Restaurant Saloniki in Bad Griesbach i.Rottal

We arrived without a reservation because we were coming from out of town. The restaurant was full. The owner set a table for us outside. It was nice and warm. The service was excellent. I had souvlaki, which was still slightly undercooked. That might have been due to the restaurant being so full. Prices were a bit high.

Disaster – not recommended Inattentive service, lukewarm and tasteless food, far too expensive. The atmosphere was dingy and chaotic. Absolutely disappointing – stay away! The old owner acts like he's important and is incredibly unfriendly. Never again a Greek restaurant…

This restaurant is a bench! This is how excellent dining works, so nothing happens without a reservation. We went there twice in a row because we were simply thrilled. If you, like me, don't like meat and overfilled plates, you'll also find delicious fish on the "seniors' menu." Ouzo as a starter and dessert to finish off the experience makes you feel like you're in Greece! The staff are incredibly funny and attentive. Thank you!

You can only be sure of a seat with a reservation. The staff are very nice, friendly, attentive, and the food is delicious.

Despite the place being packed, we were seated within minutes (we didn't have a reservation). The service was extremely attentive and prompt. The food arrived in no time, and it was amazing! We haven't had such Greek food in a long time. Thank you!

We were really looking forward to the restaurant but were disappointed. We had a seat right by the entrance. The door had to be left open. It was freezing cold. We felt like we were at a train station. The food came very quickly, one after the other, only to quickly clear the table for more guests. It was a shame. We didn't go back the next day out of disappointment.

Very good food, generous portions. Despite the busy schedule, the waiters are always in a good mood, very friendly, and attentive. A complimentary ouzo to start and a small dessert to finish. A very nice gesture and certainly not something you'd take for granted anymore. Highly recommended.

I went there for the first time today with a friend! We had called half an hour before and asked if we could make a reservation. The waiter asked when and said in about 30 minutes. The waiter said, "A moment later, we had a table, less than a minute later." The food was so incredibly delicious. I would recommend it again. Top-notch service, even in a rush. I only have one complaint, sorry. When it came to paying, someone else came and took our money! We thought that was a shame 😔 But we still managed to slip them some money.

I can't judge. The owner is on a well-deserved vacation. I'll try it another time. By the way, the same applies to many other restaurants when they're on vacation. So it's best to call ahead. What you find on Google isn't always accurate.

Cheap, very tasty and top staff

We had a company party with 18 people and received quick and friendly service. The food was very good. The portions were generous. We also included a small dessert on the house. 😋♥

We had gyros with rice and a small salad. The gyros was okay. The rice had no flavor, and the salad had no dressing, just oil. It was more like cafeteria food. Not worth the €15 price tag.

We found the restaurant by chance. We got a table right away. The food was delicious, and the service and staff were super friendly and accommodating. We would gladly come back anytime. Unfortunately, our vacation is over. It was a perfect ending.

Update from July 10, 2025 Luckily, we had a reservation again! It was busy again. But the guys are sooooo fast and friendly. The kitchen was also fast again. 5 out of 5 ⭐️ October 19, 2023 Well attended despite it being a weekday (I therefore recommend making a reservation). We had grilled pepperoni with tzatziki and baked eggplant with tzatziki for starters, and a gyro plate and a senior portion of Yra for main courses. Both were delicious, although we're used to the gyro being a bit crispier. But the taste was still good. We're used to a welcoming ouzo and a farewell ouzo at Greek restaurants, but here, as a welcome from the kitchen, they even serve a small piece of cake 🍰 for dessert. Great surprise! The two servers were friendly and attentive. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately, the food, service, and ambiance deserve only 5 stars instead of 10! I recommend making a table reservation, but without one, we waited less than 10 minutes. Everything was GREAT!!!

I went there twice last weekend because I loved the food. I wasn't disappointed the second time either. The staff was very attentive and extremely friendly. Since I was there early, I managed to get a seat. Without a reservation, it gets tricky around 6:30. I was also delighted when I received a small, delicious dessert on the house. All in all, I highly recommend it.

Ich habe gegrillte Kalamari bestellt, die absolut ungenießbar waren - zäh, gummiartig und ohne Geschmack. Ich habe die Speise sofort reklamiert und ein Ersatzgericht bekommen. Trotzdem wurde mir das ursprünglich reklamierte Essen berechnet. Als ich das nach dem Bezahlen ansprach, reagierte der Chef unfreundlich und uneinsichtig. Sehr enttäuschend - sowohl in der Qualität als auch im Umgang mit Gästen. Ich kann dieses Restaurant leider nicht empfehlen.

