Rustic, home-style self-service cooking - cash only! We visited the Naturfreundehaus again after a long absence. It feels like a trip back in time. The only way to get to the restaurant is via a steep staircase - not suitable for people with walking difficulties or wheelchair users. Once at the top, there are a series of signs: 1. Self-service 2. No card payments When I asked if I could take a look at the menu, the answer was: please look at the boards on the wall... the truth is: there is one (!) menu - it's hanging on the wall and can be viewed... Once you've completed this procedure, you can order in advance at the cash register and pay in cash - then you get an electronic buzzer that beeps unpleasantly when your order is ready for collection at the counter. It's annoying because it's constantly beeping loudly somewhere. Newer machines just shake and don't beep. I hold the food at the counter: we both enjoyed it. With the fries, we had the feeling that the frying oil wasn't fresh. The tables weren't wiped down. Bottom line: if you like rustic, country-style dining, this is the place for you.

Delicious food at a fair price. Self-service only on regular days, but waitress service is also available for birthday parties for a fair surcharge. Overall, highly recommended!

Auf der Terrasse hat es extrem nach Abwasser gestunken das aus einem Gitterrost von unten kam. (Lecker) Das Essen war mittelmässig bis mangelhaft. Das Personal war nicht gerade sehr motiviert. Wir werden nicht mehr hingehen. 19.06.25. ca 12.00 Uhr.

The food was excellent!! And unique!! I had already imagined a Cordon Bleu when I was driving there, which the menu also offered was pork, but I saw that they were serving "real" Wiener Schnitzel. So I asked if I could have the veal Cordon Bleu. And it was no problem. The kitchen and staff said that whatever they had could be made!! Simply super friendly, helpful, and uncomplicated!! The meat was perfectly cooked, they didn't skimp on the cheese, and the fries were amazing!! A self-service restaurant with great service for its guests! Highly recommended!!!

The best restaurant for miles around! The food is a dream! Excellent value for money. My great-grandfather has eaten there, as has my grandpa. The whole family loves to come here for good food. We recently had a funeral with 48 people. The service was great; even though we arrived an hour early and there was only one server there, the drinks came super quickly. Many restaurants could learn a thing or two from this!!! We ordered a buffet, and it left nothing to be desired. I think not only were we happy, but also someone up there in heaven who was able to see the happy faces despite the special circumstances. Thank you so much to the entire team! You were able to put a smile on our faces despite this sad day 🙏

I only drank a shandy. And that was delicious. And what was on the menu sounded delicious too. The garden is beautiful :-) We will try it.

We come to the Nature Friends House regularly. The selection of the menu and the daily menu are extensive. The daily menus in particular are TOP in terms of quality and price👍 It is particularly pleasant to sit on the terrace. If you get there in time, you can get a parking space without any problems 👍 The Naturfreundehaus is a good address and highly recommended 😋.

Full of joy, we navigated our way to the Nature Friends House, which we had never known before. We were all really hungry and discovered the Naturfreundehaus nearby via a Google search. We sit out on the balcony with our four and a half year old son and our grandma. By the time I realized it was self-service, it was 2:05 p.m. I went to the counter to order, but had to wait 4 minutes because - I guess the boss - had to talk to an employee about when and who was working. When they were ready, it was 2:09 p.m. and they explained to me very rudely that there would only be food until 2:00 p.m. When I asked kindly whether there was something else like a sausage salad, I was told that this wasn't possible because things had to be prepared... Hospitality is a wonderful thing, but here we felt like uninvited troublemakers. The Katzenbacherhof was happy that we came. The Naturfreundehaus Vaihingen won't see us again!

The naturfreundehaus Vaihingen has a good kitchen, self-service and enough space in the restaurant. The ambience can be improved. Always a good place to go to a regular's table with a large portion of schnitzel. Now maybe more if you can also use the terrace.

The food is good, the location is clean. The lady at the counter is impossible though!! In a bad mood, slow and obviously annoyed!! Every time again!! Unfortunately, the playground is no longer as well maintained as it was in recent years when the (no longer existing) club took care of it.

Typical home cooking from a tourist restaurant (schnitzel etc.) with self-service, very tasty apple spritzer and the cooking seems to be fresh. Only the ketchup is distributed very sparsely and more than one sachet has to be paid for directly. The furnishings are old and simple but well-kept and emphasis is placed on decoration. If you're nearby and feel hungry, you should try the Naturfreundehaus.

