Creative, high-quality pub cuisine in a friendly atmosphere and at reasonable prices The restaurant "Die Küchen", which describes itself as a "dining room", is located in the middle of Bamberg's bar district and, with its unique character, stands out clearly from other restaurants in the old town. The name says it all and the name fits The focus on the independent kitchen is also reflected in the dining room: Here you feel like you are with friends at the dining table. This concept fits perfectly with the diverse audience, most of whom come from the region and are of different ages. The relaxed atmosphere is further emphasized by the absence of the formal “you”. I felt completely comfortable throughout my entire visit and received excellent care from the friendly service team from the moment I greeted you to the moment I left. Clear map and flexible menu composition The menu is partially renewed every month and remains deliberately manageable. It offers the opportunity to put together a menu with up to four courses. However, most guests opt for a combination of starter and main course, possibly supplemented by dessert. If you choose four courses with all the trimmings, the price is already in the fine dining range. For a three-course menu with a complete drink accompaniment you should budget around 100 euros per person. Wine selection with potential The selection of wines by the glass is also limited, with a clear bias towards South African wines – presumably due to historical ties. Personally, I would have preferred wines from Franconia or Europe, especially since wine is now grown in the Bamberg district. Nevertheless, the prices for the wines are fair. Food: High quality, but with small weaknesses Maybe I was just unlucky with my choice: unlike the other guests, my dishes were not served under a smoking bell, but simply presented. Although the plates were presented attractively and unpretentiously, the black cutlery and crockery - apparently part of the corporate identity - did not always harmonize with the food. The kitchen offers attractive home-made creations and individually interpreted classics. The Franconian organic Pinot Blanc proved to be a versatile companion for the entire evening. Detailed evaluation of the dishes • Tartare as a starter: The tartare was excellently seasoned and garnished with a perfectly poached quail egg. Caper apples and baked anchovies formed the entourage. The latter, wrapped in dough, only convinced me to a limited extent as their intense taste dominated the tender beef. Additionally, I personally would have preferred to see the caper buds rather than their fruits. Nevertheless, the dish was overall a success - as we all know, taste is subjective. • Maultaschen as an intermediate course: These were more reminiscent of ravioli, but like the minced deer meat inside, they were a bit too al dente. As a result, the dough and filling separated after the first split with the fork. Maybe a little lardo could round out the taste of the venison and make it more supple. However, there was no reason to criticize the taste. • Sea bass with mussels: The fillet was cooked to perfection, but it will never match a fish that has been fried or grilled whole. The mussels themselves also offered no reason for complaint. However, the perfect harmony between fish and shellfish was missing. Larger quantities of mussels would have been better suited as a stand-alone starter. The carrots, rustically cut into brunoise, were too raw for my taste, but the overall taste of the dish was convincing. Perfect ending A first-class espresso and a smooth grappa rounded off the evening in style. Conclusion The price-performance ratio is consistent. Overall, I can recommend the restaurant “Die Küche” with a clear conscience and would happily come here again.

Absolutely fine cuisine with top service.

The place is awesome. The food tastes excellent and is prepared with attention to detail. Every course is a pleasure. The service is always courteous but never intrusive. The furnishings are rather purist and simple, but that doesn't bother you at all. On the contrary. This means the focus falls even more on the wonderful creations of the kitchen. The wine recommendation also harmonized wonderfully with the food. We had a few enjoyable hours and will definitely come back. Thank you.

We were in the kitchen - dining room Bamberg before a concert in the Bamberg concert hall and this restaurant is absolutely recommended. The restaurant is a few minutes away from the concert hall. The food is internationally oriented and meets the highest standards. So if you want Franconian cuisine, you've come to the wrong place. There are enough other restaurants in Bamberg for that. The service is very good. You should definitely make a reservation. The map is not big. But that's not necessary since it changes every few weeks. Conclusion: The restaurant is worth a visit.

