Super quality and great price/performance ratio.

I visited the Schwabentörle and was thrilled. The price-performance ratio is unbeatable. I had the Berlin-style beef liver with salad and was absolutely convinced by the quality and taste. The liver was buttery tender and the combination with the apples and onions was simply perfect. The salad was also very tasty. The service was also excellent – ​​very friendly, attentive and quick. I can only warmly recommend Schwabentörle if you want to enjoy home-style cuisine at fair prices and with great service!

I didn't think it was so nice to sell 3 stalks of asparagus as 250g. Otherwise everything was pretty good overall.

I like coming here because of the freshly tapped beer, which I particularly like, but the food was also good, the ambience is typical of a brewery restaurant

A great restaurant for everyone At Kartoffelhaus in Freiburg, everyone is in good hands – whether you want to eat gluten-free, lactose-free, or just eat normal food. There's something for everyone, and the food is truly delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You immediately feel at home. The restaurant itself is cozy and beautifully decorated – it's simply a pleasure to be there. In conclusion: If you want to eat well while paying attention to your diet, Kartoffelhaus is the right place for you!

Downright romantic! We spent 2 nights in the spacious “family room” number 7 (room number 5 next door is much smaller). However, the sleeper under the sloping roof should not get up suddenly without thinking. You sink into the soft sofa in the living room in front of the television. The wooden steps to the second floor were tolerable for heart/asthma sufferers. The pretty hotel all around is particularly impressive because of its ideal location in the old town. Next door the border stream rushes with the stone crocodile. Beer garden in front of the house, which closes around 10 p.m. and didn't bother us in terms of noise. Rolling suitcases on Freiburg's cobblestones are more uncomfortable. The many different service employees were always friendly and helpful despite minor language difficulties (which was not due to Hessian-Swabian). Plenty of space in the cupboards too. There is an abundance of sockets in every room (wonderful). It was very pleasant to shower in the whirlpool-like bathtub. 2 large windows in the bathroom are also welcome. Kitchenette, microwave etc. available. Fridge is missing (but we didn't need it). However, we were only able to take sparkling water from the restaurant in large containers or in 0.2 liter bottles. Bottled Coke was not offered. Restaurant/breakfast area in small plots, winding and very cozy. Breakfast was standard, given our late appetite we were very happy with the cheese spaetzle/salad and 6 snails in the pot. All other guests were in a good mood and had to “move on” to the surrounding area when business closed at 10 p.m.

Unfortunately not as good as before. The menu was significantly shortened and the food itself was not good at all. One schnitzel was partially burnt, the other two schnitzels were soggy and the tarte flambée tasted like plastic. It's a real shame because the store used to be quite good.

Been here again after a long time. And we have to say with the new owners we highly recommend it, great service, delicious food and super attentive waiters

Restaurant highly recommended! The service was prompt and very accommodating! Salad was fresh! The main course was very well prepared and very tasty! We'll be back!!!

We were here for brunch. The whole thing for €44 per person. P Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Starting with the very nice service staff, who unfortunately didn't provide good service. Our plates were not cleared and were literally piled up on our table. Even if you wanted something to drink, you had to go to the counter to order. About the food: The breakfast was great. However, lunch was not satisfactory. The “hand-scraped” spaetzle was not edible. The bread dumplings tasted like dry bread. Signs/plates/knives/forks were missing everywhere. The desserts, however, were again very satisfying. In summary, a very disappointing experience.

We had lunch there, it was very generous and delicious. I recommend this restaurant 👍
