Hellas in Bad Driburg

It was very nice, the owner took time for us. Very friendly and entertaining. The food was excellent, the meat perfect.

Too bad there's no wheelchair access. And no sign of stairs at the entrance :-( With the current weather conditions, you can't sit outside.

We had a delicious meal. I enjoyed the Rhodos teller, especially with the mushroom cream sauce and sambal on the side. The service was attentive. The atmosphere was initially rather quiet without music. The restaurant is cheerfully decorated in Greek style.

I've been a regular customer for years! The food is great, and Paul (owner and server) has character and is an ideal host! I highly recommend it to everyone.

The service was very inattentive, and the table was only cleared of obvious leftover sauce from previous diners after being asked to do so. The gyro was substandard, and the appetizers were all unseasoned and surprisingly tasteless. 🤷‍♂️. It's a real shame if you were looking forward to typical Greek cuisine.

I've been there twice. It's a very quiet and good restaurant. The food arrives hot on the plate. The staff is very friendly. It's hard to beat the price/performance ratio. I'd happily go back again. Keep it up.

One star for Hellas Restaurant in Bad Driburg. I went there for a simple glass of dry rosé, as I was returning from the hospital and was longing for some relaxation. To my astonishment and deep disappointment, I was asked to leave the restaurant simply because I didn't want to order food. The manager also told me that he didn't want any "hospital patients" in the restaurant and that I should leave immediately. This kind of discrimination and disrespect is unacceptable. I feel deeply hurt and disappointed by the staff's behavior. Therefore, I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately it wasn't a positive experience 😕 We would have got 2 places spontaneously even without a reservation, BUT... unfortunately only cash payment, card payment only possible from 100 €(!)... and in an unfriendly tone "... that costs me 3.50 € every time..."! Yes, that may be the case (although it seems a bit high to me, how do other and especially smaller restaurants do it?). But am I interested in how the restaurateur calculates his prices? And a minimum consumption of €100 for two people is pretty steep! In any case, we didn't stay. Even though it's the first and perhaps not the last time we'll be in Bad Driburg... it's really very beautiful in Bad Driburg... but I won't see the Greek restaurant HELLAS a second time!!! Note from May 11, 2025 on the owner's reaction: This reaction fits the content of the impression left or gained - remain objective? My description of my experience as a tourist and guest is factual, that's how I perceived it - "dear" guest, if you can't read, it's your own fault and please don't ask anything. And if you, as a tourist unfamiliar with the area, don't have enough cash with you, take care of it so that you can get cash. I certainly understand the restaurateur, but the private (!) anger over the EC card fees, which I as a guest cannot change, could certainly have been conveyed more diplomatically. For example, you could have offered to charge a surcharge of €3.50 for an invoice amount of less than €100 because... But for you it was only either/or and no alternative and so after a short consultation with each other - that's probably still allowed - we left. Would you like to change your perspective? felt in our place? In any case, we were looking forward to a delicious Greek meal, because according to your reviews, you really liked the food. So we ended up at your Greek competitor (Restaurant ATHENS) about 500 m away... by the way, paying by card wasn't a problem there!

If you like Greek you won't find anything better in Bad Driburg and the surrounding area. It's plentiful, tasty and not mixed together. I would recommend it to my very best friends Keep it up👍👍

Unfortunately I can only give 5 stars, the restaurant definitely deserves more stars! Service top! Ambience great! Food great! Price performance top! What more could you want, for us the best Greek far and wide 👍👍👍 Unfortunately, card payments are only possible for orders over €100, but this is also pointed out at the entrance! Anyone who has something to complain about here is unfortunately in the wrong restaurant and is complaining at a high level!

