Ambrosia Restaurant in Krefeld

We had dinner at Ambrosian on Sunday, August 4th, 2024 at around 6 p.m. We had called ahead and reserved a table. We were then placed in the back right corner. There were indefinable stains on the wall and the floor was full of breadcrumbs. And that even though the shop had only just opened. The menu was quite sticky and torn. We then ordered fried anchovies and baked sheep's cheese as starters. The dead fried anchovies were served with three slices of dry baquette. I then had to order tzatziki for a fee to get the anchovies down. The baked sheep's cheese was ice cold in the middle. Once it was cut, it was simply thrown back into the deep fryer. Great start. The main course was a grilled plate with pork fillet and Giros gratinated with Metaxa sauce. I asked that the meat not be cooked through. This wish probably didn't reach the kitchen. Everything was absolutely fried to death and the supposed pork fillet wasn't. And the portion of tzatziki was minimalist. I'm not familiar with Greeks like that. The Metaxa sauce was more of a soup and then everything was baked with a bunch of the cheapest analogue cheese. Not edible. When I then mentioned the deficiencies, they didn't address them at all. All I got was a snide “That was pork fillet.” Impossible! An outrage! The whole fun cost a whopping €65, including a bottle of water. Absolutely not justified. We won't be entering this store again. There is better food in a Greek chip shop.

We visited this restaurant for dinner last weekend based on a voucher we received. Table reservation online was quick and problem-free. There is sufficient parking space around the restaurant in the residential area. We were allowed to choose a table and chose the terrace. This is tastefully decorated. The only sticking point that the restaurant is not responsible for is the location right on the main street. Despite the high amount of plants around it, the street noise cannot be completely blocked out. Of course our dog was allowed to come along, which might be interesting for other dog owners. The service was friendly and attentive throughout the entire stay, but not intrusive. The food, my meat platter, son's gyros and my wife's souvlaki, were excellent. The portions are not overly large, but enough to fill you up. The prices are within the usual range for a good restaurant. In summary, we will go here again because our visit completely convinced us.

YUMMY! This was our first time at Ambrosia. It's great that you can reserve online. The ambience is beautifully presented and has a Greek flair. As is typical for the country, we were greeted with a delicious ouzo. The food is of great quality. The drinks took a while, but that was completely ok. The starter plate was plentiful and very tasty - there were delicious things in small bowls. The salad that came with the dish was fresh and tasted very good. Gyros was truly to die for. In general the meat was perfect and very juicy. That's how it should be. The side dishes such as potato wedges and fries really tasted like potatoes and were fresh. In terms of price, you can say it matches the quality and the price/performance ratio is right at Ambrosia. Keep it up!

Various dishes were super tasty, everyone was enthusiastic without exception.

The food is excellent. Nice Greek dishes. The lamb shank is highly recommended, but also exceptional dishes such as gyros calamari or the grilled baby calamari. It's just a shame that veal liver is usually not available.

Small Greek restaurant with a terrace. The food is good and fresh. If you want to come here, you should make a reservation.

Very tasty food and friendly service. My lamb chops were perfectly fried, the potato wedges were deliciously seasoned and the salad was fresh with a great dressing. The price-performance ratio is right here. The restaurant is very conveniently located on Sprödentalplatz. A visit to this Greek restaurant is really worth it.

Most of the dishes are too garlicky for my taste. If you like that, you're in good hands here. The service is very good.

We went to Ambrosia for dinner with friends on Saturday evening. We had reserved early otherwise it would have been difficult for us to get space. The menu offers typical Greek dishes and our starters and main courses were very tasty. The service was attentive and friendly and the evening was very pleasant so far.

Very nice staff. You don't have to wait long to eat here. Tasty and large portions. It is advisable to reserve a table in advance because it is always very crowded here.

Price-performance not entirely consistent. Service was stressed? You had to point out the tip, otherwise he wouldn't have taken it. Maybe it was a “full moon” 😉

Food is OK, but I wouldn't go there in winter because the dining room is really uncomfortably cold. Either there is something wrong with the heating system or the operator is trying to save on heating costs.

