Helene Restaurant in München

We were full of anticipation and excitement that we would be dining at this trendy restaurant this evening. But as is sometimes the case: the actions we are particularly looking forward to are not necessarily the ones that make our hearts beat faster. Some dishes were only lukewarm, the wine was "interesting" and the service left a lot to be desired. We had imagined it differently.

Very tasty starters and desserts, service not up to speed that evening, forgot 2nd dishes and then dessert. Would still go again to give them a second chance

I reserved a table for two people for Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. We had a two-hour timeframe. We'd barely been seated when we were asked what we wanted to eat. The food was served in a flash, and the table was cleared very quickly. Everything was "quick and easy." After our meal, we were immediately asked if we wanted another espresso. We weren't offered dessert or the menu at all. Our request for another drink was ignored. Instead, we were asked to leave the restaurant at 8:15 p.m. because a group of 20 guests was expected after us and the table still needed to be set. Absolutely outrageous! When I complained, we were offered a shot of schnapps and still charged early. I've been to Helene several times, including celebrating a birthday there with a larger group. After this outrageous service, this was my last visit! Two hours is already too short a time, especially if you're not familiar with Israeli cuisine. It's a shame because the food was always very good, except for the charred cauliflower.

Still ok, but used to be much better Still a nice restaurant, but before Corona it was much friendlier and had more class. The current menu is quite narrow and offers too little choice. The octopus tasted ok, but was unfortunately a bit tough. It's also stupid when the best red wine is out of the open wines, especially on Saturday evening. It is not appreciative of restaurant customers if, in order to get to the local disco, you have to go out and wait outside to go through the cash register. You used to be able to go straight into the disco through the existing interior door. That was an elegant solution. Not nice at all when, after paying a hefty restaurant bill, you have to go outside into the cold, stand in line and pay the entrance fee. In my opinion, this is poorly understood business sense. Don't come back so quickly. Maybe in summer. Let's see if anything has changed.

Es war wieder ein besonderer Abend -mit Familie-mit herzlicher Bewirtung und tollem Essen , einfach pefekt und sehr zu empfehlen.

Helene liebt Dich hat uns nicht nur lieb sondern mit traumhaftem Essen und einem tollen Service verzaubert. Isreal trifft Arabien konnten wir uns tmzuerst nicht wirklich vorstellen, jedoch haben uns die Kombinationen der Gerichte, inkl. Gewürzen, Zubereitung und Präsentation absolut überzeugt. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung sowie der Wunsch ganz bald mal wieder einen Abend bei #helene einzuplanen.

There was a small room in the disco downstairs, almost only unkempt guests, one even with a backpack on the dance floor. Everyone just stood around listlessly and didn't dare to dance The highlight was the barmaid with the short blonde bob and extensive cleavage who was totally unfriendly and aggressive and followed you with her envious eyes and left after 1 hour, never again!!!!!

Mein Mann und ich hatten in dieser Woche unseren Hochzeitstag gefeiert und suchten „etwas besonderes“, ruhiges und sehr leckeres und genau das haben wir hier gefunden! Wir waren die ersten Gäste und daher war es sehr ruhig 😂 im schön dekorierten, kleinen Lokal in downtown Schwabing. Begrüßt wurden wir von einem sehr freundlichen und aufmerksamen Kellner, der uns nach und nach stets strahlend die ganz besonderen Köstlichkeiten an den Tisch brachte. Und wie köstlich jedes einzelne Gericht war, ist unbeschreiblich. Die Köche leisten wirklich ganze Arbeit und sind damit auch der wahre Schatz dieses Restaurants! Egal ob Meze, das gebratene Lamm oder der sensationelle Jardin Majorelle Salat - jedes Gericht war in der Tat ein Gedicht! Dazu kamen Drinks, die wir noch nie vorher in dieser Kombination getrunken haben und ein Baklava mit Pistazieneis, das seinesgleichen sucht. Fazit: wir hatten einen wirklich wunderschönen Abend, haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, wurden sehr verwöhnt und das bedeutet: wir werden mit Sicherheit wiederkommen! Kleine aber sehr gute Essens-Auswahl. Service super freundlich. Leider war es eiskalt im Restaurant. Wir mussten beim Essen die Mäntel anlassen und mussten uns danach erst mal im Hotel aufwärmen, bevor wir weiter gezogen sind. Saßen an den bodentiefen Fenstern.

The two of us spent a lovely evening here. Since we love trying out restaurants, we ordered very generously from the menu and actually ate all of the appetizers and the tuna. The starters were all good but none of them really blew your mind away. Unfortunately the tuna wasn't that good. There were even 1-2 slices that didn't taste good at all. In general there were a lot of slices. Here you could possibly leave out two or three and use slightly better quality. The service was attentive and the atmosphere was really cozy. The time flew by and we felt good. Unfortunately some cocktails were not available and the coffee machine was broken.

