As a double-cooked pork hunter, I was always hoping for the slightly sweet and spicy Japanese version of double-cooked pork with cabbage, but this was authentic Chinese double-cooked pork. I asked for it to be just a little spicy, but it was full-bodied and delicious. The flavor was average. The pork was a little overcooked and some parts were as crispy as bacon, so I used flying fish. You'll sweat profusely, so I recommend bringing a handkerchief and tissues. If you have a normal stomach, you probably wouldn't be able to finish it all. For dessert, I thought I'd ordered almond tofu, but I got regular silken tofu with a slightly sweet brown sugar drizzle. It was incredibly delicious. It had a gentle flavor that soothed my stomach after eating something spicy.

We came for lunch at noon, and we were the only table there. The cold dishes were delicious, and I recommend the garlic pork and Bobo chicken. The radish and beef brisket were terrible! The radish was sour and hard to swallow, and everyone who tried it couldn't handle it! We reported this to the waiter, who said the kitchen had tasted it and found nothing wrong. They added lemon juice to the radish during cooking, as autumn radishes are too old, so they used it to soften the radish. We said the taste was unacceptable to any diner, and the waiter offered to exchange the radish, but not the beef brisket? We said, "No need to exchange. The service is so poor, and the plate is chipped. Avoid!"

Already the third time that I came here to eat, and everytime the food has been soooo amazing. Real Chinese food and great service. I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner or even an afternoon snack. A lot of choice, spicy or non-spicy and vegetarian options. I always look forward to eat here when visiting Düsseldorf.

Dishes are more on the numbing side, recommend Ganliu bowl mixed noodles and fish-flavored eggplant, spicy beef is also good

The price-performance ratio is very low. The dandan noodles taste good, but the portion is very small. I don’t recommend ordering wontons, 6 pieces for about 8 yuan.

Excellent and, above all, authentic Chinese food. Pure flavor, superb noodle soup. Spicy and delicious. I love coming here during my lunch break. Be careful, the spicy food here is very spicy. If you're expecting the number 8 with sweet and sour chicken, you're in the wrong place.

A hidden gem, even if it's not quite that hidden. The restaurant is on Oststraße, which is usually busy, but unfortunately not so much in the shop, which is a shame. The food is super authentic, Chongqing noodles and other dishes, and tastes very good. The noodles are chewy, springy, and perfect. The only thing is that the portion is unfortunately a bit small for the price. I've been here several times and tried different noodles each time. The classic, Chongqing xiao mian, is authentic and delicious, albeit very spicy. You can have it less spicy, but even at 30% I almost died. My favorite is Wanza mian (noodles with bean sauce). It sounds strange but tastes delicious. I tried it for the first time in Chengdu and have to say, here in Düsseldorf, I could hardly taste the difference. Just as delicious. The Yi Bin Ran Mian wasn't really my thing; it was very spicy (even with a little spice) and just tasted spicy. The other dishes, such as pickled morels and bang bang ji (chicken) kou shui ji (chicken), were also delicious and not as spicy as the main courses. The shop is also large for its size, and the service is very friendly. If you like spicy and authentic noodles, this is the place for you.

Chongqing people have certified that this red oil shop is of good quality in Chongqing. I didn't think of taking a photo until after I finished eating. Fortunately, I took a photo of the braised beef brisket before eating. It was cooked with radish and was of a good quality. The beef was soft and tender, the radish was just right, and the seasoning was normal and not too salty. It's a pity that the noodles can't be made into rice noodles/rice noodles. It's a pity that my wife is gluten intolerant, but the rice is delicious.

Here you can enjoy spicy specialties from Kunming in an authentic ambience. The kitchen is quick and the service is very friendly. Chinese is also spoken.

One of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to so far. Spontaneously got a seat on Valentine's Day, the staff was friendly, the food was prepared quickly and was incredibly tasty. I was particularly pleasantly surprised by the fried pork. The price is also totally right in my opinion. (visited on February 14, 2025)

Almost all dishes here contain Sichuan pepper. The spicy noodle soup was good, chewy noodles and beef tender. But you have to be a fan of Sichuan Pepper to like it. Service is friendly. Unfortunately, toilets aren't that great.

