Restaurant Poseidon in Krefeld

A visit to the “Poseidon” restaurant was like a little trip to Greece – a real treat for the senses! As soon as we entered we were greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The loving decoration, the soft light and the quiet Greek music in the background made us immediately forget everyday life. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The staff always tried to fulfill our every wish without seeming intrusive. We were particularly impressed by the warmth with which we were welcomed and served. But the real highlight was of course the food. The grilled octopus was simply spectacular – tender, perfectly seasoned and with a hint of smoke that rounded out the dish. Every bite was an experience that brought us closer to the taste of the Mediterranean. The side dishes, such as the fresh tzatziki and the crusty bread, were also excellent. The menu offered a wide selection of authentic Greek dishes, each of which promised a culinary delight. Our evening was perfectly rounded off with a homemade dessert and a glass of ouzo. “Poseidon” is a place we will definitely return to. It's not just a restaurant, but a little oasis where you can unwind and feel the Greek joy of life. Absolutely recommended!

Vomiting and stomach pain 4 times…. Unfortunately the food wasn't good!

Wonderful restaurant, great Greek dishes. Their grilled meats are very delicious. They have many traditional Greek dishes. They have a variety of combinations of different kind of meats.

Always good there and food you can't eat you can take home

A dedicated service for everything. Whether greeting from the boss, drinks, ordering food, services and service and paying the boss again, it's a bit complicated. But everything is ok. The food is typically Greek. Tasty but not super special.

Over 2!!!! Hours of waiting for a main course! And then a super unfriendly answer when asked, instead of an apology! Never again! It's a shame, this is how you ruin a restaurant's reputation!Bravo👏

Christmas dinner December 25th 2024 Totally overwhelmed! Food bad. Warmed up fries. Some orders forgotten. Burnt appetizer! To pay, it's better to set up a machine like in the parking garage. That was also a disaster. Not again!!!!

Food only brought after 2 hours, unfriendly staff, never again!

If I didn't have beer I would have starved. Way too full and they keep letting more guests in. Prices have also increased extremely (be careful, beer Pils 0.5 L costs €5.50!) The food tasted good and fresh, but by the time it arrived you no longer had an appetite.

Last shop. Rude to the point of not being possible anymore. Were yelled at. 10 days of diarrhea. Never again.

We had reserved the bowling alley today with 20 people. Without us being informed, the shop was closed unannounced. Unfortunately the same thing happened 2 years ago. That's more than unfortunate, because with so many people you can't get anything else so quickly. Unfortunately, this unreliability is unacceptable.

Hello dear gyro lovers, the Poseidon restaurant offers stable cuisine at stable prices. I would especially like to praise the delicious gyros. I had the No. 69 (mixed grill plate) and was not disappointed. The meat was delicious and grilled to perfection. Unfortunately, the fries were few and far between and without ordering additional tzatziki, the sauce served with the dish ran out after 3 bites. We were eating with a larger group and the drinks and menus were brought to our table promptly. All in all, I will happily come back. Maybe I'll even get an extra fry.

Really delicious food in a nice restaurant. I had the gyro plate, the gyro was mega. Unfortunately, a bit of saving was made on the side dishes and there could have been a little more of the delicious tzatziki. The prices are normal and do justice to the good taste. I'd love to come back.

All in all, super nice staff and the food was great

We were transported to a loveless "hall"... which was not sufficiently heated. We were a group of 12 people, the food was bland, and then again at times we had to send it back... waiters were sometimes overwhelmed with their task. It's actually a shame because that's not how I remembered the restaurant.

We were there on Christmas Day and the food was cold. The boss was totally overwhelmed and very unfriendly. I won't eat there again.

The staff is unfriendly and seems totally overwhelmed. Saturday evening, the restaurant was full, just before Christmas. Nevertheless, you can be nice and friendly and not "throw" the food on the table in an unfriendly manner. Separate the bill, everyone pays for drinks and starters themselves. The main courses are billed as one bill, which was too much to ask for and the staff was completely overwhelmed (for 12 people). The food was carelessly prepared, but tasted good. Card payment only possible from 20 euros. Today I can pay for a roll at any bakery with a card. You should slowly learn to move with the times.

