Brüderla in Bamberg

There were four of us for dinner: two roast pork, a turkey schnitzel, and a cordon bleu. The roast pork was underseasoned, the potato salad had no salt and a very odd consistency, and the savoy cabbage wasn't seasoned at all. The other dishes were okay. After consulting the very friendly staff, we were given a free drink. Thank you for that! Otherwise, it's in the heart of the city, quaint and cozy.

Great restaurant with delicious, home-style cooking and good value for money. The menu isn't long, but there's certainly something for every taste, including vegetarians and vegans. The staff was very attentive and accommodating to special requests. A funny but also delicious idea: try the "Brüderla Krügla" :-)

The cordon bleu was tough, the ham rather bland. There was little potato salad. We had to find space ourselves. Not a second time!

Unfortunately, the vegan menu has been reduced. There's no longer any meatloaf or potato salad. We had vegan currywurst with fries, but the fries were unfortunately really soft and quite greasy. The curry sauce was good, as was the cabbage and bread with my vegan bratwurst. Service was friendly and attentive, and the beer selection was delicious.

Great food, nice atmosphere, not very accommodating service. They announce that you're coming in a group, all of which are announced in advance, but after an hour they tell you that they're no longer serving alcoholic drinks. We're obviously in a pub and didn't get drunk. The way it's written here makes it hard to believe, of course, but it's true. (I've seen English pubs in the past.) You're warned from the start to be quiet. Honestly, that's nonsense, they weren't in the mood to deal with us. Greetings✌️

We spent the whole day looking for a delicious meal and finally stopped by here at the end of the day. At first, we have to admit we were a bit skeptical because the fries looked like sweet potato fries, but in the end, we were proven wrong. The food was absolutely amazing, and the staff was very attentive and incredibly friendly. We'd love to come back 💪🏻

A very lively restaurant. Due to the bar staff (mostly friends of the waiter), it can be quite loud and hectic at times. It didn't bother us much... Service was friendly and mostly attentive. The food and drinks were very good. The value for money was okay.

Great place! The beer is very good. We were there on a Tuesday, and after 7 p.m., the beer costs only €3 a half liter. The staff is very friendly and not pushy. I highly recommend it!

A friendly team that attentively attends to guests. Even when the restaurant is full, the service is smooth and fast. Prices are absolutely reasonable, and the beer is extremely tasty. The schnitzel and cordon bleu were very good. The meat was tender and flavorful, not over-seasoned, and not too greasy. Unfortunately, the homemade French fries were a different story. Dark, greasy, and totally soft and mushy. Unfortunately, they weren't enjoyable. Even the wait staff's explanation that they're made from raw potatoes didn't help. You expect crispy and juicy French fries. That's a matter of taste, of course, but it probably felt that way for several guests, as we noticed that many guests in the restaurant left plenty of fries left over when clearing up. There's definitely room for improvement here.

The atmosphere at Brüderla is, of course, top-notch! The food came quickly, and while the selection wasn't exactly typical Franconian, it was okay. The waiter asked us to keep our voices down... Sorry, when there are ten of us and the place is full, the conversation gets a bit loud. I'm not sure what to say.

A traditional Franconian inn with great beers. Modern yet classic decor. Here you can enjoy good beers, classic Franconian food, and simply have a good time. Service is always attentive and friendly. Our dog had a great time here, too.

Very nice, modern restaurant with good service. But unfortunately, the food was anything but good. The meat was very poorly heated (in both dishes). I had spare ribs from the daily special, which were very watery and only lukewarm, and with very little meat.

Very nice location. The staff was super friendly and efficient. The hut was packed, so the food took a little longer to arrive—but that didn't bother us because we had plenty of time. The food was delicious. There was a huge bowl of water for our dogs. Dogs are welcome here.

Wow! Great luck finding this spot. After walking down the famous street full of overcrowded breweries and overpriced food, we noticed this small unpretentious venue serving flights of beers, so we stopped and grabbed a table out front. Huda waited on us. She was awesome. I'm not usually very impressed with service in Germany, but she is exceptional. Prompt, professional, and friendly. We shared a Bratwurst plate and schnitzel, both of which were great. I loved their beers too, especially the Weissbier.

