The taste of the food, service and ambience all are very good. But it was my bad luck that I got a hair strand in my salad and let the waiter know and they immediately remove the Essen and offered me a free Tiramisu. I think they should give more attention in washing the salads, otherwise I like the place and love to go there again.

Bad experience The food was okay but the service was disappointing. The waiter was extremely rude and treated us noticeably worse than other guests. While others were able to choose from the entire menu, we were only offered pizza as the kitchen was supposedly closing. Overall a very unpleasant experience that we cannot recommend.

Disappointing experience with poor service The food in this restaurant was okay, but unfortunately the overall impression was greatly marred by the poor service. Our waiter was extremely unfriendly and rude, which had a very negative impact on our experience. While the waiter was friendly and courteous to other guests, we were treated with obvious disdain. We came to the restaurant to have a quiet meal and drink, but were told that we could only order pizza as the kitchen would be closing soon. Strangely, other guests who arrived at the same time were allowed to choose from the full menu, while we did not have this option. Overall, it was a disappointing experience that we won't soon forget. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this restaurant.

This used to be a really cool place a couple of years ago, but unfortunately I'm editing my original review. The quality of the service and food has degraded overtime.

Very good schnitzel! Good price and very friendly service

It used to be of better quality. Pizza was super tasty, but the portion of baby calamari was quite disappointing and the mushroom sauce for the pork fillet was more similar to hollandaise and the mushrooms were watery. But it had little to do with a mushroom cream sauce in terms of consistency and taste. But the service was super friendly and attentive.

This is our absolute favorite restaurant. The lunch menu is phenomenal. But even the normal menu leaves nothing to be desired. You are always served very nicely. We love this place.

Surprisingly very nice!! I don’t know but we were expecting more like a bistro type of restaurant before entering but it’s a quite cosy and welcomingly run restaurant with a fair price-value ratio. Definitely check out their special offers before going. For example Monday is Schnitzel-Day with great variety of different types for a really good price especially for Munich! Will come again and can recommend if you are staying in this area or live here. - two guests end/mid 20 -

Great lunch menu at a fair price!

Hello, I had pizza here and it was really good for about 10 a normal sized pizza which was enough for the quantity. The base is also nice and thin and they added extra cheese for me. Would go for pizza here again 😜

Update April 2024: it's still great here, best food, professional and friendly waiters, colorful crowd. It is usually well attended, sometimes full. Prices have continued to rise, but you can still eat cheaply. It has since been renovated several times. The outdoor spaces were expanded after Corona. Conclusion: always worth a visit. ‐----- Update: there are no more football broadcasts. To do this you have to go to the Platzwirt (a few hundred meters away, the boss himself). The style is now clearer. ----- Even if the style is not entirely consistent, it is a place that is worth visiting. Whether it's going out to eat or drinking cocktails or even just a beer. It's actually too busy for a restaurant, especially when the Bundesliga or Champions League is being broadcast. If you don't like that, you should avoid these days. On the other hand, the food is far too good for what you would expect in a cocktail bar or even a football pub. It tastes great, is always fresh (also great salads) and varied. The prices are even reasonable for the area. E.g.: "Surf & Turf", a juicy beef steak with 3 giant prawns, salad and side dishes costs €13.50 (as of January 2004). There is also good vegetarian food (pasta, goat cheese, vegetables...). A small negative point: there is no breakfast there. (Update 2022: still cheap and good, but Surf & Turf now costs €17.90 or so after 18 years) The staff is the same from the start, professional, very friendly and accommodating without seeming exaggerated or fake. The working atmosphere seems to be very good, the employees are always in a good mood. In short: I like to go there again and again and I also like to take friends with me, no one has ever been disappointed.

We come from Hamburg and traveled to Munich for the European Championship 2024 opening game. Our hotel was around the corner and we were looking for a restaurant. Then we came across Tony's Essbar through Google... Outstanding! Great building from the outside and you could sit comfortably right in front of the shop even in summer. We were surprised by the interior design. Simply great ambience and very modern furnishings. Very nice waiter and super accommodating. A real oasis of well-being. Now all that mattered was food. And here too there is an outstanding selection and everything is very, very tasty. And now the best part... Everything at a fair price and a large portion. 10/ 10 points, come and let yourself be surprised :)

Racism’s is in their blood! Gentleman whoever served the drinks, was ridiculously rude! 1. We were 2 of us from India, we ordered beer and looking at the menu, the waiter just snatched the menu from us and stared with cold looks, we had no clue why he did that!! 2. We gently asked for his name, he refused to tell He wore a black dress, lean and slightly bald We have gone to other German bars too and were treated well , but due to this person behaviour, we felt this is a bloody racist place! If you are from India or any Asian country, please DONT GO HERE !! I bet they will never behave this way to their local German guests like as if we are drinking or eating for charity without paying money!! I would request the owner to see this review and take appropriate action if possible!

We have been to Tony's Essbar for the umpteenth time. The food and the price-performance ratio are very good. The service, especially when it's busy, could sometimes be a little more attentive. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant. In any case, one of the few recommended restaurants in this corner.

