Fink's Südtiroler Knödelküche in München

It's delicious! But €5.80 for a Coke is outrageous!

It was a really lovely visit ☀️ to Finks for lunch. We were initially a bit surprised by the prices, but the food was worth it and the service was excellent. The waitress clearly ran the place single-handedly, was incredibly friendly, and handled everything quickly and confidently, even recommending dishes from the menu. Every dish was perfect in its own way, and I ordered the coleslaw as a side and the Schlutznudeln (a type of filled pasta) as a starter. The drinks, like the delicious apple spritzer, were also worth the price. Reservations are definitely recommended, even for lunch! ✨

The food here was very tasty, and staff were nice and friendly, but we spent a very long time waiting for orders to be taken, and then for food and drinks to arrive.

The restaurant is small; it was pleasantly quiet in the early evening, but gradually filled up. We had a reservation and received a very friendly welcome and service. The selection of dumplings was adequate, and all the varieties we ordered tasted very good. The base of almost all the dumplings is bread rolls, which, in my opinion, makes them too expensive. The currant spritzer we ordered for €6 was unfortunately just water with a little syrup. The selection of non-alcoholic drinks is also very limited.

It's nice here. I'd recommend taking a look at the menu online beforehand. The dumplings are smaller than you'd expect from a Bavarian restaurant and are served without sauce. The honey and poppy seed dumpling for dessert was great. I found the three dumplings in the main course to be rather dry.

Wow, I hadn't expected such a gem in this location. The service was friendly and welcoming. The dumplings were delicious, and the aroma of brown butter and Parmesan filled the air. The Forst beer, naturally cloudy and easy to drink (served in a thimble by Munich standards :-) but undeniably authentic. The coleslaw with bacon, ordered separately, was pleasantly tangy, perfectly cut, and crispy. The price-performance ratio was excellent, which is saying something these days in the Gärtnerplatz district. My longing for South Tyrol was fulfilled with this pre-theater visit.

The dumplings were nothing special. The server didn't even pass on our order. The salad was a joke for €7…

Extremely overpriced and I didn't even get full. We went for pizza afterwards.

The food was quite tasty. I think it's too expensive for such a small portion. My fork was also dirty, so we had to exchange it. We were also ripped off by a waitress. She didn't tell us we had to pay extra for something. I wouldn't come again.

The service is friendly and attentive. The dumplings arrived very quickly and piping hot. The decor, however, isn't really my cup of tea...

Amazing giant German dumplings. Lots of flavours - we had bacon, leek, radicchio & girgonzola. Great starter of ravioli with spinach and a meat/cheese platter. The staff were great. Seating indoors and outside.

The restaurant only serves dumplings at rather high prices. When the platter arrived after a half-hour wait, I was expecting the best dumplings of my life. Unfortunately, the taste was just okay, but nothing more. The same goes for the ambiance and service.

The service was excellent, the food wasn't quite my cup of tea, but it was certainly good. I particularly liked the ambiance. The decor is very nice, and the music fits the concept.

Delicious dumplings and a really good lunch special! The menu includes three dumplings of your choice, a small salad and a drink - absolutely fair in price and great in taste. The dumplings were creatively filled and I really enjoyed them. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with great attention to detail, and the outdoor area also looked inviting. It was pleasantly quiet at lunchtime, making it perfect for a relaxed lunch break. Overall, a thoroughly successful visit – there’s nothing to complain about here. Gladly again!

Simply wow! We came in Monaco to spend few days and on our walk to the Deutsche Museum we found this nice spot, little cozy restaurant on the street. It was clean, the waiter was so kind (we had some flowers and he gave us some water in a bowl), but what's really delighted us was the food. 10/10. If you need a pit stop for lunch, you should order the express lunch menu. 🤩

The dumplings were really tasty – nice and fluffy, well seasoned and cooked throughout. You can taste that quality has been worked here. I particularly liked the cheese dumplings, which had a great consistency and didn't fall apart. A small point deduction because they could have used a little more seasoning or sauce for my taste - but that's complaining at a high level. Overall, highly recommended.

Typically original South Tyrolean dumplings. We tried many different ones, all of which were very tasty. The chili dumpling is also highly recommended. The service was super friendly and also from South Tyrol. Makes you want to visit South Tyrol and shortens the waiting time.

After more than a year I returned to this place with great pleasure. Atmosphere and food accompanied by wine. What more could you want? Cheese platter for us and a quartet of Knödel. The mushroom one is super recommended 😍

Delicious dumplings, but the price is a bit too high. The food was quite tasty and the selection of different dumplings offers something for every taste. However, the price is a bit high - among other things, we found 7 euros for a small, average side salad to be too expensive.