A cozy restaurant with exceptionally friendly and attentive staff. The food was okay. For the salad, given its price, we would have preferred a better dressing and no salad (open the bag and you're done). Even though there was still some tomato on it, the thick pieces of the stalk weren't suitable for a salad. The homemade fries were very dark, but tasty.

No people, but all reserved. Staff just don’t work and get money. We tried to get fast snack and beer.

Modern, cute, beautiful restaurant with delicious traditional but also a good selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Very nice staff. We had to wait a short time for a table, everything was well occupied. It was not possible to reserve in advance. Different types of beer, also as a float to try out. We ordered a crusty roast and a schnitzel. The food was on the table a few minutes later. It was lukewarm and tasted like it had been reheated. It was probably kept warm for a long time. The roast pork was tough and the schnitzel was dry. After 4-5 hours we got a severe stomach flu. One can only speculate about the connection. We've never had such bad local food before. Very unfortunate.

Very nice staff, food was ok too. Unfortunately no homemade potato salad. Beer selection is great, with its own ProBier offer. It's expensive for wine drinkers here - 0.2l for €6.40, which is really awesome for me, but you're supposed to drink the beer. If the wine were a little cheaper, I would come more often because of the ambience and the friendly staff.

I had a really great stay at this place! The location is simply perfect – central and easily accessible, which makes the visit particularly pleasant. I would particularly like to praise the nice waitress Hanna. She was super friendly, attentive and made our visit even more pleasant. I'll definitely be back and can only recommend the restaurant!

Five stars for the beer advice, the beer and a very attentive service staff who are present without being intrusive. The restaurant is also great, but unfortunately it's not very inviting from the outside and we weren't even sure if it was open. This could easily be improved with light, color and greenery. Four stars for the narrow menu and the display of the food, the taste was better than it was presented on the plate. Solid stuff, the brothers.

We only had a short stay, but it's definitely worth staying longer. The food was good and plentiful, the beer was excellent. I really like the idea of ​​the BroBier board. What was particularly noteworthy was the service. Friendly, unobtrusive, but still warm. We felt very comfortable and would like to come again.

We were here with friends on a Friday evening. What can I say, very pleasantly surprised. We had made a reservation, which was necessary, the restaurant was very busy. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our place. Within a very short time the menu was at the table and shortly afterwards the drinks were at the table. The food was also picked up quickly and, despite different dishes, we managed to have everything at the table at the same time. Really great class. The schnitzel and the fries were really great, I've rarely had a better meal, big praise for the kitchen. The dessert also came quickly, but unfortunately it was a bit too sweet in my opinion. We were asked 3 times during our stay whether everything was okay or whether we wanted to order anything else. The whole thing is not intrusive, but very subtle. All in all a great visit, with good beer and good food. Big extra praise to the service and the kitchen, keep it up. We'll definitely be back.

We sat outside very nicely and the service was super nice. Unfortunately, the meat pan and chicken breast salad were not convincing.

That was nothing for us! I ordered the crusted roast and asked if it was two dumplings. I was told they could add one extra, I ended up with 3 as two are standard. The woman could have said it directly. Well, you could have saved yourself the third dumpling because it didn't taste good! It wasn't a real consistency, it was brutally floury and mushy and didn't taste like anything. The crusty roast was perhaps just not my cup of tea, but it was EXTREMELY greasy, no comparison with a Schäufala. Much more finished again. There were also individual pieces of bone on the edge. Very unsavory. My girlfriend had a salad with turkey and that was the cherry on top. There was a huge lack of salt, and above all, it was greasy. They have a lot of fat in the restaurant. It wasn't olive oil but some other oil and there was plenty of it on it. We searched in vain for the balsamic dressing we ordered. The tomato was in the fridge for at least 6 days, but that could be due to the Easter holidays. all in all never 4.6 stars.

Great little brewery and restaurant with super-friendly bros as hosts.

Great beer, very friendly staff and great food in a top location. Here you are always in the middle of the action and right next to the old town hall bridge. As a little tip: If the bridge is very busy and people are queuing for a drink, you can always get something to-go here for a reasonable price a few meters away.

