The staff is not particularly friendly or attentive. They prefer beautiful single girls and Germans anyway. If they give you a seat outside in the shade the view is very beautiful and worth it.

Dinner while admiring the magnificent city from above. It's a shame that parking is very limited; we had to park downstairs in the parking lot: Parkhaus Karlsbau

The scenery and atmosphere are very beautiful. Sitting in the outdoor area, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the entire Freiburg. The service staff are also very warm and thoughtful. If you have the opportunity, you must come and see it once.

Yes, very much! We celebrated my mother's 82nd birthday with 14 people. We were particularly pleased that, despite the uncertain weather, the tables were set for us both inside and outside. We opted for the bay window with its wonderful view. The service was excellent, and all our special requests were fulfilled. We would happily recommend the Schlossberg Restaurant Dattler.

We stopped by for lunch after hearing some good things, and overall, it was a pleasant enough experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was cosy. I tried a few of the soups, they were definitely the highlight for me. Each had a distinct flavour and the seasoning was spot on. The lentil soup, in particular, was lovely warm and comforting. That said, I wasn’t completely blown away by the rest of the meal. The mains lacked a bit of depth and could’ve done with more creativity. It felt a little on the safe side🤝 Still, the service was great and the team did their best to make us feel at home. I might come back for a bowl of soup and a quiet afternoon, but I’d probably try somewhere else for something more memorable. Thanks.

We celebrated our wedding with 75 people in the banquet hall. Everything was perfectly organized, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. The recommended DJ from Dattler also did a fantastic job and got everyone dancing. All of our guests gave us nothing but positive feedback. You're doing a fantastic job! Keep it up!

We hadden zin in onze eerste asperges van dit jaar en hebben er bij Dattler van genoten. Met gekookte kriel, botersaus, hollandaisesaus en ham. En een heerlijke witte wijn erbij. Restaurant ligt op de berg ( je kunt het kabelbaantje nemen) en gezeten aan het raam heb je een fraai uitzicht.

Die Lage oberhalb der Stadt macht das Restaurant etwas schwer erreichbar, wenn man. nicht den Lift von der Stadt dort hoch benutzen möchte. Das Essen ist vorzüglich und namentlich das Weinangebot(im wesentlichen regional) gut. Die einzige kleine Einschränkung ist - jedenfalls wenn es voll ist - die Lautstärke, die das Reden am eigenen Tisch etwas erschwert. Da kann die Wahl eines Tisch am Rand womöglich etwas helfen. Der Spargel ist eine Empfehlung, die Preise sind dem Anspruch des Hauses angemessen.

I only enjoyed a Black Forest cake with coffee but it was very, very tasty. The ambience is rather upscale and so are the prices. Very nice view over the city of Freiburg. The service is courteous and very friendly. Will be going for dinner soon.

We didn't arrive until 1:45 p.m. A little late for lunch. No problem, the lunch menu was still available. Everyone took (a different) lunch menu for between €44 - €54. 3 courses. We all had the same starter (parsley root soup) and the same dessert (panna cotta and apricot ragout). The food was very good. You could taste and see that fresh ingredients were used. The staff took great care of us! The view alone is stunning, and then such delicious food! We felt spoiled and we're happy to spend the money on it. There are also (only) homemade cakes and tarts here. We also ordered a piece of Black Forest cake and what can I say: that's exactly how it has to be!

There is not much variety of food, we tried the desserts but they are not very high level. But the view and the walking area around it are magnificent.

Rundum gelungen. Mit 16 Personen im Schlossbergrestauraunt - J. Dattler kam selbst vorbei! -verwöhnt, war supii. Die Oxtail mit sherry, das flufffige Hechtklösschen, der Zander un der Hirsch im Wirsingmantel, dazu die Saucen, wie gewohnt sehr fein. Grauer Burgunder von Frh. v. Gleichenstein. Das Schlossbergbömble am Schluss. Perfekt.

Excellent address with magnificent view of Freiburg. Impeccable service, succulent dishes and delicious desserts (special mention for the Black Forest served in its traditional version, a pure treat). Certainly one of the best addresses in the city!

