Wir haben in dem urigen Lokal sehr gut zu Abend gegessen. Zum Glück hatten wir eine Woche zuvor reserviert, sonst hätten wir keine Chance gehabt einen Tisch zu bekommen. Die Speisekarte ist gut bürgerlich und der Auflauf, den wir hatten war ausgesprochen lecker. Auch der Salat mit dem Knoblauchbrot hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Klare Empfehlung für dieses Lokal.

Locale composto da piccole salette, abbastanza accoglienti. Il servizio è stato cortese, con menù anche in inglese, anche se i piatti sono arrivati molto lentamente. Ho mangiato il soufflé con salmone e mi è piaciuto, la porzione piccola è una pirofila abbastanza grande. La birra grande è quella da mezzo litro. Prezzi medi per la città.

Offerta ampia di cibo tradizionale tedesco. Discreta qualità e buon servizio. Personale cortese, prezzi abbordabili. Consigliato.

This place came up in our phone app as serving German food with a high standard, and since it is centrally located, we decided to give it a try. We didn't have reservations, and we were greeted with some amount of hostility by the host, who obviously has disdain for tourists. After being seated, we received our menus and discovered a rather limited selection of German dishes... and it seemed that most people were ordering the Weinerschnitzel, which did look quite good. Wanting to try something a bit more regional, we both ordered the casseroles, which were quite filling but not particularly tasty. While we were eating the couple next to us had ordered the fish plate, and we regretted not ordering that since it looked excellent and it was obvious that the value for money was much better with one of those dishes. The service was typically European, they kinda leave you alone unless you ask for something, and if you need to pay the check with a credit card you need to get up and go to the cash register. What definitely turned us off to this place is that one of the waiters was serving a couple who was visiting from the UK, and they received a German language menu. The guest asked for an English menu, and the server kinda went off on her, saying that she wasn't a mind reader and making a big deal about it. If I were that couple, I would have been mortified and would have immediately left the restaurant. So if you are foreign, you might want to be aware that this place does not provide much of a warm welcome... Overall, this is okay food with okay pricing that is conveniently located and we would never go back to... Okay?

Very nice restaurant with typical Hamburg cuisine and delicious casseroles. The service was quick and child-friendly. Food was tasty and plentiful, for all non-North Germans with explanations about the preparation and history of the food.

The food was good but there was a long wait!

We spontaneously got a table there on Friday evening, ate incredibly delicious food and experienced great service! Only the seating outside in front of the house isn't really comfortable and you'd rather leave after eating instead of staying there for a while. Still HIGHLY recommended if you want to experience good service and eat very tasty food. We'd love to come back when we're in Hamburg again.

Een knus restaurant met goede bediening en verrukkelijk eten. Zoals we vaak horen hebben ze een gutburgerliche kuche maar het was meer dan gut. Het was eten op hoog niveau: een originele schnitzel en een salade hadden we. Het was zalig : complimenten aan de kok!

The matjes was really very good 👍 And the service was very friendly. Although I was certainly not the most likeable guest of all today. The baked potato with baked vegetables was also good. An atmosphere like this is no longer easy to find and is therefore doubly recommended. We'd love to come back.

We wanted to eat typical, regional food in Hamburg this evening and came across this restaurant thanks to the good Google rating. We weren't disappointed, top food, top service and pleasant local furnishings. I had housewife-style herring with fried potatoes and it was very, very tasty. We will come back on our next visit to Hamburg.

Very relaxed and friendly service. We had the Neptune fish platter and the Hamburg pan fish. Both extremely tasty and the quantity for the price is incredible. Recommended to everyone!

We zijn hier op een zaterdagavond geweest rond 1800 uur. Ondanks dat we geen reservering hadden konden we toch een tafeltje krijgen. Als ik me niet vergis wordt dit restaurant door een familie gerund, dit straalt het tenminste wel uit. De ambiance was gezellig en de bediening was vriendelijk en vlot! Het meest belangrijke was uiteraard het eten. Ik had een schnitzel besteld en deze smaakte heerlijk! Misschien wel de lekkerste die ik ooit heb gehad! Knapperig en mals! De gebakken aardappelen waren ook fantastisch en de salade ook! Een absolute aanrader!

