Service top. The food is ok but quite weak for a Greek. Had Metaxa sauce, which in my opinion had nothing to do with the actual sauce and the fries were totally salty. You can do it, but you don't have to.

You know what you're getting. Delicious Greek food like in the village in Greece. Simply delicious home cooking without any frills. Munch. Best gratinated gyros far and wide. Top price-performance ratio. Unfortunately a bit loud which makes communication difficult. But we will always be happy to come back.

The atmosphere is really pleasant! I've known the store since I was a child and the nostalgia always draws me back. The food tastes good for the price, but overall it's pretty average. With a few beers you won't notice it anymore! I'll definitely be back.

I enjoyed the non-German food. Excellent moussaka, nice salad and anchovies nice service. Icon above the door, appears to be Plat Veronica, fits the atmosphere perfectly. In short, it's all a must to try and see. When it's all very simple but very tasty. Many thanks to the staff. Orthodox Greeks, God be with us!

Unfortunately we were very disappointed this time. I was there yesterday with my two children. They both ate gratinated gyros and unfortunately spent the whole night on the toilet bowl. There was probably something wrong with the food.

You are part of a wonderful atmosphere. We have been spending our time here regularly for years and it is unbelievable that the level has remained so excellent for so long. Thank you so much for our always great short vacation!

We come from the Netherlands, we are with family from Moers who regularly visit the restaurant here. It is truly grand, the location is truly special, you can taste the nice, relaxed atmosphere, and the food is truly fantastic. I hope to come there again. Highly recommended

We used to eat there often, but now we haven't eaten there for at least 2-3 years. Went there again today and visually nothing has changed, it's the same as always (rustic backyard tavern). But unfortunately the quality of the food has become significantly worse and the prices have gone up. The portions are smaller and costs around 35% more than before. I think it's okay to adjust the portion size because there was always a lot left over. But then at the same time raising the prices significantly and thus being on the level of a chic restaurant... I don't understand it's basically a chip shop with a large terrace. Very unfortunate!!! On the positive side, the staff is still great!

If you like it rustic, this is the place for you. A tavern like you can find everywhere in Greece. The service is great, drinks and food came quickly. Staff is very friendly and not intrusive. Since it was a beautiful summer, the restaurant was well filled. We will come back more often.

Once again super tasty, fast service, family atmosphere. Cheap. One minus point is that the main course comes much too quickly after the starter. Next time we will order it later. It's worth coming here. It's best to reserve at the weekend.

Had dinner there this evening with almost 20 people. The food was really good, the service was friendly, but the dishes we ordered were simply forgotten. None of us knew that payment was only possible in cash. You may want to point this out (in a clearly visible manner) at the entrance. It's just at the bottom of the menu. Otherwise everything is okay 👍🏻

A great place for a delicious meal. Friendly service and good value for money. The “terrace” is designed so that you can sit in the open air or, if the weather is not so good, the top is simply closed.

In the beginning we went to this restaurant very often. Ambience is like a vacation in Greece. Regarding the starters, I unfortunately have to say that the tarama tastes like nothing (reminds me of porridge). The Florini (reminded me of peppers from a jar from Lidl) are served unimaginatively on dry lettuce leaves. Can't score points with starters. Very unfortunate.

We had a very nice evening here on Friday with our women's club. The Greek restaurant on the Krefeld wholesale market gave us a friendly welcome. The food was delicious 😋 the service was very friendly and always asked questions. The highlight of the evening was when the innkeeper danced to Greek music 🎶 and some of the staff lined up. Together with the ambience of the restaurant, you felt like you had been transported to Greece. It was a beautiful, delicious and successful evening. We'd love to come back.

It's really nice to sit in summer on a semi-open terrace with Mediterranean greenery. This almost gives you a holiday feeling. Unfortunately there is only a small selection of vegetarian dishes and on our last visit we were served moldy bread in advance. However, the prices are fair.