Bei jedem Bamberg Besuch sind wir Gast hier und wurden noch nie enttäuscht. Sehr freundlicher Service, exzellente Küche, nettes kleines gemütliches Lokal und immer war das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis absolut in Ordnung. Am Wochenende solte man unbedingt reservieren oder schon um 17.30 Uhr da sein. Oftmals hat man Glück und bekommt noch einen Tisch, sollte jedoch um 19.15 Uhr ans gehen denken. Kleines, aber fantastisches Restaurant mit einem wunderschönen Ambiente. Wir waren schon von der Einrichtung sehr begeistert. Die Speisekarte ist überschaubar, aber die Gerichte sind super lecker und wir haben verschiedene Gerichte ausprobiert. Auch die Weinkarte ist klein, aber sehr fein. Eine tolle kleine Auswahl an südafrikanischen Weinen, wir lieben südafrikanischen Wein. Der Service war auch sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Wir haben einen wunderbaren Abend im Restaurant verbracht. Weiter so.

Ich habe lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen! Ich würde Sterne vergeben für das, was ich doer genossen habe. Alles war ein Geschmackserlebins: Angefangen mit dem Rindertartat, der Lammhüfte und letztlich das einmalige Dessert. Es ist teuer aber jeden Euro wert.

My wife and I visited Bamberg for the first time and, after various visits to a few restaurants, where, due to the tradition in this region, the food is pretty hearty, we were looking for a slightly lighter version. Here in the dining room we finally found ours Search rewarded. Due to our Francophile orientation, we found certain parallels again. A very imaginative preparation paired with very friendly service. The menu was kept small, but this also indicates the regular change and speaks for the quality of the operator. The ambience is great not in the foreground here, but that doesn't detract from the whole thing. In my opinion, it's a young team that puts the focus on the dishes on offer and not on the external appearance. Keep it up!

A great cozy restaurant. The service is impressive right from the start. The manageable menu changes monthly. Regional and modern cuisine. The dishes are sophisticated and beautifully prepared. It is a high priced restaurant but the prices are justified.

A pleasant alternative to the terrible food normally offered in Bamberg's old town. The look is exemplary, the products are good. The effort to create an unusual presentation and composition is clearly visible. For two people 150€ without wine accompaniment is just bearable. A slightly larger card is required. The effort to emphasize taste could be more pronounced.

This was our third time there and I can only recommend it. The food there is really amazing. There really is a lot of emphasis on quality here. The service is always very polite and courteous. In summary: You can't do it better. We are already looking forward to the next visit!

We were immediately informed at the beginning that the concept of the house was based on three to four courses and that the portions would be correspondingly small. This statement is completely true. Each course costs around 16 to 30 euros, which only partially matches the quality and service. For well over 100 euros you can get a menu from a star chef. The prices here are clearly too high and the menu is not very balanced. For us, the only meat dish listed as the main course was turkey - that's just not enough! The food was good but nothing more...

Wir haben den Abend „ in der Küche“ sehr genossen: das ist definitiv eine Alternative zum fränkischen Wirtshaus. Die Karte ist dem Konzept entsprechend überschaubar, aber jedes einzelne Gericht ist spannend. Bei fünf Personen hatten wir einen leckeren Querschnitt und alle waren begeistert. Auch die sympathische Bedienung trägt genauso wie das Ambiente zu einem rundum gelungenen Erlebnis bei. Preislich eher gehoben, aber seinen Preis definitiv wert!

Thoroughly enjoyed the food at Die Kuche. They change their menu regularly. We had the beef tartar and swordfish appetizers followed by flank steak and salmon. For dessert we had the caramel white chocolate. All selections were delicious. Service was great as well. Would definitely go back to try other offerings if we ever make it back to Bamberg.

What a great meal. I had three courses (dim sum, salmon, lemon) and the delicious bread and everything was so tasty. The lemon was an especially fresh way to end the meal. For food of such quality and precision the prices are fair. I opted for the local beer which was also extremely good. All in all a really excellent meal.

This afternoon I bumped into the blonde waitress. The remaining food from the plates spilled over my dress. Instead of apologizing, she just looked at me very upset and ran away! You can't speak of a trained service here! I just expected her to apologize and maybe bring me a cloth. I haven't seen anything so unfriendly in a long time. Wrong job chosen!

