Tony`s EssBar in München

The atmosphere at this place is great. Everything feels clean and aesthetic. There are backlight mirrors, textured walls and ceilings, vines hanging among lightbulbs and comfy chairs. The service is really good. The waiters make you feel at home and are far from inefficient. As for the food, it‘s not bad at all but also nothing too special really. Yet overall, I can recommend this place!

I really liked this restaurant – from the ambiance and service to the food, everything was perfect for me. They even handled a large group of 20+ with ease. We'd love to go back!

Tony's Essbar... always worth a visit, just not this time! Why... quite simply, just because it's the only restaurant in Milbertshofen (Munich) (or rather, the best), doesn't mean it can rest on its laurels. We went to a place where we've always enjoyed our meals, but on this Tuesday we were unlucky – the kitchen and servers weren't in the best mood. My husband wanted the daily special, and I wanted the Wiener Schnitzel. We ordered a bottle of wine, which I turned a blind eye to because it had tartar. My husband's meal was sold out, so we had to change it, which was also sold out (the waiter wasn't well informed), but then we found something. The main problem was my meal, the schnitzel, TOP! Highly recommended! The fried potatoes – raw onions, mushy potatoes! The cellar – I shouldn't be like that, no apologies, nothing! He did offer me an espresso or a Ramazotti, but that's not what I'm talking about. A fried potato isn't called a fried potato for nothing! A "fried potato," I'm sorry, would have been the right choice. It's a shame! Because I can generally recommend the restaurant. But this one seems to be all about the revenue, not the customer. It's a shame, we won't be coming back.

Very pleasant staff. The food is absolutely delicious. The pizza was very good. We had bruschetta yesterday, which was also highly recommended. The spicy option with fresh chili and garlic didn't even cost extra. Very fair. Thank you, we felt very comfortable.

The restaurant now has the best price/performance ratio in the Knorrstraße area with a very fair lunch menu and very friendly service.

Unfortunately, we were there today. Shortly before 11 p.m., the waiter outside signaled to us that we were no longer allowed to sit outside, even though there were still plenty of guests sitting and drinking. My girlfriend is a regular there, and I'm just visiting from Mönchengladbach and have been there a few times this week. I found it very rude and disrespectful without explanation. As we walked a few meters further, I saw him bringing drinks to another table. We just met the employee who serves drinks at the bar, who told us that they were open until midnight today. Recommended restaurant, friendly service, good food.

A stylish, modern and cozy restaurant. The portions were surprisingly large, so we "rolled" out of the restaurant earlier 😄. We each had a starter, a main course, and a dessert to share. The price/performance ratio was absolutely reasonable, and the service was exceptionally good. We felt completely at home and would definitely return if we're ever in Munich again.

We were at Tony's EssBar for the first time - and the first impression was entirely positive: the furnishings are high-quality and stylish, we felt very comfortable right from the start. Despite the house being full, Mirko's service team was incredibly quick, attentive and consistently friendly. There were ten of us in total - and yet our food came at the same time. From bruschetta, mixed salad, pizza, pasta and Viennese-style schnitzel to the panna cotta and the fabulous dessert “glazed pistachio balls on a fine chocolate sponge cake made from Belgian chocolate” – everything was excellently prepared. The freshly baked bread, the fluffy schnitzel, the crispy pizza – every single dish was a good reason for us to come back. But Mirko rounded off the evening perfectly and gave us a really good time. Gladly again!

Great value for money! We regularly go to Tony's Essbar or the Platzwirt. The food is delicious, varied and the service is always good. We can highly recommend the restaurant and would be happy to come back.

The best 'Local' restaurant in Munich. Always great service,fantastic food and beverage and pleasant, attentive staff. We have had numerous family occasions there as well which were amazing. I don't recall any restaurant that I've been to that every single item on the menu is delicious.

We wanted to order something to eat but the waiters were useless, totally in a bad mood, no sensible answer about the food we wanted to order, extremely unfriendly.

Food and service are very good. Unfortunately it was so loud inside that conversation was not possible. There was a large group of about 30 people right next to us. I went there for a birthday dinner with my in-laws and it was extremely stressful for them. We will therefore no longer eat there together on weekends.

Unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations. Unfortunately I didn't like the pizza at all!

I recommend, I recommend! Truffles are not a dish, they are poetry! A big tribute to the chef. A lovely atmosphere. It's really great.

Either salad or soup is served with the lunch menu, the prices are good. Cozy atmosphere, the service is quick and friendly. The only small drawback are the toilet cubicles, a bit small. Otherwise recommended.

Geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Restaurant, sehr gute italienische Küche, extrem zuvorkommende Bedienung, telefonische Reservierung hat einwandfrei geklappt, angemessene Preise, Wir waren rundum zufrieden und konnten wieder.

The taste of the food, service and ambience all are very good. But it was my bad luck that I got a hair strand in my salad and let the waiter know and they immediately remove the Essen and offered me a free Tiramisu. I think they should give more attention in washing the salads, otherwise I like the place and love to go there again.