Nice restaurant with delicious food, not only Franconian but also alternatives without meat. A good selection of delicious beers, brewed locally in a small brewery, round off the great Brüderla gastronomy. Highly recommended!!

Grundsätzlich ein interessantes Lokal mit guter Auswahl an Fassbieren. Auch das Essen war in Ordnung. Allerdings irritiert das Verhalten des Chefs gegenüber den Gästen und dem Personal. Sehr barsches Auftreten und es wurden Tische als besetzt deklariert, die während des gesamten Aufenthaltes frei geblieben sind.

We ate pan-fried meat and Currywurst. The meat was ok. However, the Currywurst is unfortunately a poor quality Bockwurst, with the sauce completely killing the taste. A big plus for the fries because they were made from fresh potatoes, not frozen. Beer is good.

Went spontaneously to Brüderla yesterday and luckily got a table for two people without a reservation. Very nice service who recommends the right drink to go with the food, such as beer and wine. The food was incredibly tasty and I can only recommend it. Price/performance is top.

Be sure to reserve in advance if you want to eat at regular times and there are more than two people. A really nice, clean restaurant that has a healthy mix of old and new, with a view of Bamberg's town hall (Wow!). The service is top, on the ball and really very friendly. The home-brewed beer 🍺 (bro beer) is damn tasty! The food was ok, but next time we would choose differently. The crusty roast was quite firm and the meat plate was just too meat loaf-heavy. The salad was fresh and the bread was perfect.

Very nice service staff. The cordon bleu in particular was very good and really crispy. The selection of beers was very varied.

Ambiance is nice and friendly service. However, only the meat and bread were edible. The advertised beer sauce that came with it was a slimy, tasteless mass and the potato dumplings were cold and tasted watery. We complained about it and new dumplings were brought with the same sauce and the dumplings were no better. However, we were offered an espresso as an apology. Beer was again very good 👍

Rustic, but modernly furnished restaurant, with very tasty dishes that are not too much and not too little on the plate. The naturally cloudy shandy tastes great. At peak times, eating can take 5-10 minutes longer, but you're happy to accept that. Overall, a neat and clean store with friendly staff.

Visited on March 4, 2025 Chic furnishings that make you feel very comfortable. No old-fashioned facility. Courteous service staff. I can recommend this restaurant. There will also be outdoor management in the summer. Maybe I'll visit the restaurant again in the summer.

A nice, young brewery with a delicious selection of beers. The ambience seems more modern than classic for a brewery, but for me personally it is a bit uncomfortable. The menu is very manageable and, this is probably a matter of taste, the dishes didn't quite meet my taste, nor did my wife's. The service was quick, friendly and impeccable, price performance is okay.

Not again. The schnitzel is soaked with fat and the potato salad is out of the bucket. The currywurst came and I immediately saw it it wasn't fried for long. Confirmation at the first bite. It was still cold inside. I took them back to the kitchen to finish frying. After 4 minutes she came back and wasn't any better. Only the plate was nice and warm. The microwave should probably do that.

We were at Brüderla last week, there was delicious food and a very tasty beer. The people are cool and nice, we really liked that.

Went there on a cold Saturday. Wasn’t busy. We got a great table with a view of the old Rathaus. To my surprise, the prices weren’t high, despite the place being like a perfect tourist trap. Not at all. Good food, served fast by a friendly team. Great job.

Highly recommended. Super fast service, nice little menu, honest recommendations. All of this in a modern, cozy atmosphere. Beer is good anyway, because Franconia can hardly do anything else. We'd love to come back!

I came to Bamberg at the invitation of Prof.'s Mosaic association. Dipietri, to present my book "I survivor" (Einaudi). At the end of the presentation we came to have dinner at this place: excellent beer and delicious food! The staff is very friendly and attentive!

Overall food and atmosphere was not bad however the portion split between plates was not really satisfactory; My friends had 2/3 pieces of meat, I had only a small one and they told me “maybe the weight is higher on your plate” but clearly wasn’t. Except this the beer set was nice.
