Update 11/25: Here again on a Saturday evening. The service was quick, friendly, and attentive. The owner, as usual, was present and always in a good mood. Delicious...affordable...a cool location that combines tradition and style. The location is beautiful, the food is very good. The restaurant is constantly evolving, with the menu regularly updated. A classic Greek restaurant with trendy dishes. Portions aren't huge, but perfectly adequate. Prices are reasonable. Great for children, with a playground and plenty of space.

We've been to Poseidon several times and are always impressed. The meat is juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. When the weather's nice, the lovely beer garden is a great place to relax. The entire staff is attentive and courteous, making you feel very comfortable. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

I have known this restaurant for a long time but have not been there for a while. Because of the mixed reviews I wanted to see for myself. As for the location, first of all the spot in the forest is perfect, just drinking a beer in the green is an inviting place to do so. The service was great, there were two of us with a dog and we could choose where we wanted to sit, everyone was very dog-friendly, several waiters served us or asked us, drinks and food were brought on time, everyone was always friendly even when the beer garden was 80% full. The food was really good, there was nothing to complain about in terms of taste and there was really plenty of it, we will definitely come again.

Our phone reservation for the evening of July 5, 2025, for four people went smoothly. Parking is free and there are plenty of bike racks. Surrounded by trees and shrubs, the "Poseidon" has a large outdoor dining area (300 seats). We really enjoyed the greenery and the tranquility. It was clean, and inside there's an open fireplace, which is heated with real wood in the winter – cozy! There's also a small side room and a banquet hall for parties. The service was very friendly, cheerful, and attentive. All the dishes were plentiful and delicious. The price is reasonable, too. It's not closed on any day! We'd happily recommend it and will definitely be back from the Maxhof ;)

It's a shame, it used to be very good, but unfortunately, I can't recommend it in any way! There's no third chance!!! Overall, the food was of poor quality and the service was totally inattentive and disinterested! The warm starter and main course arrived at the same time – the squid rings were then kept warm, so that they were all crumbly and tough and returned almost untouched! A good, attentive waiter wouldn't have served it at all, but would have asked what was wrong when they were serving – that's the subtle difference! Some of my friends' meals were forgotten, arrived late, or were only lukewarm! Desserts somehow went under the radar, but, to be fair, they weren't charged for either! You don't have to constantly complain, but you can learn your lesson!

Very tasty food, good selection

I was there for dinner today. The restaurant was very dark, it was also very warm, and it took a long time for the food to be served. My main course (3 skewers with fries, pita, and salad) was definitely too small for the price. And we weren't offered ouzo, which you get at most Greek restaurants before or after your meal. Hence, 3 stars from me.

It's been almost two weeks since we were there, but I still want to share my review. One point deducted because we had to wait 45 minutes for our appetizer platter. Only when we pointed out to the waiter that our table neighbors, who had arrived after us, had already received their hot meals and we hadn't even gotten our appetizer plates did he arrive. And the place was nowhere near full. When we ordered a second pita bread later, it took another 20 minutes. The second point deducted is because for about two years now, the only side dishes available have been salad, sometimes baked potatoes, but no steamed/grilled or otherwise cooked vegetables. Unfortunately, like many others, I can't tolerate raw vegetables in the evening. That's it for me with the Poseidon in Forstenried, even though the beer garden is really nice in the summer. There are many other Greek restaurants in Munich!

The best waiter is Nikos. The service is perfect. The atmosphere is great. The food is good. We've been coming here for 14 years.

Update June 2025: Unfortunately, I wouldn't give it 4 stars anymore... the portions are significantly smaller, and the prices have increased. And the service wasn't exactly friendly or polite... I don't want to be spoken to in a rude and snippy manner as a guest!

I spontaneously went there again after a long time. I actually like quaint places, but the place is just dark, gloomy, and outdated inside. Unfortunately, it was too cold outside for a beer garden. The only thing was that the food was good. Our waiter was friendly but a bit too well-intentioned, almost pushy. One waiter, or whatever he is, blatantly scratched his crotch several times, which we took turns seeing, and then walked back and forth outside smoking. Truly antisocial behavior! I paid €65 for two people, which I'm happy to pay, but not in such a horrible place. Therefore, never again!!!

Great food and atmosphere. We stopped by after a hike in Forstenrieder Park and were able to eat outside in the pavilion, right next to the playground, which was perfect. Very friendly service, and the food was also very good.

An absolute failure! The worst service I have ever experienced. Ignorant, unfriendly and completely overwhelmed. After we politely pointed out the deficiencies, they no longer wanted to serve us and even tried to prevent us from paying - what's the point? We had to wait forever for everything even though there was hardly anything going on. The food was of poor quality - more ice than drink in the glass, and what was served tasted cheap and bland. The beer garden? Totally run down - broken furniture, dirty, everything seems abandoned. A place I really can't recommend to anyone. If you eat here, it's your own fault.

Unfortunately the food was just mediocre. The rice was tasteless. The gyro was ok. The skewer was a bit tough but edible. Unfortunately the tzatziki was rather tasteless. The beer garden is great.

Wonderfully celebrated Easter. Everything was very tasty, service was quick and nice. After New Year's Eve we also celebrated Easter at Poseidon and always went home happy and satisfied.

It used to be better! For me this restaurant has gone downhill... As soon as the order is placed, no one really cares about it anymore... You always have to look when the service runs by and wave loudly (...despite the fact that it's not very busy), and then when you have something to complain about, you roll your eyes as you leave! The taste of the food was poor, the slice of lamb was 50% fat! Add a dollop of rice. You accept that prices in restaurants have risen due to the economic situation. But that also makes you ask yourself: “Is it still worth it???” Nah!

We have been eating here for a very long time. Because it really is super delicious. The boss is very accommodating, always greets us and is always in a good mood. And now the Poseidon has super friendly waiters again. We wanted to visit the restaurant again after the change of tenant and were not disappointed. The menu has become more varied (great daily menu with creative dishes), the food is lovingly prepared and very tasty, the staff is friendly and efficient and the furnishings are tasteful. I've been there three times in two months now :-)

Very disrespectful behavior from the tall young waiter. He mocked and ignored us right to our faces when we tried to order. This behavior does not fit the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Unfortunately, I didn't feel welcome as a pick-up person. I ordered by phone and they weren't happy on the phone that I only ordered one meal. When I got there I didn't feel welcome either and when I didn't give a tip I think I was down. Neither friendliness would have been any better if I had eaten there. The staff was a bit unfriendly on the phone and the food was so bad. The gyro was quite chewy. I'm still looking for the garlic in the pita. The sakat floats in the ready-made yoghurt dressing. That really wasn't worth 20 euros. This will probably be our last time there

Been here last time. Food was always okay, but if you're brought to a table and no one takes your order after 25 minutes, that's an absolute no-go. Then we left again. It was also disappointing that when I asked, they said someone would be there soon, but after 10 minutes nothing happened. And no, the store wasn't packed.

We ordered 15 vegetable appetizer plates for our summer garden party. Everything was very well prepared for us to pick up and transport. It tasted great and there was enough quantity. Our guests were thrilled. Definitely full marks
