Very good, but the prices were a bit too high for us. But everyone has different opinions.

I was in Ilmenau for a seminar at the Binz company and had dinner here. This restaurant is an insider tip. The food and beer were excellent, and the prices were fair. The atmosphere in the restaurant is rustic, cozy, and welcoming. The owner is a real character and very hospitable. If I ever find myself in Ilmenau again, I'll definitely eat here again. Thank you very much.

There is more than enough choice for breakfast. The online reservation system is in dire need of improvement. Emails are sent five times – confirmation, reminders, and a review – even though there was only one reservation.

Simply heavenly! The fatayer tasted like I was back in Damascus: fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. Every bite was a journey back to my childhood. Highly recommended!

I was here for a birthday party and would like to thank you again for the cozy evening in the beautiful ambiance and the great, friendly service. We'd love to come back. I thought the food tasted very good, just like it used to – I haven't been here in a long time. For those who are undecided like me, I highly recommend the mixed appetizer plate with eggplant, feta cheese, tzatziki, etc. The side salad with the gyro was also fresh and gone quickly. I found the portion size to be quite large, so bring an appetite or pack up the leftovers and eat them the next day, like we did ;)

The sushi is always delicious, and the owner is very friendly. We love ordering here.

We received a very friendly welcome and were served. Bruschetta as a starter was theoretically enough for two people. The pizza was delicious and made with good, fresh ingredients. The pasta dish with shrimp was also highly recommended. Upon request, they even offered a drink that wasn't on the menu. Highly recommended.

Hannes am Herd is an absolute must. The chef himself is in charge (as the name suggests), the staff is super friendly, the ambiance both inside and outside is very pleasant – and above all, the food is a real delight. Here, the food is still freshly cooked with natural ingredients and lots of love – and you can tell. Unfortunately, Hannes is closing the restaurant in August 2025 and is looking for a successor. I very much hope that it will continue in this spirit.

The ambiance and interior design are very pleasant. Quaint without being kitschy, it suits the region you're in. My previous experiences with meatloaf had been negative, but I gave this one another chance. It was absolutely worth it! Finally, I see how people can enjoy meatloaf – firm to the bite yet tender, with a very good sauce. I deducted half a star (which isn't possible here) because the spaetzle served with the meatloaf were very oily. Nevertheless, the food was very good. In retrospect, I wish I had left a bigger tip, as the service was incredibly friendly and attentive without being intrusive. She struck just the right rhythm between checking in and passing by, even though my table wasn't visible from the counter. The lady's friendly smile was infectious!
