I can still remember the opening well. I had just returned from my vacation in Greece and found a piece of Greece in this little shop. I used to love coming here and was thrilled every time! Unfortunately, the shop has slowed down a lot since Corona - I think this was mainly due to the change in staff (e.g. staff that simply dyes their hair in the hairdresser next door and doesn't serve guests) - and is now no longer open at all. It's a shame that the store was so great and delicious at the beginning...
A visit to the “Poseidon” restaurant was like a little trip to Greece – a real treat for the senses! As soon as we entered we were greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The loving decoration, the soft light and the quiet Greek music in the background made us immediately forget everyday life.
The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The staff always tried to fulfill our every wish without seeming intrusive. We were particularly impressed by the warmth with which we were welcomed and served.
But the real highlight was of course the food. The grilled octopus was simply spectacular – tender, perfectly seasoned and with a hint of smoke that rounded out the dish. Every bite was an experience that brought us closer to the taste of the Mediterranean. The side dishes, such as the fresh tzatziki and the crusty bread, were also excellent.
The menu offered a wide selection of authentic Greek dishes, each of which promised a culinary delight. Our evening was perfectly rounded off with a homemade dessert and a glass of ouzo.
“Poseidon” is a place we will definitely return to. It's not just a restaurant, but a little oasis where you can unwind and feel the Greek joy of life. Absolutely recommended!
The food was, as always on our visits, very good. This time we opted for vegetarian dishes (beans & broccoli with tomato sauce and feta cheese). With the beautiful March sunshine, some guests were already enjoying the sheltered terrace. It's also great that Mythos is open on weekdays, even outside of the season.
Good evening, this review has been a decade in coming but here it comes.
My first encounter with this woman (blond, waitress, slightly older) was about 10 years ago when my nephew was just 10 - 11 years old and had never tried Greek food. I (28 years old at the time) thought I would invite him over and so we went into this juice shop. She looked very scrutinizing and judgmental, which I noticed but was pretty indifferent to. Everyone can look however they want. Before we got the menu she asked seriously how the boy felt about me 😳 which was very unpleasant, I would even say outrageous. But they stayed anyway. Afterwards we browsed through the menu and the nephew asked me "what's the gyros?" I answered something like kebab meat, at least in terms of appearance. Then she came from behind again, without being asked and relatively unfriendly, she intervened in our conversation and said that I was completely wrong and that I shouldn't compare gyros with kebab meat. After this fiasco, I haven't gone for the last 10 years. Last month, November 2024, I went in with my wife and children even though I didn't really want to, but the family wanted to try it and I was persuaded to go without incident this time, although unfortunately there was a misplacement of a waitress or whatever she was there power was still there.
Today, December 13th, 2024, we ordered 3 meals from the company for pickup at 6 p.m. and then when I was there I noticed that the prices didn't match the downloaded menu (2022), it was significantly more expensive and it would be fine If this head waitress didn't answer my question about whether the prices online hadn't been updated yet with a grumpy counter question: "Why shouldn't they be up to date?" I, in turn, asked her in a calm voice why she was bothering I'm so upset, it's a legitimate question because many restaurateurs don't... and then she snapped at me again without letting me finish, "this question isn't justified."
Good woman, apart from the poor quality and the measly portions of what we unpacked in the company, they have been disgusting to their customers for decades and I ask myself how can these amateur restaurateurs even survive, many have gone bankrupt last 3 years where I would never have thought it but they are still there...
This restaurant was really good when it was called Grünauer Hof.
I'll never come back and I'll advise everyone I know against it.
The food was typically Greek, good. The ouzo was very good. Very friendly staff. The atmosphere was okay; we'll try the outdoor area again in the summer. Highly recommended.