Unfortunately this restaurant no longer has anything to do with Greek food. The mixing plate is mixed with a powder cream sauce from Maggi. The grill plate was also tough and dry. Meat is thawed from frozen and is tough. The salad that comes with it is iceberg lettuce without anything with sunflower oil and vinegar. The prices are far too high for this quality. Fries are thrown on the meat and served like at the snack bar next door! Consecutively with an invoice written by hand without the name and address of the restaurant. (This is just about making a quick mark) No Greek who knows anything about food would eat here. This snack bar wouldn't exist in Greece.

We always like to go to the Greek restaurant, mostly when we come back from Holland because we don't live that close to Krefeld anymore.

Unfortunately we were there for the last time. Everything has deteriorated from the quality of the food to the old plastic planters in front of the restaurant.

I have now visited this Greek restaurant several times. My expectations were fulfilled . We ate schnitzel, another time gyro plates and finally mousaka, the starters dolmadakia, tzatziki, pepperoni and the desserts, ice cream and nut cake. The other dishes that friends of mine had also tasted good or very good. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable in relation to the performance. The ambience is simple and practical and focused on the essentials. Gladly again

Hello, I really like going out to eat here spontaneously because you can always get a seat and plenty of good food with fast service. The opening times could be made clearer... is it open on Sundays and when?

A lovely evening with my 2nd family...since 2002. Typically Greek ambience, rustic, cozy and always nice Easter celebrations as well as New Year's Eve.

Unfortunately, the food was only mediocre, and in my opinion the price/performance was not justified. Loveless atmosphere and outdated furnishings did not leave a good impression. The staff tried hard, but waiting over half an hour for the bill is no fun.

The two of us were there for dinner. The boss greeted us personally with a handshake (something we haven't been used to since Corona, a nice gesture) and then took the drink order. The daughter of the house came later to take the dinner orders. There is nothing digital, everything is written down on an order pad (which you rarely see anymore). In the end, the lady of the house cashed in. That's what I call a classic family business. Soothing. We had a grill plate and the bifteki. Both were good. There was also salad, so we were more than full. The atmosphere is like in a restaurant on Crete or elsewhere in Greece. Very robust and functional, it creates a little holiday feeling and relaxation. In conclusion: We had a lovely time and would love to come back.

Was there again recently. In the tavern you simply feel like you are on holiday. The family is really nice, especially the younger, dark-haired waitress. Clear recommendation! 👍

Went there for the 4th time today...we ended up having gyros which were always very tasty. Today I ordered spare ribs... good idea. Sparribs were half raw...didn't come off the bone...I have to say clearly I found it really disgusting. When the waitress came and asked if it tasted good, I just replied that it would definitely have tasted good if it hadn't been half raw. There is no particular reaction to this... although your ribs have almost completely disappeared. It's a shame, I was really looking forward to it.

Rustic, with flair!!! Good Greek cuisine at top prices!!! Friendly staff. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has been declining a bit lately. So, that was the last time, I got the wrong dish, it became more expensive and it looked like a children's plate. 19.50 for a plate that doesn't fill you up isn't possible.

Was here often. Service is still very good. Unfortunately the food itself wasn't as good as last year. Ambience depends somewhat on the number of guests. It's actually good, but it quickly becomes loud and a bit more hectic when things get busy.

Very good food. Fast service and a pleasant environment. It is very positive to note that you can still eat here on Sunday lunchtime. Surprisingly, it has become relatively rare to be able to go out to eat at this time in Krefeld. Finally a restaurant that doesn't follow this Krefeld custom.

We come here especially from Duisburg to spend a "small" day of vacation 🌞 with delicious food in a Mediterranean atmosphere. We like this family atmosphere where the price/performance ratio is still okay 👍. Always my pleasure !!! 😊

Leider nichts positives, die Leber war noch roh, Gyros war trocken. Der Salat war ohne Soße ! 😡😡 Zu guter letzt war der bestellte Mokka schon mit Zucker !! Das war eine einmalige Option.

