Lovely restaurant with good food, friendly service, and welcoming guests.

Unfortunately, the food is absolutely not worth the price! There were three of us there, we got our drinks quickly, and after ordering our food, it took a very long time for the food to arrive. The "Rausmühlenschnitzel from Eifel pork loin in a panko coating" was very dry (this panko coating was completely unacceptable, and the restaurant should go back to a conventional coating), the mushrooms tasted like canned food, the sauce was a soup spoon, and the homemade fries that came with it didn't add to the excitement (none of us liked them).

The food (Eifler Schnitzel) was delicious; I really enjoyed it. Yes, the price... not exactly a bargain, but fair, since everything is freshly prepared here. A great experience dining at this restaurant. It's the old mill in the area. The food is top-notch. The only downside is that it's hard to find, but it's worth the search.

A superb dinner. If you get there early enough, the parking lot is still free ;-). The service was very professional and attentive, the food was truly high-quality and very, very tasty, and the atmosphere at the old mill is incredibly cozy. The prices are a bit high, but you get quality! We made a reservation online, and it worked without a hitch. If you want, you can combine your restaurant visit with a hike in the beautiful Eifgenbach Valley. The Way of St. James runs right past here, and for thirsty hikers and bikers, there's a fridge outside with delicious drinks (and a tin can for a change). We'd be happy to come back anytime.

We were at the Rausmühle for our wedding anniversary and were warmly welcomed with a glass of delicious sparkling wine each. The service was very attentive, and the meal was a little culinary journey for us. The service was super friendly and child-friendly, and when something wasn't quite right with a dish (which definitely happened on a day when the restaurant was completely full), the dish in question was promptly removed from the bill... exemplary!! Some of the food is very expensive! The quality is okay. Some of the seating is uncomfortable.

Great restaurant with a very cozy atmosphere. We sat outside in the beautiful weather and had a wonderful evening with excellent food. The starter, main course, and dessert were all simply outstanding. Hikers will also get their money's worth, with beautiful hiking trails in the immediate vicinity.

My favorite restaurant! Delicious food, a lovely atmosphere in the old mill, a shady beer garden in the Eifgen, and, of course, excellent service. The menu is rather small and changes seasonally.

Absolutely excellent food. Super friendly staff. The only thing that could be improved is the ambiance. And don't get me wrong. I like the old charm. Details like the bench cushions or the exterior facade don't quite fit with the rest of the place anymore. But I'm only rating that because it's been asked for. Great restaurant that's also a dream during a bike ride or hike.

Absolutely unjustified and disarming warmth is what you encounter in the service here - even when the hut is completely full. And absolutely outstanding food too - the schnitzel is absolutely gold! 🏅 Don't be put off by the website saying that "only" a bistro menu is available between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. - many restaurants would like to have the dishes on the bistro menu as a regular menu 🙃

Great location, rustically furnished and therefore exudes a rustic, rural charm. The dishes are sensibly portioned and excellently prepared. Service very attentive and friendly. A large selection of high-quality brandies rounds off the gastronomy experience at the end with a delicious nightcap.

We always enjoy coming to Rausmühle. Always a delicious experience in summer and winter. The service not only tries to create a very friendly atmosphere - but also manages it! Problems are addressed promptly and specifically - and solutions are offered. So our reservation in winter with 9 people was postponed by 30 minutes at short notice. We were called and it was clarified - we were then treated to mulled wine outside in the tent to tide us over. That was even better than sitting down straight away :-) Sat comfortably outside in the summer. Food was always great and special requests from our children were never a problem. Yes, the journey in the dark is part of the event, but that makes the Rausmühle all the more exciting. There are real professionals at work here who enjoy their work.

I was a regular there in the 70s to 90s. Now I haven't been there for umpteen years and was pleasantly surprised. The whole shop, which is a listed building, is in immaculate condition. The historical ambience is beautiful, stylish and tastefully designed. The service was very friendly and fast and far above average attentive. Drink selection good. The menu tries to “spruce up” the regional, middle-class cuisine in some way. A bit “too much” in my opinion. As a person living in Switzerland, a Cordon Bleu filled with Mettwurst is simply suspicious to me. But my onion roast was ok. Commendable: the cooking point ordered (medium rare) was spot on and the edge of fat was retained, as it should be. The saddle of game that the companion had ordered was also beautifully prepared and pink. This is no longer a given these days. Price-performance ratio is completely fine. Anyone who thinks it's too expensive has no idea about gastronomy. In view of the very well-filled restaurant, the Rausmühle seems to have found its audience.

Ambitious demands and room for improvement. A well-sounding menu and nicely prepared food. Taste and processing are rather average. The Eifel schnitzel was dry and salty, the fries were greasy and hard, the mushrooms were very average and had no sauce or flavor worth mentioning. For the price and the flowery words in the menu, it's quite a failure. My partner's burger was better, but not sensational either. There is no wine list, you have to seek advice to order a wine. This is rather unpleasant. We know each other very well and I prefer to search personally. I would also like to know the prices. They don't come up in conversation. The quality of the restaurant is not suitable for such an approach. The atmosphere is nice, the employees are friendly and they are convinced of their own concept. It's a bit of a show for what comes out in the end. Ultimately it's about the food and that still has plenty of room for a 5-star rating.