A quaint Greek restaurant where you receive a warm welcome! We like to go to the Hellas restaurant in Bad Driburg because, firstly, we really like the service, the food and the ambience! We have sufficiently noticed the relevant information that card payments are only possible from 100 euros, so that contrary to previous reviews, there are no complaints at all! Unfortunately, I can only give 5 stars, otherwise I would give 100! We were there for rehab across the street, and all I can say is that the owner is a real character, and I didn't understand why the place wasn't opened in a nice location! The location of this restaurant alone is priceless, with a fantastic view! I wish I could get a meal like this in Cologne too! Thanks for a lovely evening. Maybe I'll be in the area again sometime, and then this would be my first stop for a delicious meal.

Super Ambiente. Sehr leckeres Essen. Der Chef ist sehr gut drauf. Wohne 150 Kilometer entfernt, werde trotzdem hinfahren um lecker Essen zu genießen.

A really very good Greek restaurant in the immediate vicinity of the outdoor pool. The food provided is very good in quality and taste. The same goes for the service and the ambience. The menu is very varied and therefore there should be something for everyone. Some parking spaces are located directly at the restaurant and are supplemented by the parking spaces at the nearby outdoor swimming pool. Conclusion: An evening in good company and good food definitely works here.👍👌

Homemade gyros and tzatziki. It was a successful spontaneous visit. Very hospitable. It won't be forgotten too quickly.

Excellent classic “Greek” as you know it and how it should be: kitsch ambience, generous portions with a lot of calories and an ouzo on the house. Bifteki, gyros gratinated, Metaxa sauce - simply wonderful!

Hello. I had lovely evenings with very good food. Good conversations with the boss and his son. Unfortunately, there are people who reserve tables and don't come. Not even cancellations! Lousy pack! So if you want to eat later in the evening, call or drop by.

..You can't really enjoy the ambience - it's just a small snack bar :) Otherwise everything was good...and tasty

Very unfriendly staff after the landlord saw our dog. Had to go to the outside terrace. The unfriendliness continued there. The staff stood in front of our table and listened very attentively to the conversation between me and my wife, instead of asking if we had another wish. The food was just OK. But it wasn't the bringer. The ambience of the outside terrace was horrible. Very simple and outdated tables and chairs. The tables were dirty. The tablecloths were probably unknown to the innkeeper. So you can safely ignore the Hellas restaurant and look for something better. At least that's my experience!!!

In the beer garden only large beers and only with a main course. The gyrus came out of the pan, greasy and warmed up. Fries were plain but okay. We weren't satisfied.

The food was delicious and really sufficient, the atmosphere was a typical Greek restaurant and the owner was very nice and child-friendly. The only thing you can complain about is that there is no possibility to change your toddler's diaper here. But definitely worth a visit for food.

Nicely decorated restaurant. You feel like you're in Greece. I had dinner there on Wednesday evening. Had a gyros pan with separate baked potato slices. The gyro was extremely tasty with the mushroom sauce and gratinated with cheese. Very rich portion. The food was at the table quickly. The young man who served could be a bit talkative. Stood at the table without saying a word when we ordered. A visit for delicious food is definitely worth it.

We decided to visit the restaurant today at the end of our stay in Bad Driburg and we weren't disappointed. Great atmosphere, nice host and great Tasty food. 30 years of Greek specialties from one and the same point of view certainly speaks for itself, thank you for the nice evening

A really great Greek! We were there with 5 adults and a baby. The staff was really very friendly and accommodating throughout. The food was delicious and very filling. The ambience was very cozy, despite being full, the restaurant was pleasantly quiet. If we're here again, we'll be happy to come back ;-) A special thanks and greeting goes out to "Grandpa Paul", really very child-friendly :-)

Food itself tastes good... but the reason we don't go there anymore is the way the boss treats his guests... very arrogant and cheeky...