Surprised at how big the restaurant is but still cozy and very nicely decorated. The service is very friendly and there for you very quickly. The food is also very good and recommended, and the price is also reasonable for the amount you get on your plate.

Really good food at reasonable prices. We have been here with various family members and the gyros were always juicy and crispy and the fries were fresh and hot. A recommendation if you have been to the zoo or are nearby. The service is also very quick and friendly. You can feel comfortable here!

Four of us were there on a Saturday. The restaurant was well attended and we received a friendly welcome despite the high number of visitors. After a short wait we were seated. Another waiter wanted to seat people who arrived later at a free table earlier, the boss saw this and intervened immediately, very commendable. After we sat down, a friendly lady picked up the drinks and another gentleman noted down the food a short time later. In our opinion this was very well organized. As a result, the drinks came promptly and the food came very quickly. The food all tasted very good, only the gyro was very rich in fat in our opinion. We will definitely continue to eat there.

First and last visit. I'll start with the positive. The ambience is very nice, there's a lot of effort put into it. I also liked the seating arrangement and especially the fact that they have high chairs for children. The swing in front of the restaurant is a bit battered, but not everyone has it, so I say it's great , Parking space for everyone is also great. Let's get to the negative part, I just found the staff extremely unsympathetic and listless, I didn't know where I had to pay because I'm a card payer, then tell me at the checkout I don't even know where I then walked back and forth with my wife and child like an idiot. As I said, first time in the restaurant. In my opinion, if you don't feel like working then go to the employment office and let people work who also feel like it and the customer too with a smile, can meet nicely. The starter was delicious, the tomato soup was good, not too little bread, I think that's good too, but at €6 for the soup, the bread can be crispy, well, I just thought the salad was good too There wasn't enough, it looked like it shouldn't be too expensive and it was kept very simple, not a single olive, no parsley for the look, no pepperoni, nothing very simple salad that you get with every snack. I had gyros with metaxa and cheese gratinated, Meat wasn't edible for me, 17€ for the dish and then it's full of fat, the sauce was great, I'm not saying the cheese is just cheese, cheese tastes good too but meat wasn't good. I ended up paying 70€ for 2 adults and one Child paid.

As always very good, always happy to come back.

Delicious Greek food for meat lovers

Very nice atmosphere and good food.

Were there today for the first and unfortunately the last time. The food was very carelessly prepared and the plates were more or less slammed onto the table. When we arrived we asked if it was possible to pay by card, it wasn't a problem, but when we wanted to pay separately we were asked rather harshly if we didn't have any cash. And I think the staff is only allowed to smile in the basement. Not nice.

Very, very good Greek food, portions are smaller but of the best quality. Service and staff 1A.

I would be invited to a birthday party. A table was set up for us there. I was a little surprised when 6 out of 8 people took out their cigarettes and started smoking in the dining area. I was suddenly put in a situation that I hadn't experienced in almost 20 years. It was a huge room full of walls. If you want, you can experience the old days there. But don't forget to take your friends with asthma or heart disease with you.

The food was super tasty and the prices were great! The ambience is very large and beautifully done. Unfortunately we weren't that enthusiastic about the service, especially ordering the food took forever... and unfortunately the gentleman wasn't really friendly either. Very unfortunate! Unfortunately the side salad was super small. But the waiters were very nice. Since the food was delicious and the prices were good, we will come back. Hence a recommendation from us.

We ate well and the service was very friendly. But we'll be back. It was very tasty again this evening. I can also recommend the trout. Until we see you again, it won't be long.

We have often eaten at Poseidon. Today we ordered and picked up food for 12 people for a birthday. Absolute recommendation! Everything was perfect, the guests were thrilled and the price/performance ratio was great! Many thanks to the Gumas family and team, it certainly wasn't the last time!

It seems like it's asking too much to enter company holidays here. I would have liked to eat here, but drove a few kilometers for nothing

Very good restaurant with a diverse menu! From fish to meat to vegetarian, this Greek restaurant offers everything your heart desires. The majority of the dishes were freshly grilled and looked very good. I ordered a fish platter (€15.50), which came with boiled potatoes and a mixed farmer's salad. This dish was also freshly grilled and was more than worth the price. For dessert there was a sweet pancake with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce garnished with some fruit. I also drank a few freshly tapped Bitburger Pils 0.3l from the barrel. These were also more than tasty.  My conclusion: Very tasty food Very good price-performance ratio Very hospitable and nice staff Waiting times for food and drinks were reasonable- Nice and clean atmosphere- 100% recommendation! We spent an absolutely lovely evening in this restaurant, it certainly wasn't the last!

