A great excursion destination and an outstanding viewing platform. 5✨️ *Gastronomy 2.5 🎆 Lentils with strings & spaetzle plus a "Hugo" = €28.50 The "skin" of the strings could not be cut with the available knife. Bland taste, that was also expressed by those who were enthusiastic. 'Try it out for yourself and form your own opinion, it can definitely be better!!
The food is a joke! After visiting this place, I learned to avoid places that give their dishes meaningless names like "Tellerschnitzel"! The cheapest frozen schnitzel, "cooked to death" in the deep fryer, served with halfway decent fries, but drenched in mushy pre-made sauce! Once and never again!
Highest food quality. Very friendly service. Varied dishes. There is a lunch menu. Top price-performance ratio. Large beer garden with a playground for the little ones. There is also a separate room for about 45 people. All in all TOP! Highly recommended!
I can't say anything about the food. We waited for 20 minutes after receiving the cards, but no one came to take the order, despite asking. Then they left. Maybe next time it will be better.
Nice Swabian restaurant with changing daily specials. From small dishes to really sumptuous dishes, everything is available. The small beer garden is a real gem in summer!
Unfortunately, our waiter was very rude and not friendly (October 9th), but the food was very good and the drinks were as ordered. Unfortunately, towards the late hour the waiter stopped coming and you had to get the drinks yourself from the bar. Overall, a rather unsatisfactory experience.
Simply always super delicious and our place-to-go when we are in Stuttgart.
Great dishes (also vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free), deliciously seasoned and not as run-of-the-mill as elsewhere. Portions are also more than sufficient.
I would recommend making a reservation, but sometimes you can get a spot spontaneously (during off-peak times).
In summer you can sit in the back of the courtyard and almost forget that you are in the center of Stuttgart :)
We were there last from work, 10 people. I was particularly impressed by the food. I ordered the sour tripe with fried potatoes and can only recommend it, even if it takes some effort :). The food was very nicely prepared and it was a lot for just under €15. So great value for money. This also applies to the other dishes that were ordered at our table, from butter schnitzel to roast roast to Maultaschen. All dishes looked very tasty. A colleague complained that the selection wasn't that big, but I think it's good. Better quality than quantity.
The friendly waitress, a young woman, was also very personable.
Overjoyed, we were guided to the Naturfreundehaus, which we hadn't seen before. We sat out on the balcony with our four-and-a-half-year-old son and our grandmother. By the time I realized it was self-service, it was 2:05 p.m.
I went to the counter to order, but had to wait four minutes because—I guess the manager—she had to talk to an employee about who was working at what time.
When they finally arrived, it was 2:09 p.m., and they very rudely explained to me that food was only available until 2:00 p.m.
When I politely asked if there was anything else like a sausage salad available, I was told that this wasn't possible because they had to prepare things...
Hospitality is wonderful, but here we felt like unwelcome intruders.
The Katzenbacherhof was happy to have us.
The Naturfreundehaus Vaihingen won't be seeing us again!