Unfortunately, instead of wild boar, there was only some of it on the menu, the others were normal pig. Demanding 2.50 - 3.50 for side dishes is not appropriate considering the prices. Rösties to eat are ready-made that I can also buy myself in the supermarket. Salad with squid totally dry. All in all too expensive for the quality.

Very, very, very good food. The waiter very accommodating and quick. Additions as an extra request are no problem. Gladly again.

Ich war mehr als vier Mal dort und kann mit Sicherheit sagen, dass dieses Lokal eine wunderbare Pizza und sehr höfliche und angenehme Kellner hat. Das Café ist sehr angenehm und komfortabel renoviert. Ein wunderbarer Ort für ein Familienessen, eine Firmenveranstaltung oder einfach nur zum Entspannen. Danke!

In Milbertshofen aus der U-Bahn ausgestiegen bin ich beim Warten auf einen Termin an der Tonys Essbar vorbeigelaufen. Vom Aussehen angesprochen, drehte ich wieder um und habe dort zu Mittag gegessen. 🤤 < Dieses Smiley beschreibt alles. Das Schnitzel war sehr sehr gut und wird noch lange in Erinnerung bleiben. Das Personal freundlich und nett. Der Service ist sehr schnell. Ich musste auf Getränk und essen nicht lange warten. Die Preise sind für München absolut in Ordnung. Ich kann dieses Restaurant uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Wir waren zu Besuch in Milbertshofen und haben diese schöne Location entdeckt. Ich war positiv über die schöne, etwas gehobene Einrichtung, überrascht. Neben Pizza und Pasta gibt es ein tolles, nicht alltägliches, Angebot und einen netten Service. Die PutenMedaillons mit Rösti in Orange-Pfeffer-Soße waren der Hammer. Auch das Maracuja Tiramisu war sehr lecker.

The service was awful, we had to demand to be actually served, otherwise we would most likely wait there until now :( They billed us two more items we didn't have, but we realized it too late.

Ate there recently (Son lives around the corner). Popular for lunch. Pizzas nice enough and good value on the lunch menu. Staff nice enough. Will try it again.

I took great care in selecting a bar, I was disappointed in the service and that the food was average, overall I didn't experience the staff to be friendly and they were unhelpful. They also only take cash and the nearest atm is 1km away. Personally I would not go back I expience the owner/manager to be aggressive when I complained about no card services. He said next time I should learn how to read the signs on his door, happy to say there won't be a next time.

My family took me here for dinner while visiting them and coming from a huge food background in Miami, I must say what they are doing at this establishment is outstanding! From the service top notch and very kind to the flavors of the food and the daily specials. I can’t wait to go back to the restaurant. I could go back tomorrow it was that nice of an experience... While discovering our new neighbourhood, we ran into this place. Augustiner on tap is always perfect and we decided to eat there as well. Great, crunchy and freshly made pizza and the burger was good too! Outside seating is available and you can watch the traffic and people pass by whilst enjoying your beer or drink from the full bar. As it is just down the street, we'll definitely make this a place-to-go for lunch or dinner.

After two weeks in Bavaria I have found my favorite place to eat out. Today we met Tony at his second location "Tony's Essbar". I tried something new today, a fish platter. I am not a fish eater, but I wanted to try something different. Wow, great choice! First we received our drinks and a large bowl of salad. The salad was made of fresh mixed lettuce with a great tasting house dressing. Then the main plate came out. I eat slow, and taste my food before sending it south. Everything from the fish to the potatos had a unique taste. Each item on my plate had a flavor of it's own. Very tasty! After having a filling meal and a beer, my friend told Tony that I did not like any of the Cappuccino coffee's I have tasted in Bavaria. I had a double cappuccino that had a great flavor to the coffee and the thick foam was the thickest I have ever encountered in my travels. Yes, this was the best! I was so full by this time I could barely sit up straight. Then Tony says they made a special desert cake and he wanted us to try it. Another piece of art work. Great presentation and the taste was more than I expected. It was a four layer cake made to perfection. If you are looking for a great place to eat or just sit around and drink, I recommend you stop by and give them a try. There is plenty of room inside along with seating outside. They have a full bar and they understand and speak several languages.

Went there with my toddler and another mom with her son...the bartender at this restaurant is awesome! So playful with the children and friendly...I have been here many times and the food is always excellent...recommend it to anyone in the area...

Like the previous reviewer we were also staying at the Park Inn and wandered along Knorrstrasse in search of lunch, when we found this modern Italian bar restaurant. From the special offers for Friday lunch, we chose Tony's special Pizza and the fish plate, (pan fried salmon,squid and a fillet of white fish with spinach potatoes), both with salad. Both were delicious, the service quick and friendly and the bill reasonable. A good find,obviously a place where the locals eat.

On a city break with friends staying just down the road at Park Inn. Called in for a drink one evening and were made very welcome. Went back without a reservation on Saturday night for dinner and were accommodated and the food was excellent. All 4 of us enjoyed our choices and they serve reasonable wines too.Nice atmosphere with a broad age range..a change from the beer cellars ,a lovely bar.
