Mooswaldbierstube in Freiburg im Breisgau

Wir gehen seit einiger Zeit 1x wö. In die Mooswaldb.stube.Das Essen schmeckt immer sehr gut.Auf besondere Wünsche wird immer eingegangen.Der Biergarten ist richtig schön und toll von Bäumen beschattet.Besonders freundlich finden wir auch die Bedienung.Wir genießen die Abende in diesem Lokal.

Liebe Wirtsleute, liebes Personal, eine Frage hätte ich: würdet ihr euch bei euch im Biergarten wohlfühlen und ggf. gerne wiederkommen? Wir fanden einen halb gefüllten Biergarten vor. Drinnen gab es keine Gäste. Es war drinnen noch der Theker. Draußen waren es zwei Servicekräfte und es lief einfach nichts. An annähernd jedem Tisch gab es Beschwerden. Die ersten Getränke kamen sehr schleppend. Als das Essen da war, gab es immer noch kein Besteck. Dann kam der Besteckhumpen, der für uns 4 Personen nicht ausreichend Besteck hatte. Das habe ich schließlich selbst am Servicetisch geholt. Das Essen für war okay, aber mehr nicht. Dafür fanden wir den Preis recht hoch. Eine zweite Runde Getränke musste 4 x geordert werden. Die beiden Servicekräfte liefen ständig mit leeren Händen raus und vor allem wieder rein. Auf den Tischen stapelten sich Flaschen, Gläser, Teller. Unsere Teller etc. habe ich eine Viertelstunde nachdem wir gegessen hatten, selbst auf einen freien, ebenfalls mit Schmutzgeschirr belegten Tisch gestellt, wo alles nochmal mindestens eine halbe Stunde gestanden hat, bevor es abgeräumt wurde. Ich frage mich, warum in dieser Wirtschaft außer dem Theker keiner die Regel beherrscht, dass eine Servicekraft nie leer läuft. Am Ende waren noch 5 Tische besetzt und dennoch war Chaos mit den beiden Servicekräften. So macht Essen gehen keinen Spaß.

Da dachte ich mir: "Ach, ich geh das Spiel doch auch gern unter Leuten gucken. Ist ja bestimmt nett auf der Leinwand mit Leuten zu schauen". Pustekuchen! Die Servicekraft fragte ob noch jemand dazu käme, was ich verneinte. Plötzlich waren alle Tische reserviert. An einem Tisch mit freien Plätzen "kommen noch welche" (was nicht geschah).."die Bierbank geht allein leider auch nicht. Da könnte ja noch eine Gruppe kommen" Am hinterlegten Tisch wurde ich dann geduldet... Zu guterletzt schaut mich die Servicekraft auch noch abwertend an als ich für den "nicht erbrachten Service", ausser der Lieferung eines Kaltgetränkes, kein Trinkgeld geben möchte. Er hatte noch nicht einmal das,Geld um mir korrekt rauszugeben.so hat er sich das Trinkgeld erschlichen. Sorry, aber die Gasthaus Mooswaldbierstube sollte man wenn man alleine FussballWM schauen will meiden. Da gibt es in Freiburg wirklich "nettere" Locations. Hier komme ich definitiv nicht mehr hin und Empfehlungen gehen hier sich nicht raus. Dieser Laden ist zu meiden! 🤬

Ich war bereits zum zweiten Mal dort. Das Essen ist sehr gut und das Ambiente draußen im Biergarten schön. Zudem ist das Servicepersonal aufmerksam und freundlich.

Wir waren gestern zum Euroleague Finalspiel in der urigen Bierstube. Sehr schöner Biergarten. Wir saßen innen und es war sehr voll. Dementsprechend haperte es sehr an Organisation. Das Essen war so lala, der Preis hochpreisig ( ich hatte das badisch Dreierlei ). Am Schlimmsten war für mich, dass ein Kellner, dem kurz hintereinander zwei Gläser runterfielen, weil er Gegenverkehr hatte, eine lautstarke im Restaurant gut zu hörende Angestellte oder Chefin, ihn vor allen mit den Worten " Du schon wieder" niedermachte. So etwas ist ein absolutes no Go in einem vollen Gastraum. Für die gestrige Ausnahmesituation was Organisation anbelangt, habe ich sogar Verständnis, nicht aber für die Art, wie man mit dem Kellner umgegangen ist....

