Anno is a true institution! A great place for delicious food and drinks, and above all, a nice chat – a recommendation for years!

Very good regional cuisine (homemade)

We loved the restaurant. They cook delicious traditional northern German food, and the service was excellent. I ordered Grünkohl, which I hadn't had yet this year, and it was fantastic.

The portions are very large and plentiful, and everything arrives piping hot. However, I would like to criticize the side salad, which was soggy. A friend of mine had too little red cabbage. The portion size of the very tasty dessert was disproportionately large; they meant well, but it was too much for many in the group to finish. All in all, it was worth the price. I didn't like the ventilation; it was too warm even though the heating wasn't on.

Delicious food, great service, great atmosphere, would come again anytime.

Food below average. Greasy and far too dark fried potatoes. Farmer's breakfast flat and hard. The service was chatty and tried to be funny, but forgot the second drink order, which was on the bill. Nice atmosphere, but you can get better food elsewhere. Never again...

We celebrated our Christmas Party and our 50 guests were delighted with great tasting buffet options. Vegetarian and Gluten Options in addition to non vegetarian delighted the guests - we sat in cozy rooms and the staff was friendly and helpful. Thank you!

A place to feel good - very delicious food and extremely friendly service.

We had Labskaus. Rollmops, beetroot, cucumber, fried egg—everything you'd expect. Very tasty, served quickly and with a very friendly atmosphere. They also had Schöffehofer non-alcoholic wheat beer. A quaint pub in its original condition, but with comfortable chairs. Reserving a table is highly recommended. We'll definitely go again.

The kale was excellent. The staff was nice and friendly. The children had a great time, as did we. The price was right. We'd gladly come again.

We were looking for a good restaurant near our hotel and came across Anno 1905, and what can I say? It wasn't just good, it was very good. The food was excellent, all homemade (Frank Rosin would have loved that), the service was fantastic, and the atmosphere made you feel like you've stepped back in time. A tip: try the Franzbrötchen liqueur, it's delicious; I immediately bought a bottle. We're often in Hamburg, and from now on, a meal at Anno 1905 is a must-do when visiting.

The best restaurant in Hamburg!

You feel transported back to the oft-quoted "good old days" in this wood-paneled dining room with pillars supporting the stucco-lined ceiling at a height of over four meters. In the center of the room, a huge chandelier in the style of the early 19th century casts a warm glow. An authentic Hamburg bar with a retro beer tap offers, in addition to regional Hamburg and North German beers, a tasty "Bayreuther" lager fresh from the barrel for those who prefer a less bitter beer. The friendly waiter, with his good humor and authentic Hamburg accent, makes every visit to the table a delightful experience for the guest. The prices are absolutely reasonable for a restaurant in a cosmopolitan city, and the portions – they serve exclusively regional, down-to-earth, home-style food of the highest quality – are stunning and almost impossible for the average eater to handle. However, they're happy to offer a doggy bag to take home leftovers. When we are back in Hamburg, we will be happy to come back!

Restaurant number 1 in Hamburg!

A bit rancid on the outside, but one of the best bars I've ever been to inside. The service is really great, the men are very authentic and really cool. I had the roulade and was more than impressed.

There are already enough photos. I had sauerfleisch (pork) with fried potatoes. I had a Sinalco Cola, a cappuccino, and a latte macchiato. The service was super good, the food was excellent, the restrooms were clean, and the prices were okay. What more could you want? I had a great time here.

We were there for the second time, and this time we were extremely disappointed. How could they pour mustard sauce over the fried potatoes when they were serving pan-fried fish with fried potatoes? The crispiness was ruined. When I asked about it, I got a very stupid answer from the boss himself: "We've always done it that way, you could have said something." Everyone knows that the sauce is special, but it's not here. Furthermore, the boss said that having to sit down at our table is no problem, but staying seated and not noticing that you're disturbing us... The service was excellent, though... It's a shame that everything has become so boring...

We're from Kiel and our children gave us a voucher for this restaurant. It's simply worth a visit. From the rustic ambiance to the friendly, unobtrusive service, to the soft background music, the charm is stunning. We visit Hamburg often and will eat there again. I've never had such fresh fish in beer batter, and so much fish at that. The value for money is absolutely spot on.

We really like Anno! The service is friendly and authentic, and the food is delicious. Easy to reach by bus or train. German food. Labskaus, a Hamburg favorite, is highly recommended! We stayed a bit longer and enjoyed a few drinks in the pleasant atmosphere.

What was particularly nice was the queer-friendly atmosphere, where everyone feels welcome. The food was simply fantastic – large portions, incredibly delicious, and prepared with lots of love (including vegan options). They also served really good beer and ice-cold water – just as it should be. The decor is lovely, rustic, and cozy – a place where you feel at home. We'll definitely be back!

