Unfortunately a disappointment. Poorly cooked and unfriendly service. You don't have to be a gourmet and you don't have to expect miracles in a pub to be horrified by overcooked food that was served carelessly. Spaetzle as soft as porridge. Ingredients for the canned Salta. And a ready-made sauce for the meat. The highlight was the hard stalk of a cauliflower, without florets, as a side dish. Everyone cooks better in private!

Very good - an example of customer-oriented action. Great when you have employees like that. The waiter didn't want to serve us though the super friendly waitress named Lilli (very uncomplicated and customer-oriented!) .... despite the full house still gave us a table. On a day trip in Freiburg we were happy about a good and delicious meal. The Gasthaus zum Rauhen Mann was on the way into the city and made a nice impression with an outdoor terrace and located directly on the Bächle. We ordered bratwursts with Brägele (fried potatoes) and salad twice. There was no nice greeting here. The waiter seemed a bit rough and unsympathetic. He couldn't score any more points with a quick comment when ordering. When the food was brought out, I had to smile a little inwardly and asked myself whether this was meant seriously. The bratwursts looked and tasted like grilled sausages. The sauce tasted like cheap, ready-made sauce, the mini vegetable side dish tasted like nothing and the fried potatoes were super greasy. Only the salad scored points here. Conclusion: Nice outdoor location, but I can't recommend the food. It's a shame, you could do a lot more with it!

Looking for a traditional restaurant we decided to have lunch in this one. A large square with many tables occupied by local people. Although we ran into a grumpy waiter who was in a hurry and who at no time made the effort to understand each other in English, although he did address other tables of tourists (sorry but our knowledge of 'German are very fair and we did what we could with Google Lens). We were able to enjoy the "Sauerbraten Mit Spätzle" roast with its intensely flavored sauce and the "Schnitzel Mit Pommes" escalope, both accompanied by a salad plate with sweet and sour cucumber. Dishes that were recommended to us by two German girls with whom we kindly shared our bewilderment (Danke!). The dishes were generous in quantity and very tasty accompanied by local beer. We would repeat.

Impatient, rude waitress who wiped the table 'clean' with a rag that smelled of a very diverse microbiome. The Alsatian tarte flambée rivals any American pizza with its cheese mixture. The tarte flambée base was even fried due to the dripping cheese fat. The menu is completely overloaded and confusing. Some dishes are repeated several times. Why not reduce your offering to 10 really good dishes instead of making 100 bad ones? The location is great, make something of it!!

Actually a very nice place to enjoy dinner in Freiburg. I had a sausage salad, but was "a little" disappointed. The ingredients (especially the sliced ​​meat sausage) were carelessly thrown together, lots of vinegar, few flavors. We were there in the month of July on a somewhat rainy day but it was very pleasant to eat on this terrace sheltered from the rain since it has large umbrellas. The environment is very quiet despite being located in the canal area and having a lot of tourist movement, but being located in a small corner square it is the perfect place to have a quiet meal. We were three diners and we ordered a kind of pizza that was huge and that they call Elsasser flammkuchen which translated is flambéed cake from Alsace, a typical dish with mushrooms, fried egg and potato pancakes called Gebrat Pfiffis and a plate of Bratwürst They were very rich. The portions are quite large and you are more than satisfied. Priced quite well since the product is good and you are in the heart of the city. The only thing to improve is the waiting time, there was only one waitress for the entire terrace and all the tables were occupied.

We came with high expectations due to the good Google reviews. Unfortunately, both of our dishes (dumplings and chanterelles and spaetzle) were lukewarm to cold. It was tasty, but not exceptionally good. However, you sit very nicely right on the river in a nice atmosphere!

We came with a small group of 6 people. around 10 p.m to have a little something to eat. The five of us ordered chanterelle omelette. Instead of an omelette, I received scrambled eggs with chanterelles, which were unseasoned but warm and carelessly spread out on the plate!

We were greeted kindly and made to sit inside. A salad is served as an appetizer, offered on the house. We ordered wiener schnitzel with chips as a child and one as an adult with baked potatoes. The food was delicious and the ambience was nice. We weren't that happy with the service. There were only 2 employees who were responsible for ordering, bringing the food and paying. That's far too few employees and that's why they were very stressed.

We have eaten here twice. The menu has a huge range of German dishes, a good kids menu, and the list of "light dishes", like sausages or lard with bread, that always makes us laugh. Good location and the restaurant has outdoor seating in the front near the canal or in a garden at the back. This time we had spargel with smoked salmon from the seasonal menu. It was OK, not top quality. The schnitzel had excellent seasoning and was good, though I prefer it to be thinner. French fries are splendid. Overall a pleasant place to eat with plenty of options, including pork knuckle and roast pork.