Nach meinem Besuch im Gasthaus Mooswaldbierstube möchte ich meine Eindrücke gerne teilen. Das Ambiente im großen Biergarten mit seinem alten Baumbestand hat mir ausgesprochen gut gefallen. Besonders positiv ist mir die aufmerksame Bedienung in Erinnerung geblieben, die uns sofort Sitzkissen anbot, was den Aufenthalt auf den Bierbänken gleich viel gemütlicher machte. Meine Speisenauswahl, der Schweinebraten, kam mit einer milden Biersoße, Rotkraut und Bandnudeln auf den Teller. Geschmacklich war das Essen gut, insgesamt aber sehr zurückhaltend gewürzt. Dazu passte die spritzige Johannisbeerschorle perfekt. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis empfand ich als normal und der Qualität des Essens sowie dem schönen Ambiente absolut angemessen. Das Gasthaus Mooswaldbierstube ist eine gute Wahl für alle, die in einem schönen Biergarten solide, badische Küche genießen möchten und Hundesindherzlichwillkommen. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Seit vielen Jahren ein leckeres, super Essen, nach Hause kommen in Freiburg! Wunderschöne Gartenwirtschaft! Tradition! Heimeliger Service und Albrecht Ganter ein perfekter herzlicher Gastgeber!!!! PS Mega tolle Salate❤️

Sehr schönes Lokal mit leckerem Essen. Der Biergarten ist im Sommer auchvsehr zu empfehlen. Man sitzt gemütlich unter Kastanien und genießt einfach.

Bin im Biergarten zum Abendessen gewesen. Sehr schöner Platz, top Servicepersonal, lecker und reichhaltiges Essen. Ich habe die Käsespätzle ohne Speck gegessen.

Wir haben an einem ruhigen Montagabend köstlich gegessen, das Personal war freundlich und das Essen war sehr gut!

Die Bärlauchspätzle waren sehr lecker. Leider war der Bürger nicht wirklich brauchbar. Dieser passt nicht zur Qualität des restlichen Essens. Personal war freundlich. Es gibt Kinderstühle. Bei gutem Wetter kann man gut draußen sitzen.

Portion ok aber geht auch mehr. Nette Bedienung. Biergarten Flair, oldscool Deutscher Biergarten. Ich finde gut dort.

Rollstuhltauglich und allgemein sehr zu empfehlen ! Als Rollstuhlfahrer schreckten mich zuerst die massigen Treppen am Haupteingang ab, aber nach kurzem Gespräch, wurde am Seiteneingang eine Rollstuhlrampe angelegt und für die Dauer des Besuchs stehen gelassen (auf Anfrage/Bedarf). Schnell, stabil und sogar mit Hilfe, wenn man es alleine nicht schafft. Eine große Gartenwirtschaft und sehr fleißigem Service ist hier für das leibliche Wohl bemüht. Im Frühling bis Herbst sehr angenehm. Es gibt zwei Nachteile: 1) Er liegt nahe der Straße (auch wenn die Abgase den Kunden nicht ereichen) 2) Der Kiesbelag kann Rollstuhlfahrer beeinträchtigen. Der Hygienebereich ist leicht zu erreichen und hat ausreichend breite Türen auch für E-Rollstühle. Spezielle abklappbare Griffstangen fehlen zwar, dennoch kann man leicht Umsetzen mit Haltepunkten. Bei meinem Besuchen waren beide Toiletten immer sauber und hatten sogar angenehmes Luftaroma. Der Gastraum ist in mehrere Bereiche unterteilt, wo auch für Events gebucht werden kann. Die Wege sind Rollstuhltauglich und der Service ist auch hier sehr bemüht (wir wurden immer von einem ziemlich großen jungen Mann bedient der sehr freundlich, professionell und schnell arbeitete = Top!) Das Essen war - egal was wir bisher bestellten - qualitativ hochwertig und ein Genuß. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist mehr wie ausgeglichen. Bei cirka 12-30 Euro Spreisspanne der Hauptmahlzeiten sind die Portionen sehr groß (Rest-Mitnahme möglich). Es werden selten chemische "Küchenhelfer" genutzt (habe das öfter beobachtet), weshalb das Essen eine hohe Qualität besitzt, wie beschrieben. Kleines Manko: Leider wurden auch unsere "Jägerschnitzel" nicht paniert. - Dafür gab es Handgeschabte frische Spatzen nach Badisch-Schwäbischem Rezept - super lecker. Nach sehr vielen Restaurantbesuchen in Freiburg und Umgebung habe ich dieses Restaurant als eines der TOP Geheimtipps in meine Liste aufgenommen. Guten Hunger T.R.

Wir waren am Sonntag zum ersten Mal dort essen und sind begeistert – wir kommen definitiv wieder 😊. Das Essen war sehr lecker und mehr als ausreichend. Der Service und die Betreiber sind mega lieb, freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt. Vielen Dank nochmal für das Blümchen und liebe Grüße an Samu 😜

Das Personal war superfreundlich, das Essen naja. Jägerschnitzel ist bei uns paniert, hier nicht. Die Spätzle waren kalt und recht geschmacklos. Wir würden dem Restaurant trotzdem noch mal eine Chance geben, alleine wegen des netten Personals.