We were there as a group of girls, the place is nicely decorated and you immediately feel at home. The service was friendly and top. And we all enjoyed it very much!! We would be happy to come back, clear recommendation.

Food was good but not overwhelming. The whistle was missing on some things. The expensive octopus, which we were very happy about, was unfortunately very tough and really hard. Too bad... But what bothered us the most in the group: The table was in the middle of the room and one row sat near the passage to the kitchen. It was cold, a constant tug when the door opened (which needs to be repaired because it doesn't close properly). Consider a process at the door or a different seating arrangement. We sat on the train for 2.5 hours in the cold. In addition, from 10:20 p.m. the kitchen was scrubbed, cleaned and cleaned with chlorine-containing agents. Although there were still 4-5 tables eating. The smell of chlorine was so intense that it hurt my eyes. Too bad! For so much money, we could have saved ourselves sitting in the cold and having to breathe in cleaning agents in the uncomfortable, noisy space. 7 people disappointed... It would be better to communicate in advance that you would be asked to pay and leave from 10 p.m. because that's when the intensive cleaning work begins. The service girls were great. Very hardworking, nice and warm.

One of the best locations in Munich. Menu is not extensive but there is something for everyone. The chefs know their job. We felt like we were in Marrakech or Beirut. Great and thank you!

Spoiled by Helene 💃🏻 We were enchanted by the culinary delights and looked after wonderfully by the service. Eating is a taste journey to the Middle East and tastes excellent. The service was extremely attentive and extremely friendly. Thank you for the lovely evening. Helene loves us 😘

There were four of us there in the evening. We had aperitifs, various starters, main courses, desserts... Everything at the highest level and with sophistication! The service was very attentive and friendly and the ambience fits very well with the modern interpretation of traditional dishes. A clear recommendation!👍👍👍

Location: it’s in an active area, not far from English garden. It can reach by U-Bahn or tram, meanwhile, there is park house nearby, very convenient. (4.5) Environment: we sit outside at the terrace, it is very comfortable and cozy. I think it’s the best season of the year. I like the colorful design and decoration. (4.5) Food: they are excellent!! I like every dish, the eggplant is refreshing, the avocado is yummy and the Octopus is juice. (5) Service: I must highlight the service, they always come to clean up the table timely, they ask if we need anything regularly, and they respond immediately. (5) Price: it’s a normal price to pay in Schwabing. (4.5) Overall: 4.7 I will surely go back to try out the other dishes.

The seven of us ate our way through the menu. The mezze are super tasty and fresh. The Tatar world class. Plus a white wine flat rate for €12 on Tuesday. Allergies were also taken into account. Clear recommendation

We had a very nice evening, really good food, good service! The mezze were amazing and the portions were generous.

Managed to get an early table without booking and sat outside (blankets a nice touch). Service was noticeably attentive and the food looked and, more importantly, tasted great!

Auch der junge Mann, der uns bedient hat, 1 A. Demnächst gerne wieder, dann vielleicht auch mit Freunden.

The Helene restaurant is located in a busy area. We had several starters that tasted and looked perfect. For the main course we ordered the beef fillet and additional asparagus. The beef fillet was fried to a perfect medium rare and the combination with the side dishes earned a 10 out of 10. I also have to highlight the drinks. Be sure to try the recommendations! The gin with basil was really fantastic. Many thanks also to the attentive service. We will be back

The service was extremely friendly and attentive, even on a busy Saturday evening. The ambience with music, lighting and furnishings was very pleasant, even though the tables were quite close together. You should avoid the tables in the middle of the room because it gets a bit hectic with arriving guests and the walking paths of the service staff. The “Baked Cauliflower” and “Crispy Avocado” appetizers were extremely tasty, and the dips that came with them were really excellent. The main course, the "Grilled Octopus", was generally okay. However, the sauces (muhammara and olive tapenade) perhaps masked the flavor of the octopus a bit too much. Unfortunately, the fried romaine lettuce that was served with it had some brown (slightly rotten) spots on the outside. Apparently the chef thought this wouldn't be noticeable when fried. All in all, the restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Das Essen war hervorragend und der Service sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Ich hatte zum Hauptgang Oktupus der leider etwas zäh war. Nachdem ich es der Kellnerin gesagt hatte, habe ich sofort einen neuen Oktupus bekommen der perfekt war. Außerdem wurde sich mehrmals dafür entschuldigt. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend in tollem Ambiente, hervorragenden Service und werden bestimmt noch einmal kommen 😊

Essen sehr schmackhaft und Fleisch auf dem Punkt. Service aufmerksam,freundlich und schnell. Nach dem Essen waren wir noch in der angeschlossenen Disko. Musik,Stimmung und Publikum waren super. 5 Sterne ohne jede Kritik. Leider von Duisburg NRW etwas weit weg, aber bei unserem nächsten Münchentrip kommen wir gerne wieder.