Dattler ist eines der wenigen Restaurants, die ich kenne, die eine so gleichbleibende Qualität an Speisen, Getränken und Service über Jahre bietet. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt ebenfalls. Die Küche zeichnet sich aus durch eine feine, traditionelle, jahreszeitlich abgestimmte Kochkunst ohne Schnörkel, dafür Bodenständig und köstlich. Auch Sonderwünsche, die nicht auf der Karte stehen, sind kein Problem. Das Service Team ist international, dafür aber auch von einer selten erfahrenen Höflichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit. Wenn dann auch noch die Sonne scheint u. die Aussicht auf die Stadt und die Rheinebene einem zu Füßen liegt ist der Himmel ganz nah.

It's been a while since we've been to the Dattler for coffee again and it was simply a reward after the walk. A bit expensive, but a fantastic table by the window, super delicious cake, everything clean and tidy. On top of that, an incredibly friendly, friendly and helpful service staff. Thanks!

My favorite restaurant, delicious! The steak is very good, tender and juicy and paired with their special black pepper sauce. The Viennese pork chop is just the right amount of fat and lean, very crispy and satisfying when you bite into it!

Wir hatten an einem Samstagabend ein sehr leckeres und reichhaltiges 4-Gänge Menü mit begleiteten Weinen im „Blauen Saal des Schlosses“ genossen. Sehr freundliche Bedienung, zeitnaher erstklassiger Service und eine flexible Menükarte. Als Vorspeise gab es Ceviche vom Wildlachs, danach ein schaumiges Fischsüppchen, als Hauptgang rosa gebratenen Lamrücken und als Nachtisch ein gelungenes Trio (Topfenmousse im Glas, Himbeersorbet und Mangoragout). Das Menü war sehr gut und wurde für 79,- EUR , die begleiteten Weine mit Getränkepaket (Mineralwasser und Espresso) für 29,- EUR angeboten. EinTop Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis.

Bombastic restaurant. The menu was really tasty and the view over Freiburg in the evening is unbeatable. A little tip for dessert: "glue" the glasses onto the plate with marzipan. Then it's easier to use because it doesn't slip around and people who know the trick have a little treat.😉

Wir hatten eine Geburtstagsfeier mit ca. 100 Gästen im Bankettsaal Freiburg. Unsere Gäste und wir waren vom Empfang auf der Terrasse mit der fantastischen Aussicht über die Stadt, vom feierlichen Ambiente des Saals, vom sehr guten Essen und dem ausgesprochen freundlichen, kompetenten und aufmerksamen Servicepersonal begeistert und haben uns durchweg wohl gefühlt. Die Planung vorab durch Frau König war sehr professionell. Frau König war immer ansprechbar und nahm sich ausreichend Zeit für uns. Der Leiter des Serviceteams Herr Klausmann war sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und hatte alles im Blick. Beim Essen wurde auch Rücksicht auf Allergien genommen, die Portionen waren ausreichend groß und ein Nachschlag war möglich. Insgesamt eine rundum hervorragend ausgerichtete Feier.

Für unsere Hochzeitsfeier in kleinem Rahmen, waren wir im Oktober 2024 im Restaurant Dattler. Von der Planung bis zum eigentlichen Tag, von Kaffee und Kuchen bis zum 4 Gang Abendmenü, war einfach alles phantastisch! Ein super Service und tolle Inhaber. Alle stets freundlich und hilfsbereit! Für uns war alles perfekt!

Very expensive, but you get excellent food and service. The staff behaves according to the ambience, but knows how to adapt to the customer and is therefore by no means too stiff or "repetitive". The view is wonderful, as is the general atmosphere.

El Dattler Schlossbergrestaurant es realmente especial para mí y mi esposa. Tuvimos nuestra primera cita aquí y el año pasado tuvimos nuestra recepción de boda en el restaurante. A todos nuestros huéspedes les encantó la vista (el restaurante tiene una vista fantástica desde la montaña Schlossberg a la ciudad de Friburgo). El restaurante en sí es elegante, el personal amable y profesional y nos encantó la comida. Uno de los miembros de nuestra familia comentó que fue la mejor recepción de bodas en la que había estado. Visitamos unos meses después de nuestra boda y uno de los miembros del personal nos reconoció. También compartiré algunas fotos del lugar. Hemos reservado una mesa para celebrar nuestro 1 aniversario de bodas en la calle aquí.

