The noodles are average, the handwriting is average, and the toilet floor is so oily that I almost slipped.

Very good Chinese snack. I was in the first restaurant on Kaiserstrasse years ago and had forgotten how good the dishes were. The soups are very rich and the level of spiciness can be varied as desired (if you like, you can eat very spicy here!). We also had fried pork belly (in breading) and sour-spicy potato strips.

We came across DongWu by chance and would love to come back! Very tasty dishes at a fair price, the staff is friendly, the restaurant including the toilets is very clean. What more could you want? ;)

DongWu is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Düsseldorf. This is a restaurant dedicated to Szechuan cuisine. Szechuan promises spicy dishes! 
But Sichuan spicy has nothing to do with the spiciness of other countries (Mexico, Thailand or curry stalls). Sichuan sharpness is a revelation.
If you don't trust the spiciness, you should order the dishes without spiciness and ask to be allowed to season them yourself. If you really want to know and taste what flavor these wonderful soups bring, order them without spiciness and slowly approach the seasoning. The wonton dishes are an absolute highlight and if you really want to know, order number 102 “秘制钵钵水煮牛肉 Bowl Bowl Beef”, a truly gigantic portion with a level of spiciness of 3 🌶️🌶️🌶️. You can't do this portion alone. So take the rest home with you!
 The DongWu is a true pearl! If I'm sick or need strength, that's where I get it!

Food was nice but service was poor. My order was forgotten and it seemed to be i am not the only one. Several tables have their order forgotten during that shift. I asked if my order is still in processing then they started making my food. In total i had to wait for 40mim for simple noodle soup. Already ruined my mood but started eating. After 10min, staff approach me and say they are closing but i have 5more minute to eat… At this point i was so mad and completely killed my appetite. Food was nice but service was so poor enough to make me ignore that fact. Also when we entered the restaurant, the staff approached me and speaking Chinese. I am not Chinese and do not speak Chinese. This happens so often in asian restaurants. Chinese staffs working at asian restaurants should know that not all asian looking people are Chinese.

Premade noodles are not recommended. Low value for money and expensive drinks. Pay attention to hygiene.

Taste and authenticity tastes ambience! If you are looking for authentic Szechuan cuisine, you should stop here. Insanely delicious food. Not necessarily many vegan options, but they are there. Warning: The food is very spicy. Be careful. If you see 3 chillies, then we're not talking about German standards here!

The sushi and the starters are really tasty but misu soup was just subpar, had hardly any taste and the pork was more of a shoe sole.

The food is authentic Chinese. You especially feel it when you order something spicy. They take that seriously. Wouldn't recommend going above "two chili's" as a spice level. The food is amazing and the prices are so worth it. The service is nice they take a lot of time to advise you if you have questions :)

Shushi was not tasty, neither was the service good. It is quite cheap, but we were over charged for one dish and an extra drink.

If you like good spicy flavours, this is a must try. First time so took the medium level, noodles were good and the soup very flavourful. I look forward to another dish here again.

Will probably be one of my go to restaurants! Super tasty food - we tried a number of soups. All of them tasted amazing. The dessert was totally strange but somehow cool too :D We had a very interesting conversation with Sebastian and the other staff were very nice

Simply 10/10. Super authentic cuisine and not European at all. Very strong taste and the noodles were homemade too. We will definitely come more often.

On the advice of the very courteous employee, we decided on spiciness level 2, even though we often eat spicy food and by that I don't mean spicy food in German restaurants. It was a good decision... The sharpness was perfect for us. A small outbreak of sweat, a tingling sensation in the mouth and an exhilarating feeling that spreads to the whole body. The Ma pao dou fu was super delicious!! We talked to the service about the menu and received some good tips for our next visit. The trip from Cologne was worth it. Yummy!

I went to a store that I often went to last year, but I didn’t go back for more than half a year after eating it and causing hair loss. For the same dish, the quantity is much smaller now than last year.

