Brüderla in Bamberg

That didn't work for us! I ordered the roast pork and asked if it was two dumplings. I was told they could add an extra one, but in the end I had three, since two are standard. The woman could have said that directly. Well, they could have saved the third dumpling, because it wasn't tasty! It didn't have a proper consistency; it was incredibly floury and mushy, tasted of nothing. The roast pork might just not have been my cup of tea, but it was EXTREMELY fatty, nothing like a schnitzel. It was significantly more overcooked. There were also individual bones around the edges. Very unappetizing. My friend had a turkey salad, and that was the icing on the cake. It was completely lacking in salt, and above all, it was FATTY. They're full of fat in that restaurant. It wasn't olive oil, but some other oil, and it was smothered in plenty. The balsamic dressing we ordered was nowhere to be found. The tomato had been in the fridge for at least 6 days, but that could have been due to the Easter holidays. All in all, never 4.6 stars.

Great beer, very friendly staff and great food in a top location. Here you are always in the middle of the action and right next to the old town hall bridge. As a little tip: If the bridge is very busy and people are queuing for a drink, you can always get something to-go here for a reasonable price a few meters away.

Went spontaneously to Brüderla yesterday and luckily got a table for two people without a reservation. Very nice service who recommends the right drink to go with the food, such as beer and wine. The food was incredibly tasty and I can only recommend it. Price/performance is top.

We ate pan-fried meat and Currywurst. The meat was ok. However, the Currywurst is unfortunately a poor quality Bockwurst, with the sauce completely killing the taste. A big plus for the fries because they were made from fresh potatoes, not frozen. Beer is good.

Be sure to reserve in advance if you want to eat at regular times and there are more than two people. A really nice, clean restaurant that has a healthy mix of old and new, with a view of Bamberg's town hall (Wow!). The service is top, on the ball and really very friendly. The home-brewed beer 🍺 (bro beer) is damn tasty! The food was ok, but next time we would choose differently. The crusty roast was quite firm and the meat plate was just too meat loaf-heavy. The salad was fresh and the bread was perfect.

Ambiance is nice and friendly service. However, only the meat and bread were edible. The advertised beer sauce that came with it was a slimy, tasteless mass and the potato dumplings were cold and tasted watery. We complained about it and new dumplings were brought with the same sauce and the dumplings were no better. However, we were offered an espresso as an apology. Beer was again very good 👍

Rustic, but modernly furnished restaurant, with very tasty dishes that are not too much and not too little on the plate. The naturally cloudy shandy tastes great. At peak times, eating can take 5-10 minutes longer, but you're happy to accept that. Overall, a neat and clean store with friendly staff.

Visited on March 4, 2025 Chic furnishings that make you feel very comfortable. No old-fashioned facility. Courteous service staff. I can recommend this restaurant. There will also be outdoor management in the summer. Maybe I'll visit the restaurant again in the summer.

A nice, young brewery with a delicious selection of beers. The ambience seems more modern than classic for a brewery, but for me personally it is a bit uncomfortable. The menu is very manageable and, this is probably a matter of taste, the dishes didn't quite meet my taste, nor did my wife's. The service was quick, friendly and impeccable, price performance is okay.

Not again. The schnitzel is soaked with fat and the potato salad is out of the bucket. The currywurst came and I immediately saw it it wasn't fried for long. Confirmation at the first bite. It was still cold inside. I took them back to the kitchen to finish frying. After 4 minutes she came back and wasn't any better. Only the plate was nice and warm. The microwave should probably do that.

We were at Brüderla last week, there was delicious food and a very tasty beer. The people are cool and nice, we really liked that.

Went there on a cold Saturday. Wasn’t busy. We got a great table with a view of the old Rathaus. To my surprise, the prices weren’t high, despite the place being like a perfect tourist trap. Not at all. Good food, served fast by a friendly team. Great job.

Highly recommended. Super fast service, nice little menu, honest recommendations. All of this in a modern, cozy atmosphere. Beer is good anyway, because Franconia can hardly do anything else. We'd love to come back!

I came to Bamberg at the invitation of Prof.'s Mosaic association. Dipietri, to present my book "I survivor" (Einaudi). At the end of the presentation we came to have dinner at this place: excellent beer and delicious food! The staff is very friendly and attentive!