A bit off the beaten track am I reading? Well, you can park your car right in front of it and take a digestive walk in the beautiful forest. The map is manageable, I read? Well, you have at least 15 dishes to choose from, desserts, cakes, daily specials, promotions, etc. and all at a very good price-performance ratio, the cuisine is down-to-earth, good, the quarter prices are not exorbitant, what more could you want? Worth visiting in summer and winter, everything is very cozy here. Top!!

You can go there, a little out of the way, self-service, but moderate prices and the food is good. When it's full it can get a little louder, but all in all it's ok.

I recently stayed at the Naturfreundehaus Vaihingen and am absolutely satisfied with the price-performance ratio. The food was excellent, with lots of home-made dishes, which I would particularly like to highlight as positive. There is a good selection of fresh, tasty dishes that are lovingly prepared. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the toilets were also very clean, which contributed to a pleasant stay. The large meadow is particularly beautiful, where children can play while you can enjoy the quiet, relaxed location. All in all, a clear recommendation for families and those looking for relaxation!

Best little gem near Patch. Host a lunch or going away or pre dev event here. You can walk the 12-15 min and it’s a really nice walk to a super nice little spot. They don’t speak much English but enough people come there you can point and communicate. Highly recommend.

Self-service ❗The food and drinks are ordered and paid for. You can then take the drinks with you to your table. You get a beeper for food. When the food is ready, the beeper beeps and you have to pick it up yourself. Our group (9 people) enjoyed the food 😀 It's a nature lovers' house where you can eat very well, with your own help. The prices were okay 😃 The only thing that bothered me was that another person constantly had to jump up from us to get his food. I found that very uncomfortable. If we wanted another drink or dessert, the same game all over again❗I would find it more pleasant if the food and drinks were served. But that's my opinion 🤷

Schon lange wurde ich nicht mehr so sensationell positiv überrascht. Untergebracht in einem Gebäude das an den Charme zwischen Campingplatz Verwaltung und Freibad Eingang der 90er erinnert überzeugt Günter gleich durch seine ganz eigene Art. Goldig steht er hinter der Theke, empfängt jeden Gast persönlich und weiß über das Essen, die Region und andere kleine Anekdoten zu berichten. Die Küche lässt keine Wünsche offen, ist bodenständig mit einem wundervollen Touch moderne. Extrawünsche werden gern und schnell erfüllt. Für uns war der spontane Besuch das highlight in der Region.

It's a shame that there is no service at the table and some of the cosiness is lost. However, this is made up for by very tasty food at a more than fair price.

So I can't understand the negative reviews about the food, so far everything has been very good. If something doesn't taste good, you complain about it at the counter and it will definitely be replaced. But you don't give a stupid rating like inedible, show strength and write what was bad and above all always write the truth. I would also give it 6 stars.

The service was very unfriendly, nothing for a restaurant... the food is not recommended either... a disappointment for me... I've known the Naturfreundehaus since it existed but will only go there again when there's been a change of tenant... a disappointed guest...

The lady at the counter (self-service) had probably enjoyed the food from her own kitchen. There was no other way I could explain the reason for her bad mood. No recommendation at all

Super nice location in the green, sometimes good food, but now often over-seasoned (too much of everything, including salt), depending on the service at the counter, from friendly to permanently very unfriendly and irritable. Rarely but it has happened, unannounced waiting time for food of over ONE hour. A little more friendliness, customer service and less spice could bring it back to its former glory.

Found by chance. Pretty terrace, nice location on the edge of the forest, delicious schnitzel with tasty breading. Tender meatballs and Maultaschen. Great spaetzle. Gladly again!

Very tasty food and friendly staff. Card payment was not possible, but we were able to pay with Paypal. In summer you can eat wonderfully on the well-kept terrace.

The food is very good and beautifully prepared. Price/performance fits. The rooms are lovingly decorated. But we will only go there on Wednesdays because the lady behind the counter is much nicer and friendlier than the one who works there the rest of the week.

We celebrated here with 80 people and were very satisfied. Everything went well, the planning went smoothly, the staff was very friendly, everything was relaxed and we were able to enjoy a lovely celebration.