Sehr leckeres Essen in einem gemütlichen Ambiente mit sehr freundlichem Service. Ich hatte ein Argentinienisches Steak mit Brägele und gebraten Zwiebeln, sehr lecker und preiswert! Wer in der Nähe ist sollte vorbei kommen und des Essen genießen!

Very friendly service and delicious food. We were a group guest, received very friendly service, the food arrived incredibly quickly, and everyone in the group was very happy with their selection. The ambiance is typical of a beer garden, but the interior is also rather rustic and simple, which is also fitting for a beer hall.

We went to the beer hall on October 5, 2025, to watch football. Unfortunately, all the radiators were cold, despite the outside temperature being 11 degrees Celsius. A complete no-go. All the guests (about 20) were wearing outdoor clothing. It was uncomfortable, and after only a few purchases, we left. We weren't in the mood for food in those temperatures. Well, the landlord is obviously cutting corners in the wrong place.

Super friendly staff, great food, fair prices. Not only we, but also our puppies were warmly welcomed. And everyone fell in love with the owners' black dog, what a great guy! I traveled all the way from the Frankfurt area, and it was lovely as always, and we'll be back.

A lovely, classic neighborhood restaurant with a lovely outdoor area. My initial doubts were quickly dispelled. The food was very good, and the service was very pleasant and attentive.

We went there for lunch on Sunday afternoon. A beautiful beer garden with large trees, and perfectly friendly staff. The service was excellent. We had a wonderful time, which we will definitely repeat. The value for money was also first-class. The food was incredibly delicious. We'll definitely be back. Thank you so much!

We've been here many times, but never before have we experienced anything like today. From a mealworm in our hot chocolate (which unfortunately wasn't hot and had far too little cocoa) to a mojito that consisted only of rum. A service that was completely overwhelmed (but always tried hard). Ultimately, we probably won't be coming back from now on, unfortunately.

We've known the Mooswaldbierstube for many, many years. The food is good, but overpriced. That's a real shame.

The food is unseasoned and very bland, the prices on the bill are higher than those on the menu, the service is unfriendly and very slow! Actually 0 stars

Friendly service. Nice beer garden. Lilet was mixed far too strongly and tasted absolutely nothing. It wasn't drunk! The fries tasted like they'd been fried in old oil. They weren't eaten! After we politely complained, we received a perplexed response. No professional approach whatsoever. We were part of a group where, unfortunately, other people were also dissatisfied with the food, especially the meat dishes, but didn't communicate it. Unfortunately, we'll choose differently next time. A real shame!

The food tastes amazing, and the staff is very attentive. The only thing that bothered me was that vegan dishes came with a €2.50 surcharge. I don't know how this surcharge is justified. The rest of the food was excellent.

Unfortunately, we had to wait a very, very long time for our drinks. The cordon bleu with fries was also only mediocre. I wouldn't order it again.

We celebrated a family celebration with 30 people here. Even the preliminary meeting/reservation process was efficient, uncomplicated, and very friendly. It started raining the day we arrived, and we were immediately moved indoors. The organization was excellent; all the dishes were highly recommended; my guests particularly appreciated the zander fillet. The excellent selection of desserts was also very well received. Many thanks to the team and the kitchen for their competent and attentive service. If anything was missing, someone was always available immediately. I therefore recommend this restaurant without reservation. We would be happy to return. We wish you much success and look forward to your next visit.

Hello dear team, we were there with 13 people, our family. It was very nice, the food was delicious. Ordering was a bit chaotic due to special orders, etc., but you guys did a great job. The waiters, in particular, livened up the atmosphere with their humor and witty remarks. Keep it up, it's really fun with you! The boss had a table set up outside for us later, which we enjoyed until midnight. Thanks for that. And also for the final drink from the boss 😉

From the outside, the restaurant looks very neat because the facade is freshly painted. The beer garden also looks good. However, once you walk in, the visual impression drops sharply: The dining room looked neglected and unkempt during our visit; our table was sticky, the menus (ring binders with handmade paper pages) were very worn, and some pages had come loose. The clientele was more suited to a McDonald's restaurant. I had originally wanted to eat a steak, but was hesitant given the run-down ambiance. Instead, I opted for something you can't go wrong with: cheese spaetzle with ham. They were very good, though – maybe a little salty. The waitress was friendly and attentive, but the man standing behind the counter, who occasionally brought us something, smelled strongly of cigarettes.

It wasn't exactly a hit. Unfortunately, the price/performance gap for what I ordered was a bit too wide for me.

Had a lovely meal in the garden restaurant, the cordon bleu was good and the fries were just as they should be.

We will be holding our wedding reception at the Mooswaldbierstube and are extremely satisfied with the selection, the advice, and the food, drinks, and service we've already enjoyed. We feel at home here – almost like family. Thank you so much, and see you at the latest when we say "I do."

