The food tastes good, but if you want to fill up, you have to order an appetizer.

Hello, We had dinner with you yesterday and unfortunately have to say that the service couldn't keep up with the food. The service was virtually non-existent. New drinks were only added upon request, and there wasn't even a welcome or farewell ouzo, even though we were promised one. Even the simplest politeness such as “Hello”, “Thank you” and “Bye” seemed to be unfamiliar to the service. The food was good, the service was a disaster.

The rooms are reminiscent of one Canteen.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant. The appetizer (grilled pepperoni) was swimming in oil and was heavily seasoned (with paprika). Some main courses and side dishes were no longer available at 6:30 p.m. Our alternative side dish (rice noodles) was overcooked and tasteless and the bifteki was very dry. Unfortunately everything seemed very careless (ambience and the staff). I also received my wine in a dirty glass.

The restaurant has clearly deteriorated in quality. The gyros tasted rancid, old and smelled unappetizing. Our reference to this was commented on with “other guests have already complained about that today, we can't explain it, it's a completely fresh skewer...” The ambience: rather uncomfortable (in the annex) and the service seemed a bit careless. In any case, we won't be coming anymore. Worst “Greek” we have ever visited. Sorry, but that's how it is...

Disappointing! Unfortunately the table wasn't clean yet...even though we were there very early in the evening. When the gyros were gratinated, the meat was cold!!, the food was complained about and was then brought back piping hot (without a word of apology) with a burnt smell from the pan... But then the fries were cold again. Unfortunately the bifteki was very very very onion heavy. The extra portion of tzatziki was very small for the price. There was special advertising for Italian drinks on the table... Isn't there anything great to drink in Greece? Unfortunately, at the end the ouzo wasn't cold either...it felt like about 10 degrees. Overall, only a well-intentioned 2 stars.

We had the appetizer platter and gyros. The food was average, unfortunately the quality and taste didn't convince us. We had a comparison with the previous year, and unfortunately there was clearly a deterioration in the quality and, above all, in the variety of the starter plate. We can't judge the ambience because we didn't eat there.

The restaurant is terrific! We ordered in advance and then ate at home. The dishes were very well prepared and packaged. It just tasted great. The best Greek restaurant!

Pure disappointment – ​​definitely not a second time! Gyros should actually be grilled crispy and well seasoned, but here it was greasy, tasteless and seemed more cooked. Schlechte Qualität beim überbackenen Giros- genauer gesagt große zähe oder verbrannte Fleischlappenbzw. Reste in Sahnetunke mit Köse überbacken - Frechheit! Auf Nachfrage, wie es geschmeckt hat- ehrlich geantwortet- der Teller war fast noch voll- es wurde mit Achselzucken überhört. Nie wieder!

We should have left the restaurant shortly after choosing our seat. The menus are dirty and have dead insects on them, and the restaurant smells of old oil The waiter was attentive and friendly - but still far from good service - drinks were placed on the front of the table so we had to distribute them ourselves. Starters arrived quite promptly and were tasty - plates were not cleared until the main courses came to the table. Unfortunately, my meal (gyros with rice) was cold, which surprised the waiter. After about 10 minutes a new plate arrived, unfortunately the food was also rather lukewarm... what a shame! I assume the tomato rice is poured into cold cups and then turned out onto the plates. However, I don't really understand how the gyros can be cold. The other dishes were okay, but the quality and taste were too inferior for the price. We won't eat here again.

Wir waren zum späten Abendessen im Metaxa, nicht zuletzt, weil es eins der wenigen Restaurants in Zingst ist, wo die Küche nicht schon um 20 Uhr schließt. Die Bedienung war zwar schon sichtlich erschöpft und etwas einsilbig, aber die Küche war wirklich gut. Unsere Lammfilets waren exzellent, der Salat knackig frisch. Die Speisekarte ist breit gefächert und preislich auf eher hohem Niveau (für einen Griechen) was vermutlich auch der sehr zentralen Lage in Zingst geschuldet ist. Das Metaxa ist eins der größten Restaurants hier, für Gruppen gut geeignet.

