This is a Chinese restaurant as you know it from before. Really rustic and classic.
The furnishings are as you would expect, paneled ceilings, dark wooden tables, matching decorations.
The service was very friendly.
But most importantly: the food is down-to-earth "Chinese cuisine" as usual from the 2000s, we liked both dishes exceptionally well and the portions are large enough to easily fill you up. The food (16-23€ for the main course) is not extremely cheap, but totally worth the price for the quality and quantity on offer.
We'll be back.
This place is really recommended... Not only is it fairly priced, but it also tastes really damn good. They still pay attention to quality and there is less choice than at the big chains, which have now become almost twice as expensive, but here you still have a really great flair and you are someone, not just a number. People recognize you here and are greeted nicely and everything. And no matter whether it's for the buffet on the weekend or ordering tickets, I'd rather go here than anywhere else.
the food tastes great! The deduction is because it is very unloving. For example, you get a huge plate with a spring roll. There is no sauce or some salad/some sliced cucumber or something.
Unfortunately there is no menu in Braille either.
Been here once, that's enough.
The order was taken by the oldest and unfriendly employee in the house and although she wrote down our wishes and repeated them verbally, there was trouble when it came to paying.
I got the 164 Douchi squid spicy, the food was unfortunately lukewarm, the taste was excellent. The portion is large and rice was included with every dish.
Unfortunately, the restaurant is not very inviting (four lamps and a screen) and cannot be compared to any typical Chinese restaurant in Kassel. Despite the sub-zero temperature outside, there was no heating inside. We were all freezing.
We ordered a second beer, unfortunately it wasn't served because the barrel was empty.
When paying, there was suddenly a different starter soup on the bill than what was actually ordered.
All in all, there is still a lot that needs to be improved here.
We were there as a family last weekend. The first time and definitely the last time. The food is okay, but unfortunately only lukewarm, assuming there is any at all. The restaurant opens at 5:30 p.m. We were there at 6 p.m. The first bowls at the buffet were not filled until 6:20 p.m. Until 8 p.m., more than 50% (rather significantly less) of the "warm dishes" were never available. The service was subpar. Linguistically very difficult. Unfortunately also the waiting times for drinks. We only got a still water after half an hour and asking 3 times. The other drinks also arrived very late. It's very tight at the buffet. We wanted to celebrate our daughter's birthday in Detmold. The day was great, unfortunately the restaurant wasn't.
The Chinese snack bar WOK e.K. at Riesstraße 5, 79539 Lörrach, offers a diverse selection of Chinese dishes. Many guests praise the freshness of the food and the good value for money. However, some visitors mention that the ambience is simple and that improvements in hygiene would be desirable. Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturdays continuously from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Overall, the restaurant receives positive reviews, with particular emphasis on the quick preparation and friendly service.
Always extremely friendly, depending on the time there is a waiting time, but there is also the option to pre-order by phone. The food is always freshly prepared, always comes hot from the kitchen and is packaged very conveniently.
I've never been disappointed in terms of taste - it's still wonderfully edible the following day (although there's usually nothing left over because it's so delicious)
I haven’t eaten here in more than a year, and I thought there would be many new dishes, but it turned out to be the same as the ones from more than a year ago. How can I put it, it felt like it lacked a bit of freshness.
Then the food was served very slowly tonight. . . There were three dishes for two people. The second dish took 46 minutes and the last dish took 1 hour and 11 minutes to be served. The people next door who came later than us had several dishes.
When I asked the waiter to order the food, the first feedback I got was not an apology, but "I don't dare to rush the chef, you have to wait." But what does the chef’s mood have to do with me? Why should I consider the chef’s mood when cooking? It’s not the first day the restaurant opens. Isn’t it common sense that there will be many people on Saturdays? I can understand, I can wait, and within half an hour is called waiting, but 71 minutes is really too much; not expressing apology is really too much.
The last dish, which I had been waiting for for so long, was so salty that it felt like the chef was being pushed into the dish and was in a bad mood to retaliate against me. I lost my appetite at the end of the meal and just packed it away. It was not a pleasant dining experience anyway.
But the taro chicken is delicious, recommended
Update 12/9/24
The food was completely fine, we were very satisfied. However, it was so cold there that we had to keep our jackets on the whole time. Even both waitresses wore thick quilted vests.
UPDATE: Went there on Sunday, April 7th, with a larger group to celebrate a birthday (although they were told this on the phone, it wasn't addressed or even congratulated). Instead, even though we weren't there yet, we were urged to order. Unfortunately, the lady who serves the most hardly understands anything (German) and there were always mix-ups, very unpleasant. We would also have liked to have dessert, but since it took 5 attempts until we got the right menu, i.e. the ice cream menu, and even though we had said 4 times that we would order dessert when everyone had finished eating, it came said “lady” again and again and wanted to take the order. Guys, that's not possible, we were all really annoyed and upset, we had imagined our birthday to be different and more comfortable. We then paid and went to the ice cream parlor a few houses away and ate ice cream and drank coffee in peace and quiet. "That would have been your money" if the service had understood us and not been so pushy, it's a real shame!!! Unfortunately, the portions have also become significantly smaller and in return the prices have risen significantly.....
Older review from us:
It would be nice if someone came to the table every now and then and asked if anything was missing. Unfortunately today we had to keep looking and running so that we could get more drinks, or the sticks we wanted, or more sauce, or even if the rice was empty. Otherwise we were very satisfied with the food.