Unfortunately, for those sitting outside, the service is a complete wasteland. It's unacceptable to sit for an hour with an empty glass and be ignored by the staff when it finally comes out. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time. And this despite several guests saying something. Sorry. But it's not possible.

Here, you can be sure that you'll always receive good service and food. The beer garden is great in the summer, and when the weather isn't so great, it's very cozy inside. We'd love to come back!

The beer garden is home to mature trees. You can sit comfortably underneath them. Unfortunately, the road that runs right in front of the entrance is a nuisance. The food was delicious.

Amazing food and great service from a Brazilian waiter that was patient with us and our order. Came back every few minutes to check on us and overall just a happy nice guy!

Let me put it this way. After a successful stadium tour, nine of us stopped in there – unannounced. The tables were pushed together in no time. The boss took the drinks, two were missing (blamed on a colleague), that's unacceptable! The colleague was shitting so loudly you could hear it outside, that's unacceptable! The food arrived, fries were missing – it can happen – the food was incredibly delicious and the portion was large – top-notch – the fries were a dream 😋. All in all, good German cuisine, top value 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 The boss should work on their service and how they treat colleagues. We'll be back 👍🏼

Very great restaurant with delicious, hearty cuisine. We were there with the whole family and had different dishes. From the Bürger to the onion roast to the Jägerschnitzel and Cordon Bleu, everything was delicious. The nice gentleman from the service was also very attentive and had a few nice sayings. We'd love to come back.

on the 4th of Advent 🎅 for lunch. Deer goulash 🦌 senior plate for 22€ in top quality! Lamb's lettuce 🥗 €10 in advance. Great cuisine 👨‍🍳, very attentive, friendly service and great owner family. For the SC game there is currywurst & fries 🍟 on the daily menu.

It was a great evening, there was a good meal at the karaoke event, good hospitality, the cellar was attentive and also asked if you needed something to drink. I can recommend it, I think it's great that the restaurants organize karaoke events.

Before the SC.Freiburg games, there was a great atmosphere in the beer garden and in the restaurant with friendly staff and home-style cuisine.

Good middle-class restaurant. The staff was a bit overwhelmed by the large company and couldn't keep up with the drinks. But staff was friendly. The portions are large and you will definitely feel full. The food really isn't bad, but I've eaten better.

We recently visited this restaurant for the first time. We've been meaning to do it for a while because we know one of the kitchen team members personally. Now we think it's a shame that we waited so long. The food (Jaegerschnitzen & Spätzle and sour Leberle with fried potatoes) was very, very tasty. The price/performance ratio is good and the portions are more than sufficient. We'll be back soon and with pleasure.

We were there to watch a football match as it was the first football match this season. It wasn't that crowded. The service staff always came to ask if everything was OK. The service was fine and the food was served quite quickly.

Not recommended after the sc game. Service is extremely overwhelmed and the food is catastrophic. Cold and taste not acceptable. Never again

We spent a very nice evening in the Mooswaldbierstube. The food was delicious and the service was very attentive and friendly. We'd love to come back!

Disappointing cuisine - not recommended I came to good cuisine based on the recommendations written here. Unfortunately I cannot confirm this at all. The Jägerschnitzel consisted of two very thick, barely seasoned, poorly fried (more boiled) and unbreaded slices of meat in a bland, indefinable sauce (this one with apparently fresh mushrooms). Basically, I think unbreaded Jägerschnitzel is definitely good, but then it has to be well fried (or breaded and well fried/fried, with sauce as a part). When it comes to gravy, any store-bought one tastes better, why not add some gravy to it to add flavor? And for €20 a side salad would have been quite appropriate... Service was nice, especially the young girl...

This is such a pleasant, friendly, relaxed place to eat and drink. Very warm welcome , great food, good service. Well worth a visit!

The Jägerschnitzel was far dry, the sauce was too runny and from a bag, the taste was completely missing, the supposedly homemade Spätzle tasted like Kaiserschmarn, frozen and fatty. I'm never going back here. After pointing out the bad food, which was eaten at most half, the full price was still charged. Absolutely no recommendation.

Beautifully furnished inn with a large beer garden under the trees. Due to a funeral service in the Fritz Hüttinger Hall, we used the Mooswaldbierstube catering service. From the beginning of contact to the end, we received wonderful advice and support from the Mooswaldbierstube team. On the day of the memorial service everything was beautifully arranged. The dishes were all very tasty and we only received positive feedback from the mourners. On behalf of my entire family and especially my father, we would like to thank the entire Mooswaldbierstube team. You helped ensure that we were able to experience some joy with our mourners on what was such a sad day for us

All tables are occupied in the meantime, but service is still quick and attentive!