There was a Reserved sign on every table. We were then moved to a corner where two other tables were already occupied. Probably to keep track of the guests or just to be lazy. Romantic candlelight dinners and private conversations were therefore not possible. Asked the waiter whether the Bifteki (105) had tzatziki and he said no. So I ordered extra tzatziki for €2.50. But it was there during the meal. So I could have saved the extra order and the €2.50. The food was average good. However, the starter salad had nothing to do with Greece. Iceberg lettuce, tomato and cucumber. The dressing was good though. Know it differently. Coleslaw, beans, tzatziki and feta cheese is actually standard. But to each their own. The prices were quite cheap. The big drawback is that there were no grilled pepperoni. There were some on the card. But only from the pan with tomato sauce. Any changes to the order will be charged €2. There was also an ouzo with the bill. However, only after I asked if there was no ouzo at the end. Conclusion: Cheap, you can do it.

After my girlfriend and I went to another Greek restaurant in the same town, we hadn't given up hope of finding a decent restaurant. We were there right at the beginning of opening hours. A relief came when many tables were decorated with a “Reserved” card. This suggested that the food was edible and the restaurant was popular. The portions were plentiful and very tasty 😋

Ich war doch sehr enttäuscht! Als wir das Lokal betreten haben viel und direkt ein Zettel „Keine Kartenzahlung“ ins Auge. Also mussten wir wieder gehen. Leider hatte der andere Grieche Ruhetag. Also habe ich Geld geholt und wir sind wieder hin. Obwohl es gegenüber einer Kurklinik liegt ist der Zugang recht schwierig. Die Tische waren alle mit „reserviert“ gekennzeichnet. Nicht aber weil so viele Gäste kommen. Es hat ehr den Nutzen die Gäste in eine Ecke zu platzieren. Dann muss man weniger laufen.Wir konnten also keinen ruhigen Platz wählen und mussten das gequatschte der anderen Gäste ertragen. Das Fleisch recht trocken. Zwischendurch wurde nicht gefragt ob man noch etwas möchte. Es wirkt alles etwas lustlos und kalt. Ich würde nicht wieder kommen!!

Klasse griechischer Küche. Immer wieder gerne zu Gast bei Paul.

Het eten is erg goed en op de bediening is ook niets aan te merken. Ambiance is natuurlijk afhankelijk van het tijdstip, dat je gaat eten. Ik kan mij zeker niet verplaatsen in de negatieve reviews.

Sind in der Reha hier und waren dort zum Essen. Saßen draußen im Biergarten. Da Ambiente war soo toll nicht. Unkraut zwischen den Gehwegplatten . Tische etwas älter. Verschiedene Stühle und Auflagen. Das Essen war gut und gerade ausreichend.. Kurz vor der Bezahlung wurden wir gefragt ob wir noch einen Ouzo möchten. Dieses bejahten wir. Die Rechnung kam. Stimmte letztlich dann nicht. Zwei Speisen waren gleich und einer bekam beide in Rechnung gestellt. Haben wir dann unter uns geregelt. Verrechnet wurde sich auch noch, so dass letztlich etwas mehr gezahlt werden musste, wie es eigentlich der Fall gewesen wäre. Das habe ich im Nachgang berechnet. Den versprochenen Ouzo haben wir ebenfalls nicht erhalten. Schade ... Preise im Internet stimmen nicht mit denen auf der Karte überein.

Gute solide Küche. Fleisch auf den Punkt zubereitet. Auch ohne Reservierung einen guten Tisch mit Ausblick bekommen. Portion reichlich wie man es in der griechischen Gastronomie in Deutschland gewohnt ist. Preise angemessen. Service gut und aufmerksam. Die schlechten Bewertungen kann ich in keiner Weise nachvollziehen. Gerne wieder

Gestern mittag da gewesen... draußen einen Platz bekommen... mir wurde schnell die Speisekarte gebracht und ich hatte auch schnell mein Getränk. Dann kam das essen.... Portion zaziki... leider kein knoblauch drin. Die metaxa Soße sah aus wie Mayo und Ketchup durcheinander gerührt... schmeckte auch nicht gut... und war einfach zuviel auf dem Teller.... das Fleisch wurde in der Soße ertränkt. Hatte Pommes dabei die waren gut....dann war da noch ne Soße auf dem Teller dachte es wäre Ketchup.... aber die war soooooo scharf und ungenießbar... Allem in allen.... kein schönes Mittagessen gehabt.... schade...