Bad experience The food was okay but the service was disappointing. The waiter was extremely rude and treated us noticeably worse than other guests. While others were able to choose from the entire menu, we were only offered pizza as the kitchen was supposedly closing. Overall a very unpleasant experience that we cannot recommend.

Disappointing experience with poor service The food in this restaurant was okay, but unfortunately the overall impression was greatly marred by the poor service. Our waiter was extremely unfriendly and rude, which had a very negative impact on our experience. While the waiter was friendly and courteous to other guests, we were treated with obvious disdain. We came to the restaurant to have a quiet meal and drink, but were told that we could only order pizza as the kitchen would be closing soon. Strangely, other guests who arrived at the same time were allowed to choose from the full menu, while we did not have this option. Overall, it was a disappointing experience that we won't soon forget. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this restaurant.

This used to be a really cool place a couple of years ago, but unfortunately I'm editing my original review. The quality of the service and food has degraded overtime.

Very good schnitzel! Good price and very friendly service

It used to be of better quality. Pizza was super tasty, but the portion of baby calamari was quite disappointing and the mushroom sauce for the pork fillet was more similar to hollandaise and the mushrooms were watery. But it had little to do with a mushroom cream sauce in terms of consistency and taste. But the service was super friendly and attentive.

This is our absolute favorite restaurant. The lunch menu is phenomenal. But even the normal menu leaves nothing to be desired. You are always served very nicely. We love this place.

Surprisingly very nice!! I don’t know but we were expecting more like a bistro type of restaurant before entering but it’s a quite cosy and welcomingly run restaurant with a fair price-value ratio. Definitely check out their special offers before going. For example Monday is Schnitzel-Day with great variety of different types for a really good price especially for Munich! Will come again and can recommend if you are staying in this area or live here. - two guests end/mid 20 -

Hello, I had pizza here and it was really good for about 10 a normal sized pizza which was enough for the quantity. The base is also nice and thin and they added extra cheese for me. Would go for pizza here again 😜

Update April 2024: it's still great here, best food, professional and friendly waiters, colorful crowd. It is usually well attended, sometimes full. Prices have continued to rise, but you can still eat cheaply. It has since been renovated several times. The outdoor spaces were expanded after Corona. Conclusion: always worth a visit. ‐----- Update: there are no more football broadcasts. To do this you have to go to the Platzwirt (a few hundred meters away, the boss himself). The style is now clearer. ----- Even if the style is not entirely consistent, it is a place that is worth visiting. Whether it's going out to eat or drinking cocktails or even just a beer. It's actually too busy for a restaurant, especially when the Bundesliga or Champions League is being broadcast. If you don't like that, you should avoid these days. On the other hand, the food is far too good for what you would expect in a cocktail bar or even a football pub. It tastes great, is always fresh (also great salads) and varied. The prices are even reasonable for the area. E.g.: "Surf & Turf", a juicy beef steak with 3 giant prawns, salad and side dishes costs €13.50 (as of January 2004). There is also good vegetarian food (pasta, goat cheese, vegetables...). A small negative point: there is no breakfast there. (Update 2022: still cheap and good, but Surf & Turf now costs €17.90 or so after 18 years) The staff is the same from the start, professional, very friendly and accommodating without seeming exaggerated or fake. The working atmosphere seems to be very good, the employees are always in a good mood. In short: I like to go there again and again and I also like to take friends with me, no one has ever been disappointed.

We come from Hamburg and traveled to Munich for the European Championship 2024 opening game. Our hotel was around the corner and we were looking for a restaurant. Then we came across Tony's Essbar through Google... Outstanding! Great building from the outside and you could sit comfortably right in front of the shop even in summer. We were surprised by the interior design. Simply great ambience and very modern furnishings. Very nice waiter and super accommodating. A real oasis of well-being. Now all that mattered was food. And here too there is an outstanding selection and everything is very, very tasty. And now the best part... Everything at a fair price and a large portion. 10/ 10 points, come and let yourself be surprised :)

Racism’s is in their blood! Gentleman whoever served the drinks, was ridiculously rude! 1. We were 2 of us from India, we ordered beer and looking at the menu, the waiter just snatched the menu from us and stared with cold looks, we had no clue why he did that!! 2. We gently asked for his name, he refused to tell He wore a black dress, lean and slightly bald We have gone to other German bars too and were treated well , but due to this person behaviour, we felt this is a bloody racist place! If you are from India or any Asian country, please DONT GO HERE !! I bet they will never behave this way to their local German guests like as if we are drinking or eating for charity without paying money!! I would request the owner to see this review and take appropriate action if possible!

We have been to Tony's Essbar for the umpteenth time. The food and the price-performance ratio are very good. The service, especially when it's busy, could sometimes be a little more attentive. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant. In any case, one of the few recommended restaurants in this corner.

Unfortunately, instead of wild boar, there was only some of it on the menu, the others were normal pig. Demanding 2.50 - 3.50 for side dishes is not appropriate considering the prices. Rösties to eat are ready-made that I can also buy myself in the supermarket. Salad with squid totally dry. All in all too expensive for the quality.