I ordered a bowl of noodles for 13.2 euros. There are a few pickles, a green vegetable, and a few chopstick noodles inside. As for the taste? I think any Chinese woman over 30 years old can make it.

Delicious spicy szechuan kitchen with a great selection of tasty treats. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. No need to make a reservation in this hidden gem.

I was in the restaurant for the first time today. I ordered a noodle soup with 100% spiciness and fried sardines. Both were very good. You should REALLY take the hotness thing seriously. Just right for me (I only know two restaurants that have more spiciness), but certainly not for everyone. But you can choose the level of spiciness. If you are only used to the pseudo-Chinese “glutamate temple” for German tastes, you should order this without the spiciness. I've never been to China, but when you're there, you really appreciate 5,000 years of culinary tradition. Ordering from one of the servers was a bit difficult due to her lack of knowledge of German, but it went well in English. Your colleague speaks German perfectly, well on average. Both very polite. The price is rather high, but nothing that stands out negatively on Oststrasse/Immermannstrasse. The price is justified considering the environment and quality. Repeat very safely.

Authentic and incredibly delicious Chinese cuisine. As a real insider tip for Immermannstrasse and the surrounding area, this fine restaurant, alongside many overcrowded and absolutely mediocre restaurants, unfortunately misses out on many Düsseldorf residents and visitors. You don't rip off guests with inferior ingredients just because they don't know the original taste. The fact that the restaurant is always busy with Chinese people speaks volumes. Absolutely recommended!!

The dish that was not cooked at all was said to be cooked. We don’t lack the money for this dish, but the business is so bad. I am really speechless...the attitude is also very bad. When asked for a tissue, I said you can go to the bar to get it...the taste is average.

I am a regular customer. I often bring my friends here to try the real taste of China. Most of my friends are very satisfied and have become regular customers. Tastes great! Generous portion! Affordable! The service attitude is great! The location is also very central! What more bikes do you want!

The taste is okay but the portion is small and the price is not low The girl even added noodles once and was still not full. Drink Coke because you are full of gas.

Mega delicious, and clearly made with quality ingredients

My former girlfriend was Chinese and took me there for the authentic Chinese food. The food was super delicious! Level of spiciness 2-3 is good (we're both good at spiciness, but be careful about what level you order). The staff was also very friendly and attentive. Prices are fair within the scope of what you normally pay everywhere these days. Since then, I have always recommended it to friends and acquaintances and have always received happy feedback!

I do not often give 5 stars but this restaurant fully deserves it. Very authentic and tasty food. I can recommend it to anybody visiting Düsseldorf.

If you are in Düsseldorf, make sure to go here! No matter if you like it spicy (like, REALLY spicy) or not, they have something for everyone, and boy, is their food delicious! I can’t stop thinking about it. I would recommend to order a couple of dishes and share them, because you really should not miss out on any of them! The service itself is okay - not overly friendly, not rude, so nothing to complain about.

Delicious. And spicy without discussions. We haggle over every Scoville. You won't find Szechuan pepper. Drive 60km (one way) to enjoy the food. Thanks to the team. Xie Xie ni Was there again on April 3rd, 2024. Food very tasty as always. There are now also beer with revolutions 😉 I'll definitely be back. Sharpness 100% in combination with hua jiao is perfect. Many thanks to the team I love the food mala, but except in Essen (where there is a restaurant that serves Mapo Tofu and La Zi Ji) it looks bad

The food here is truly amazing! Authentic Chinese Cuisine with a lot of variety and fairly priced. The spicy beef noodles were 10/10. tender meat, chewy noodles and spicy broth are the perfect combination! I will definitely be back again!

We haven't eaten such good MaPoDoufu in a long time...the spices are just amazing and if you need it, you can have the western version for more spiciness.

Wow! Admittedly, I had never tried this type of cuisine from China. Just sheer madness! Not for people who can't tolerate spicy food! The Dan Dan Mian are an absolute must!