Today we had a great evening at Naturfreunde and the food was unbeatably good. Best currywurst sauce I've eaten in a long time. Cordon bleu is unbeatable and there is no better one. Great value for money. Keep it up . I'll be back . 5 stars are not nearly enough.

Extraordinarily good food, I would say sophisticated, home-style cooking. From offal, schnitzel, Gaisburger Marsch to filled pasta with asparagus, everything is there. There are also meat-free dishes. A large selection of wine at fair prices as well as four barrels and exquisite brandies round everything off. The decor is a bit 80s. Upholstered corner benches and chairs. MSV tried to spice things up with the decoration. Is OK. In summer you can probably sit outside great. Unfortunately only self-service. Order at the counter, pay and pick up when the pager beeps. But at least it works well and you get your food warm. Disadvantage. I suspect that if several guests sit at the table it will be uncomfortable due to mass migration and I don't know whether everyone will get their food at the same time. But I will definitely go there more often. The menu is simply very varied.

The schnitzel was very tasty, crispy, juicy, good fries and fresh salad, really plentiful. A bit of a lot of salad dressing, but that's a matter of taste. Friendly staff. The only point deducted for: no card payment, you can only pay in cash. I find it stupid.

In grösseren Abständen waren wir immer wieder hier - und bisher auch immer zufrieden mit dem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis...aber dieser Besuch wird wohl unser letzter gewesen sein! Ich erwarte keine Sterneküche von einem Naturfreundehaus, auch wenn die sogar bei Pächterwechsel nicht einen Deut aufgehübschte Einrichtung kein angenehmes Einkehr-Feeling aufkommen lässt in dieser lieblosen uralt Einrichtung ! Meine Wahl fiel bei der äusserst an Freundlichkeit reduzierten Wirtin? an der Theke auf die angebotenen Nieren! Jene waren so gut wie keine in der pampigen viel zu eingedickten Sosse zu finden ( ein paar winzige Teilchen von Nieren !), die überdies hart an der Grenze des versalzens war - ansonsten vollkommen Geschmacksneutral! Für immerhin fast 15 € absolut nicht günstig - was gepasst hätte wenn.... Zu viel des nicht akzeptablen : dunkelste abgewohnte niemals aufgehübschte uralt-Einrichtung - keinerlei sympathische Freundlichkeit ohne jegliches lächeln an der Selbstabhol-Theke - Qualität der Speise unterirdisch!

Wir haben hier mit unserer Familie (20 Personen) nach vorheriger Absprache und Buchung ein super Fest gehabt. Das Essen war super super lecker. Nicht nur uns sondern auch unserer Familie hat es geschmeckt. Persönliche Empfehlung ist Zwiebelrostbraten aber auch die Pommes sind speziell und super lecker.

Leckeres Essen, nette Quasi Bedienung, ('Selbstbedienung) man kann schön draußen sitzen und es gibt Parkplätze. Was will man mehr? Bernds One Man Band

Sehr schöne Ort nach einem Spaziergang fürs Essen einzukehren. Wir waren zum Mittagessen mit vorheriger Reservierung zum 40. Geburtstag. Es einen kleinen Salat, zur Hauptspeise schweinemedalion mir Pilze dazu Spätzle, Pommes und Rösti. Für die Kinder Schnitzel. Wir haben mit Bedienung reserviert ansonsten ist dort Selbstbedienung. Das Essen war köstlich und heiss und wurde durch Warmhalteplatten warm gehalten. Auch wenn die Gaststätte rustikal ist war es sehr gemütlich durch die herbstliche Dekoration. Es war ein gelungerder Start zum Geburtstag. Vielen, lieben Dank dem gesamten Team.

Das Essen ist echt klasse, eine abwechslungsreiche Karte und bodenständige sehr gute schwäbische Küche bietet dieses Restaurant. Sehr gute Qualität zu vernünftigen Preisen. Das Konzept mit Selbstbedienung und Barzahlung ist für uns kein Problem. Das Restaurant liegt idyllisch im Wald von Vahingen und hat auch eine schöne Terrasse. Tip: unbedingt auch einen Nachtisch probieren, der war krönender Abschluss, das hätten wir hier so nicht erwartet. Wir kommen wieder.
