A very nice hotel with very friendly staff, whether at the reception or in the catering area, very nice and very clean rooms.
The breakfast is of very good quality
The location is great, 10-15 minutes walk to the basilica
We'll be back
It doesn't have the typical Bavarian flair, which isn't a bad thing. A bit too hip for my taste but as I said, that's a matter of taste.
I had schnitzel with fries, and my friend had the beef burger with potatoes.
The fries and potatoes are frozen goods.
The schnitzel was tasty. The burger was ok, but unfortunately it was missing a sauce or something “peppy”.
The food came quickly and the conditions were friendly.
That didn't work for us!
I ordered the roast pork and asked if it was two dumplings. I was told they could add an extra one, but in the end I had three, since two are standard. The woman could have said that directly. Well, they could have saved the third dumpling, because it wasn't tasty! It didn't have a proper consistency; it was incredibly floury and mushy, tasted of nothing. The roast pork might just not have been my cup of tea, but it was EXTREMELY fatty, nothing like a schnitzel. It was significantly more overcooked. There were also individual bones around the edges. Very unappetizing. My friend had a turkey salad, and that was the icing on the cake. It was completely lacking in salt, and above all, it was FATTY. They're full of fat in that restaurant. It wasn't olive oil, but some other oil, and it was smothered in plenty. The balsamic dressing we ordered was nowhere to be found. The tomato had been in the fridge for at least 6 days, but that could have been due to the Easter holidays. All in all, never 4.6 stars.
Stars in the sky? Pff – here they are on the plate!
The Great Crested Grebe is so close to Lake Tegernsee that you could almost dangle your feet in the water while eating. And while you're sitting there and the view elicits the first "wow" from you, the kitchen follows up - with a "Wow", "Oida!" and by the third course at the latest, an awestruck “How cool is that?!”
What comes out of the kitchen is great cinema.
Tim Raue? Nice guy,
Craftsmanship, creativity, deluxe taste explosions – this is not a kitchen, this is a celebration.
We particularly celebrated the boss, who came over in person with his colleague with small sauces.
Who needs potions when you can get a sauce like that?
Plus explanations, a smile, a little joke from the kitchen – Michelin skills.
Service? Top. Mood? Relaxed and warm.
Conclusion? The Haubis just have it. Thank you for this sensational evening, we will definitely be back!
Culinary greetings from uss Kölle – stay as brilliant as you are!
We were full of anticipation and excitement that we would be dining at this trendy restaurant this evening. But as is sometimes the case: the actions we are particularly looking forward to are not necessarily the ones that make our hearts beat faster.
Some dishes were only lukewarm, the wine was "interesting" and the service left a lot to be desired. We had imagined it differently.
I do not often write negative reviews, but I did not like the food quality in comparison with the very high prices.
It may be my personal opinion, so I will report few facts. I took the “Perlhuhn” (guinea fowl), the price for this main dish is 29€, the meat was served with the skin of the fowl and with a sauce on it (picture). In my opinion the skin should be removed before serving it. Regardless of the skin, I find such a simple dish with minimal vegetables and apple sauce not to be worth the price.
My fiancé was satisfied with the spring rolls.
Additionally we ordered the cheeses plate as dessert, the quantity was minimal for 17€ dessert, i.e. three cheese pieces.
The service was very good.
I am gluten-intolerant and they have gluten-free options.
Overall I do not recommend.
I've been there several times and the food has always been good and there's a great weekly menu. This doesn't seem to exist anymore and unfortunately the food was very bad.