The noodles were really great – thick, al dente and packed with minced meat and creamy chickpeas. The spiciness was just right, simply delicious! I also tried the “bing dou hua” for dessert. The consistency was a little different than I expected, maybe it could be a little smoother. But overall a really great experience, great service - I'll definitely be back! :)

Absolutely great food, interesting Sichuan cuisine. Beef is unfortunately tough, chicken and co co tofu are highly recommended. Unfortunately, not all dishes can be found online, but only on the attached menu on site. Conflicting information on Google Maps and the website as to whether it opens on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. or 12 p.m. Unfortunately payment with Amex is not possible.

Sichuan cuisine as it should be. All pasta dishes are authentic and fantastic. Attention - don't overestimate the level of spiciness for German tastes. 30% is completely sufficient.

My favorite authentic Chinese restaurant in Düsseldorf. Not to be compared with the fress temples of westernized Chinese cuisine. Especially if you like it spicy (but be careful! :-)), you've come to the right place.

Dumplings in chilli oil soup were good. Broth can be made a little less oily if possible. It's definitely tasty, though!!

Simply good, tasty Sichuan-style food that is prepared quickly and arrives hot on the table! The cramped seating situation with the dividing glasses doesn't stop me from giving it 5 stars overall, but it does give a slight negative in terms of ambience.

You can select the level of spiciness here. For us, 1 chili corresponds to “spicy” so it’s not too hot. You can slowly work your way up😅 but highly recommended and something different between all the ramen and sushi shops😉🌶️🌶️🌶️

Original Chongqing Chinese food. I always go there if I don't have something special wants to eat. The food is taste, the potion is big enough, the stuffs are nice, and the price are very fair, place is clean and located in the downtown. Sooooooo 5 stars for sure 😊

Be informed that most likely you'll need to wait for a available table as it's pretty busy. Overall very good place, recommend for 100%. We're there by chance and will be again if visit Düsseldorf.

The menu that is in English does not have all the dishes. The spiciness level is very high even if you order the lowest. The taste is nothing special. The service is very rushed, I hadn't finished my drink yet and they had already sent someone else to sit at my table.

The restaurant was bigger than expected, so it didn't take long to get a seat without a reservation on a weekend. We ordered two main dishes and a side dish. The side dish came very quickly. The first main dish arrived quickly as well, but the second came much later. Therefore, the first main dish was already cold. Except for that, the food was delicious, and it is nice that it is possible to adjust the spice level. The flavours were very complex, so all in all, a good place to eat.

Had a great dinner here. The noodle soup as well as the starter were great. A good place to eat szechuan food in town.

As a Sichuanese, our family comes to Soochow at least twice a month. It’s really authentic (don’t compare it to the ones in Chengdu and Chongqing, as conditions are limited after all) and it’s spicy enough. Our family’s favorites are red oil noodles, beef noodles, Yibin noodles, and Bangbang chicken. It’s really not the best. Step on thunder

Very good Chinese snack. I was in the first restaurant on Kaiserstrasse years ago and had forgotten how good the dishes were. The soups are very rich and the level of spiciness can be varied as desired (if you like, you can eat very spicy here!). We also had fried pork belly (in breading) and sour-spicy potato strips.

We came across DongWu by chance and would love to come back! Very tasty dishes at a fair price, the staff is friendly, the restaurant including the toilets is very clean. What more could you want? ;)

DongWu is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Düsseldorf. This is a restaurant dedicated to Szechuan cuisine. Szechuan promises spicy dishes! 
But Sichuan spicy has nothing to do with the spiciness of other countries (Mexico, Thailand or curry stalls). Sichuan sharpness is a revelation.
If you don't trust the spiciness, you should order the dishes without spiciness and ask to be allowed to season them yourself. If you really want to know and taste what flavor these wonderful soups bring, order them without spiciness and slowly approach the seasoning. The wonton dishes are an absolute highlight and if you really want to know, order number 102 “秘制钵钵水煮牛肉 Bowl Bowl Beef”, a truly gigantic portion with a level of spiciness of 3 🌶️🌶️🌶️. You can't do this portion alone. So take the rest home with you!
 The DongWu is a true pearl! If I'm sick or need strength, that's where I get it!

Food was nice but service was poor. My order was forgotten and it seemed to be i am not the only one. Several tables have their order forgotten during that shift. I asked if my order is still in processing then they started making my food. In total i had to wait for 40mim for simple noodle soup. Already ruined my mood but started eating. After 10min, staff approach me and say they are closing but i have 5more minute to eat… At this point i was so mad and completely killed my appetite. Food was nice but service was so poor enough to make me ignore that fact. Also when we entered the restaurant, the staff approached me and speaking Chinese. I am not Chinese and do not speak Chinese. This happens so often in asian restaurants. Chinese staffs working at asian restaurants should know that not all asian looking people are Chinese.