Es war überhaupt kein Problem mit zwei großen Hunden dort zu essen. tiri fournou Als Vorspeise ist für jeden der Feta mag eine absolute Empfehlung!! Das wird definitiv nicht der letzte Besuch dort sein.

Klassisch geführtes griechischs Familienrestaurant, gutes, reichhaltiges und authentisches Essen, Ambiente etwas schlicht

Ich war das erste Mal dort und wurde nicht enttäuscht, wenn gleich ich nicht so sehr auf griechisch stehe. Nettes gemütliches Ambiente, netter aufmerksamer, dabei nicht aufdringlicher Service. Ich hatte eine gemischte Platte mit verschiedenen Fleischsorten für 18.50 Euro mit wedges und Zaziki sowie den klassischen Salat vorneweg. Es hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt und die Menge war mehr als üppig. Preislich völlig in Ordnung, Geschmacklich sehr gut - ich kann das Ambrosia empfehlen.

Angenehmes Ambiente, nicht so gewohnt griechisch. Guter Service. Das Essen war frisch und hatte eine hervorragende Qualität. Wir hatten vorab den Vorspeisenteller "Pikilia" mit verschiedenen Zubereitungen (Tsatsiki, Taramas, Fetacreme, sowie Mini-Kalamares) und dazu frittierte Zucchinischeiben, sehr lecker! Danach u.a. Lammfilet - es war ausgezeichnet. Klares Fazit: Wir werden wiederkommen!

Wie immer sehr angenehm und leckeres Essen. Ich bevorzuge das Iberico Kotelett. Einfach fantastisch.

Bisher sind wir öfter und gerne dort Essen gegangen! Heute hat uns der Service nicht gefallen insbesondere die Ansprache bzgl. des reservierten Nebentisches. Griechische Gastfreundlichkeit war das nicht!!!!! Das Essen war ok! Wir werden jedoch nicht wiederkommen!

Vegetarisches Angebot leider seeehr klein, hatte auch etwas Bauchschmerzen nach dem Essen. Service war super angenehm, aber die Location direkt an den bahnschienen ist durch die Lautstärke leider nicht optimal

Nette Bedienung, Möbel sind in die Jahre gekommen. Fleisch war sehr lecker. Der Dressing für denn Salat etwas versalzen. Haben uns aber trotzdem Wohlgefühl. Schön wäre wenn zur Begrüßung auch mal was Alkoholfreies angeboten wird.

Sehr leckeres Essen, insbesondere das Gyros in Metaxa-Sauce. Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich und der Service immer freundlich.

Ich war zwei mal dort. Das Essen ist m.E. leidlich gut. Flair fehlt, es ist laut. Ich kann leider keine Empfehlung aussprechen.

Gerne esse ich hier und habe es nie bereut. Zaziki als Vorspeise, bzw. zum gegrilltenFleisch, eine immer leckre Sache bei allen Fleischgerichten. Ob Ochalia Teller, Kreta - Teller oder Bauern Teller , immer sehr gute Fleischqualität und niemals versalzen oder zu scharf. Das Bier kommt gut gezapft, eine reine Freude. Gerne esse ich danach noch ein gemischtes Eis, dann einen Kaffee und dazu einen Metaxa. Bestes griechisches Restaurant in Krefeld. Meilenweit über allen anderen Krefelder Griechen !

Endlich mal ein griechisches Restaurant, dass seine Berufung nicht daran sieht möglichst große Portionen auf den Tisch zu bringen, sondern stattdessen die Qualität in den Vordergrund stellt. Das Ambiente kennt man noch aus Zeiten des STARS, hat sich nicht grundlegend geändert, also gut. Ein Tsatsiki der nach mehr schmeckt, insgesamt alle Vorspeisen top. Meine Lahmhaxe war exzellent ! . Weine passen vom Preis / Leistungsverhältnis gut, Top Bedienung, sehr freundlich und kompetent. Schön auch das es den obligatorischen Ouzo vor dem Essen als " Aperitif " gibt. Wir kommen gerne wieder !!