Das Essen ist sowohl optisch als auch geschmacklich ausgezeichnet. Der Service sehr aufmerksam und schnell. Wir waren am Freitag Abend mit 3 Personen und hatten für 18.00 Uhr reserviert. Uns war bewusst, dass wir ein Zeitkontingent von 2 Std. haben ,um 20.00 Uhr waren noch einige Tische frei, trotzdem wurden wir sanft aber bestimmt gedrängt die Rechnung zu bezahlen, was den schönen Abend leider einen unschönen Abschluss gab.

Haben einen sehr schönen Abend hier verbracht. Essen und Service waren 🔝. Vielen Dank an das Team.

Heute Abend das erste Mal hier gewesen. War super! Sehr gutes Essen, sehr netter Service, lauer Sommerabend in Schwabing. Was will man mehr?

Wir standen hier fast ne Stunde an weil es Einlassstopp gab. Das ist ja an sich verständlich, aber das Publikum und die Musik ist nur was für 18-20 Jährige (einiges an High-School-Musical und Hannah Montana) und es hat gefühlt 50 grad im Club.

Ein sehr schönes Restaurant. Ich war schon mehrmals dort essen…immer sehr zuvorkommender Service, leckeres Essen und Cocktails.

Wir waren das erste Mal dort. Das Essen war durchgehend sehr lecker und der Service extrem freundlich und aufmerksam. Zusammen mit der musikalischen Untermalung war es fast ein bisschen wie Kurzurlaub in Marrakesh. ;-)

Die Musik ist leider die reinste Katastrophe. Waren jetzt zwei Mal dort und zwei Mal echt mega enttäuscht. Bei 2 DJ's könnte man sich echt nen besseren Mix an Musik überlegen. Neben dem VIP Bereich in der Disco kommt man sich als Gast 2. Klasse vor. Jackenabgabe ist kostenlos, gibt einen Pluspunkt.

Von Helene verwöhnt 💃🏻 Wir wurden kulinarisch verzaubert und vom Service wunderbar umsorgt. Essen ist eine geschmackliche Reise in den nahen Osten und schmeckt hervorragend. Der Service war extrem aufmerksam und ausgesprochen freundlich. Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend. Helene liebt uns 😘

Schönes Ambiente und das Das Essen ist echt lecker

Das Essen ist immer wieder zum Niederknien. Die Bedienung total freundlich. Ich gebe gern 20 von 5 möglichen Sternen...;) Schade, dass wir nicht um die Ecke wohnen, sondern immer erst aus Risenheim hin kommen müssen...;)

1 Stern für die großen Tische - hier hat man endlich mal Platz ohne Angst haben zu müssen, dass Geschirr oder Gläser vom Tisch fallen, weil der Tisch zu Mini ist :D 2. Stern für die nette Bedienung. 3. Stern für frische Zutaten - ich für meinen Teil finde jedenfalls, dass es "frisch" geschmeckt hat :D Aber das war es dann leider auch schon :/ Ambiente & Einrichtung gefällt mir nicht - Aber das ist, wie alles eigentlich, rein subjektiv. Die Speisekarte ist mehr als überschaubar - aber zumindest gibt es 1 veganes Hauptgericht zusätzlich zu den veganen/vegetarischen Vorspeisen. Essen war ganz OK, aber nichts, was mir als "Besonders" in Erinnerung bleiben wird. Und da die Karte sowas von klein ist & somit keine wirkliche Auswahl, gibt es auch keinen Grund ein 2. Mal vorbeizuschauen - oder wechselt die Karte wöchentlich? Glaube nicht, einen entsprechenden Hinweis habe ich jedenfalls nicht gesehen. Was mich aber am meisten gestört hat ist die Getränkekarte, die sich ausschließlich an ein Alkohol konsumierendes Publikum richtet. Als nicht Alkohol konsumierende Veganerin fühle ich mich hier nicht wohl.

Sehr nettes und zuvorkommendes Personal, man fühlt sich direkt wohl. Das Essen ist super lecker und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist top!!!! Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder.

Essen alles sehr gut, hätte für mich sogar noch etwas mehr Pep (z. B. Schärfe) haben können. Oktopus super gut! Service dagegen leider etwas schlaff und obwohl 2x Leitubgswasser bestellt wurde, wurde es mir verweigert und es kam immer eine stille Mineralwasserflasche. Ansonsten sehr nett.