Wir waren anlässlich eines Musical-Besuchs in der Neuen Flora vorher im Anno 1905 Abendessen. Online-Reservierung hat super geklappt. Wir waren begeistert vom „typischen“ Hamburger Interieur. Essen war lecker und wir haben genau das erwartet. Landhaus haben wir uns als Vorspeise geteilt und er war sehr lecker. Machen wir auf jeden Fall wieder.

Unfortunately, my milestone birthday was somewhat marred. When I asked to be seated somewhere other than the one by the door, the response was very flippant. This was unfortunately not the first time I've had such an experience with the bar staff. They didn't ask at all whether everything was okay. And the fried potatoes were unfortunately burnt. These things can happen, but it was disappointing that two dishes on the menu were sold out, and that only an hour after opening. One bright spot, however, was the table service, even though there was no question here either. All in all, I was a bit disappointed. What a shame.

The worst place in Hamburg, we invited friends from another country who wanted traditional food and they served us terribly, after more than an hour of waiting and an absurd argument with a waiter, we had to leave without eating.

We traveled to Hamburg just to try this place—we ended up leaving very disappointed. When we arrived, we waited about 20 minutes for our drink order to be taken. One of us got the wrong drink, and instead of simply replacing it, the server got angry. After that, we waited another 25 minutes to finally order food. When we finally got attention, the server became aggressive and raised his voice. It was a horrible experience. I never expected anything like this. I suppose the food might be great, but unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to enjoy it.

We found a great little quaint restaurant where the food was delicious. Super friendly service, a great selection of food and drinks at fair prices. The interior is simply dreamy. Keep up the great work guys👏👏👏

As for the wait time for food, our visit with a 60-person tour group was simply abysmal, despite a pre-selection of only three very easy-to-prepare dishes and a pre-order eight hours in advance. The first plates weren't served for about 70 minutes, and the last ones after about 90 minutes.

The food was excellent but we were disapointed by the very slowness of the service. We arrive around 19h. We had one main dish. When we try to talk to the waiter to have the dessert menu around 20.30, he first came back with the bill and then forgot us during more than 20 minutes. I finaly chose to leave as our daughter felt asleep on her chair; and when my husband try to explain the situation the waiter took it very badly. It's regrettable.

This place was one of the reasons I travelled to Hamburg. It did not disappoint. I had the Labskaus having seen it on TV programme Travel Man. It was delicious. A combination of flavours I have never had before. 10/10.

Went there today without a reservation and were lucky. But it's better to make a reservation. The atmosphere is rustic, a great restaurant with charm. It was quite comfortable, but the waiters still had everything under control. The food is homemade and very tasty. We had Wiener Schnitzel, farmer's breakfast and beef roulade. Everything tasted very good and was nicely prepared. Prices were reasonable. For 3 people 80€. We'll come back when we're in Hamburg.

Before our visit to the Hercules musical we ate at Anno 1905 - overall a good choice! The online reservation went smoothly, which was a plus. The food was delicious: the bread with lard was good, but there was a lot more bread than necessary. The fish & chips were tasty, but the portion of fries was a bit tight. Everything was within reasonable price. The waiter was typically “Hamburgish-cheeky” – not everyone likes that, but I thought it was okay. The only real negative point: It was quite cold in the restaurant, which somewhat diminished the feeling of well-being. All in all, a quaint restaurant with solid cuisine – a good start to the evening!

Have lived in Hamburg for 8 years and always gone past, but last week had my first experience of Anno and I’ll be going back. There is a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the restaurant and you can immediately feel at home here. Traditional German comfort food, great selection of beers and friendly staff… a winner all round

No reliance on agreements and anyone who complains about it will be insulted! For the skat group, which had met in the bar with certain regularity over the years to play there, an appointment was arranged with the innkeeper where we wanted to be really pampered; after all, the skat fund was to be plundered for this purpose. We agreed with the landlord that we would get an extra room. But we should come during the week because of the lower occupancy, which is what we did last night. However, the innkeeper then assigned us the table in the restaurant that we usually always used. When we pointed out that we had been promised an extra room, the landlord immediately reacted extremely angrily and denied the agreement. The room is not heated and even our consumption would not be enough to cover these heating costs. In any case, we were practically thrown out and the innkeeper's tirades accompanied us all the way to the exit door.

We were looking for a restaurant that had both a classic authentic feel and with great authentic food. Researching online, we were recommended this location. It lived up to our expectations. We did sit in a corner “behind” the bar. For more atmosphere, I would have preferred to sit with the bar visible. Price was great too. It will take a long walk or trip with the S-bahn to get here from the center, but it’s worth it.

Drink prices high. Food prices are rather above average. Not bad, but you have to keep it in mind. Service and ambience as you wish. Disturbing, the early request for last drink orders, the restaurant closes at 10 p.m. I'll go back, but you should know almost everything.