Sehr Leckere Babycalamaris, insgesamt sehr gute Vorspeise n, der Rest mittelmäßig. Weine lecker, Personal sehr nett!

This has been my second time eating here and all I can say this place is great! The food is fresh and comes to the table piping hot. The serving sizes are generous and you will not leave hungry. The service is very attentive and prompt if you need anything. For anyone that does not speak much German, the entire staff’s English is very good and they have menu’s in English. I had an appetizer, salad, and main course and the wait staff made sure to never overlap my courses. I will most definitely return!

주택가 변두리에 있는 레스토랑이라서, 별 기대 없이 방문하였는데, 기대 이상으로 분위기와 맛이 괜찮았던 레스토랑, 와인도 괜찮았고, 스테이크도 좋았다.

Wir waren letzte Woche das 1. Mal im Ambrosia essen - leider war unser Essen versalzen und die Darbietung des Essens ist sehr karg - wenn man Sardinen bestellt, dann liegen auch wirklich nur die Sardinen auf dem Teller - nichts garniert oder verziert...

Schönes Ambiente, sehr netter Service, feines Essen. Wir hatten die Zucchinibrätlinge, die gebackenen Sardellen und die Haloumi Bruschetta als Vorspeisen, und dann Lachs und Bifteki als Hauptgerichte: alles sehr lecker und schön angerichtet. Wir waren rundherum zufrieden und gehen sicher wieder hin!

Muy rica comida griega. La carne muy sabrosa. Todo en general muy bien condimentado. Productos frescos. Nos atendieron muy bien también. Calidad precio servicio y producto final muy buena. Lo recomiendo.

Really nice food. You could almost hear the Mediterranean if you closed your eyes. Great service and friendly staff. I had one of the mixed platters that I can recommend!! Short walking distance from the Mercure hotel and it is well worth it much better than having dinner at the hotel!!

Geweldig goed eten. Leuk restaurant en goede vlotte bediening. De porties zijn aan de grote kant en zeker goed betaalbaar. Het enige minder aangename was de warmte. Uiteindelijk ben ik op mijn t-shirt gaan zitten.

Wir sitzen hier noch im Lokal. Sehr nett, gutes Ambiente aber das Essen .Wir hatten die Vorspeisenplatte sehr Zucchini lastig keine eine Olive weit und breit übrigens beim ganzen Essen die Pasten waren gut das Brot Baguette. Die Souflaki die ich immer bestelle um zu testen waren sehr mager und trocken. Die Leber war gut der Beilagen Salat war mit French Dressing. Alles ganz lecker, aber mit griechischer Küche hat das nur am Rande zu tun.

I've been in Krefeld for business, the first week of October. I love so much this place! I've eaten there for 4 dinners! Warm and welcoming atmosphere, the kindness of the staff, and the freshness of the dishes make this restaurant one of my favorites. I also came back last week, and I did not meet the owner, a very nice lady. Next time!

Had to find an alternative to hotel restaurant and went to Ambrosia. Dinner was served fast and Food was tasty. Reasonable priced

Needed a place in walking distance from hotel. Made a great choice with Ambrosia. Highly recommend you give it a try.

Went for a quck late dinner and was happily surprised. Local living room atmo but clean with very polite personnel. Had some feta stuffed minced meat with wedges and tzatsiki and I loved it. Price level is very reasonable. Menu had good variety of choices. Shot of ouzo on arrival ;-) You will not be disappointed if you look for homey greek cuisine!

This new restaurant can be recommended. Friendly and fast service, special lunch menu with very competitive prices. Street parking is available in the residential neighborhood. They don't have their own carpark. If you want to get more information about this restaurant, you'll find out that they don't have a website. They're only on facebook.

This restaurant has recently opened. The menu is typical of of a Greek restaurant, but there are always special offers which are listed on a chalk board. If you go there for lunch you'll be surprised about very competitive prices on a special menu. The quality of the food is good, everything is prepared fresh. The service is friendly and quick.