The food was very, very tasty and plentiful. The service is sometimes a little slower, but still acceptable. It's a larger restaurant and you're not on the run. I missed the table decorations a bit, but that's also a matter of taste. We had a good meal, the prices were right - we'll definitely come back😊

We didn't go for a long time because we weren't happy. It was said at the time, but it was ignored quite gallantly. Well and good, we didn't come back. Now try it again many years ago. It was tasty and sufficient. The Metaxa sauce could use a little more oomph but it was okay. We will definitely come back.

Looking for a nice opportunity to satisfy one's hunger, we arrived at this restaurant, which looks inconspicuous from the outside. Once inside, the restaurant showed itself at its best. The food, drinks and atmosphere were super tasty and inexpensive! So we were the last guests until closing time that evening and would love to come back!

Unfortunately I didn't eat through twice. Staff was a bit overwhelmed Unfortunately, the parking lot is not very visible, which means you drive past it quickly.

For me it's still the best Greek in Krefeld.

Centrally located Greek restaurant. The ambience is a bit confused. The guest room is partly in an industrial look, partly in a Mediterranean, slightly Asian look, and then again has the flair of a rustic German pub. The service is friendly and has a sense of humor. Unfortunately, the food has a lot of room for improvement. The menu is a good size with typical meat-heavy Greek cuisine. However, the dishes are not that good in terms of craftsmanship. The gyros consists of large chunks of meat that aren't really brown or crispy. The bifteki hardly has any cheese filling because it seems to have already spilled out during frying. And of course, takeaway fries in Styrofoam containers become completely soggy after just 5 minutes.

It was my first time there and I was invited by friends. The ambience in the front area is very pleasant thanks to the bright, open roof and the very nice upholstered chairs. In the middle and back area it was darker and the seating wasn't as nice. The food was tasty and plenty. The service was a bit complicated because not every waiter was allowed to do everything. So we had to wait a little longer until we could place our order and the same thing later when paying. The drinks and food came very quickly. Overall recommended. P.S.: The lamb chops are wonderful.

I was there twice and had both very good and negative experiences. On the first visit with a friend, the staff seemed very stressed and not very attentive. The second time, at a larger celebration, things looked completely different. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Everyone enjoyed the food wonderfully. Rustic and well-preserved atmosphere. Very large restaurant with winter garden, child-friendly. I've known it since I was a child because my family always ate there.

What more can I say? The staff is super friendly and accommodating, no matter what, it's always there and the atmosphere is great, thanks again and again to the entire team

We really enjoy going out for Greek food and know every Greek restaurant in the larger area. But Poseidon beats them all. Exceptionally delicious food in a fantastic ambience (a wonderful winter garden). Everything is fresh and beautifully prepared to perfection. A pleasure, delicious!!! The service team is also admirable. Friendly and attentive. Visiting friends. Our search is over. Poseidon is the restaurant we have always been looking for. Just great.

We went for dinner with a group of 15 people. The orders were taken quickly. The drinks were on the table quickly. The staff is very friendly and nice. The ambience of this restaurant is completely lost due to its size. Unfortunately, the cosiness of a Greek restaurant is not there. After an acceptable waiting time, the food arrived very warm to everyone. Food and drinks are of good quality. Prices are completely acceptable. It was a beautiful evening.

Not recommended for allergy sufferers. There are no allergens on the menu, although they are subject to mandatory labeling. After complaining about the food, there was no apology from the staff.

Nach vielen Jahren haben wir mal wieder einen Versuch unternommen. Und es wir ein letzter Versuch bleiben. Das weibliche Servicepersonal ist freundlich, auch wenn nicht überragend- aber die Männer durchweg unfreundlich. Essen gibt es bei div. Griechen wesentlich besser. . Gyros? In gefrorenem Zustand geschnittenes Fleisch, zäh und von Gyros meilenweit entfern…. Alles andere essbar- mehr auch nicht. Zahlen mit Karte? Unerwünscht. Man wird unfreundlich aufgefordert, mit nach vorn zu kommen. Schade….