Einer der besten Griechen weit und breit. Man bekam auch ohne Reservierung einen Platz. Alle Kellner waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Am besten war jedoch, dass uns der Chef höchstpersönlich zu unserem Hotel zurück fuhr, da wir leider kein Taxi ordern konnten. Wir kommen definitiv wieder :-)

Seit vielen Jahren gehen wir bei einem Aufenthalt in Bad Griesbach in dieses Restaurant, diese Woche sogar dreimal. Chef und Personal sind sehr freundlich, auch wenn im Restaurant Hochbetrieb ist. Alle Gerichte sind sehr gut und absolut empfehlenswert. Natürlich kommen wir wieder.

The best Greek restaurant in the area! For us a must for every stay in Bad Griesbach. This year we ate here three times in one week and every dish was really excellent. The boss and the staff are very friendly, even when all the tables are occupied. Of course we'll be back!

This is a great Greek. Everything fits where you come in. You receive a friendly welcome, the food is great and the dessert is also delicious. The Greek is highly recommended again and again.

An excellent Greek restaurant in the middle of the thermal area. I have rarely eaten such good lamb. Super nice and accommodating staff, even when “the hut is on fire”. In addition, there are totally moderate prices. That's why you should always make a reservation

We pre-ordered food for 10 people and picked it up. Unfortunately, the numbers of the dishes were not indicated on the Styrofoam boxes. This made distributing quite a bit of work, unfortunately the food got completely cold in the meantime. Otherwise there was nothing wrong with the quality of the food. Thanks for the great food.

Waren vor ein paar Tagen dort. Obwohl wir nicht reserviert hatten, was hier empfehlenswert ist, hat man sich um uns gekümmert und noch ein Plätzchen für uns organisiert. Gott sei Dank…..denn es wäre uns etwas entgangen. Schönes Lokal und tolles Essen. Der Service war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Besuch.

Very tasty food. I found the portion a bit too small, especially with the side dishes. But there is a small salad with the meal and we got a small piece of tiramisu for dessert. I would go back at any time. Can be further recommended

Sehr leckerer Grieche direkt an der Therme, in stimmungsvollen Ambiente. Wir lieben es nach einem Thermenbesuch zum Mittagstisch hierher zu gehen. Sehr netter Service vom Chef persönlich, und die Mama mit Team kocht einfach perfekt. Übrigens gibt es Ouzo und Nachtisch aufs Haus, ebenfalls total lecker. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder! Weiter so!!

We've eaten there more often now (outside and in the restaurant). Service is friendly and direct and quick. The food is typically Greek and good. It's very loud inside when it's full and you get the impression that you'll be happy to leave soon so that a table can be freed up. Just a lot of hecticness, which is not our thing. Will come again next summer when you can sit outside...

We went to the Saloniki restaurant several times for both lunch and dinner. We were absolutely satisfied and thrilled every time. Very nice, almost family-like staff. Even when the house was full, the food always came very quickly. The small dessert after the main course is a welcome, nice gesture from the restaurant. The food was always of the best quality and excellently prepared. We can recommend the restaurant without reservation and are already looking forward to our next visit.

The food was good...but the drink prices weren't. 👎🏻 A wine spritzer over 6.- is cheeky. Likewise, 0.2 liters of Greek Mavrodaphne for over €6 does not tempt you to order.

We ate in Saloniki for the third time yesterday and were super satisfied as before. Of course the free ouzo is on the bill, of course you don't have to pay for it. The greeting from the kitchen at the end is simply a poem. Thank you for a great evening.

Four of us had dinner here and were very satisfied. Dishes taste very good, service and prices are A1. At the end there was a small dessert, on the house, it was great, I'd love to come back!

Went to this restaurant for the first time by chance. Rarely have I met such friendly and helpful employees. You could see that the patron is a restaurateur with heart and soul. His eyes were everywhere and he was always there. Because we were so excited, we completely forgot to take photos. Just this starter: black olives and pepperoni 4* super tasty, grilled pike-perch, lemon rice and salad 4* super tasty, gyros with calamari, rice, tzatziki, small salad 4* very tasty. For dessert there was a little something from the house - great attention with taste. The price-performance ratio is more than appropriate. We felt very comfortable, were served excellently and ate very tasty food. Always my pleasure!

Nice restaurant with a Greek atmosphere. The seafood was good, the salad with it tasted watery and bland, the tzatziki was too salty. As a side dish there is a spoonful of rice and fries for an additional charge. The service was OK, but in the end the kicker: the normal Uzo, which was brought without being asked, was charged twice for €2.40.