An absolute dumpling dream!! We had four different vegetarian dumplings as well as a vegan sweet dumpling. We couldn't decide which was tastiest! The design of the restaurant is very cozy but modern and the service is friendly and fast. One point deducted because the heating was set a bit high for a busy Saturday evening ;)

Great wooden interior design! The Knödel are delicious - unfortunately only 2-3 can be eaten because they are quite filling 😅

We loved the dumplings! Unfortunately only two of each girl went in, then we were stuffed. So we each ate two different dumplings and tried six of them: the herb dumpling and the spinach dumpling, as well as the cheese dumpling, were unbeatable! Service top! A piece of South Tyrol in the middle of Munich. Always freshly prepared, wonderful dumplings or Schluzkrapfen with melted butter and parmesan... what more do you need for that holiday feeling. Taste tip: Porcini mushroom dumplings – a poem!

Cozy little restaurant. Nice service and the Schlutzkrapfen were delicious! There is also 1/4 liter wine and not the usual 0.2 liter, at a decent price! I'll be back!! !

Definitely a recommendation if you are in Munich! The dumplings are absolutely delicious (especially with salad 😍), the atmosphere is authentic and the waiters are nice. The nougat dumpling as dessert was my highlight! We quickly ordered ice cream, which was just the perfect combination to finish it off. Drinks were also really tasty. We went there without a reservation (during the week) and were lucky to get a table, so it's best to make a reservation if you want to make sure you get a table 😊.

Considering that there are actually only dumplings, it's a great and recommendable little restaurant. If you choose the “dumpling party”, you get 10 dumplings for the price of 58 euros. Juice spritzer cost 6 euros.

This place is absolutely amazing. If you are a fan of Knödel (potato dumplings) it is a must on your list. The best Knödel in Munich and beyond: kasspress, spinach and red beet are incredible. Get a side salad as well. 👏🙏so good.

We are big South Tyrol fans. And here there is a piece of South Tyrolean holiday flair in the middle of Munich. The food is very good. And the service is also great. We would be happy to come back soon!

The dumplings were tasty and the service was good, but €6 for a 0.4 juice spritzer is massively excessive, even for Munich.

I was pleasantly surprised by the pleasant atmosphere inside. You wouldn't suspect it. The dumplings taste exactly like they do in South Tyrol and sometimes even better (I'm South Tyrolean). Very good lunch offer! 13€ for 2 dumplings, salad and 0.5 liters of mineral water. Service is always very friendly!

I used to be a big fan, but unfortunately I think it has waned. The dumplings have become smaller and the lunch menu is now fixed (you can no longer choose dumplings), which is unfortunate. Especially now for the price. The seasonal chestnut dumpling has also disappeared from the menu. Too bad!

Wonderful variety of dumpling cuisine, you can try it. After that it's enough for a while. It's a bit disappointing that a lagrein muris semolina is listed on the wine list, but it isn't served, or a different bottle. Did you just make a mistake when copying the texts?

We villagers tried the dumplings on recommendation. The taste is really exceptionally good. Very very tasty. Portions are very small, so not for those who are very hungry 😉 Service was also great. In terms of price, it's also an experience. 6€ for an apple spritzer is already huge

Update 06/02/23 to 08/11/21 During this time I have been to Fink's Knödel Restaurant with friends several times and it has always been a pleasure to eat and be there... The dumplings have lost none of their charm Update 5/31/21 was here today for the second time in a week and my opinion hasn't changed, it's still very tasty. Tried three new dumplings. For dessert there was again the delicious honey poppy seed dumplings. 5/25/21 In the evening while looking for a restaurant here in Munich I came across this Tyrolean dumpling restaurant which still had seats outside despite the situation. And the dumplings in the restaurant are very interesting and I've got some space.. starting with a Hugo, I decided on porcini mushroom dumplings, pizza dumplings and chard walnut dumplings.. plus a gorgonzola sauce and overall it was very, very tasty even if the sauce was a bit flat.. For dessert there was a very tasty honey poppy seed dumpling with a delicious topping or sauce made from cinnamon sugar crumbs and honey. Very tasty combination. The service was very friendly and quick. All in all a nice visit with good food. Highly recommended.

I had the lunch menu and really enjoyed it. Super tasty and great value for money.

