Unfortunately, it was very loud and chaotic; it's a shame that people think they are alone these days.

Always delicious. Picking up after ordering in advance is seamless, and the service is always friendly.

We were there with six people. Drinks and food arrived promptly. The portions were filling. The service was friendly and attentive.

If you're not familiar with Greek cuisine and Greek hospitality, you'll definitely have a good chance of feeling at home here. My grandma wanted to eat there for her 87th birthday. A table was reserved for 8-9 people, but there were only 6 of us. We mentioned this at the entrance. We were given the reserved table and the menus. Three minutes later, we were asked to move because they were fully booked that day. Well, no sooner said than done. Drinks arrived promptly. The two vegans in the group ordered various appetizers for their main course. However, ordering for 6 people seemed really complicated, as our waiter was already slightly annoyed and wanted to be surprised if everything would be okay. We then went through the order again. The food arrived in full. The gyro tasted okay, but it was cut into really thick chunks, which we didn't like. The bifteki had barely any feta filling and was nothing special. The patatas were wobbly in all dishes. The rice was okay. The appetizers (eggplant, zucchini, peppers, beans) were well received. The appetizer salad is no revelation when paired with a main course. If you order it alongside, as we did, you end up paying a whopping €3.70 per portion for a pile of coleslaw, 4-5 lettuce leaves, and a pile of sunflower seeds (if they were pine nuts, they were very hard to identify) in a rather unappealing dressing. We were asked for new drinks from time to time, but only by a few people. When a second or even a third person ordered a drink, you felt like you were being a real nuisance. The atmosphere was unfortunately made even more unsettling by the incredibly loud scraping of chairs on the floor. Felt pads are truly an innovation. Plates were already being cleared away while we were still eating. You can do that, but you don't have to. Upon request, we received the bill very quickly. Overall, the price for 6 people was really reasonable. Since my grandmother had invited us (I'll gladly repeat what I also told the waiter there - it was her 87th birthday!), she paid. The bill was passed to her, and less than a minute later, a waitress was standing behind her to collect the bill. The fact that at her age, it might just take a few seconds longer was not taken into account. The waitress stopped, and my grandmother became nervous. Finally, my brother intervened and handed over the money. We were treated much more cordially than we had been treated the entire afternoon/evening. It might have been because of the tip, or the fact that we were finally leaving. I don't know, it's hard to say. My grandmother, who lived in Greece for 40 years, was at least not impressed, and I don't think any of us will be coming back.

There was a salad which was quite good, followed by a moussaka and finally a baklava.

Great food as always! The ouzo is excellent! Whether you're just the two of you or a group, you can definitely spend a few pleasant hours here.

As a family, we love going to Odysseus regularly. From the service provided by the Ilias family to the food and the ambiance, we're always very satisfied with everything. What's special here is that the restaurant is also frequented by ice hockey players from the Krefeld Pinguine and visiting teams, so you might even find yourself sitting next to real ice hockey celebrities.

I've probably been a regular customer for almost 30 years. During that time, I've always received excellent service, and the food has always been very good. Father and son, as well as the entire team, do a really great job. I've always been greeted warmly. Even though I don't come to the restaurant often (maybe about twice a year, because I like variety) and people probably don't know me very well, I always enjoy coming here. Thank you for over 30 years of consistency and quality.

Delicious Greek food with very large portions at a reasonable price. If you can't finish everything, you can have the leftovers packed to go. Unfortunately, parking is somewhat limited.

First of all: The food was really okay. Taste-wise, nothing to complain about – we thought the evening would be quite nice. But then the service came. Or better yet, a very special kind of service experience. Never experienced anything like this before: While we were still chewing, the plates were simply snatched from under our noses – apparently, the motto "time is money" applied here. We were then kindly asked to stack the plates ourselves and place the cutlery neatly on one of them. Efficiency otherwise only seen in large cafeterias. The highlight of the evening? A waiter who calmly explained to us – and spelled(!) – how to pronounce "espresso" correctly. 🫣 Unfortunately, he forgot to actually take our order. But hey – the main thing is that we now know how to say it correctly. Oh, and even though there were still plenty of tables available, we were seated right next to a group of 30 people. Quiet evening? Not really. In conclusion: Thank you for this memorable evening, dear Odysseus. We might come back for the food sometime. For the service? Not really.

Very good restaurant for Greek specialties

Nice terrace. Service is spot-on. The portions are generous. Prices are reasonable. Parking is available on site or on the street. The food is rather average.