Overall food and atmosphere was not bad however the portion split between plates was not really satisfactory; My friends had 2/3 pieces of meat, I had only a small one and they told me “maybe the weight is higher on your plate” but clearly wasn’t. Except this the beer set was nice.

Don't let the inconspicuous entrance next to the café fool you! Here you can expect friendly service, a great ambience and good beer! We spontaneously stopped here for a late lunch. The drinks were ordered quickly and we only waited a short while at the table and for the delicious food. We will definitely come back here again!

Service is top knotch by the female staff with curly hair, I would give her 10 stars if possible. Food were very tasty. We didn’t take long time to get our order. My husband ordered the Franconian meal (forgot to take picture) and he enjoyed every bits of it. My son ordered Cordon Blue and he loves his food. Highly recommended.

We started the evening at the restaurant with great expectations after reading the reviews. Beer and food are known to be a matter of taste. Unfortunately, neither the beer tasting set nor the food were really convincing. Of the last 5 restaurant visits, this was the weakest. The price was okay, but the taste was better. The cheese spaetzle was just “okay”, as was the cordon bleu. Honestly couldn't understand the hype.

The Jacob's crowning glory of gastronomy The finest draft beer on Mondays and Wednesdays at a very fair price of 3 euros never fails to enchant me. If I had to compare the Brüderla with a car, I would choose a tuned Porsche with 750 hp and full equipment! (TÜV new) All joking aside:-) Simply a super cool restaurant with delicious food and excellent 🍺

Very friendly and fast staff. Convenient reservation possible via the website. Pleasant atmosphere. The range of vegan dishes is also very commendable, not a given in a typical Franconian restaurant. The food was also very tasty, only the portion size (cheese spaetzle) could have been a little larger for my taste (or the price a little lower for the size). There is only one cubicle available in the men's toilet, you may have to queue here, which is a bit inconvenient.

Not open to criticism! After harmless criticism (Schöufwle catastrophic, - too small and dish not appropriate for the region! The boss was not capable of criticism and kicked us out!!!

Beer delicious, food not so good 😕. We ate there two days ago, also because of the reviews. Rolled roast was too salty and dry; Crusty roast was too fatty. Food including dumplings would also have to be hotter when served!

Briefly my impressions. There is room for improvement here. The staff is super friendly and committed. Unfortunately we had the table in the passage. It's cold, drafty and loud there and the smells of the toilets below the passage waft up behind your back. After the entrance there is a kind of stand-up snack bar with a dart board. It is correspondingly loud here and the door to the outside often opens and closes, bringing noise and cold air with it. So nothing you would want at a cozy dinner with friends. The food was average at best. The salad was fresh, but the dressing, if you could call it that, was bland and unimaginative. I didn't like the consistency of the fries at all, they were soggy on the inside and in combination with the mustard and mayo sachets that were on the plate, it had more of the charm of a simple bistro. The Cordon Bleu was good, but a slightly better and spicier cheese would have been good here. The beer is also good, although the in-house BRO beer didn't blow me away. But here you can also order a special, so it's all good... It's a shame... we expected more based on the mostly good reviews. The second star was awarded due to the very personable and friendly service provided by the young team. Thanks again for that.