The outdoor terrace - a wonderful place to stay or eat! Fantastically located under shady trees, next to the small river with the crocodile. Relatively quiet location, friendly service. Unfortunately, the only waitress was overwhelmed by the large number of visitors (she can't help it, just a lack of staff!), despite intensive efforts. The quality of the food (salad, cheese spaetzle) and the cold drinks were wonderful, the spaetzle almost perfect! The price is a bit high, but appropriate for the location. There are toilets in the “main restaurant” in the basement (stairs!). These were clean and almost flawless. We would be happy to come back on our next visit.

We spontaneously ate here today and had an asparagus salad with salmon for 21 euros that was so incredibly small that we were shocked when it came to the table. Spices and the supposed raspberry dressing were probably forgotten, we had to add salt 4 times because it really didn't taste like anything. My friend had tomato rice with champions, and the portion for 17 euros was simply cheeky. The wine tasted great, the service was quick and competent, but otherwise we definitely wouldn't come back and definitely wouldn't recommend the shop, for the prices and the bland food, no thanks...

The service is really OK and efficient. The atmosphere is very nice inside and it can be really enjoyable outside, considering that the small water stream nearby brings a bit of freshness. The food is unfortunately but average. I had a pork steak that was slightly overcooked with slightly overcooked veggies and Spätzle that were a bit mushy. Prices are OK though.

An hour after the end of the game, after our team had handed SC Freiburg a 4-1 home defeat, we wanted to have dinner at the "Gasthaus zum rauhen Mann", wearing the away team's jersey. A waitress immediately wanted to turn to us and assign us a table outside. In the meantime we turned to a waiter who apparently seemed very unfriendly and told us he didn't have a table for us! After another table became available, we turned to him again, he ignored us and turned to other guests (wearing the FC Freiburg jersey) and assigned them a table! We learned that guest fans are not welcome in the “Gasthaus zum rauhen Mann”!

Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience. Food is generally good but not outstanding. Unfortunately, the service was completely overwhelmed and therefore quite unfriendly. There were two employees responsible for everything. Waiting time was forever. If you had a question or needed something, the answer was "Not now, I'll be right there." Very unfortunate. But the outdoor area is a no-brainer, super beautiful!

13€ is way too much for this dish. Cheap ingredients and boring taste. But the salad was delicious and the service was friendly Update (March 18, 2024, almost three years later): The restaurant is threatening me - and other guests - with a legal letter and wants to delete my review. Absolutely dodgy. But the photo speaks for itself. Rice, tomato sauce, hardly any spices and the bland mushrooms for €13 are no better in my memory than they were back then.

Wrong bill and tip request. Because the children's spaetzle had an absolutely watery sauce, I only tipped 90 cents. The waitress pointed out that a 10% tip is customary. Given our bill, that would have been a completely unreasonable €9. We later discovered that there were 2 drinks too many on the bill. Nobody had a cappuccino and I only had one pilsner. Fraud and demanding tips - we haven't experienced anything like that in a long time.

The beef fillet was very tasty. The service was able to fulfill all wishes. Gladly again...

My family and I didn't like it here. We found the price-performance ratio very poor and felt left alone by the service.

Update: The restaurant owner is threatening to hire a lawyer and take legal action because of my 4-year-old review. I don't think there's anything more that needs to be said about it. Bottom drawer. Had the worst experience in the catering industry imaginable twice. Impossible staff, impossible handling of guests and food that has the quality of frozen soup. Unfortunately, the location still brings them enough guests... Such a bad restaurant should learn its lesson from empty seats!

Very tasty food, generous portions and fair prices! The service staff were very attentive and friendly. They remain extremely patient and courteous even when other guests behave aggressively and rudely. Even if this certainly doesn't simply rub off on people, as was understandably noticeable. Sehr gutes leckeres Essen und Trinken. Und der Service ist sehr freundlich und super schnell.

Wir hatten Lammkeule bestellt und haben uns darauf gefreut, wurden aber enttäuscht. Zum einen war das Fleisch nicht zart genug gegart, dann war es schon grenzwertig zum Hammel, was man geschmeckt hat. Die Soße war gut, der Salat ebenfalls. Da ich ein stumpfes Messer hatte, bat ich um ein scharfes, kurz drauf brauchten wir Pfeffer für die ungekürzte Bratkartoffeln, da wirkte der Kellner schon leicht genervt. Als wir mitteilten, dass das Fleisch schon zum Hammel tendiere, wurde überhaupt nicht darauf eingegangen. Danach wurde man nur noch geduldet, was Folgendes nur beweist: Da wir anfangs nach Desserts gefragt hatten, musste der Kellner wissen, dass wir daran interessiert waren, aber weder beim oder nach dem Abräumen hat er gefragt. Also haben wir bezahlt. Um das zu können mussten wir zweimal was sagen und beim Zahlen mied der Kellner jeglichen Kontakt über das Ansagen des Betrags, ganz zu schweigen von einer höflichen Verabschiedung. Kein Restaurant in das wir noch mal gehen, wenn man als Gast so behandelt wird.