Let's make it short: The food is standard, or OK. Nothing dramatic. Something was forgotten here and there during the service, but what was the ultimate insolence was that we had to wait at the table for 1 hour and 15 minutes after ordering. We are used to having to wait “longer” times, but more than an hour is not acceptable. Unfortunately it was the last time.

Our starter came relatively quickly. Afterwards we waited 1 1/2 hours and were told that our food would arrive soon. After another half hour we got up and asked for the bill. Because our food still wasn't there. An apology was made, but nothing happened. I won't be going there any time soon. Update Today we were at Poseidon in Krefeld. The food was super tasty. The service was very good. Gladly again.

So there was really nothing wrong here! Fries like they were fried twice, gyros over-baked under everything... and starters way too greasy with ready-made sauce and dressing. Never ever again...

Difficult parking situation, it's possible in the small, distant side streets. Very large restaurant with many tables. Unusually many guests and therefore loud and uncomfortable. The ambience is strongly influenced negatively by the size of the lacation. The table at our place was slightly sticky. But it was cleaned afterwards. The food and service good. Fast, friendly service given the large number of guests. Reservation is definitely recommended. Conclusion: It was a nice evening with friends (unfortunately a bit loud and uncomfortable due to the full restaurant) with good food and moderate prices with friendly service.

Really unfriendly, rude service and staff. They told us to be ready at 6:30pm for our 7:00pm reservation. For this reason they made us wait for our table. The floor is oily and slippery. The air is musty. I'm not sure about the quality of the food since we didn't wait any longer.

Had a good meal, like last time. Service very friendly and attentive. Food was great👍. Ambience pleasant. Would love to come back.

Sorry, but once and never again. Waiters have to get past the toilets with the food, where the doors are also wide open. The toilets themselves, super disgusting, left behind, there were still floating around and there were a few drops on the glasses. Food was quite ok, but I expected more, especially fresh mushrooms and none from a can, where only three jumped out and got lost on my plate, and they were also very carelessly prepared. Then both doors plus the air conditioning were on and now it's getting cold again in the evening, all three measures together... pointless. I was freezing the whole time... However, our waitress was very friendly and attentive, but unfortunately that is the only positive thing about the place. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

It was a good and tasty meal. But the waiters leave a lot to be desired. No smiles, just long faces. A bright spot was a waitress, she was very friendly and smiled. It was probably too annoying for everyone else. Here, dog eat, pay and go It's a shame, I always enjoyed eating there...

We used to go to Poseidon often. The visit is no longer worth it now. Very crowded, very noisy. The food is no longer as tasty as it used to be. The bigger the restaurant, the more the quality suffers. You get something different than what you ordered. Better small and good quality.

I don't understand how you can't be happy here! We called at 5.45pm and asked for a table at 6pm for two people. We were told we could come there. When I got there I immediately saw that everything was very full. The waiter then showed us our place. I was prepared to wait an hour for the food but nothing because at 6.40 p.m. we had already eaten our starter and were there turn to the main course! Super satisfied, very tasty food, service impeccable despite the full house. We will be happy to come back!

Unfortunately our visit to the restaurant was disappointing. Despite waiting for an hour and a half, the baked bifteki was barely noticeable, as can be seen in the attached picture. I was here for the first time yesterday. But unfortunately I have to say... That's the last time for me too! Here was... Sad really!!! But I didn't feel comfortable here at all. The food went like this... Not exactly where I WOW!!! would say... Or that I absolutely have to go there again... I had menu 75. And my girlfriend had menu 215. I don't know... somehow I felt like I was in Rhodes again. Since unfortunately I can no longer change my skin color in this life and the Greeks and Turks simply cannot manage to accept or even like us Turks!? Unfortunately, I can't recommend this store to people who look similar to me! I was constantly being watched in a strange way and later at the checkout the impossible happened!!! The waiter at the checkout next to me asked his colleague which table I had, as if I hadn't even been there, but that would still have been fine, only he said it in Greek and unfortunately he said one word, which wasn't so nice was. MALAKA!!! I FIND THIS BEHAVIOR ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!! ANTISOCIAL !!! No worries ! That was the last time that 1 Turk came to you!