Das Essen hat eine gute Qualität und einen angemessenen Preis. Wir haben lange auf unser Essen gewartet. Allerdings gab es auch insgesamt nur drei Mitarbeiter, von denen einer die Küche alleine übernommen hat. Unter der Berücksichtigung dieser Unterbesetzung war der Service bei einem komplett vollen Restaurant besser als bei vielen anderen.

Dieses Restaurant ist außergewöhnlich. Das liegt zum einen an der wirklich guten Küche. Das Essen und auch die Portionen sind hervorragend. Der zweite Punkt ist der Chef des Hauses. Es handelt sich hier um ein absolutes Original! Ich habe mich selten so gut und willkommen gefühlt wie hier. Ein ehrliches Wort sollte jeder von uns vertragen. Dann bist du genau richtig! Ich komme sehr, sehr gern wieder!

Schönes Restaurant in angenehmer Lage und in toller Atmosphäre. Das Essen schmeckt sehr gut, von Vorspeise über Hauptgericht bis Nachspeise, aber sehr teuer und zudem kleine Portionen. Jedoch lässt der Service zu wünschen übrig. Falsche und uncoole Sprüche und schon vergrault es einem den Appetit. Wegen dem Essen ist und isst man gerne dort, wegen dem Service leider nicht mehr.

Ich hätte gerne 5 Sterne gegeben. Das Essen war wirklich lecker, der Service war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Das Ambiente griechisch....alles gut. Aber richtig nervig war, dass ständig hinter der Bar Flaschen sehr laut und brachial in den Müll flogen, dass es wohl für den Mann hinter der Bar nicht möglich war ein Glas auch leise abzustellen. Ständig wurde man beim essen aufgeschreckt. Angenehm genießen war nicht wirklich möglich. Das sollte dringend geändert werden.

Am 03.09.22 wollte ich zu Mittag mit meiner Frau, die zur Zeit im Rollstuhl sitzt, im Hellas essen. Schönes, sonniges Wetter. Die Außenterrasse rollstuhlgerecht zu erreichen. Ich meldete mich im Lokal an, dass ich mit meiner Frau draußen sitze. Von der Bedienung werde ich angeranzt, ob ich denn nicht lesen könne! Terrasse geschlossen. Ich erkläre, dass meine Frau im Rollstuhl sitzt und er mir dann bitte erklären solle, wie ich mit ihr ins Lokal komme. Seine Antwort: "Gar nicht!" Ich bin selten sprachlos, aber solch eine Antwort! Leider muss ich einen Stern geben, da sonst keine Veröffentlichung möglich ist. Ein Fall für den Gleichstellungsbeauftragten der Stadt!

Essen war durchschnittlich! Nichts besonderes! Der Wirt war sehr von sich überzeugt und hat uns einige Male „zurechtgewiesen“! Im Restaurant pro „Sonderwunsch „ 4 € Aufpreis! 1/2ltr Detmolder Fassbier 5 €!!! 0,7ltr Bad Driburger Wasser 6 € Man kann‘s auch auf die Spitze treiben! Aber wir haben den üblichen Ouso bekommen! Alles in allem KEINE Empfehlung

Griechisches Essen in großer Auswahl, auch mal etwas, was es nicht überall gibt. Sehr lecker😋 Große Portionen... Sehr freundliches Personal. Schöne Terrasse. Alles in allem: Sehr empfehlenswert für griechische Hausmannskost!

Genau so geht Griechisches Essen , super gewürzt und sehr aufmerksames Servicepersonal ! Mehrere Biere vom Fass ! Den Biergarten könnte man noch etwas gemütlicher mit Pflanzen herrichten !
