DongWu is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Düsseldorf. This is a restaurant dedicated to Szechuan cuisine. Szechuan promises spicy dishes! 
But Sichuan spicy has nothing to do with the spiciness of other countries (Mexico, Thailand or curry stalls). Sichuan sharpness is a revelation.
If you don't trust the spiciness, you should order the dishes without spiciness and ask to be allowed to season them yourself. If you really want to know and taste what flavor these wonderful soups bring, order them without spiciness and slowly approach the seasoning. The wonton dishes are an absolute highlight and if you really want to know, order number 102 “秘制钵钵水煮牛肉 Bowl Bowl Beef”, a truly gigantic portion with a level of spiciness of 3 🌶️🌶️🌶️. You can't do this portion alone. So take the rest home with you!
 The DongWu is a true pearl! If I'm sick or need strength, that's where I get it!

Update and correction (1) After a few stays in China, I know that you can't expect too much service or friendliness from a snack bar like this. Sometimes I had to pack my leftover food into the to-go box myself or I was moved to a single seat during the meal when the store was only half full. I also don't like the fact that I can only pay with an EC card if I spend more than 50 euros. (2) But the food is TOP. I've eaten there three times now and the friendliness is good (maybe we had a bad day the first time) and the food is always great. And that is the most important thing. That's why I changed my rating and will be back.

We really enjoy eating authentic Chinese cuisine. Kudos to the whole team. The western group at the next table was very loud. We could easily change our table when one became available. We'd love to come back

The Chinese restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with oriental accents, the dishes delight with intense flavors, and the staff is attentive and courteous. As in the flower shop Scarlet Flowers, a pleasant atmosphere surrounds you here, and the employees friendly help with the selection, which makes the visit particularly pleasant.

Very very tasty food. I had rice noodle rolls as a starter, sweet and sour duck as a main course and the baked banana as dessert. Everything was outstanding, I think the best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. The service was also really nice and the atmosphere was nice. I actually rarely write reviews but I was really impressed with this one. Highly recommended!

The food at Ziyuefang is delicious and the prices are reasonable. It is also considered an old Ivy store and has a good reputation. The store is small, so remember to ask in advance if there are seats. Also, it’s okay to take a bus. I can’t say it’s convenient. There are many public transportation options at the door.

Simple and typical interieur. Service was not really friendly. But food was really good except for pakchoi which was too soggy and boring.

Es gibt hier wirklich authentische chinesische Küche, die auch sehr scharf sein kann, aber es wird auch entsprechend kommuniziert. Wir hatten Spitzkohl mit Chili und den Chilitopf mit Spicy Hühnerstücken. Beide Gerichte haben gut geschmeckt. Im Restaurant essen augenscheinlich auch sehr viele Chinesen, die Gerichte sahen allesamt sehr interessant aus. Ein erheblicher Mangel ist die Art und Weise der Abrechnung. Letztendlich stellte sich heraus, dass es hier drei verschiedene Preise für Gerichte gibt. Auf der am Tisch gescannten Speisekarte war ein mittlerer Preis, in der auf Nachfrage an den Tisch gebrachten ausgedruckten Speisekarte der niedrigste Preis und schlussendlich auf der Rechnung war der Preis am höchsten. Das ist ausgesprochen ärgerlich und lässt das Gefühl zurück, das hier die Abrechnung im absoluten Belieben des Chefs steht. Daher die Abzüge bei der Bewertung. Schade, bei dieser sehr guten authentischen Küche zahlt man auch gerne für die Gerichte, aber die Preise sollten schon feststehen, wenn man bestellt. Also guten Appetit, aber schaut von Beginn auf die Preise und lasst sie Euch bestätigen.

Es hat leider in der Qualität einiges nachgelassen. Schade.
