Trattoria & Bar Gigante in Düsseldorf

I came without a reservation as my father needed to use the restroom Despite being fully booked they accommodated us. We ordered a couple of coffees and they have us complimentary pizza slices for tasting. Very happy with the service. Will come next time and try out different things. :) Super happy 😊

Absolutely amazing restaurant – a real find! I absolutely loved my visit! There was gluten-free spaghetti, cooked perfectly al dente and wonderfully combined with fresh mushrooms, parmesan and the best olive oil - simply delicious! When I asked for gluten-free bread, I was even spontaneously offered corn waffles with homemade aioli - super tasty and great service! The price-performance ratio is more than fair, but what really makes this place special is the exceptional hospitality: the owner Leo is incredibly warm, creates a great atmosphere and even gave me his cell phone number at the end to get gluten-free bread especially for me next time. You rarely experience so much personal attention! A real insider tip for table tennis fans too: Leo knows many Borussia Düsseldorf players and the restaurant is a popular meeting place for the team - which gives the place a special touch. Overall, it was one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. Unreserved recommendation and full 5 stars!

Great ambiance, very friendly and attentive service. Excellent aoili with the bread to start. The fennel salad with scampi and honeydew melon was delicious, as was the sea bream. The pizza was OK!

Once a year we hold a women's evening there and are always greeted with lots of love and very good food. A beautiful shop with a great atmosphere. Always worth an evening!

Our favorite Italian! Whether pizza or pasta, it's all incredibly good and typically Italian. The service is warm and Leo and the entire team are excellent hosts! Particularly noteworthy is the wine list and Leo's wine recommendations, which always go well with the dishes.

The owner (Leo) was great with us, he was very kind and attentive, the food was an authentic Italian delight, and he is kind enough to say goodbye to each and every one of his clients at the door and those details make the difference. We will return without a doubt.

We came here because of the very good reviews. However, this is an average Italian stuck in time. The food was OK, but absolutely nothing special. Unfortunately the base of the pizza wasn't cooked through and the pasta was cold. The pizza dough gave the impression that it could have risen a little longer. The owner was very friendly and tried hard, but unfortunately the food didn't make up for it.

Went spontaneously to eat in the restaurant. Despite the store being full, we were warmly welcomed personally by the boss and quickly found a very nice seat. The great ambience and the child-friendly service were great. The nice personal stories from the boss shortened our waiting time. The food (pizza and pasta) was particularly delicious. The boss also had a good alternative for those with milk intolerance. In short, an evening like you’re on vacation. Unfortunately we only had limited time. But we'd love to come back and have more time to try the limoncello on offer.

The rooms are very comfortable and you can also sit outside at small tables. Some of the pasta dishes were not good, carpaccio was unfortunately stuck to the plate because it was heated, without oil, very sparingly with parmesan. Noodles too soft. The service was attentive and friendly. We don't live in Düsseldorf and would rather stop at another Italian restaurant.

GIGANTIC! Very friendly owner and service staff. They are actual Italians and I think this shows in the warm manner in which this restaurant is run, as well as in the contact with the guests. Always very well attended. But a place is always found, even for a group of six people in our case; The entire table layout is simply changed and the service runs a different way! Class! That’s how it goes, with fun for everyone… great food by the way… Grazie!

Scallopine al Limone were fantastic. Good meat, nice and lemony and really seasoned. Pasta seemed more like an Asian dish in terms of color/style, but it was also delicious. Very, very nice boss.

We chose catering from this fantastic restaurant for our civil wedding and we couldn't have made a better decision! Leo, the owner, took personal care of us from the start. With his warm and attentive manner he took us by the hand. He created a special menu for us that was exactly what we wanted: from the delicious lasagna to penne funghi and bruschetta. Not forgetting the desserts – tiramisu and chocolate mousse, which were to die for! Everything tasted just as fantastic as we have come to expect from his restaurant. Leo not only ensured excellent food, but also that the entire organization ran seamlessly. Every detail was perfectly coordinated, which made our celebrations particularly stress-free and enjoyable. Ragazi bonasera pizza it's true nothing so tasty no tomatoes promoters on pizza only met cheese Service was very bad even though I said the salad had to be brought all together with the main courses. Her waitress brought the salad as a starter and thank you for the tip anyway. I won't be back

Alle Gerichte waren sehr lecker, der Wein - sehr angenehm im Geschmack, und die Atmosphäre - unglaublich. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, sehr höflich und aufmerksam. Äußerst freundliches Personal, dass sich hervorragend auf die Gäste einlässt. Sowohl einfache Gerichte bis hin zu der gehobenen und kreativen Küche. Mittags hatten wir überraschend kurze Wartezeit, bis das Essen kam. Die Portionen waren Preis-/Leistungsmäßig mehr als gut. Und der Geschmack war himmlisch.

Ein gemütliches Restaurant mit sehr leckeren frisch zubereiteten Speisen und sehr gutem Service. So gute Italienische Küche findet man selten.

Unser Abend im Restaurant war wirklich sehr schön, und der Service war richtig gut. Das Restaurant ist etwas eng. Die Pizza war in Ordnung und bot ein gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Was diesen Besuch jedoch besonders gemacht hat, war der persönliche Einsatz des Inhabers, der uns höchstwahrscheinlich bedient hat. Seine Leidenschaft und Hingabe haben diesen Abend zu etwas Besonderem gemacht. Wir werden definitiv wiederkommen!