We can't agree with the positive reviews! We imagine a cozy meal differently... The noise in the winter garden did not allow any conversation at the table; We had to change the table on our own because it was dripping through the glass roof onto the table. Every 2 minutes a different waiter stood at the table and wanted to take orders (the wine I ordered was forgotten but charged - but this was corrected). The food was carelessly prepared, the potato slices were lukewarm and not crispy. The fillet sauce was “strange” and the salad couldn’t be beaten in terms of sweetness (excessive sugar). The best thing about the meal was the portion of zarziki and the ouzo as a welcome addition. Maybe we were just unlucky that day, but it wasn't an experience for the four of us and it wasn't tasty at all! We won't be back :-(((

Very attentive, friendly, fast service. The side salad with the seeds was delicious. It's a shame that you can only order the warm meze plate for two people. The stuffed chicken was also delicious. A little more seasoning would be good. Today there is a star deduction because the liver was extremely dry.

We were there today with 4 people. Tzaziki, Manitaria Psita and Dolmadakia Tzaziki as starters. Gyros and salad as main course. Across the board, all of the waiters were very attentive, friendly and, above all, competent. In the end we decided on 2 mousse au chocolate, and after ordering, a waiter recommended the chocolate mousse, which we also ordered (highly recommended!) Everything was excellent across the board. We'd love to come back!

A good Greek, unfortunately quite mass processing

Best service and best Greek food in a cozy atmosphere. Of course it can get louder in the restaurant when it gets fuller, but that speaks for a good restaurant. We've been eating here for over 15 years and have never really been disappointed. The food is ready so quickly that we are surprised every time without giving the impression that it is not fresh or not tasty. We remain regular customers! The staff is attentive and quick. We can also say that we have been able to inspire a number of friends to visit the restaurant over the past few years. Keep it up!

Unfortunately I cannot agree with the other reviews. Unfortunately nothing worked at all yesterday. We were there in a group of 7 people. Unfortunately, two people had to cancel at short notice. Thereupon came an unfriendly “you could have communicated this beforehand. In terms of space it would have been very tight. Staff seemed very stressed. When the food came, the food flew towards a person in a bowl. It can happen but no excuse, you don't need a rag, nothing. Since I had to leave early, after a while I asked for the bill for my food and the drinks I consumed. After almost 30 minutes I was told I had to go to the counter. Until then, no problem. However, while I was waiting there again, I was informed of my bill, which was paid with an EC card. 2 pieces of paper were on the counter. I explained to the employee which table I was sitting at. Apparently my drinks/food wasn't assigned to the correct bill or processed in the computer. The next morning a member of the group called and explained that food and drinks had not been paid for. What actually should have been noticed in the evening and communicated to the last members of our group. It's sad that the actually good food takes such a back seat. As well as dealing with what appear to be your own problems with billing.

Very, very nice, attentive staff, they even brought the dog a large bowl of water straight away. The food came very quickly, was super tasty, from the main course to the dessert, along with the coffee, everything was TOP!!! Price performance very good 👍 👍 👍!!! I would love to eat there again. Been there again after a long time. Top price-performance ratio. Nice staff. The side salad has been a hit for years. Enough parking spaces. Sufficiently large menu. Lots of starters. Luckily, away from the grilled plates (which don't exist in Greece anyway) towards a Mediterranean cuisine with an effort to be authentic. The next visit won't be long in coming :-)

Never again. I thought after 20 years of not visiting this restaurant, I would give it another chance. But I would have left it alone. Very unfriendly, everything was in a jiffy, you weren't sitting down yet and you had to order, I even had my jacket on. You sit there table to table and chair to chair with strangers. For all of us, there were 5 of us, the food was too salty. So nothing had changed for another 20 years. We will definitely not be coming back, not recommended.

Very good food and nice atmosphere. Service very attentive and quick. However, you should reserve in advance to make sure you get a table.

The furnishings are simple, practical and down-to-earth without much decoration. The food was good, it just lacked that certain something to be very good, especially since I didn't see any major differences to other Greek restaurants in Krefeld. Especially during peak times in the evenings, you were often overlooked by the wait staff and you sometimes had to get up to get your order. After 9:30 p.m. and the restaurant was visibly empty, they were attentive and asked questions without being asked. A nice exchange was also possible. Definitely suitable for a good Greek meal, if necessary try to avoid rush hour for a bit. Prices are completely okay.

I've been there twice so far and was completely overwhelmed by the taste the first time I went. On my second visit they couldn't confirm my first impression in the slightest. The dishes I ordered were the same as my first visit, but didn't taste nearly as good as the first time. The gyros this time were disastrous and not seasoned at all. The goulash soup too. Hardly any restaurant offers consistently consistent quality. If I go out to eat and pay 160 euros for four people, I want to experience something that unfortunately wasn't the case last time.

We eat there often. I like to eat there. Never been disappointed.

The food was very tasty. The best part is the starter salad. This one is AWESOME. Slightly sweet and sour with pine nuts on top as a topping. Simply DELICIOUS!!! The Suflaki was very juicy this time. The Suzuki had a bit too much caraway in it, but still tasted very tasty. My liver was also very juicy and flavorful. Unfortunately there is a lot of cartilage and tendons on it. Waiter very friendly. The boss (not exactly friendly) then collects money, which I found very sad. I would have liked to tip our waiter personally. What I (we) also didn't like: There was NO FREE ouzo. Every Greek has 1-2 ouzo. (1 before the meal, 1 after the meal)(Some Greeks give you a third free ouzo during the meal. The competition NOSTALGIA in Traar is better.