It was probably the yummiest, the best the most authentic Chinese (Shichuan) Foods i‘ve ever tasted here in Germany😭 I was so in love with every dishes i‘ve tried here, like i barely eat my whole plates, but here i finished literally everything! I had the spicy dumpling soup (9.5/10) the sauce, the dumplings, everything was amazing. And then jelly ear (9/10) it was also lovely, made it simple but very nice. And the cold cucumber chicken salad (9,2/10) again i‘m loving it! Overall i could give 9,5/10 to this place, the place isn‘t that big but it makes it even better and cozier, the kitchen is open so you can see them cooking your foods. I definitely recommend and will come back anytime!

February 8th, 2024 at around 2:30 p.m. 0/5 stars. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the food and also the service. We only read good things on the internet and that's why we came to the restaurant with great pleasure. Unfortunately the food wasn't tasty at all. The noodle soup and the rest of the food were littered with oil and spices that were not processed well. It was really, really hard to enjoy. We also ordered chicken feet, which were served to us raw and cold and were more than inedible. Normally these are served warm, which was not the case in this case. We therefore hardly touched them and reported this to the waitress immediately. But she was very indifferent and refused to take it off the bill. Which I personally find to be very customer-unfriendly. I am really deeply disappointed and cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. You get rid of your money, but in the end you are unhappy and have done nothing good for yourself. Absolutely not recommended.

officially the best noodle in town. very spicy, 40-60% level was enough for me. Spicier than that would have not been enjoyable. Would love to have more soupless noodle options!

The food is very good and well served, the waiters are extremely nice and open to help you in choosing the best dish. They also do not rush in sending you out to free the table for the next round. Super recommended!

Die Nudeln sind selbstgemacht und wirklich gut. Scharf ist hier wirklich scharf, es wird aber zur Sicherheit auch noch mal nachgefragt.

essen top und wirklich authentisch, auch ist alles sehr sauber! den einzigen punktabzug gibts bei dem service/der beratung hinsichtlich der "schärfe".. bei uns deutschen bitte etwas mehr drauf hinweisen, dass die schärfe bei euch anders ist :)

Tolle Nudelsuppen, man kann den Schärfegrad wählen und die Nudeldicke. Service sehr freundlich!

Leckeres Essen, der Srrvuce fragte uns auch ob wir das wirklich authentisch scharf essen möchten. Das Gericht ist auch wahrscheinlich das schärfste was Sie auf der Karte zu bieten haben. Lecker war es dennoch! Mir hat es gut gefallen das der Sichuan einen leichten Grapefruit Geschmack hatte! ✌️

Wir waren gestern das erste mal da, und sind begeistert. Das Essen war unglaublich lecker, wir konnten uns erstmal nicht entscheiden was wir nehmen. Der Geschmack ist intensiv, aber nicht überfordernd. Das Essen sättigt sehr gut, aber liegt sehr leicht im Magen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall nochmal wieder, und probieren uns durch alles durch! 😍 Der Service ist sehr freundlich. Wir haben einen uns unbekannten Saft probiert, und das Personal hat uns freundlicherweise erklärt wobei es sich handelt. Unsere Tischnachbarn hatten auch fragen, und das Personal hat erneut ganz geduldig erklärt und beraten. Alles sehr sauber und Tische werden gründlich gereinigt - ist mir sehr wichtig! Man kann mit Karte zahlen 👍🏻 Wir kommen wieder, danke für das leckere Essen und das schöne Erlebnis!

Authentisches chinesisches Restaurant. Einfach und gemütlich eingerichtet. Entspannte Musik und guter Service. Karte ist übersichtlich und abwechslungsreich. Essen ist sehr lecker. Achtung bei der Schärfe vom Essen. Wirklich sehr scharfes Essen🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ Je nachdem bitte vorher ansprechen und je nachdem lieber weniger und nachschärfen. Ansonsten eine Empfehlung von mir!