Thanks for this tip! After a long drive through fields and forests and the anxious question of whether this is still the right path, the Rausmühlenensemble is found. A beautiful historic place with phenomenal service. A warm welcome - we hadn't made a reservation, but we arrived right when it opened at 3 p.m. and luckily there was a free table for us in the perfectly designed outdoor area. The menu is a treasure for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The highest quality of ingredients, creative dishes and drinks - literally a poem for sophisticated tastes. And a very big plus - a very attentive and warm staff with a good eye for our needs regarding our order. 5/5 stars and we look forward to next time!

Over the weekend I was in the area again visiting a friend and what could be better than trying something special again? So we reserved a table for Sunday. A short walk through the forest and we were able to take a seat on the beautiful terrace of the Rausmühle. The drinks were picked up straight away and brought to the table within a few minutes. Ordering the food was easy (just everything in order from top to bottom...hahaha). Well, it wasn't that easy after all. The menu has enough choice and everything sounds really great. In this case it was just one dish that we/I really enjoyed. The composition/selection of products is really great and I haven't seen, sorry, eaten that before. It tasted absolutely delicious. Many thanks to the Rausmühle team for the great culinary evening. It was nice with you. And if I ever come back to the area to visit my friends, I'll definitely be able to spend the evening with you a second time. Kind regards from the Wutachtal to Wermelskirchen.

The service is definitely worth highlighting. It's rare to get such friendly and attentive service anymore. You immediately feel at home and as if you have been a regular guest for several years. The food is also super delicious!

Nice restaurant, great and quiet location. With a very nice beer garden. Very cozy inside - definitely worth a visit in winter. The location is actually very good and invites you to take a break while hiking. Unfortunately there is a lack of capacity. Unfortunately, without a reservation it is almost impossible to get a table spontaneously from the late afternoon onwards. Compromise solutions (e.g. if tables are only available for a limited time) are also rejected by the staff, which is a real shame. The waitress, probably the "master of the house", was unfortunately quite unfriendly and seemed very stressed, even though the restaurant was only half full. The other two, younger waitresses (a man and a woman) were, in contrast to their boss (??), very friendly and attentive! If you can't get a seat in the restaurant or just want to take a short break, there is also a drinks fridge next door for self-service, also with a few adjacent seats: a great offer! Overall quite expensive, including the drinks.

Very cozy, rustic atmosphere, the location is beautiful in the forest. The food tasted excellent. When the onion roasts were served, people immediately said that the cook had noticed that one portion was stringy and that a replacement piece would be brought straight away. The service was very friendly (they use the “group you”) and extremely professional. The employees know the menu and the components of the dishes inside out and the wine recommendation was also appropriate and the wine was characterized precisely. All in all, a real recommendation!

Wow, we are absolutely thrilled! A real “insider tip” :-) Coincidence brought us here... because of our dog, we were thrown out of the restaurant in the neighboring valley. But it was a shame for us to leave this beautiful region without anything to eat. So we spontaneously called and explained our mishap. Even though it was a Sunday and certainly not busy, we were promised to come. We were warmly welcomed and experienced great service - because of Germany's service oasis! The starters were delicious, the burger (with homemade sauce) was simply brilliant, the goat cheese and dessert were equally successful. A good kitchen that offers a manageable and well thought-out menu with local products. Without asking, the differences in the white wine selection were explained to us - extremely friendly with genuine interest, a lot of heart and passion. A big compliment to the employees. You gave us a wonderful afternoon :-) We will definitely come back... from the no less beautiful Vordertaunus.

Starter bread with dip not exactly cheap for the quantity. The main course was very tasty but I found the quantity was very small and unfortunately didn't fill me up. Dessert is super delicious and really addictive!

I was here for the second time with a very good friend. The service was great, always attentive, always with a friendly comment, everything was above average. The food was also exceptionally good. Everything is very fresh, portions are absolutely sufficient and very tasty. We had unexpectedly good weather, so we were able to sit outside in front of the beautiful half-timbered house. The Rausmühle is always worth a visit. The service is friendly, the Bergisches Cordon Bleu is highly recommended. The only thing I would like to see on the next visit is a little more variety on the menu.

Guests with the Pagoden Club in the beautiful Rausmühle restaurant. The path is a little bumpy and narrow, but the destination is a real highlight. Given the many very good reviews, details about the food and service are unnecessary. Both are simply TOP. The atmosphere in the restaurant is rustic and very cozy. Old drive belt guides on the ceiling bear witness to the building's history as a grain and bone mill. We would have liked to know a little more about this. The somewhat weathered sign at the parking lot at least gave some information about it. Conclusion: Go and enjoy!

Yesterday the five of us were at Rausmühle on the occasion of my birthday. The reservation in advance worked without any problems via open table. We were warmly welcomed by a nice waiter who promptly wished me a happy birthday - very attentive. In addition, five glasses of Prosecco were brought to the table, which were on the house - and very attentive. In general the service was friendly and accommodating. The food and the location are simply wonderful. Everything fits here. We will definitely be back in a smaller group and certainly again as a couple. Thank you for the lovely evening, see you soon...

An excellent price-performance ratio for food and drinks. Because of the atmosphere and the decoration we immediately felt at home. The service should be highlighted - we have never had such an attentive and friendly stay anywhere. With today's first visit we immediately became regular guests!

We were lucky that we hiked in bad weather, so getting a table without a reservation wasn't a problem. The food was delicious, the service good.