I don't rate the food or service. Why is quite simple, we actually wanted to eat there but it was such a loud atmosphere and everything was so close together that we immediately changed our mind and left again. There is definitely nothing there for a cozy evening where you want to chat. It's a shame actually

Ich hatte heute ein gegrilltes Kalbsrückensteak mit Pommes Frittes und Salat. Das Steak war perfekt, Medium, außen knusprig, innen saftig, eines der besten Steaks, die ich je gegessen habe. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis unschlagbar, € 22,50. Ich kenne so ziemlich alle Gerichte der Speisekarte, aber das Steak war einfach phänomenal gut. Immer, immer wieder gerne.

Looks like a tavern that you will come across in a costal area in Greece! Really good food and service from the staff. The prices are fair for German standards and the portions are good. There is lots of parking space outside.

Overall disappointing - we waited forever for the service, no questions were asked as to whether we wanted any more drinks, the food (fish and meat) was dry, we waited in vain for the bill for 30 minutes, so we ended up running after the service ourselves with the piece of paper to finally to be able to go...

We were here for the first time last Saturday. Another restaurant in Krefeld put us up despite a reservation. We called quickly and got a table and were greeted very friendly and nice. The service was all very nice and accommodating, humor is very important here. The waiter drank an ouzo with us and made a toast. The salad was simple, the rest of the dishes were very tasty and more than sufficient. We liked it so much that we're coming back again on Saturday with a different group. We come from Viersen and have now found our new tribe of Greeks here.

It's a shame it has changed. We were always happy to be there. The service is great but the food is. That used to be much better.

The most Greek Greek I have met outside of Germany. If you're looking for top-class gastronomy, you've come to the wrong place. But if you want to eat inexpensively in a good atmosphere, this is the place for you. Nice atmosphere, very familiar. Very inexpensive and delicious: grilled, boneless chicken thighs. Unfortunately only cash payment possible.

We were here again today after a long time. And we weren't disappointed. My lamb and beans alone was delicious. I can't understand some of the reviews. I have been visiting Greece for a good 30 years, away from mass tourism and all inclusive. Here at the “Greeks at the Wholesale Market” you can find everything that defines Greece for me. Sehr lecker und seeeehr gute, günstige Preise

Wie dieses Restaurant so rege besucht, sowie im Internet bewertet werden kann, ist mir wirklich ein Mysterium. Jegliche Speisen sind von einer derart schlechten Qualität, dass überbackenes Hundefutter im Vergleich nahezu einer Delikatesse gleichkommen würde. Nachdem von dem bestellten Essen lediglich probiert und der schlechte Geschmack dementsprechend bei der Abrechnung deklariert wurde, musste trotzdessen die volle Rechnung für drei jeweils unterschiedliche, unauthentische, aus Fettstücken bestehende Pressfleisch-Speisen beglichen werden. Personen, die das hier angebotene Essen gerne verzehren, haben entweder noch nie die „echte“ griechische Küche kennengelernt, leiden an Geschmacksverirrungen oder essen auch sonst nur Fleisch aus Massentierhaltung.

Wir waren abends da und fanden die Musik zeitweise so laut, dass man sich nicht unterhalten konnte. Leider war das Essen nur durchnittlich. Nicht nachvollziehbar fand ich, dass dort drinnen einige ältere Personen, die auf der Empore saßen, Rauchen durften. Ich weiß nicht, ob sie zu den Gästen oder zum Personal gehörten, aber Rauchen im Innenraum eines Restaurants ist ein NoGo.

Das Essen war das, was ich bei Griechen erwarte. Gyros in verschiedenen Varianten und viel Fleisch. Leider war die Musik sehr sehr laut, so dass es schwierig war sich ungestört zu Unterhalten.

Lecker essen bei Zivilen Preisen mit Chefin die sich persönlich um die Gäste kümmert.

Tolles Ambiente und gutes Essen.....ich war zum ersten Mal hier und nicht zum letzten Mal! Souflaki mit Patata und Gyros überbacken mit Metaxasauce waren lecker. Preis/Leistung sehr gut.

Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, Ambiente ist eher rustikal und locker, dennoch nicht ungemütlich. Die Portionen waren ausreichend, aber nicht üppig, jedoch für den Preis mehr als passend.