Great address for high-quality and modern cuisine! Mixture of European and especially Japanese cuisine. The portions are appropriate so that you can eat more than just two. Everything was beautifully presented and the PLV was excellent. I would particularly like to highlight the service. Good wine knowledge: Our corked bottle was noticed by the waiter before we said anything and a new one was brought. Furthermore, all dishes were explained and he was always attentive at all times. We'd love to come back!

The food is very good and the service is super friendly. I doubt whether the concept of having to eat three or four courses is enough for a normal amount of dinner for every guest. But everyone should decide that for themselves.

We had a great evening. The service was great, exactly what I want. Relaxed, courteous, attentive. I think the idea with the oysters is great. Gladly again next year. The atmosphere is very, very nice, good lighting conditions, small and fine. Unfortunately, the food (starter and main course) didn't excite me. The tartare was very cleanly seasoned - if it was our own creation - I would like it to be on the menu too. I would have liked a raw egg and a little spiciness (more classic). For the main course we had venison, which was cooked extremely well. Unfortunately, the red cabbage puree was too sweet for me, it was very dominant on the plate and I had to eat it separately and couldn't put it on a fork with the other foods. Unfortunately the tart was bland. For dessert we had a cheese plate. Unfortunately the Brie was flavored with garlic (that was said) but I personally don't like flavored cheese - personal taste.

Selbst die Verabschiedung war sehr herzlich. Besser kann man es eigentlich nicht machen! Nun zur Küche: Was das Ambiente und der Service versprochen haben wurde bei jedem einzelnen Gericht eingehalten, ich möchte fast sagen übertroffen. Tolle Kombinationen, Konsistenzen und Aromen spielen hier mit den Augen und der Zunge ein perfektes Spiel. Liebevoll angerichtet, gegart, abgeschmeckt. Es gibt wirklich nichts zu meckern. So toll habe ich lange nicht gegessen und schon garnicht hier in der Nähe. Beim Verabschieden sahen wir das gesamte Team noch vor der Tür sitzen, was einem zeigt, dass hier wirklich ein Team hinter dem Konzept steht. Einfach klasse hier. Drei Gänge voller Überraschungen und toller Wein. Sehr nette junge und aufmerksame Leute.

Die Karte ist über Vorspeise, Hauptgericht und Dessert aufgebaut. Es erfolgte der Hinweis, auch als Menü würden die Portionen alle nacheinander zu schaffen sein... DAS STIMMT! Ich bestellte Butternusskürbis, mit gebratenem Radicchio und Feigen, ein HAUPTGERICHT. Was serviert wurde, war optisch ein Kunstwerk - aber für 22€ eine Portion "nur für den hohlen Zahn..." Wer Hunger hat sollte entweder alles bestellen - und mit deutlich(!) leichterer Geldbörse das Lokal verlassen, oder anderswo einkehren, wo Essen als Genuss, der satt macht, serviert wird. Die drei Sterne sind Ambiente, Service und Kunstfertigkeit des Kochs gewidmet.

Absolut überteuert! Weder Qualität noch Quantität der Speisen und Getränke rechtfertigen solche Preise. Statt eines "Grußes aus der Küche" gibt es einen Intro-Gang, den man bezahlen muss! Ambiente mag vielleicht Bamberger Stadt-Schickeria und IKEA-Bildungsbürgertum gefallen, mir nicht.

Moderne junge Kreative Küche mitten in Bamberg. Der Service war überaus freundlich. Wir hatten das Menü mit Fleisch. Die Vorspeise war eine Geschmacksexplosion. Beim Hauptgericht war das Fleisch ziemlich zäh. Vielleicht sollte es so sein. Für meinen Geschmack musste ich zu viel darauf rumkauen. Der Nachtisch war hervorragend.