Hamburger Original, dishes from Northern Germany, as cooked by my mother. I don't cook these dishes at home and I like to go to the run. The employees are very friendly and in a good mood. The restaurant is rustically furnished, with lots of dark wood, everything fits together. If you're not convinced yet, Ed Sheeran also eats here 🤣

Outstanding traditional food from north Germany. We got a kale casserole and hamburg panfish. Kale dishes are seasonal. Everything was excellent and service was warm and friendly. Can't go wrong eating here, sure value. Strongly recommended.

I found this restaurant and decided to try traditional German food in Hamburg. I loved the roast beef, it's just enough for one hungry person after walking around the Old Town. Of course I had to have dessert and I did not regret having the apple strudel! Perfect mix of warm and cold, with the ice cream, and just the right level of sweetness

Definitely a good place to try local food with quality ingredients and a nice vibe. My stay in Hamburg was short, but visiting this restaurant was a great choice. The dish I had, the Sahnehering, was delicious. I was really surprised by the simplicity of the plate but also, its strong flavors! I loved it. It was my first time eating raw fish in Germany so they made it memorable. As for the dessert, the Paj didn’t disappoint. It’s a must. Freshly made and special. I recommend making a reservation beforehand because when I visited, I didn’t have any and pretty much all the tables were reserved so just a heads up.

Old traditional Hamburg restaurant. At some point here, time stopped in a pleasantly pleasant way. If you like this atmosphere, you come in and feel comfortable. The food is very tasty, the portions are generous. An excellent price-performance ratio. We were very full and satisfied.

A great traditional German restaurant right in the centre of Hamburg. Lovely staff accommodated a table for 2 for us, provided an english menu (we didn’t ask but glad they provided!) and the meal was lovely. Kale week so kale with sausage and pork cheek. Kale was well cooked, far more than we do at home. The apple strudel was a great finished to a lovely meal in a nice restaurant setting.

A very old restaurant, but really cozy. A place to feel good. There is typical Hamburg food and much more. The service is very friendly, the prices are reasonable.

Was told that the restaurant up the street was more suited for us. Bear in mind they don’t look much. Very unfriendly. Tip. Don’t ask for sausage, although they have some they say it’s a street food here. Avoid this place.

The food was super tasty. The casseroles take at least 30 minutes, but they are fresh and really tasty. The portion of a “normal” sized casserole is very generous and absolutely sufficient. The atmosphere is cozy and a visit is definitely recommended.

This quaint restaurant is absolutely recommended! We were there on Saturday evening and were lucky to get a table without a reservation. We ate the Neptune fish plate and the fish plate with Dijon mustard. There were two very tasty and large portions. Three types of fish each with great fried potatoes and salad. A meal like this for just €21 is really unbeatable. Any time!

Service was good. Ambience ok too. The food, I had a casserole with spinach and chicken. It really wasn't good. Nothing meaningful in terms of taste. Thought if it was the store then also a casserole. But unfortunately it was the wrong choice. Also extremely expensive for the rather poor quality.

Large portions, friendly waiters and nice atmosphere

We walked past and saw a nice restaurant, we were immediately welcome inside and they made sure we got a seat. Long table with small tables and full of Germans! That means good food! And it certainly was. Just a tasty snitzels with potato and various vegetables. Add a pint of beer! Service was great, neat and fast!

For me, this old, cute shop is one of the best restaurants in downtown Hamburg. Price performance is great, the owners and staff are great and. the food tastes great.

Based on reviews we selected this restaurant for lunch on our first day in Hamburg as wanted to sample local dishes. It certainly lived up to expectations. Very tasty food, large portions, reasonable prices. Most memorable was the service - the staff were super helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the salmon casserole was partly undercooked and overall unseasoned.