Premade noodles are not recommended. Low value for money and expensive drinks. Pay attention to hygiene.

Taste and authenticity tastes ambience! If you are looking for authentic Szechuan cuisine, you should stop here. Insanely delicious food. Not necessarily many vegan options, but they are there. Warning: The food is very spicy. Be careful. If you see 3 chillies, then we're not talking about German standards here!

The sushi and the starters are really tasty but misu soup was just subpar, had hardly any taste and the pork was more of a shoe sole.

The food is authentic Chinese. You especially feel it when you order something spicy. They take that seriously. Wouldn't recommend going above "two chili's" as a spice level. The food is amazing and the prices are so worth it. The service is nice they take a lot of time to advise you if you have questions :)

Shushi was not tasty, neither was the service good. It is quite cheap, but we were over charged for one dish and an extra drink.

If you like good spicy flavours, this is a must try. First time so took the medium level, noodles were good and the soup very flavourful. I look forward to another dish here again.

Simply 10/10. Super authentic cuisine and not European at all. Very strong taste and the noodles were homemade too. We will definitely come more often.

On the advice of the very courteous employee, we decided on spiciness level 2, even though we often eat spicy food and by that I don't mean spicy food in German restaurants. It was a good decision... The sharpness was perfect for us. A small outbreak of sweat, a tingling sensation in the mouth and an exhilarating feeling that spreads to the whole body. The Ma pao dou fu was super delicious!! We talked to the service about the menu and received some good tips for our next visit. The trip from Cologne was worth it. Yummy!

I went to a store that I often went to last year, but I didn’t go back for more than half a year after eating it and causing hair loss. For the same dish, the quantity is much smaller now than last year.

I ordered a bowl of noodles for 13.2 euros. There are a few pickles, a green vegetable, and a few chopstick noodles inside. As for the taste? I think any Chinese woman over 30 years old can make it.

I was in the restaurant for the first time today. I ordered a noodle soup with 100% spiciness and fried sardines. Both were very good. You should REALLY take the hotness thing seriously. Just right for me (I only know two restaurants that have more spiciness), but certainly not for everyone. But you can choose the level of spiciness. If you are only used to the pseudo-Chinese “glutamate temple” for German tastes, you should order this without the spiciness. I've never been to China, but when you're there, you really appreciate 5,000 years of culinary tradition. Ordering from one of the servers was a bit difficult due to her lack of knowledge of German, but it went well in English. Your colleague speaks German perfectly, well on average. Both very polite. The price is rather high, but nothing that stands out negatively on Oststrasse/Immermannstrasse. The price is justified considering the environment and quality. Repeat very safely.

Authentic and incredibly delicious Chinese cuisine. As a real insider tip for Immermannstrasse and the surrounding area, this fine restaurant, alongside many overcrowded and absolutely mediocre restaurants, unfortunately misses out on many Düsseldorf residents and visitors. You don't rip off guests with inferior ingredients just because they don't know the original taste. The fact that the restaurant is always busy with Chinese people speaks volumes. Absolutely recommended!!

The dish that was not cooked at all was said to be cooked. We don’t lack the money for this dish, but the business is so bad. I am really speechless...the attitude is also very bad. When asked for a tissue, I said you can go to the bar to get it...the taste is average.

The taste is okay but the portion is small and the price is not low The girl even added noodles once and was still not full. Drink Coke because you are full of gas.

My former girlfriend was Chinese and took me there for the authentic Chinese food. The food was super delicious! Level of spiciness 2-3 is good (we're both good at spiciness, but be careful about what level you order). The staff was also very friendly and attentive. Prices are fair within the scope of what you normally pay everywhere these days. Since then, I have always recommended it to friends and acquaintances and have always received happy feedback!

I do not often give 5 stars but this restaurant fully deserves it. Very authentic and tasty food. I can recommend it to anybody visiting Düsseldorf.

If you are in Düsseldorf, make sure to go here! No matter if you like it spicy (like, REALLY spicy) or not, they have something for everyone, and boy, is their food delicious! I can’t stop thinking about it. I would recommend to order a couple of dishes and share them, because you really should not miss out on any of them! The service itself is okay - not overly friendly, not rude, so nothing to complain about.