The place to go if you are longing for Classic Knödel and want to explore the Süd-Tirol kitchen. A favourite spot of locals in Munich to fair prices. We ordered with 2 females: 4 Knödel from which all were great. We had the more classic versions with Spinach, Cheese, Bacon & Kräuter Topfen Nockerl. The latter is a very fluffy variant. We’ve ordered a salad to have something fresh with it. Next time I’d also like to try the sweet ones- mainly with Zwetschgen/Prumes. Which looked great. As a drink the Johannis Spritz is recommended. As always it’s recommended to reserve in Munich.

The folks working there provided the best service you can ask for!! Food was unbelievable and they helped me pair with an excellent wine. (Knodels seemed like a good way to soak up alcohol in your stomach lol) What a great way to end an awesome trip!

The restaurant is cozy and nicely decorated inside. The service is friendly and attentive. There was too much butter on all the dumplings for me. Bacon dumplings are very tasty. Pizza and Greek dumplings, for example, are not seasoned enough. For example, the dumpling could use more pizza flavor. The drinks are very expensive. Fruit spritzer 6 euros is a lot. Overall, a nice evening, but with some drawbacks.

We had a great dinner there. Service was friendly and the drinks came quickly. The selection of dumplings is very interesting and there is something for everyone. The food itself was really tasty and the restaurant can only be recommended. The next time we are in Munich we will definitely come back! Tip: Reserve in advance!

Very tasty and the salad is perfect with it. I've eaten here twice now and the service is really nice and tries very hard to please the guests.

Please note that the kitchen closes 45 minutes beforehand. So if you come at 1:45 p.m. there is nothing left... unfortunately there is nothing about it on the website.

Very cute, delicious and vegan friendly place! Went for the Lauch- & Kräuter-Knödel. The vegan option is served with olive oil instead of butter and Parmesan. The Speck- & Steinpilz-Knödel und Kräuter Topfen Nocke were also good.

We had super delicious dumplings and an Aperol Spritz on a Friday evening. We didn't have a reservation and got a seat outside without any problem. Prices normal for Munich standards. We'll definitely be back :)

Very warm welcome, by 2 very smiling employees, we were seated inside the terrace was reserved, the knödel are really good, we only took 2 to save a place for an ice cream outside but 3 is Perfect! They are served with parmesan and butter, you can add an additional salad. The limonata offered is also great!

Around Munich for the Adele concert. My local Italian friend recommended this restaurant to me. I was amazed at how good everything really is. As if I had eaten in Bolzano. And I actually ate there.

Das Ambiente war sehr schön. Die Bedienung war auch super nett und hat uns gut beraten. Die Speisekarte war sehr abwechslungsreich und das Essen war sehr lecker. Ich würde es weiter empfehlen!

Great restaurant with very tasty dumplings. As a group we had several different dumplings but all of them were delicious and highly recommended. The service was friendly and courteous and the atmosphere was very cozy. I can highly recommend it and would be happy to come back.

The dumplings were nicely presented, but tasted just ok. There were four of us, we shared a starter and each had 3 main course dumplings and a dessert dumpling. Plus a total of 4 non-alcoholic and 2 alcoholic drinks. The bill was almost €200. Which actually surprised us a lot. It wasn't worth it to us either. I actually find the drink prices outrageous. All in all, a nice idea and a nice place. But I would only recommend it to dumpling lovers.

What a secret gem this place, a speciality restaurant that takes the simple Knodel to its fullist potential. You must try this if you are in Munich as I promise you crave it for the rest of the year. It is added to my favorites list

The food just wasn't as great as you would expect based on other people's stories and reports. However, it is also a matter of taste. Had a pan dumpling with cheese that was really tasty. Then another pizza dumpling and a chilli dumpling. The pizza had a lackluster taste. The chilli is suitable for the delicate-minded. Atmosphere and service was A1

I had never tried knodel before and was delighted by my first experience. I had a spinach one and a pizza one which for one person was enough food as they can be quite filling. The service was very attentive and friendly.

Nice place. Four of us ordered the “dumpling party”. We were able to test 10 different dumpling creations, which were served with melted butter and Parmesan. We liked the porcini mushrooms, asparagus and cheese dumplings best. Pizza dumplings weren't really my thing. Unfortunately the service here is overwhelmed. There was only one waiter who could take orders in the crowded restaurant. We had to wait 45 minutes for the first drink and 1h45 for the dumplings.

We had starters followed by 4 knodels. Dumplings are tasty and quite dense so 4 was plenty for both of us. Recommend having the dumplings with wine.