Ich gehe sehr gerne hier essen. Die Besitzer und der Kellner Tasso sind extrem nett und kümmern sich immer um die Gäste. Sehr freundschaftliches Flair, Grieschiche Nouance und tolles Essen. Die Gäste lachen hier laut ein Zeichen für, dass es denen gut geht. Ich gehe sehr gerne dahin hoffe andere auch 🥳

Ich liebe die Taverne, die mir jedes Mal einen Kurzurlaub in Griechenland verschafft. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, die Leute nett und das Ambiente wunderbar rustikal.

Die Taverne ist schon so eine Sache. Im Prinzip ist das Restaurant echt verdammt gut, denn die Speisen sind zahlreich, lecker und zu angemessenen Preisen. Ich selber gehe dort ab und zu gerne hin um ein köstliches Rumpsteak mit Pfeffersauce, Pommes und einem Salat, für nur knapp 20€, zu genießen. Dazu meistens noch ein Altbier, dementsprechend ist man mit 25€ dort verdammt gut bedient. Stichwort Bedienung: Diese ist leider nicht so das wahre, denn man hat extrem lange Wartezeiten, vor allem beim bezahlen. Dies wird vermutlich daran liegen das nur eine Hand voll Kellner (ich denke zwei) abrechnen dürfen/können. Dies dann allerdings auch mit wenig Empathie, was sich doch relativ deutlich zeigt. Das Ambiente des Restaurants macht seinem Namen alle Ehre. Man fühlt sich wie in einer griechischen Taverne, daher ist dort auch nicht romantisch mit der Freundin essen gehen sondern eher kurz alleine vor dem Termin essen gehen. Allerdings findet dort zumindest keine Diskriminierung von Rauchern statt, denn im Sommer ist das Restaurant, ähnlich wie damals im Flugzeug, in Raucherbereich und Nichtraucherbereich aufgeteilt. Im Winter, aufgrund der Wand zum Schutz vor Kälte, nicht, doch das ist nicht weiter schlimm. Ich kann die griechische Taverne am Großmarkt daher unter den Umständen des langen Wartens auf die Rechnung, der nicht gerade romantischen Atmosphäre aber der doch sehr angemessenen Preise, unter Berücksichtigung dieser oben genannten Bedingungen empfehlen.

Wir waren heute zum ersten Mal in der Taverne und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, man fühlt sich dort wie im Urlaub auf einer griechischen Insel. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Wünsche unseres 3jährigen Enkelkind wurden von dem freundlichen Personal erfüllt! - Wir kommen gerne wieder 😊

Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und das Essen kam auch schnell, anders als in manchen Rezensionen beschrieben. Aber das war es dann auch. Der Salat war eine Katastrophe ohne Dressing (s. Foto) und auch der Rest des Essens war höchstens mittelmäßig. Da gibt es einige bessere Griechen in Krefeld.

Uriges Restaurant mit guter Qualität, üppigen Portionen und sehr reellen Preisen. Das Lamm mit Bohnen: top, Bifteki: top, Fischteller Koch: top. In dem Familienbetrieb arbeiten offenbar alle gerne und alle Hand in Hand. Dass es reichlich Parkplätze am Großmarkt gibt, kommt als zusätzlicher Pluspunkt hinzu.

Sehr gutes leckeres Essen. sehr nette Bedienung alles nicht perfekt aber genau das lieben wir.

Ambiente ist toll. Allerdings wirklich super voll und der Service total unterbesetzt, so dass man immer sehr lange warten muss, sei es zum bestellen oder bezahlen. Essen fand ich nicht so gut, da sind andere Griechen besser. Bin aber auch nicht so Fan vom frittieren.

Es ist super Essen schmeckt Ich persönlich genieße immer wieder die familiäre Atmosphäre Fülle mich wie bei Mama....

Wundervoller Ort…wie eine familiengeführte Taverne in Griechenland. Wer deutsch-griechische Spezialitäten erwartet, kann nur enttäuscht werden. Hier wird wie in Griechenland gekocht und bedient.