A culinary experience in a class of its own with the best view :) As soon as you enter you are greeted by a stylish atmosphere and courteous service. Every dish was a delight - from the starter to the dessert, everything was perfectly coordinated and prepared with great attention to detail. Particularly noteworthy are the fresh, high-quality ingredients and the creative interpretations of the dishes. The wine selection is good and complements the food perfectly. Beautiful panoramic views of the city. If you want to enjoy this with a great meal and good drinks, you should or have to dig a little deeper into your wallet.

Great ambience, very good service

The finest food, but it also costs a lot. That's why it bothered me that my soup and salad came at the same time and wasn't coordinated with the people sitting next to me. Complaining at a high level. You have a nice view in the restaurant, even from the second row. And you can go for a walk on the Schlossberg anyway. Taking the Schloßbergbahn up and down is also a small experience and doesn't cost much. The train runs at the push of a button (do it yourself) until the restaurant closes. I would come again.

The food was okay, definitely not as good as you would expect given the relatively high prices. Service was underwhelming and seemed to be in a rush, taking away plates while we were still eating. The view is really nice and the only nice thing to expect here. The interior was outdated.

One of the best restaurants in Freiburg! Generations over generations have celebrated from baptism, to birthdays and weddings! We love the Flädlesuppe and the Rahmtöpfle. Best sauces you can get!

After I was able to celebrate a wedding here as a witness, we also celebrated our own wedding and our daughter's baptism here. This view combined with the excellent food remains absolutely unbeatable for us. And there is also the courteous and extremely friendly service. A big thank you goes to Mr. Klausmann! It felt like no glass was ever more than half empty and no special request was left unconsidered (Cheers T.!). Planning in advance was also easy thanks to Ms. König's wealth of experience and professional tips. A big thank you goes to the whole team for our unforgettable day. (Now I have to be careful, otherwise the review will be considered purchased during these times. Hence a negative point: I had a double helping due to the fine dining and thus problems with the zipper of my dress - but nothing that a good safety pin couldn't hold).

Diese Aussicht in Verbindung mit dem sehr guten Essen bleibt für uns absolut unschlagbar. Und dazu kommt noch der zuvorkommende und ausgesprochen freundliche Service. Ein großes Danke geht an Herrn Klausmann! Gefühlt war kein Glas jemals mehr als halbleer und kein Sonderwunsch blieb unberücksichtigt (Cheers T.!). Auch die Planung vorab war dank viel Erfahrung und professioneller Tipps seitens Frau König ein Leichtes. Ein herzliches Dankeschön gilt dem ganzen Team für unseren unvergesslichen Tag. (Jetzt muss ich aufpassen, sonst gilt die Bewertung in diesen Zeiten als gekauft. Daher ein Negativpunkt: Ich hatte auf Grund des feinen Essens einen doppelten Nachschlag und damit Probleme mit dem Reißverschluss meines Kleides - aber nichts, das eine gute Sicherheitsnadel nicht hätte halten können).

Das Grill-Event beim Dattler Schlossbergrestaurant - Wie immer SUPER! Wie schon im letzten Jahr war das Grill-Event wieder ein Gaumenschmaus. Meiner Meinung nach, wurde das TOP-Niveau von 2023 nochmals übertroffen! Ich möchte mich herzlich beim gesamtem Team, was immer sehr freundlichen und zuvorkommend ist, bedanken!! Wir planen diese Veranstaltung für 2025 wieder ein, dann aber noch mit mehr Freunden!!

It has fabulous views (surprisingly, better from inside than from the terrace) but the staff, with some exceptions, is very haughty and arrogant and the process of being able to sit at a table is tedious and unpleasant, even at off-peak hours when you just want have a coffee....

Incredible view over Freiburg including Münster. Food was very tasty but a bit too much for a menu. I recommend not eating bread. Kir Royale is highly recommended as entry 👌 the menu is also a good choice. Service uncomplicated and friendly. Make possible what is possible. We really enjoyed it and felt comfortable.