We were looking forward to an enjoyable evening with delicious Greek dishes. Neither the ambience nor the food could convince the restaurant to be reminiscent of a Greek restaurant. The entire meal was very bland, oily, the meat was hardly seasoned, the starter plate was carelessly prepared from a glass, and much more. The atmosphere of the restaurant is more reminiscent of an Italian restaurant or ice cream parlor. The prices are not appropriate for the quality of the dishes and overpriced.

First of all, we have been there five times on holiday in the last few years and knew that the food was only ok. There are no other Greeks (except from the same operator) in the area. Unfortunately, yesterday was the last straw. First of all, no bread/olives or similar on the house, Ouzo (we don't drink) on the bill. It wasn't crowded and the kitchen wasn't stressful. But I've never had such bad food at a Greek restaurant. One meal was number 86, sliced ​​pork fillet with Metaxa sauce and fresh mushrooms, rice and salad with feta. The “sliced ​​fillet” was three small, dry, indefinable slices of meat (could have been schnitzel meat), unseasoned. The Metaxa sauce was very mediocre without any spice. The three mushrooms were only briefly chopped up and warmed up; they tasted correspondingly spongy. Salt was almost completely missing. The salad consisted of watery iceberg lettuce (which didn't make the Metaxa sauce any better), unripe tomatoes and some cucumber. Completely without dressing. I left out the feta as requested. When I asked in advance if I could have green beans instead of the salad (also at an additional cost), I was told that they couldn't do this. The Metaxa grill plate wasn't good either. Meat with almost no seasoning and only fried, so no grill aroma and dry. Lamb tough. Fries and gyros (very greasy) were just average. The waiter was very reserved right from the start and didn't show up during the meal. When I asked him to pass on the defects to the kitchen (I didn't want a refund), he walked away almost offended. No apology or information about him passing it on. Paid a total of almost €60 for the meal, two cokes and a mocha (at least it was good). Prices on the restaurant's website are not nearly correct, the menu is out of date. Both dishes together cost well over €40. Unfortunately, that was really the last time for us there. Apparently they no longer need service. We went home that evening very disappointed.

Fast and great food. It's definitely worth dinner

Service in Ordnung. Auf dem Knoblauchbrot war das Öl ranzig und schmeckte gar nicht. Das Bifteki war trocken. Der Tzaziki war ein Fertigprodukt. Die Kroketten waren TK-Ware und nicht zu empfehlen. Ich werde dort nie wieder essen gehen.

Waren das letzte Mal vor 3 Jahren hier und immer zufrieden. Leider diesmal nicht. Gyros war zäh und schmeckte teilweise ranzig. Souvlaki war ebenfalls zäh und die Bifteki waren in Öl ertränkt. Dazu noch eher hochpreisig. Dann aber bitte gute Qualität. Service war nett und freundlich. Wir kommen nicht wieder.

Were on August 24th. around 2:30 p.m. with 4 people there! Tables outside were slightly greasy, the food was a complete disaster! Gyros in 2 different flavors and not tasty, souvlaki fried to death, bifteki tasteless! Cleared and half-full plates remained in the hatch to the kitchen for a long time, even though the staff was visibly bored! Sorry, you should avoid this Greek! There are numerous restaurateurs in Zingst who know their stuff, Metaxa is not one of them!

The food was really tasty, although the portions could have been a little bit larger. The service was top notch! It was just a bit tight to sit at our table right next to the entrance/exit and the next table next door. The prices were a little higher than usual, but that was to be expected given the location in a Baltic Sea resort. There are also a few free on-site parking spaces for restaurant goers.

Everything was great, value for money was very good, that's how Greek it should be.

Gyros was heavily seasoned but had an unusual taste. Souflaki was dry. Fries as standard. Tzatziki very weak. There was krine ouzu as a welcome, but at the end. Unfortunately there was no non-alcoholic alternative (we are used to it). Service was sometimes very lackluster. Unfortunately not recommended because the price-performance ratio is not consistent.