Die mittlerweile sechs Jahre alte Küche ist eines der besten Restaurants, die wir kennen. Qualität und Kreativität gehen hier in eine Küche ein, die Spaß macht. Mit einer monatlich wechselnden Karte kann man mindestens zwölf mal im Jahr hier einkehren. Und eigentlich öfter, denn es gibt natürlich eine Auswahl. Das Ambiente ist der Qualität angemessen: schön, ohne elitär zu sein. Der nette und kompetente Staff tut ein Übriges, um seinen Gästen ein besonderes kulinarisches Erlebnis zu bereiten. Unverständlich, dass die Küche noch auf Stern und Kochmütze warten muss.

Essen war sehr gut - der Preis aber trotzdem etwas hoch. Man sitzt im Sommer traumhaft schön gegenüber der Elisabethenkirche. Service hat zwar alles schön erklärt, aber das teilweise so schnell runtergerattert, dass es schwer war zu folgen...

Viel zu hochgelobt. Ich war gestern zum Essen dort. Als ich gesehen habe wie eine Köchin nachdem Sie mit einen Spritzbeutel einen Kleks auf einen Teller machte, sich die Finger ableckte und dann mit diesen Fingern das Fleisch auf den Teller zurechtgerückt hat. Nein Danke.

Really interesting and inspirational cooking, in a simple and reasonably priced restaurant, located in the tourist heart of Bamberg.

This is a small restaurant and quite a surprise for a German smaller town. Very creative menu, all dishes in excellent preparation, including vegetarian options. Good service. The menu is small and changes frequently, prices are adequate. Two small nitpicks - dessert prices are a bit too high, and the same applies for the wines. We thus chose beer. Reservation advisable.

Had three dishes from Die Küche's monthly menu, and all three included several interesting and tasty elements, this is clearly a kitchen(Küche) where they like to experiment. Both the starter, main and dessert were both interesting and extremely tasty, Around the table of 8 everybody was giving thumbs up and big smiles for both the cocktails, wines and most importantly the food. Lastly must mention that our waiter also was attention, smiling and clearly knew what she was doing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I might to write my impressions on English to let you (=as next international visitor) know: it’s an absolutely MUST M!!! 2 have a meal @ this tiny, cozy, hearty place. The interior reminds me of a dining room from Denmark with some Portuguese touch (=northern meets southern). The monthly changing menu lets you to have an overlook about 12-+/- 2 dishes in a row of Starters-Mains-Desserts… all of them simply delicious but creative with 3-5 main ingredients (in a harmonious combination). I am really impressed by the whole : service, interior, food quality and taste (the German expression for it: GESAMTKONZEPT ist ein glatte Eins!) Last but not least: don’t let it out if you are in Bamberg!

I was there at lunch and I ordered some tapas (sweet sour pork belly, gyoza stuffed with salmon, vegetarian carpaccio and classic carpaccio, spring rolls, marinated butterfish with sea weed). Everything was delicious; salty, sweet, sour were perfectly balanced throughout the menu, creating an unforgettable culinary experience. Ingredients were creatively combined into very tasty and original results, sometimes by reinterpreting the tradition or by brilliantly showcasing it. Prices were a bit high, but value for money was absolutely fair. Service was prompt and effective, location was quite and hidden from the crowded city center, although very close to it. I would definitely come again to this Restaurant for another trip into flavors.

Really enjoyed the food in Die Kuche. We came because we saw one of our favorite wines on the menu (the Diemersfontein Pinotage) and would have settled for any food with this wine. However the Food was at least as good as the wine. I will forever remember the grilled eggplant and mozzarella ice cream I had as a starter. The service was friendly and the price very reasonable. I would come back for sure and highly recommended this place to visit.

They serve you fantastic food, that doesn't just look amazing but tastes like it as well. We had one of the most wonderful evenings there. I really want to mention our lovely waitress, Veronica. She was so much fun and explained everything on the menu quite well and with a lot of patience! We felt very welcome. I can only recommend this place! Note: this is not a very typical restaurant like most of places in and around bamberg. Be aware that you won't get a plate overloaded with food. You should come here if you enjoy high quality food and an stylish but nobel surrounding.

When you step into Die Kuche, you step into an atmosphere that is contemporary but warm. The cooking gives a new twist to some well-known dishes and introduces new approaches as well.
