another recommendation for Hamburg cuisine without any fuss. This time there were pork medallions and sour meat. Delicious! Home-style cuisine with a North German touch (fish and the like). Very tasty, also the fried potatoes, after all not everyone can do them 😉. Portions were plentiful, both for the Opitz pot (with Leipziger Allerlei) and the matjes pot. Extremely attentive and friendly staff. I can fully recommend this “dining establishment”! By the way, reservations are important: on a Tuesday evening the last seat is full.

Very good place, there is a super nice woman. But the man who served us was horrible, super dry, took the €17 change and kept it. Saying he thought it was the tip, when we asked him to return it he threw it in our faces and walked away laughing at us. He told us things in German that we did not understand but it can be assumed that they were not going in the right direction.

The waiter got angry and treated us contemptuously, for not wanting to leave €17 as a tip, since we asked for change, after paying €133 for 4 covers, breaded pork carme 0.75L of water two beers with lemon and a cucumber with yogurt, and a little baked potatoes. If you like being treated and paying for it, I recommend it.

Not bad food, exagerated prices though, a bottle of water -8,5€, 0,25l beer with lemonade-3,80€, etc. Very rude elderly manager, only showed a fake nice face when he thought that we very giving him 20%tips, when we asked for a change he made a face saying that he had supposed that it was a tip and then brought us a change and literally threw it in the middle of our table. Not recommendable at all. Very dissapointing. PS. The girl water was nice and welcoming.

The restaurant is centrally located and can be easily reached by public transport or on foot. The decor is rustic but that fits the concept and I found it cozy. The service staff are very attentive and friendly. The drinks came to the table very quickly. The meal took a while, which we attributed to the large number of guests, but the waiting time was ok. The dishes are very tasty, the meat is on point, the fish is nice and tender and the kids really enjoyed the pancakes. The prices are appropriate for the quality of the food. We'll definitely come back again

I came across this because of the reviews and of course because of the delicious photos :) The fried potatoes are super tasty and the service was also very nice. The only thing is that you cannot access the terrace through the restaurant. I can't say anything about the ambience indoors since it was my first time here. I think the entrance to the terrace was a little too narrow for wheelchair users, but you'd have to take another look. The only way to get into the house is via a staircase downstairs. Therefore less suitable for wheelchair users.

Food was OK. Service could have been better. Were overwhelmed with a large group of 12 people.

Tuvimos problemas con la reserva y nos colocaron en una pequeña terraza donde cenamos muy bien. Probamos goulash, snitzel, rollo de ternera, una especie de tartar... Todo bueno bien elaborado y acompañado de patatas lombarda y remolacha. La salsa holandesa muy buena. La señora que nos sirvió muy agradable y profesional De los mejores sitios que probamos en Hamburgo.

Heel vieze gordijnen bijna zwart heel warm 3 hoofdgerechten 1 hoofdgerecht kwam half uur later heel vet geen groente. De bediening is te druk. Dessert zwemt in saus Saus van vis heel vet met klontjes. Gerechten echt niet te eten. Klimaat heel warm. De afgelopen 10 jaar niet zo slecht gegeten. Ober vraagt uitdrukkelijk om fooi. Wanneer ik het niet geef gooit hij het bonnetje nijdig naar me toe. Waar de goede reviews vandaan komen is ongelofelijk.

Real German restaurant where you can enjoy a cozy atmosphere of old times with the ship paintings and outdated nice decoration. Very nice reception! Super restaurant with specialties in the North of the Allemagne, with a charme Suranné, that absolutely has everything to do with it. L'accueil is sympathetic and chaleureux.

The dining area is in the basement and is very comfortably furnished. In warm weather there is also the option to sit in the garden. The Opitz is located near the Outer Alster. The kitchen offers delicious home-style cooking (Hamburg cuisine, such as pan fish, Labskaus, plaice). The well-fried fried potatoes are worth highlighting. The service is friendly and not intrusive. Overall, a successful evening with delicious food.

Ambiance: Tables are a bit narrow, but help is available immediately if you need a little more space. At the next vacation spot in Hamburg, Let's go back to the Opitz restaurant.

Ambience should be 4.5. Some of the tables are too narrow. But if things get tight at the table, someone is there immediately to help. The waitresses are very friendly, always on hand and quick when supplies are requested. (Other restaurants could learn a lot from this!) Food was more than just delicious - and very digestible (despite what felt like a lot stuffed in, you/I don't feel overly full! What more could you want?) We have our holiday home in Hamburg again, I'll definitely go to Opitz again!

We all liked the food (we had 4 different dishes) and the service was very friendly and attentive. Dropping by spontaneously probably won't work, you have to make a reservation in advance. On-site parking is also available.

An original restaurant, the food was unfortunately completely missing the spices/herbs, the fried potatoes had an unpleasant refrigerator taste. Although there are North Sea crabs on the map there was none on the plate, a shame

We went to the restaurant spontaneously and were still warmly welcomed. The furnishings are “quaint” and everything just fits together. The staff, I assume they are also the owners, are extremely friendly and welcoming. The food, what can I say, no fuss and just great. Honest home cooking at fair prices and just great.