Stylishly renovated inn within historic walls - kitchen with room for improvement Despite its location right next to the fruit market, during my visit on All Saints' Day I met mostly local guests of all stripes who had obviously made themselves comfortable in the rustic inn despite being renovated. With the foresight, I reserved a place for lunch, which is definitely recommended on weekends and public holidays. The young team takes impeccable care of its guests, even if there are still a bit of jerks at times, for example. B. the used dishes are lifted out with a slight delay. As the necessary patina develops in the rooms, the employees will also gain routine. In any case, I felt very comfortable and well looked after throughout my entire stay, from the greeting to the farewell. The menu, which can also be accessed on the otherwise very spartan website, is quite manageable, which I generally prefer to have an overloaded selection of dishes. With a small standard offering, I always look forward to additional dishes that are available temporarily or seasonally. Bamberg cuisine also has a lot to offer. I still remember the very tasty Metzel soup, which even found its way into Munich restaurants until the mid-1990s. You can find numerous inspirations on the Internet under “Specialties from the Upper Franconian gourmet region.” In the “Wirtshaus von BroBier” various types of beer are of course served, all of which are probably of high quality, as one would expect here. In any case, I had nothing wrong with the red beer I chose. Wine drinkers don't have to give up their enjoyment completely and, with three whites, a rosé and a red from Ippesheim, they don't have to spend long until they find the right one. The range of grape juices could possibly be supplemented with wine from the Wagner winery in the easternmost wine-growing region of Franconia from Staffelbach in the Bamberg district in Upper Franconia. The prices for food and drinks are definitely not unreasonable. Because Schäuferla couldn't be found on the menu, even though it's actually part of baby food in Upper and Middle Franconia, I opted for the crusted roast, which definitely lived up to its name visually and acoustically. I also had no complaints about the taste of the entire dish. Even with the savoy cabbage (which is spelled that way not only here but throughout Bavaria, but also in Wirsching) you could sense that the chef didn't hold back unnecessarily when it came to seasoning, as was also evident in the strong sauce. Unfortunately, the Trumm meat looked juicier than it appeared when consumed: not really dry, but still so firm that one or two bites could only be metabolized with some effort. The quality of the product and/or the preparation could be improved here. But I had no immediate reason to complain and the small pieces of meat that I sent back to the sender were very manageable. You won't find any desserts on the menu. However, I think the demand will be manageable and I would rather have nothing but poor finished products. When time comes, dessert comes, I guess. Williams at the end was no revelation. I like it when fine spirits are carried down the throat by the devil in velvet trousers. But his pants don't have to be washed in fabric softener. The “Brüderla” fits very well with this beautiful city and its extraordinary atmosphere, which you can enjoy all year round. I will therefore be happy to come here again and hope to be able to give it full points.

We were a group of 10 people who ended up here after a typical day in Bamberg. The service was top. Fast and friendly. The food was also very good, with something for everyone (vegans, vegetarians and lovers of Franconian cuisine). I've also never eaten such good fries. There is a great selection of beers from the in-house brewery. Here too, the ProBierSet is highly recommended. The schnapps in the schnapps ladle were also a dream 😉 We'd love to come back. Classic meets modern! At first glance it's a traditional Franconian beer hall. However, the ambience is different. Good classic rock from the speakers. Casual tone. In addition to the (tasty) Franconian classics, there are also vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. The beers are delicious. My favorite was the slightly bitter Kellerbier. I'd love to come back!

The Brüderla is a cozy restaurant that is ideal for celebrating with a group (12 people). The food was okay, the service was super nice.

We were there for lunch today. Table reservation via the app was uncomplicated. However, our table was in the middle of the aisle and because the entrance door was always open, we were constantly sitting in the cold draft. We also had to wait an hour and a half for food. When I asked (after 1 hour) how long our meal would last, they said 5 minutes, but the 5 minutes turned into almost 30 minutes. The price-performance ratio was highly praised online, which is why we chose this restaurant. However, we were not satisfied with it. For almost 18 euros a cordon blue without salad, the quantity was just enough and the meat was bone dry. The pan schnitzel was also more than done. The staff was friendly. But we were still disappointed.

This is a young crew, very hardworking and friendly. Due to the high volume of guests, you have to bring some time. But the food was very good and the full beer was really awesome. Recommended in our opinion.

I ordered a crusty roast and received a Schäuferla without asking. I don't think that's right. There were no pasta dishes either, even though they were on the menu and shortly after opening. But I had a Schäuferla, which is a roast in Franconia without cooking. I also have other guests who can confirm that I had a Schäuferla and not a roast.

Went here spontaneously, don't let the inconspicuous entrance put you off. Ambiance is modern and really good. Very good service and good beer (Brobier). We would be happy to come back here.👍🏻

Very nice restaurant located in the city center with the possibility of sitting outside! The staff/service was very, very friendly and attentive, despite the fact that all the tables outside were occupied and he had to take care of everyone! We had the CordonBleu twice with fries, which was also offered with potato salad. The fries were homemade, the CordonBleu was very well filled and there was ketchup and mayonnaise on each side. The food and drinks were very, very tasty and at local prices! On another visit to the Brüderla we had the crusty roast with dumplings and savoy cabbage (normally there are 2 dumplings, but I canceled one because I don't eat that much!) We can only recommend the "Brüderla" and would be happy to come back!

Nice inn with typical brewery dishes....good value for money....very friendly service....unfortunately no desserts...unfortunately the coffee machine was also broken that evening. Pan-fried schnitzel with fries is highly recommended.