My favorite Greek :-) The service team is also super friendly. And the best thing: there is also a large selection of dishes for vegetarians. Heartily recommended to everyone!

Been there again after many years, good service and the food was delicious. I had the feeling that the portions were a bit larger compared to before, but that didn't hurt the taste. The visit was really worth it 👍🏻

We eat there often and the steak, lamb shanks and fish are very good. The delicious starters and squid are particularly enjoyable. You can eat both outside and inside. Usually very crowded and a bit loud, especially inside. Staff is super nice.

We held a family reunion there. The food and service were perfect and... it was very easy to have a conversation. It wasn't as loud and hectic as in some other places.

We've eaten there many times. Unfortunately the quality has declined. The food was OK, but it used to be better. Starting with tzatziki to gyros with metaxa sauce. It simply lacked taste. Too bad. But we'll try again.

It tasted good, gyros are delicious, if you want to go Greek you can eat well here. The menu is a bit clearer than most Greeks, which often offer too many dishes. 3 stars because it is no better but also no worse than most Greek restaurants. It is also very loud, which makes it impossible to eat comfortably.

I went there as a small child and really wanted to eat there again. Typical gyros gratinated with Metaxa sauce, were pretty tasty! That's exactly how I imagined gyros gratinated. Service was also very nice, nothing to complain about. Always happy again!

Best Greek in the area! Great service great food

We ordered two breaded schnitzels with patatakia (Greek potato slices) and a tomato and cucumber salad. It was very tasty and enjoyable. Furthermore, it was a portion that filled you well (the portion appears smaller in the picture). Price-performance ratio is right, as well as a relaxed, friendly staff. Gladly again!

We had a wonderful evening at Odysseus last week. We sat very comfortably on the terrace in the evening sun and had the feeling that we were really sitting in a tavern in Greece. The waiters were extremely nice, often came to check whether we needed anything else, chatted with us every now and then and made jokes. The food was excellent and special requests were taken care of very naturally and in a very friendly manner. At the end there was even a dessert platter for us on the house. We've all been there before, but we haven't been there for a while. But that will change again. Odysseus is my second favorite Greek restaurant and definitely in the top 5 of my favorite restaurants.

Leider war ich mit meinem gestrigen Besuch im Odysseus so garnicht zufrieden. Ich hatte mir die Leber gefreut, die aber leider total verbrannt war. Ich wies den Kellner darauf hin,aber ich erhielt nur ein kopfschüttelnd " OK". Mir wurde kein neuer Teller gebraucht, geschweige ein Ausgleich, wie weniger zu bezahlen, gewährt.Hinzu kann, dass wir an einer Fensterfront saßen, deren Scheiben über und über mit Vogelkot dekoriert war. Auch nicht sehr appetitlich.

Solid and really large restaurant with Greek cuisine. The service staff is very friendly and quick. The dishes were very tasty, unfortunately my gyros were a bit gristly. The menu is surprisingly tidy for a Greek restaurant, almost (pun intended) “Spartan” 🙃 I have a particularly positive memory of the relaxed background music, which brings a nice modern flair. Gladly again!

Large portions and normal price. Each dish comes with a salad with our own house dressing, which also tastes very good.

We ate there today with four adults and one child. The service was okay but the fact that I sat in front of my empty glass for an hour... okay, you can do that but you don't have to. The food wasn't really convincing either. My gyro was fatty and full of gristle, the chicken tasted like everything but chicken, the rice was cold and so on. But awesome, we got four packets of mayonnaise which were charged at 0.40 cents per packet. Together we paid 148 euros. Honestly, it's absolutely not worth it. I'm sorry.

We were there for the first time. Unfortunately we didn't like the restaurant that much. Despite reservations, we didn't have a decent seat. Which is so tragic now. We had ordered tzatziki with bread. Unfortunately we didn't like it. Too little salt so hardly any taste. I had omelette with tomatoes and feta cheese. It didn't taste like anything. Totally watery, I added salt and pepper to it but it didn't help. Didn't eat it. I also opened the omelet, there were huge pieces of tomatoes, far too many, the cheese was just right, but it had a strange taste. The gyro was overbaked and wasn't good at all. The meat was very fatty and the sauce didn't taste good at all. The restaurant was well attended, perhaps we simply had a bad choice of dishes. We won't eat there anymore. The nice waiter was positive. A little older but really very nice. We still had two waitresses. A younger man was nice, but the older lady was unfortunately unfriendly.

Food is good average, the prices for the food could be cheaper. The service was friendly and not intrusive. The ambience is good standard. For me 3.5 stars but since people have different tastes, that's the same with a rating.... I HOPE THAT I could still help with the decision. With best wishes Alex A.