So stellt man sich ein gutes Lokal in Hamburg vor. Haben sehr gut gegessen und die Bedienung war super. Komme gerne wieder.

Hat uns aussortiert, weil wir vor Wochen einen Betrüger in DIESEM Haus entlarvt haben....haben Mietbetrug gehört.... Jetzt dürfen wir Ärzte dort nicht mehr zum Essen kommen. Die " Chefin" wenn sie war ist total daneben... Wir denken auch das der Betrüger Vermieter auch deren Vermieter ist bzw dazu gehört... Wir waren dort 20 Jahre Essen... Wir dürfen nicht mehr kommen, weil wir was gesagt haben... Nicht zu empfehlen...nur Essen super

Ate here twice on our weekend in Hamburg, wonderful experience both times. Food excellent and in very large portions (especially the casserole: would advise ordering a small if you're not having a starter). Service very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Only small criticism our group had was that hot food came on cold plates, which did lead to some food becoming lukewarm during the meal, but otherwise fabulous.

Das Laufauf ist ein tolles, altes Restaurant und Lokal in der Hamburger Altstadt. Es gibt von diesen Lokalen leider nur noch wenige. Hier lebt Hamburg und die Gerichte sind sehr lecker und original. Der Chef hat bis heute selbst am Herd gestanden. Alles Gute Nils. Der Abschied war für mich sehr emotional. LG Ralf

Ein uriges Gasthaus mit über 20jähriger Tradition. Das Essen (Grünkohl, Kochwurst, Kassler für 22,50 €) geschmacklich gut und reichhaltig. Service o.k., ordentlich Weinstein im Glas, zu spät bemerkt (welches einen Ersatz rechtfertigt hätte), Kritik wurde damit zurück gewiesen, dass das beim Ausgießen von Wein üblich wäre. Vorschlag, dann kippt doch den Rest der Flasche durch einen Kaffeefilter, wenn die Getränke so stramm kalkuliert sind. Das ist allerdings der einzig wirklich negative Eindruck von der Location. Da kann man gerne wieder hin...

Wir (ein Pärchen) sind an einem Freitagabend spontan in das Lokal gekommen. Uns wurde trotz fehlender Reservierung sehr schnell ein Tisch organisiert! Das Essen hat uns beiden sehr gut geschmeckt. Ein gut bürgerliches Lokal, in das wir sehr gerne wieder gehen!

Typische Hamburger Kneipe mit super Service und mega lecker essen! Ein Besuch lohnt sich auf jeden Fall! Reservierung wäre empfehlenswert. Platz ist etwas knapp bei dem Besuchsaufkommen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!!

Einfach grandios! Uriges Ambiente und neben Hamburger Küche auch Aufläufe. Der Service ist aufmerksam und herzlich. Das Essen ist phänomenal. Wir hatten Grünkohl mit Pannfisch, Roastbeef und das Wiener Schnitzel. Sehr lecker. Kommen immer gern her.

War jetzt das dritte mal hier Punkt Essen hervorragend. Portion grenzwertig, ein wenig zu viel. Hatte grünkohl mit Kassler und Wurst und Bratkartoffeln. War mega lecker. Wohne außerhalb deshalb bin ich nicht so oft hier Punkt aber wenn ich hier bin, kehre ich dort gerne ein. Sehr nettes Ambiente, aber nicht barrierefrei. Kann ich sehr empfehlen!

Best schnitzel meal I ever had! Potatoes were amazing,salad so tasty and the schnitzel so crispy. Portions are quite big which is nice! 😍 As well I was surprised to see the staff so friendly and talkative😅 At the end we got some Christmas chocolates as well👌🏼😍 Definitely my fav restaurant in Germany! Ps. They just need some music on the background ✌🏻

Bestes Restaurant mit norddeutscher Küche. Hier schmeckt wirklich ALLES. Besonders hervorzuheben natürlich das Angebot norddeutscher Gerichte, sowie die namensgebenden Aufläufe.