Sehr leckeres Schäufele und gut, dass es das Gericht auch in kleinere Ausgabe gibt. Flotte und freundliche Bedienung.

Ein toller Ort zum gutbürgerlich Essen

Essen war geschmacklich gut allerdings war es relativ kalt da es auf eiskalten Teller serviert wurde.

Bei einem Stadtrundgang kamen wir an diesem Gasthaus vorbei. Zu Abend hatten wir bereits gegessen. So gingen wir ins Lokal. Setzten uns an den Tresen. Das Lokal war ungemütlich. Das Personal super freundlich, der Wein spitze. Und so kamen wir mit einem Gast ins Gespräch. Schöner Abend. Am nächsten Tag waren wir zum Abendessen dort. Wir saßen draußen unterm Baum am Bächle. Super gemütlich und romantisch. Das Essen, ein Flammkuchen. Es war wohl einer der besten, den ich bisher gegessen hatte. Der Wein war immer noch spitze . Wir kommen beim nächsten Besuch in Freiburg bestimmt wieder.

Kurz vor Küchenschluss noch schnell was zum Essen bestellt. Das Essen war soweit gut, es hätte aber etwas heisser sein können. Leider kam durch die Schließung des Lokals etwas Hektik auf und es war weniger gemütlich. Man fühlte sich zum schnellen Aufessen getrieben. Andere Uhrzeit wäre es vielleicht besser gewesen, also auf die Zeiten achten!

War nun innerhalb von 14 Tagen 3x dort und wurde nie enttäuscht. Nette und aufmerksame Bedienung. Das Essen war wirklich gut. Es gibt meinerseits nichts zu beanstanden. Ich kann nur " Danke" sagen für die Bewirtung und würde jederzeit wieder einkehren.

Das Ambiente unter dem Kastanienbaum und die Lage sind sehr schön und waren dann auch schon das Beste. Bestellt haben wir 2 Wasser. Bekommen haben wir automatisch 2 teure Halbliterflaschen, obwohl es auch offene Gläser hätte. Wir wurden gar nicht gefragt. Der Kellner war nicht unfreundlich, aber auch nicht wahnsinnig aufmerksam. Das Essen war leider nicht gut. Frische Pfifferlinge mit Knödel und Salat. Der grüne Salat war eine riesen Portion, die niemand essen mag (als das Foto gemacht wurde, war schon ein Teil des Salates gegessen!). Darunter hatte es auch Blätter, die nicht schön aussahen. Beim Hinstellen der Knödel-Teller bekam ich sofort einen Maggi-Glutamat-Duft in die Nase. So schmeckte auch die Sauce, die übrigens recht dünn war. Die Pfifferlinge hatten ebenfalls teils unschöne Stellen und teils klebte noch der Wald daran. Heisst, sie wurden nicht richtig geputzt. Die Knödel waren eher matschig. Alles in Allem leider ein Reinfall und das Essen schmeckte eher nach Kantine anstatt nach Restaurant.

Sehr schönes Lokal, dass wir auf unserem Spaziergang durch Freiburg entdeckt haben. Wir haben draußen gesessen unter einem großen Kastanienbaum. Sehr gemütlich. Es war überall sehr voll an diesem verlängerten Wochenende. Trotzdem waren die Bedienungen sehr freundlich. Das Essen kam schnell und hat sehr lecker geschmeckt. Pfifferlinge mit Omelett und Salat sowie Käsespätzle mit Salat. Die Speisekarte bietet viele Gerichte mit Pfifferlingen und regionale Spezialitäten. Das Preis - Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut in Ordnung.

Geniale Location, sehr viel liebe zum Detail im Rustikalen Stil, das Essen war ebenfalls eine Hausnummer, Fleisch schön zart und das Gemüse knackig mit leckerer Rahmsoße! Service war eine glatte 1a, super freundlicher und flotter Service. Wenn ich das nächste mal in der nähe bin im schönen Schwarzwald, dann immer wieder gerne! Great place for a quick "vesper" or lunch. Not shabby on portion sizes and not very expensive. Of course it is freiburg so you shouldn't expect bottom prices. Very outwardly happy male waiter, which is a bit rare in Germany, but was very nice.

Wir waren am 29.06. dort zum Essen.. Sehr gemütlich, Essen preis leistung nicht zufrieden stellend. Kellner hatte auch nicht so richtig lust! Muss nicht noch mal sein.

Toll gelegenes Restaurant. Wir saßen draußen es war ein Träumchen. Da wir nur ein Nachmittagsbierchen in der Sonne genossen haben, können wir leider nichts über die Speisekarte sagen. Aber die Teller war voll und in der Regel am Ende leer :-)

Der Laden ist völlig unterbewertet: das Essen ist regional und authentisch. Das Ambiente ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, okey. Aber ich fand es gemütlich. Wir waren 4 Personen, jeder war mit dem Bestellten geschmacklich und portionstechnisch zufrieden. Ich komme wieder. Bedienungen sind Profis, Toiletten sauber!
