Steaks cooked to perfection! Excellent! A bit pricey, but very good quality and definitely justified. Would gladly return. Update 12/17/2025: The food was again excellent, cooked to perfection. However, I would have appreciated a bit more customer service. There are certainly legal regulations regarding the validity of vouchers, and the 7-year validity period that would have been acceptable was generous, but to simply refuse to accept a voucher that had been valid for quite some time (since 2014), for which the €70 had already been paid and collected, and to offer no compensation whatsoever, not even a partial refund, for drinks or anything else, is very disconcerting. Therefore, I unfortunately have to revise my "would gladly return" rating, which costs it 2 stars.
Update 12/21/2025:
You should read carefully. I didn't write "unfriendly," but rather "a bit MORE customer service" and "very disconcerting." I also knew I would receive such a response. Unfortunately, one cannot rate the ability to accept criticism here.
Outstanding restaurant. I have eaten at hundreds of restaurants over the past year, and Herrmann is one of the best. I had the pumpkin soup to start and the braised venison for my main. Both were a pleasure to see and eat. The staff was warm and professional and the atmosphere cozy and open all at once. I just had a cappuccino to end the evening, but everything about this restaurant and the people there was wonderful.
We stayed for three days and were absolutely delighted. The nurses were incredibly friendly and attentive, leaving nothing to be desired. Breakfast was excellent, and we had everything we needed. It was incredibly peaceful.
In short: We'd go back anytime.
From the outside, it's rather unassuming and not very inviting. But once inside, it's completely authentic and lovely. The food is very good, the portions are generous, and the hosts are very friendly.
The lunch menu is also a big plus.
The doner kebab is quite good now; it used to be rather mediocre.
My problem, however, is the unreliable staff.
When I order something for pickup by phone in advance, it's because I want to pick it up quickly (e.g., during my lunch break).
When I'm given a time for pickup, and I go to the shop at that time and it's obvious they haven't even started preparing the order, I really wonder what they're thinking. I order in advance precisely so I DON'T have to wait another 10 or 15 minutes in the shop...
We arrived without a reservation because we were coming from out of town. The restaurant was full. The owner set a table for us outside. It was nice and warm. The service was excellent. I had souvlaki, which was still slightly undercooked.
That might have been due to the restaurant being so full. Prices were a bit high.
We had our Christmas party there yesterday with a pizza buffet! And it was a complete disaster. It was so badly organized that I ended up paying €20 for one slice of pizza and two glasses of Fanta because the pizza kept running out. Of course, with 60 people, that's understandable, but Il Mio should have baked something better! I kept going back to the waiters and asking when the pizza would arrive, and all I got was "soon, soon, soon." My little son was having a meltdown and crying from hunger! It was just sad! I pointed this out several times, but nothing was done!! Also, 70% of the people didn't eat pork, and they only served two Margherita pizzas for 60 people!!! They said there would be pizza until everyone was full, but there were only five of us, and none of us were full, and €100 was wasted! It would have been much easier if each person had ordered their own pizza, which would have cost significantly less, and everyone would have been satisfied! The organization was terrible, and the waiters couldn't have cared less!
We managed to get a table at short notice for a birthday party for 13 people. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely top-notch. The price-performance ratio was perfect! We were really impressed :-)
We came on the recommendation of a guest who had been here several times before. Otherwise, we probably wouldn't have gone to a Greek restaurant in Upper Bavaria. The food was really delicious, cooked to perfection. The service was attentive and quick.
The ambiance is rather austere for Upper Bavaria/Mediterranean. It's a large room with relatively hard surfaces, so it's rather noisy.
Overall, we were very satisfied.