Were here on Sunday and again today on Wednesday and ordered the same thing again. There was a huge difference in quality! My spaghetti was baked with Metaxa sauce and cheese - the portion was smaller, very little Metaxa sauce and cheese - a disgrace for this price! On Sunday there was pepperoni on the salad, which was also saved today. We have been coming to Zingst for years and have often been guests at Metaxa and we unfortunately have to say that the quality and service have declined significantly but the prices have risen. Really a shame!!!!!

The food was plentiful and quite good... the children's schnitzel (natural, pork) unfortunately wasn't quite cooked through... the gyro salad had a lot of gyro meat, but consisted more of iceberg lettuce than anything else listed (tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers).. The tzatziki was fluffy... it's quite loud in the restaurant, you sit outside on the main street.

We had dinner quite early in the evening, free choice of seating, we chose outside, but under the roof. We were immediately served attentively, the drinks came quickly, the one starter that we ordered for three together also came with three plates. Overall, the food was very good, nothing “dramatically special”, meat was well done, I only found the lamb cutlet not so plump and there was no small salad before the main course as we know it. All of this is not a detraction, the taste is very good, well seasoned. Ambiance gets 3 stars from me, the outside area could also be given a little more “Greek flair”.

Gyros in Metaxasoße war nicht genießbar bzw. konnten wir gar nicht essen. Lammkottlets ungewürzt und voll Fett, Bifteki gefüllt war okay, aber geht viel besser. Pommes, na ja und noch nie so schlechte Kroketten gegessen, was kann man bei TK Fertigprodukten so falsch machen?! Wir können kein besuch empfehlen.

I get better at Saganaki - parsled, bad-tasting cheese. And even the decorative pepperoni tasted rabid. Can't understand the 4.1 star rating on Google. The 3 stars on Tripvisor correspond more to reality. I give 1 star for the service, the food doesn't deserve one.

Rooms not suitable for a Greek restaurant, conditions were very friendly, the portions were good and the taste was ok.

The meat was not seasoned well. Unfortunately, the fries and rice tasted like nothing. They charged 6 euros for a garlic baguette!! However, it looked like a baked roll - so the price for it is unacceptable. Service was nice. But it all happened very quickly. Overall, we were annoyed by the prices being way too high for such poor quality.

Everything was wonderful (portions were right, prices too) What more could you want?

The metaxa was great, the fillet sliced ​​was not seasoned and I didn't like it at all. My husband had a mixed platter with gyros and meatballs, unfortunately the mince wasn't cooked through. There was no apology. They took it with them and fried it again. All in all, I wouldn't recommend it, there is a Greek restaurant at the Experimentarium that is highly recommended.

Schuster stick to your lasts - we had dolmadakia, garlic bread + 2x gyros with Metaxa sauce and croquettes. Everything was very, very tasty and the service was attentive. I can't say anything about something that "stands out" like lamb. But everything above was great. Gladly again. 👍

Before it went very quickly, but it was still empty even at 5 p.m. The food, ???? . Salad on the plate from the main course that was popular in the 70's, some of the gyros were burnt and some were raw, the best was the middle. The lamb chop wasn't cooked through (red in the middle and lamb has to be eaten hot) which is what we always do because it doesn't get dry. No, I can't recommend it.

The food was quite good and served quickly. Bifteki unfortunately over-seasoned. The portions are not overly large; hungry guests may not be able to get enough. But then dessert fits in! The restaurant offers a lot of seats. If they are all occupied, the operator definitely has a personnel problem.

The food was served far too quickly (after 4 minutes) ... to be anything like freshly cooked, the kitchen was probably at Harry Potter's school!!! All joking aside: We really didn't expect star cuisine and are happy to pay the corresponding price... the kitchen performance needs to be corrected as soon as possible... because the Metaxa Zingst really has nothing to do with a Greek restaurant... and is unfortunately not recommended!

Delicious food in large portions, the Smurf plate (gyro plate with fries for children) is enough for two children. The service is very child-friendly and fast. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back.
