A really great restaurant, the service is incredibly charming, warm and funny. Here you can feel the fun at work. The food was also very tasty, we had casseroles in a small size, which was very appropriate if you're not super hungry. We were always full and the taste was simply different. Tried the lunch menu here. The goulash was delicious, but I would have expected more in terms of taste. The service was super friendly and in a good mood. It is definitely advisable to make a reservation for lunch too. I will definitely try again.

It was a wonderful restaurant! ・Alsterbusser ・Lapuskaus ・Apfelstrudel I ordered. Since I was alone, I struggled with the amount of food, but it was easy to eat my first lapskaus! It was delicious✨ I made a reservation in advance.

On Saturday January 4th, 2025 we wanted to go to the Laufauf restaurant that we know well. But what happened to us there. Read for yourself. We entered the restaurant around 12:30 p.m. and went down the small stairs. There was no sign of the staff from this angle. But hearing seconds later "Can't you say hello" was the first approach. After trying to explain that she (the employee) hadn't seen her, she was immediately told that it was still closed. Strange door opens, advertisements are on outside and more guests are already in the restaurant. When asked when it would be open, the answer was that it was actually still closed but we could wait. So we were shown to a table quite far back, note there are a lot of reservations. My question about whether we could order drinks was brushed off with the comment "It's still closed". We were just about to sit down and wait when the employee went to the other table and complained loudly about us. “No hello and just order something”. We then left the restaurant without saying hello or goodbye. Dear Laufauf team, I work in a job with a lot of customer contact. That doesn't work at all. You won't be seeing us in your restaurant any time soon. MFG F.Busse

Spontaneously got a table, which was really lucky - so make a reservation! Very nice waiter and good service. We had a casserole and a fish dish and were very happy with everything! Delicious food at normal prices.

A very nice, rustic restaurant with traditional North German cuisine. The welcome was very warm🥰, the food was very, very tasty😋😋😋. We took the daddeldu with us straight away because it is very drinkable. Always happy 👍

The food was traditional and very tasty. The waiters are friendly and funny. The furnishings have a traditional, old charm. The Franzbrötchen casserole was particularly delicious. I'd love to come back.

We reserved online for lunch (which is really recommended), absolutely easy and got a good seat. Very friendly service, despite the many guests, quick service with drinks and food. Everything was delicious, good portions from the lunch menu and many other delicacies to choose from. Fish and meat consistently good. We would love to come back!

It's a restaurant that reflects Hamburg's old atmosphere very well, with a very polite Turkish waiter. The food is great, the portions are a bit big, it's better to ask for caution, some dishes can be shared by two people, the beers were also very good.

We ate there twice during our stay in Hamburg. Once for lunch and once for dinner. We weren't disappointed both times. The service was always attentive, the food was always hot and tasty. The prices are definitely reasonable.

Everything was good but the dish came with an extra surprise sausage cut in half. I don't know if it's part of the dish or if it was a reused dish. Strange.

Obwohl es recht voll war und wir nicht reserviert hatten, wurden wir freundlich empfangen und es gab noch einen Tisch für uns drei. Das Personal war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Die Aufläufe, die wir bestellt haben waren sehr lecker und es hat uns geschmeckt.

Everything was very good with this place. It was coincidentally visiting and eating but they helped us to find a place and really fast. It was just extremely hot inside.

We really liked it...the panfish with fried potatoes was a poem and the goose leg with dumplings was also delicious...All in all, there's nothing to complain about 😁

It was crowded and loud and we had to wait a long time for food. Anyone who likes kale was sure to be happy. My mushroom casserole was rather bland and the mushrooms were probably not fresh. To pay you had to go to the checkout, where there was a queue like in a supermarket.

Traditional and authentic food, it comes in huge portions. We had the pan fish and the herring in cream sauce. The fried potatoes that come with the fish are the highlight of the dishes, absolutely delicious.

A wonderful location to get together and eat delicious food. Certainly a little noisy but that can't ruin a good evening.

The service was very good. Unfortunately we didn't really like the food. The meat was very tough and some of the potatoes were undercooked. After pointing this out, we didn't have to pay for the meal, very accommodating and nice.

