Fritz Winand Gaststätte in Wermelskirchen

We wanted to celebrate my husband's birthday with the Best Of menu. Unfortunately, the event was canceled, but Malte Hess spontaneously conjured up an exclusive menu, making it a perfect evening for us. As always, the meal was a culinary delight in the beautiful outdoor setting. The service was also excellent and very attentive. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

Everything was great! The food was delicious, fresh, and prepared quickly. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. A highly recommended snack bar! 😊 Small suggestion: Perhaps the young lady (without glasses) at the cash register could use her phone after closing time – it would look much more professional 😉

After our hike, we spontaneously went looking for a place to eat because we were quite hungry. This rustic yet authentic restaurant was recommended to us near the Dhünntalsperre (Dhünn Dam). Shortly after opening, we entered the restaurant and were immediately warmly welcomed. We opted for a Jägerschnitzel (hunter's schnitzel) and a Pfefferschnitzel (pepper schnitzel), each with fries and a small side salad. When the food arrived, we were truly surprised by the size of the portions – the schnitzel almost filled the entire plate! You could even hear the owner preparing it fresh in the kitchen. I'm not giving it five stars because I've had better food, but I'm giving it a solid 4 out of 5 stars because you get what you expect (and even a little more). Overall, a harmonious experience with honest food and friendly service. You'll leave the restaurant feeling full!
