The food was tasty, the service was quick but the chairs outside were somehow uncomfortable. But the pizza was definitely delicious and I would eat here again.
I went to Fuchun Garden today to review it. Generally speaking, it is very cost-effective, the meat is delicious, the seasonings are delicious, and they are complete, the dishes are fresh, and the drinks are unlimited (just a few drinks in other restaurants cost more than 10 euros [呲ya]). Some people have commented on the slow service of food. The business in the store is indeed good, which is understandable. After all, there are other customers. There is also a story about a waitress with a ponytail who likes to show off. Personally, I think she seems to be from the south and speaks blunt Mandarin. She should have that kind of personality, so she is not just trying to show off. (I chatted with her for a while, she is quite nice.) In addition, she is tall. One of the men should be the boss, and the other woman should be the proprietress. The service is amazing [呲呲], and she is very enthusiastic. Because I have to catch the bus back after dinner, the boss also enthusiastically told me the shortcut to the train station, and also explained some experiences of living in Germany... A successful experience, I will visit you frequently [Shengli] and wish you a prosperous business [yeah][yeah][yeah]
Absolutely unjustified and disarming warmth is what you encounter in the service here - even when the hut is completely full.
And absolutely outstanding food too - the schnitzel is absolutely gold! 🏅 Don't be put off by the website saying that "only" a bistro menu is available between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. - many restaurants would like to have the dishes on the bistro menu as a regular menu 🙃
Perfect! Great ambience, delicious food, super friendly and accommodating staff... what more could you want for a lovely evening 🤩
Thanks again to Kay and his team for making barrier-free access possible for us😀
Absolutely amazing restaurant – a real find!
I absolutely loved my visit! There was gluten-free spaghetti, cooked perfectly al dente and wonderfully combined with fresh mushrooms, parmesan and the best olive oil - simply delicious! When I asked for gluten-free bread, I was even spontaneously offered corn waffles with homemade aioli - super tasty and great service!
The price-performance ratio is more than fair, but what really makes this place special is the exceptional hospitality: the owner Leo is incredibly warm, creates a great atmosphere and even gave me his cell phone number at the end to get gluten-free bread especially for me next time. You rarely experience so much personal attention!
A real insider tip for table tennis fans too: Leo knows many Borussia Düsseldorf players and the restaurant is a popular meeting place for the team - which gives the place a special touch.
Overall, it was one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. Unreserved recommendation and full 5 stars!
The Sunday before last, the two of us had the pleasure of enjoying a late lunch at the Ratsstuben Elten.
This meant we were able to spontaneously reserve a table, as the restaurant is usually fully booked during peak hours. The hostess, Manuela Winkelmann, always tries to find a spot. But that doesn't always work out.
Late reservations can sometimes be unlucky.
We had a mushroom pan, which was very tasty. It was served rustically in a cast-iron pan on a wooden board. The portion is generous and filling.
The side salad that was ordered with it is almost a course in itself, which, based on the hostess's recommendation, is better shared between two people rather than everyone ordering one. Thank you for the kind tip. The salad was delicious and varied.
The homemade Sauerbraten "Rhenish Style" with a dark sweet and sour sauce, served with small potato dumplings and red cabbage, was very good.
The portion is for guests with a large appetite, and it's definitely filling.
The ambiance is rustic and rather dark, which is certainly due to the fact that it was originally a restaurant (pub).
The north-facing window front, which is opposite the church and therefore allows less daylight into the rooms, adds to the atmosphere. This makes it quaintly cozy.
The service is friendly and helpful, and the hostess is a true "Eltense Mädsche" (Eltense girl), with her heart on her sleeve and a correspondingly pleasantly witty and cheeky manner.
The concept is rustic, quaint, with its own charm and typical of the Lower Rhine region.
The price-performance ratio is good.
We keep coming back. :-)
I'd like to add that we were invited to dinner on March 22, 2025, by a group of men.
The pork medallions and the schnitzel with fresh mushrooms in a cream sauce, as well as the mixed platter, were again very good.
Beforehand, we had fresh, warm bread with herb butter and a dip, which was really delicious.
So... we'll be back.