After we unfortunately arrived late the evening before and the kitchen had already closed (our mistake), we came back the following lunchtime and were warmly welcomed with a “nice that you want to try it again today”. The waiters were super friendly and sweet. The atmosphere is like in a good old German pub or a good old tavern. That was one of the reasons we really wanted to try it. There were some delicious dishes and once again I couldn't decide. The house recommended the roast beef to me, which I also shortlisted and ultimately took. The potatoes were perfect, not too limp, not too hard, the roast beef itself was very tasty and just right, the salad went perfectly with it too. It tasted very good. After the meal we obviously had one or two beers - as is usual in a good old pub. Nice climate and a great atmosphere. We got into conversation with the waitress and other guests - I found it very nice. I liked it overall. I can recommend it with a clear conscience. Keep it up! :)

An excellent establishment, everything is very polite, tasty and there are dishes that cannot be found in other German cities. Ukrainians also work in the institution, so 5 stars)

Nice, quaint restaurant with German cuisine. Very tasty goose leg eaten with dumplings and red cabbage. Service great. The only negative point is the poor ventilation.

We were there for lunch and found a cozy restaurant. The waitress/waiter were very nice. Our son ordered pumpkin soup, which he didn't like and in exchange he got pasta with tomato sauce - great. My pumpkin casserole was simply replaced with feta cheese instead of goat cheese - really great. The warm round piece from my husband was so sufficient that we had it packed up. Thank you for the great service, when we are back in Hamburg - we will stop by again.

It's a small and quiet shop, with dim lights and a relaxing atmosphere. It's easy to find because it's centrally located, but if you come by car, parking may be a problem during peak hours. First of all, the service attendant was very friendly and polite. We were very pleased with the service. Having English menus for foreigners is a smart move. We ordered schnitzel and roast beef. Roast beef is served cold. Along with very delicious steak slices with well-adjusted cooking temperature, roasted potatoes with onion and bacon in gratin form are delicious. I cannot say that the Schnitzel was very good, it was a little dry and the taste did not appeal to our taste. As someone who loves dark beer, I loved the Hövels beer I found here. If you like dark, be sure to try it. When paying the bill, they ask how much tip you want to leave. A shop that is obviously successful in local dishes won our appreciation even though it was not to our taste.

Wir haben in dem urigen Lokal sehr gut zu Abend gegessen. Zum Glück hatten wir eine Woche zuvor reserviert, sonst hätten wir keine Chance gehabt einen Tisch zu bekommen. Die Speisekarte ist gut bürgerlich und der Auflauf, den wir hatten war ausgesprochen lecker. Auch der Salat mit dem Knoblauchbrot hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Klare Empfehlung für dieses Lokal.

The waiter was very unpleasant and angry when we told him not to bother giving money change after paying. He wanted a tip (but it wasn't a tip at that time, just like you tell a cashier not to bother giving change for a €9.90 bill when you're giving €10 !). We were planning to give a substantial tip at reception but we saw the waiter laughing at us with his colleague in German, thinking that we wouldn't understand him.

For us, Laufauf is the address for honest and straightforward home cooking. This is not meant to be derogatory at all. The Laufauf impresses with great quality, friendly and attentive service and a feel-good atmosphere

Nice restaurant. We were there spontaneously in the early evening and managed to get a spot. However, it is better to make a reservation. My schnitzel was great and the blueberry dessert is super delicious!

Traditional, typical food in an authentic atmosphere - simply great.

We didn't have a reservation but they still found a place for us. The atmosphere was quaint. Maybe a little too cramped but comfortable. The waiter was very friendly, personable, tried hard but not intrusive. The food came quickly, was plentiful and very tasty!

We sat there with the family in the evening. Authentic pub, very friendly service, the Labskaus were excellent, the pan fish and the Wienerschnitzel too. The atmosphere is cool, we felt very comfortable there and would go there again.

Quaint Hamburger restaurant, reservation recommended. We were there with friends from Hamburg and it is cozy and rustic. We didn't dare try Labskaus but Pannfisch etc. were very tasty 😋

A must visit restaurant in Hamburg. We tried the salad, schnitzel which was excellent and the kids enjoyed their pasta as well. The employees took care of us very well and took the time to explain the dishes. Highly recommend it.

Local craft beer quite good but Wiener Schnitzel was not crispy at all and full of cooking oil together with grilled potatoes.
